has been removed by local council workers as part of a re-vamp of the area.
As I no longer live in North Canterbury, I will leave the area clear for another cacher to place a new one

Found post hole where post has been removed but no cache so this needs to be checked by owners.
Diverted to here on a drive from Kaikoura to Christchurch this morning. I had never been to Amberley Beach before and it was a very pleasant couple of hundred metres' walk along the beach from the carpark to GZ. When I arrived the cache was quite exposed, and all the fence posts had been removed; the wires were lying on the ground. There was a note in the logbook which appeared to be from a contractor - it read "Be aware. There are major earth works going ahead in this area soon." The note was dated 26-4-14. It might be necessary for the cache owner to disable and remove the cache for some duration while the work is taking place. No problems for me though, and there was nobody around anywhere near GZ. Signed log, thanks for the cache and for bringing me to this great spot.
Sixteen hours, 100 caches, mission from Rolleston to North Canterbury and back. #79 of 100. Nice short walk to an easy find. TFTC.
Florian had some difficulties on finding that one. He said that the cache was some metres off. At least he could find the stash and turn this one into a smiley!
Thank you for the cache - and thanks to Florian!

Nice walk in the forest - thanks. Remembered from a few years ago with Kiddzinn before we started geocaching.
Took a drive to the beach. No surfers today, as it was quite cool. Nice waves. Cache was easily found but it was wet inside. This needs a little TLC and drying out.
Found with Mr Fitch and Wii P after a short search. Thankfully not too many muggles, although some road workers were in the area. Breeze a bit cool to enjoy the beach today.
Nice spot.I was hanging around the first few posts and ended up where I least expected it

This was the last cache found on the nice trip. After a lift from Sallies to Amberly I took another lift to the beach.
The ocean was litle bit wavy. The cache was covered by a lot of sand and stones, because of he big waves.
nice and quiet place.

Amberley is a nice place to stay. Picked up the only cache in this area. Was still intact as huuge seas had been washing up and over this area.
Motorhoming NZ. First time here. Enjoyed a walk prior to the storm hitting, picked up this one while out walking. Are'nt dog owners funny. Passed a couple walking the mutt.We paid it all the attention affordable,NONE.lady said to dog "more people who dont want to say hello to you, poochie," or whatever.
During our visit in beautiful New Zealand, we have naturally sought some caches. There were many memorable impressions on our trip and showed us some caches the New Zealand off the beaten path. You have a wonderful country! We thank all Ownern for the cache and send best regards from Germany, Saxony, Leipzig 2 Supermuggels
New Log Book installed, did not realise container had a split in the lid, I patched it with some wax, will try to get back up with new container in next month. Its a bit harder now we are living in Ashburton but will get there
I had to sit and wait for while to contemplate where the cache may be as I suspected some muggles were sitting very near it. Turns out they were far enough away to make it an easy find. TFTC (966)
Found with 1jb and Ba1ley71 while doing a tour of the south island in a campervan.greetings from the UK and thanks for the caches.

I had intended to walk up Mount Cass but the track was closed due to risk of fire according to the guy I spoke to. As a consequence I swung in to Amberly Beach and enjoyed a walk on the the beach after finding this cache. The log book is damp but still OK to write in.

I've never been to this beach before so took the opportunity to have lunch and find a cache while working on the area. Thks
Stayed the night in our motor home in the nearby camp ground and took an early morning walk along to this cache on a very pleasant spring morning. Lucky we decided to visit it early because a gang of men arrived to do maintenance in the reserve shortly afterwards. Good to see the area well looked after.
Great place for a cache...encourage people to get walking and enjoy the beach as we did. TFTC.
great find... beaut spot for a picnic in the summer. Cache wet/log book wet with split lid so dried out best we could tucked it back into place.
In the area and could not resist picking up a quick cache and a run for the dog Thanks LGM
Nice easy find for our first time geocaching, great for the kids they had a great time.
A lovely sunny day to watch the waves but the wind & high tide meant that the walkway would make for a safer path. Really loved this location.
We took the stone lined path as it was a warm afternoon, and we appreciated the shade of the large trees. First visit to this beach for all 5 members of this caching raid.
Thanks for bringing me here.
Thanks for bringing me here.
I took the stone-lined path, too, around the middle of the day. What a lovely spot, with the houses having such close access to the beach. TFTC.
#3491. I find a lot of the North Canterbury coastal settlements feel rather gloomy, dominated by lots of dark pine trees. Although there are pine trees here, it didn't seem at all gloomy. We enjoyed our visit, and sat and watched the waves rolling in for a time after finding the cache. TFTC.
On a bike ride around the area with Crusaderwoman. Quick easy find in a great spot. TFTC
Beautiful walk down the beach. Enjoyed watching the fishermen and following the pretty paths.TNLNSL.
First find of the arvo for my birthday special. Lovely little spot. Took your advice and enjoyed the view from the picnic table. Must bring lunch next time...
Nice area. Not sure how long the seats are going to survive. They're getting very close to the edge. TFTC.
Hippo Hitchhiker decided he liked the water and wanted to stay. Nice beach even if a bit cool. Visited with Pokernet.
Found the cache, signed the log and got blasted by a hail storm! Thanks for placing the cache near to some shelter!
Nice easy find on an awesome day.
