After many months of poor health my family took us away for a weekend at Port Elliott. It seemed that I was the only one that knew about this spot. We made a find and sign and enjoyed the wares at the coffee house.
Travelling with richlink on our Annual Caravan Geocaching road trip, using geocaching as our guide. Spending a few days in beautiful Port Elliot exploring the area and picking up a few caches. TFTEC answers have been submitted. LNCU
Travelling with iluvtrekking from our home state of WA on a SA caching foray. Staying in beautiful Port Elliot for a few days to cache the area. Nothing open today - it is very cold. Answers sent. Thanks for the find. LCNU
It was an interesting story about Glacier Rocks. Thank you Everlasting for bringing us here.
Veni, Vidi, ViciHaving finally unlocked premium, its time to catch up on logs. Visiting Adelaide with the Gcrew (BFMC, Bushfire, Dromaniax, Jtreetrack2, Neville_Devil, Quickhealer2 and SimsFamily) for a mega adventure. Thanks to all the Cache Owners for their caches, we had a very busy, but very enjoyable couple of days in Adelaide and surrounds targeting a D/T loop in a day and whatever other caches took our fancy. No rest for the wicked on this trip.
Hey there, G-Crew decended onto to Adelaide to take on the lofty task of completing a full D/T Matrix loop on a single day, and we managed to do so!Our team consisted of Dromaniax, BFMC, Bushfire, JTreeTrack2, Sims_Family, Neville_Devil and myself Quickhealer2Thank you for maintaining this Earthcache, all answers were sent by one of our team members, and we had a blast finding the answers to itThanks again from Colin, Ben, Laurie, Andrew, Eddy, Neville and Emily
I took my first ever trip on a plane to Adelaide to cache with G-Crew (BFMC, Bushfire, Dromaniax, Jtreetrack2, Quickhealer2 and SimsFamily) for a mega leap day adventure. After months of planning and puzzle solving we hired a minivan and set off on a mission to find as many caches as we could on our leap day adventure with the main goal of completing a Dt loop in a day. We started off by working our way down to Victor Harbour via the coast, then worked our way back to Adelaide via the inland route chasing different types, sizes, JASMER's, unusal D/T's, earthcaches, virtuals and more. Thanks to all the CO's who have placed and maintained all of the caches we found on this trip, I had a great time.
Well the big day is here, we are finally in Adelaide after weeks of planning . The G-Crew (BFMC, Bushfire, Dromaniax, JTreeTrack2, Neville_devil, Quickhealer2 and Sims-family) has some pretty intense goals that requires a very long day and no sleep to achieve. The last few weeks the message group has been awash with many many messages as we worked though all the puzzles in order to achieve our main goal of a full D/T loop in a day.We loaded the Hyundai Staria (Was meant to be a KIA Carnival, Not an upgrade ) with all the ToTTs we though or hoped we would need in order to achieve our goals. All logs were signed or stamped with the G-Crew name to safe time and space in the logs.Thank you all the CO's for the contributions and ongoing maintenance. We had a blast and sorry for the generic log but with so many logs to write I'll never catch up if I don't.Answers have been sent by one of the members of G-Crew
The G-Crew (BFMC, Bushfire, Dromaniax, JTreeTrack2, Neville_devil, Quickhealer2 and Sims-family) have descended on Adelaide with some seriously lofty caching goals as our sole objective, to be achieved at the expense of almost everything else (including sleep). With a minivan loaded with Cachers & TOTTs hopefully time is the only thing that stands in our way With 2024 presenting us with a leap day, we have decided to target as many of Project-GCs Leap Day badge extensions as possible, with the primary objective of completing a fizzy grid in a day.South Australia became the logical choice due to the Mega event and the fertile, largely uncached grounds it provides for our team. Many months of planning and puzzle solving (from the simple to downright diabolical) have gone into this trip. Our selected matrix has evolved over time to account for other ongoing objectives.Fortunately, BFMC had a list of solved caches that gave a great starting point for our assault, but the many, many hours, and many more group chat messages since we started planning this in 2023 have brought us to this point. All physical caches were either stamped or signed as G-CREW to save both time and log space. Thanks to all the COs who have placed and maintained these caches!Thank you Everlasting for this Earthcache.
A couple of days off work so we can visit the City of Churches for the Great Leap Forward MEGA. The G-Crew met up at Adelaide Airport and all piled in to the Hyundai Staria Im pretty sure Staria means not that comfortable and be prepared to slide around in your seat. The G-Crew (BFMC, Bushfire, Dromaniax, JTreeTrack2, Neville_devil, Quickhealer2 and Sims-family) have prepared for months and are ready to go. Puzzles have been solved, target caches listed, spare caches ready we are to get a Leap Day fizzy grid in SA. 7 Cachers checkToTTs checkCold drinks checkEnough time hopefully. All logs were signed or stamped with the G-Crew name to save time and space in the logs.Thank you all the CO's for the contributions and ongoing maintenance. We had a very tiring caching party. Sorry for the generic log but with 100+ logs to write I'll never catch up if I don't, my logs have been at 8 months unloved so have had plenty to catch up on.
According to Google I have lived for 21 leap years + but how many more we do not know but the SA Leap Forward Mega has been and gone and what a great event. Our very lofty goal, completing a full D/T Matrix on a leap day. The G-Crew (BFMC, Bushfire, Dromaniax, JTreeTrack2, Neville_Devil, Quickhealer2 and Sims-family) have descended on Adelaide with some seriously caching goals as our sole objective, to be achieved at the expense of almost everything else (including sleep). We have to say a great big thanks to all the cache owners for looking after these caches for us to find. The hire cars had a big work out with all the gear and TOOLS that we thought we may require. We have decided to target as many of Project-GCs Leap Day badge extensions as possible, with the primary objective of completing a fizzy grid in a day.One of my first Megas was in SA in I think 2014 ( Murray Bridge) but as there, just so many caches of most D/T combos it made sense to target this Mega. We had a list of solved caches that gave a great starting point for our assault but distance was also a problem but I think we made our objective irrespective a great time was had even if we do not make our objective.Answers have been sent. Thanks to all the S.A. cachers for placing these caches and keeping them on the playing field.

Thanks Everlasting for bringing me here to this important geological site. Another previously unknown and fascinating location. I was returning to Adelaide with a couple of muggles; we all enjoyed this side trip. This meant so much more than the school excursion to Hallet Cove many years ago. The road less travelled is, so often, way more interesting. Geocaching has taken me to many of them.
TFTC the geology is so interesting. Have been here before and had lunch at the cafe. Very peaceful with the sound of the stream flowing.
Out and about with HoneyB17. Drove past this cache and did a UTurn for the waffles. Didn't know if the existence of the nearby business or the natural wonder.
Fav point from me.

The geology in this area is amazing. I enjoyed my visit with skyejam. Thanks Everlasting for organising the earthcache.
It was an interesting story about Glacier Rocks. Thank you Everlasting for bringing us here.
Found with my Shatzy quite a while back, sent answers to c/o a while back too, gaining permission to log.

So pleased to log this cache as has precious memories at this location. As a child my family visited Glacier Rock annually in the late 1950's and mid 1960's when we stayed at Normanville. Muggle husband and I were told to make sure we had a vanilla slice at the Cafe Belicious. It was the absolute best. Thank you Everlasting for your response. (I'm sitting at back of photo on a ladder - one sister missing in photo - she must have been catching tadpoles)
Enjoying some time caching in the Inman Valley. Wow!! What an amazing place!! Who knew this was hiding away on the Fleurieu Peninsula.
Many thanks for bringing us here Everlasting……a favourite point on it’s way

Found during a caching circuit down the Fleurieu Peninsula to Victor Harbor with e.gregory1 for the day, enjoying driving the scenic back-roads and finding caches along the way. I remember coming here as a youngster and several other times over the years. Thanks for the interesting earthcache Everlasting!
Today FeatherWaite and I decided to make the most of the slightly cooler weather and made our way down to Victor Harbor and back to find a few caches.
We targeted some non-traditional cache types including Unknown, multi, letterbox, wherigo and earthcaches, including this one.
The weather was kind to us, with no rain of any consequence and mild temperatures. With schools back now, it also means that there were a few less people about. All in all it was a great day.
An interesting bit of exposed geology here. Surprisingly popular today as well!

A day trip to Victor Harbour and surrounds, concentrating on several segments of my “360° from home” chart that are deficient in finds!
I didn’t know about the geological feature here, nor the Belgian cafe. Unfortunately the cafe had closed by the time I got here, but the Earthcache is 24/7.. The lower platform is collapsing and fenced off, but it’s all still doable.
Answers submitted, permission granted, thanks for getting me to stop here Everlasting, I’ll try to be earlier on my next pass.

We were supposed to do this cache a bit later today but we were starving so arrived early but they were able to fit us in for Lunch. It was a Glorious Day so we sat outside and each had a Burger and a Thick Shake which was really Yummy and Good Value. Then with Full Bellys we went down and visited the Rock. Mr Sandalwood Cottage wanted to hippety hop all over the Rock but I told him if he slipped and did a hip I wasn't going to come in and save him. He reluctantly didn't wander far but on the way back to the Car he dropped the Hand Held GPS and smashed the Screen. Better than ya hip I reckon!!!!
Thanks for the great cache. We were very distracted by the smell coming from nearby. We came looking for a rock and found so much more. Answers sent to CO.
Thanks for bringing us here.

Visiting SA for two weeks for the Victorian school holidays.
We spent some time in Mt Gambier (as a base to checkout Southend, Beachport and Robe), then some time at Port Vincent as a base to check out the southern parts of the Yorke Peninsula that we had not visited before. And now finally spending a week in Adelaide.
Today we decided to head south to checkout the Talisker mine. That was an interesting spot and could probably do with an EC.
On the way home we spotted this EC on the app map and thought it would be a good spot to break our journey and check out something of interest.
This is the second glacial related EC we have done on this trip the other being at Hallett Cove.
We have really enjoyed learning about glacial marks, erratic boulders and the like.
If I had my time over again I might be a geologist instead of a Communications (Electronics) engineer..but a bit late for a career change now , with less about 13 years to retirement!
Thanks Everlasting for bringing us to this location. We would have driven past blissfully unaware that it was here, if not for you EC.

I've been wanting to come here for years! Even before Geocaching, today I finally got hte chance, how cool are Glacial erratics? .......well I think they are... the rest of my family were more interested in the Belgium Waffle house.....turns out that was pretty cool too!! Yum! Thansk Everlasting. Answers on thier way.
I had to show this piece of history to my darling wife. Our daughter was in Selwyn House at school so even more reason to visit. We had a light lunch at the very busy Belicious cafe overlooking the rock. Thanks for the cache Everlasting. It’s also our 1000th. It’s taken a long time to get to 1000 but we only go for quality not quantity, and this one is definitely quality.
Well we are disappointed in ourselves for not being here before, way too often these days a cache location isnt so memorable but this was a beauty.
The water was flowing and the birds were whistling, a very serene place, we didn't stop for anything to eat or drink but looking at the outlook from the cafe it would be very enjoyable. Pretty durable rock, that's a lot of constant water eroding away the stone but not making much impression on the hardy rock, wish our house was made of something that tough.
The second observation platform is wired off for safety reasons but the area allowed us right down to the waters edge which was pretty cool.
Thanks Everlasting for the cache. Nicest spot we have been to in a while for a cache. Favourite point for a great spot.

Came for a look from the top and the bottom with Purrfect Di .
A nice rock. Been here for millions of years - or at least since Matty was in primary school and came here on excursions!
Back then you could get a sandwich at the top and eat it on the rock.

With Sushilord home on a flying visit, a caching day out for old time's sake was in order. Fun, good views and quality chatter was the main order of the day, but a respectable number of caches were still managed. This was an impulse stop, as Owl nearly missed the blue circle on her GPS and the Fish had already done it. The rock was interesting and lunch was delicious, with a good view throughout. Thanks for the excuse to stop at a location Owl hasn't visited in many years.

Today with COVID-19 requirements still in effect, I headed out with my household and geocaching buddy jesswrigley for some hiking adventures along the Fleurieu Peninsula. We were also targeting some key geology sites that were good analogs to some of our oil and gas work.
We had a few walks along the ocean checking out some of the sea caves, before stopping off in Second Valley to look at the cliffs and study its marble deposits (a repeated visit for me, but first for jesswrigley). We had lunch at Normanville, and then headed back south for a few hikes in Second Valley Forest, and Middle Fence Forest, before heading home via Inman Valley. A great opportunity to also have stopped to study Selwyn's Rock (Glacier Rock) nearby. Despite some concern of rain, the day was pretty good with our fitness, but there were some cold winds.
I think I had become aware of this location whilst doing some cycling in past Tour Down Under rides along here, and drives to Victor Harbor noting Glacier Rock nearby, so had always been intrigued to visit here. This was one of our targets today together, and so was one of the last sights. We read the information at the various platforms, and descended down to the river bed to get a better view of the rock. We were a little let down / disappointed by the lack of signage and interpretation, but having done some further research, we managed to put together the various observations here at the time. Luckily, jesswrigley pointed out the main boulder that was hidden from view at the upper platform observation deck. A pretty interesting place actually. Answers collected and sent to the CO; Thanks Everlasting for the EarthCache organisation here.

Today I decided to head south towards the fleurieu peninsula collecting caches along the way, I just just popped from cache to cache and the aim was to clean up around yankalila but some how I found myself at Victor Harbour, still a great day out and a total of 49 finds.
Thanks for the cache

Almost at the end of day 2 for Eskies5 and I on geocaching trip from Qld to SA. We had a long list of caches to tick off as we went. This one was chosen for its size. Heading towards GZ, Aussie M & M, Eskies5 and I read through the information boards but with little luck. We emailed the CO the answers we had gathered and have been given the ok to log a find. Enjoyed our stop off here. TFTC Everlasting
Day 2 of a dedicated geotrip from QLD to SA to tick off lots of boxes for Kestal and Mrs Esky. Slowly caching our way south from Adelaide to Victor Harbor...this one was targeted for its size: Not Chosen. Visited with Kestal and Aussie M&M and headed for the lookout and the information boards...gave the questions our best shot for which the CO kindly gave us permission to log a find. An interesting area Everlasting. Thanks for bringing us here.
I have visited this area pre-geocaching days, however it was good to return and study the area in more detail.
Like Hevwalker I struggled to find visible information from signs, and therefore had to Google the information, of which I couldn't seem to find it all. Anyway this was an enjoyable area to visit, and to have a close look at the rock formations, and also to spook a black snake who was sunbaking on the rock, who the panicked by slithering around in circles and then headed straight towards me - I moved again and he took off in the other direction. An entertaining walk!

I had a great day making my way from Normanville to Victor Harbor one Cache at a time. Stopped at the Glacier (Selwyn’s) Rock to see if I could find a geologist or two. Nope - none here today. Made my way down to the Rick to check out the groovy scratches. TFTC Everlasting
The last Wednesday Wanderings for the puzzled puzzlers before heading off over the border for the Melbourne Mega next week. So Anymules has started his leave for that and today's crew was him, myself, S.A. Sewer Rats and Doctor Owl. Heading southwards today towards Victor we took two cars so the Owl could fly off early. A very long day (and night) that stretched into the next day before I got home but plenty of smilies, laughs and three of those dreaded DNF's.
Still making our way towards Victor we stopped here and found this little spot. Looking at hevwalker's log we found the new signs but were lucky enough to have a previous finder with us with some of the answers. Answers sent and logged in anticipation.

Day 4 of an 8 day road trip.

Since moving from New Zealand I have been enjoying the area, exploring and finding caches.
So far I’ve knocked off 4 of the states. VIC, SA, NSW and A.C.T
No two areas are the same here and almost every place I go is stunning. The beauty of caching is that it takes you to so many places you would never usually find.
Thank you to all the cachers out there for hiding and maintaining their caches. Especially to those who put so much effort into creating unique and fun hides.
The caches I’ve found in Australia so far have for the most part all been in great condition. Keep up the good work.

On an early morning trip heading home from Victor, took the opportunity to grab this one.
Ok ... time for a road trip - Mum and Dad came down from Qld, in their campervan, for a visit, then Mum flew home (ready to go overseas with a friend) and Dad and I headed off in the campervan, on a trip from Canberra (where I live) to Adelaide (where I was born) for his sister's 80th ... we spent a week driving there the long way, and taking our time visiting some interesting places and checking out a few places we used to visit/live/etc ... and stopping for me to find the odd cache or 5 ... or more ... lol
We then spent a week around Norlunga, Moana, Sellicks Beach, Mt Compass, etc catching up/visiting/doing things with relatives, and driving around looking at places we used to live/do stuff/etc, and a few beaches and other interesting things ... and me finding caches here and there as we went
Dad decided it might be fun to go for a ... er ... Thursday drive ... From Mt Compass, to Victor Harbour (we also ended up going via Goolwa, and coming back via Yankalilla and Normanville, and visiting my uncle Tiger ...)
We were driving along this road and I noticed there was an Earthcache on the map in the app on my phone ... so we stopped for a look ... Would not have known what we were driving past otherwise
TFTC - nice, interesting spot, and interesting Geology lesson
I have just sent a message with the answers (hopefully they are correct

Thank you for this Earthcache, I would have missed this on our drive through the area. Very interesting. Hello from Qld

On a South Australia holiday for a few days with some muggle family members. Because I was the only geocacher I couldn't just cache all day and every day.. even though this would have been my preferred option After some research a decision was made. My priorities were Webcams, Earthcaches, Virtuals and caches to help fill grids for the Jasmer Challenge. Even though I was surrounded by muggles, this was a successful venture. Three Webcam caches, ten Earthcaches, three Virtuals and six grids filled for Jasmer Challenge. Four extra bonus caches were found due to proximity. I'm looking forward to revisiting SA.

Visited this Earth Cache while out and about. Thanks for making us stop here and learn stuff and new facts (after the many times just driving past!!)
During our 1 month Australian journey Primile and I visited her uncle, who lives close to here. And we visited this Earthcache here. I didn't expect an earth cache related to a glacier here. Thanks to Everlasting for permission to log, placing this beautiful Earthcache here and for the very interesting information! TFTC with 1 favorite point from us and many greetings from Austria.
Visited this site some time ago with a buddy, but I never got around to sending off the answers to the CO. Answers sent and permission to log granted.
What a spectacular spot - I had no idea this location existed!
Gosh I LOVE geocaching! [:X]
Thanks so much for the awesome earth cache Everlasting!

As one of the closest caches to my house I didn't see any reason why I shouldn't be going and completing it whilst on a lap of the local caches doing maintenance after several bouts of hideous weather.
At least earth caches can't go missing!!

Thanks for bringing me to this spot for the earthcache. I found out about a place that I hadn't been to before.
Thank you, we enjoyed our visit to ***Selwyn's Rock*** - a beautiful and interesting spot, especially on such a gorgeous day. Mr L remembers learning about this when he was at school, and that was quite a few decades ago! Thanks for the *Earthcache*.
Out and about with Skippy and were passing by so decided to do the cache.
Nice day in the Inman, thankyou for the earth cache

Logging our find with the permission of the cache owner.
We visited on our way through the area today, and made a quick stop to gather some answers and take a photo or two. We visited this area many years ago searching unsuccessfully for a certain Zytheran cache that we believed to be nearby. The nearby cafe looks like it's doing well.
Thanks Everlasting.

A change of plans meant I was able to attend the Seaside 7 event and a suitable route was planned.
Seeing this cache come up when I was writing my logs I had a panic moment, had I contacted the CO and if I hadn't where were my notes. Think panicked duck on water. Turns out I'd done the smart thing and sent my answers to the CO when I got home from the trip. Think relieved duck on water.
This is an interesting spot that I've known about for ages but haven't been past since being involved in geocaching.
Six months of unloved time.
Thanks for bringing me here Everlasting.

Having a nice Saturday lunch at the aptly named Glacier Rock Café and (in between the showers) stepped outside to have a look at "the rock". By chance I checked the Geocaching app and discovered this Earthcache. Very informative. TFTC.

Found the answers to this puzzle and went and had a look at this ancient formation. Thanks for bringing me to see this, never knew it existed. Stoped of at café for a toasted sandwich, it took 25 mins. to make! Not sure I would return here for something to eat.
We are staying in Normanville with earthlight for a few days, it is day 3 and today we are making our way to Victor Harbour with a slight detour grabbing the caches we have missed down towards Deep creek,we are making our way back to normanville and we stop here, we can see the rock with the torch but our camera can not capture what we see very well so taken photo at sign near the rock, answers submitted for approval. Was on a nice drive from Victor Harbor to Yankalilla and decided to get a few caches along the way.
I have driven along this road numerous times but had never stopped here to look at the rock before. I love the places that caching takes me to. Read all the info and went down to have a closer look.
Took the required photos while enjoying my surroundings. [^] [^]

Very interesting to find out about how glaciers affected this area. Another very informative cache.
Nearing the end of a full day of caching, we stopped here to do the earth cache. It was interesting to learn how the glaciers came through here. Nice cafe there too for a stopover. TFTC
Catching up on some very late logs.
After a great social time with friends in Adelaide last night we reluctantly headed toward home, of course grabbing a few caches on the way.
We stopped here once before for a coffee but it must have been dark or we just were not paying attention.
This is a fantastic geological location and we even went to see the other sites associated with this one. It is funny as we had only heard of Glaciation's and Erratic's earlier this year and this part of Australia has many of them.
Many thanks to Everlasting for placing this cache and the very quick permission to log.

I needed an earthcache for an August souvenir.
The geological features here (glacial striations and a glacial erratic) are quite normal where i used to live in NZ, as there are still active glaciers. It was interesting to see them in an area so far from any current glaciers, here in SA.
Thanks for the EC.

Found on our OZ MEGA 2014 camping holiday.
It is always great going over to South Australia and this trip was no exception.
There are some amazing caches and views around.
A nice simple EarthCache.
We loved seeing the rock up close and imagining a Glacier here in South Australia!
Thanks for placing it here.
