Cache found safe and well. Didnt realise it had been archived. Any way it is still here and hope it will dry out over the next few months.
Cache was placed 11 years ago and needs maintenance, but I am no longer able to visit the cache.
Wow, this hill was steep! This newbie didn't think about mobile reception, and had none all through the valley. I was worried that I was going to wander right past it. However, reception returned just in time to find it. The container has a small crack in the lid, and the log showed signs of being damp, but otherwise was in decent nick. TFTC!
As I see it, there were four good reasons for me to find this geocache today:
1. It is an old boy. 2009 is enough to get me a little excited, and upon seeing this box has been geocaching a few days longer than I have, I am keen.
2. It is unloved. Some thirteen months since it was last visited. There's a good chance it's a challenge to get to when this is the case and this attracts me.
3. I need to find something today. Working on the next of a never-ending series of personal challenges and I need a find on 3 May.
4. It's outside and not near home. Many weeks of COVID-isolation meant all walks/runs/bikes were within my own postcode. I'm getting sick of it. Moggill Conservation Area is within allowable travel but somewhere new for me.
Plus I just felt like going on a more strenuous walk. I had good reason to think that this geocache might be up a hill. Heck, even [the map](https://parks.des.qld.gov.au/parks/moggill/pdf/moggill-rp-map.pdf) indicated a 'steep trail area' to get here. I had, however, almost approached this from Chalcot Road, but a last-minute change had me come from Mill Road and follow the northern-most trails along Centre Road.
It was as I was descending from [A bench with a view](https://coord.info/GL119AQ6J), that I missed the turn-off to the west and had to back-track. But on the right path, things got bloody steep, bloody quickly. Only I was going downhill so things weren't exhausting, but I did resort to the side-trails so I didn't go for an unplanned slide. I was also careful to watch the metres count down; I did not want to back-track this section.
Struggling to comprehend how steep this track was, I came onto GZ and quickly spotted a likely hiding candidate. Sure enough, in there was the geocache tucked away, hardly away from muggles. I guess any who are here and manage to spot it can deserve to discover it! I signed my name before replacing back as found and continuing the descent downwards, ever downwards towards the creek where the path got narrow and dark. I'm a happy boy to have finally visited this geocache, thanks SpeedBump07

The decision was made to grab this one on the way back from the hill top; didn't realise at the time how steep the track here was; so much so that the geoNiece went A Up (albeit in slow motion).
The two young 'uns had to resort to the hint to make the find; only to work out they were standing on top of the prize.

Out for an avo with IolantheK before heading to the "none Kenmore" at Jindalee event [^] We concentrated on the Pullenvale and Upper Brookfield areas.
This cache involved a bit of a hike and as IolantheK had got this one already she didn't descend the last bit down to the cache

A new cache nearby provided the motivation to grab this one. Normally chasing a FTF, I would bypass all other nearby caches, but on my climb up the hill I got a message from KeepingUpWith, who was also heading to the top of the hill chasing the new cache. Knowing KUW was behind me, I opted to venture down the hill from the ridge and grab this one.
And nearly 9 months of unloved to boot! Found without problem (except for the climb back to the top.)
Many thanks SpeedBump07

Great climb up the hill, didn't realize till we got to the top, that we didnt need too. TFTC
After dropping my son off at Allowah Scout Camp, I decided to do a few caches. These had been on my list to do for a while. It started off as a nice walk from the last cache, all downhill. Then there was the pretty part of the walk. Now there is this killer hill which I need to continue up to get to my car!!!!! TFTC!
Just when I had located the cache two rangers drove past... Thanks for the work out as I really could need one. TFTC
I visited the western side of the Park a while ago, but didn't have time then to continue the walk. The three caches at the northern were my targets for today. I parked on Mill Rd, geared up, sent a message to T-Tech that I was going bush, and set off up Pullen Creek Break, soon diverting onto Centre Road for the wander out to this one. Along the way I met 2 rangers spraying weeds, and one guessed I was a geocacher! Seems he used to be one before he became a ranger.
Quite some upward slog on Centre Road, then a short, steep down on Tower Break to this one's GZ, where I made a quick find. An appropriate title, and I was glad no bike riders came hurtling down from above! TFTC, SpeedBump07.

So today should have been a work day. And I did actually go into work for a few hours early this morning. But then my wife rang to say she wasn't feeling good so I came home to look after my 1 year old son. After lunch I thought I would take him for a drive and a walk so my wife could rest.
So with a plan hatched we were off. It rained the whole drive there from Taringa. Once stopped at Chilcot Rd and nappy changed I put all 12kgs of him in a sling on my chest. Would have been better on my back but I couldn't load him in by myself. With a huge nappy bag on my back and umbrella in hand we were off. After only about 10 minutes he was asleep. I kept a steady rhythm for the next hour. What a beautiful walk after rain. The bell birds and whip birds were singing beautifully. At the cache Oskar had fun sorting through all the swag. We took nothing but photos. Much quicker on the way home as he was awake and I could bounce him around more. Oh and much more down elevation too. Another grid spot filled for me. I left the other caches here for another day. TFTC

I was heading out for a day of fun on the geocycle and geosurfski too. I have ridden in this patch of bush once before. I headed up to Mermaid Mountain from here a few years ago. A grand ride that day. Just a quick one today though.
I came along the top of the forest from another cache to get to this one. The ride to this one was quite pleasant until the very end. Luckily I was paying attention and abandoned the bike about 100m from GZ. I knew I was going back the same way I had come and I would have to push the bike back up this one. A bit too steep and loose to ride back up.
The descent on foot in the bike shoes was sketchy at best. I stayed off the trail and walked down the more stable surface to the side.
A very obvious GZ made for a nice quick find thanks. [^]

Exploring this area grabbing the remaining caches. Thought i was being smart with my route to this cache. That was until i saw the descent! *% Hmm. Not really a safe gravel road for someone who is the complete opposite of a mountain goat. I found / made a safer path down the hill next to the road and quickly made the find.
Once the cache was located and signed it was time to brave heading back up the hill and finding a beautiful spot close by to stop for lunch.
Thanks for placing this one SpeedBump07, cache in good condition.

Second find in this area for the day. The last part was steep going down to GZ, and felt twice as steep coming back! All in good condition here. TFTC
Easy find but there was a lot of big dangerous steep hills to tackle. The pen in the cache is out of ink so bring your own pen. TFTC
Short diversion when I noticed this cache on the gps.

A steep walk in places, but very worth it! Nice lookout at the top. Thanks for the cache SpeedBump07!
The rest of the family had to meet up with friends early this morning just down the road so I took this as a good opportunity to grab the caches in this particular area. I decided to start on Early Morning Glory first and loop around to grab the other caches on the return leg. I'm still tossing up whether this was a bad decision or not. Going this way the up parts of the track were extremely steep with the down parts a slow gradual descent. I don't know if steep descents but longer lasting though gentler uphills are better? My legs certainly knew they were alive today but I pushed myself all the way (having a deadline I had to join up with the family again), slogging non-stop up hill and jogging the flatter and downhill sections to make up time. Was happy to reach the top of the hill here but dismayed to lose some hard won altitude to get to the cache ( I was thinking the whole time that I would have to walk back up to the top again). Managed to find the cache without any problems Certainly an enjoyable spot to go walking . Completely exhausted by the end of the trail but happy with the effort I put in.. Tftc
Woo hoo. What a hoot!
I was in the State Forest stretching my legs and making a few smiley faces. This was the second on my list for the walk. I managed to actually follow the fire trails to this one and came to it from above. I started down the slope but gave up on that idea. Instead walked just off the trail down to GZ as the path was looking like one long and painful trip-slide-bounce.
I had decided on where the cache would be on the way down, so obviously walked straight past it and then back up 10 meters.... At the GZ that my phone was indicating I made a quick find and was pleased to sign up after the adventure of getting here.
Of course that wasn't the end of it because I had to schlep back up the hill, but that was a lot less daunting than coming down.
Thanks SpeedBump. That was good fun.

After making it to Early Morning Glory Lisylou wanted to finish off the Moggil Forest by reaching here. I was already hot, sweaty and sore so why not just push on. Its a great area of forest and a great workout!
After finding morning glory, I wanted to continue onto this one to finish off the caches in this forest. Walking was quite easy from morning glory, although at one point we climbed a hill to try to make it quicker to GZ, only to find the path went around. Then we got a little covered in ash from recent fires around here. A little steep descent to GZ, we decided to walk just off the path on the ashy ground as it was easier and we had less chance of slipping. Easy find at GZ. We were now both hot, sweaty, tired and covered in soot, time to head back to the car. Tftc.
A pleasant Sunday walk in the forest with Gunnie69 and our better halves netted this one. Great walk, great cache, thanks NICE photos Gunnie [apologies for lengthy delay in logging]
I got a call from Gib69 a few weeks ago, asking if Mrs Gunnie and I would like to join him and Mrs Gib69 on a wee walk. Sure I said, that would be great... [^] As time went on, this was the chosen destination as it would provide us a good wander plus some bonus caches along the way...
We strategically parked one car a the South East point of the park and drove up to another starting point to kick off the stroll. On to the track, we followed the path past Tyamolum and came around from the North West. The terrain thus far was fine and we were making good time. We took a branch off to the right to forge our way to this one, and Err... the terrain changed significantly as we detoured.
A steep descent into the abyss, we followed the path until the GPS suggested "Up there"... A few stumbles on our way down, we knew that our rapid drop in altitude, meant that to find Helmet "HILL", we would need to go up again... Yup, we sure did... We soon had that sorted and arrived at GZ. I spotted the container in a likely hidey hole and we had names in the log in no time. All tucked away, it was time to reverse our approach... That bit was ok...
The area around GZ has been burnt off and on approach to the top, I was hoping that the fire did not consume the container. I am pleased to advise that all is well as the fire was container to the other side of the track... [^] See pics for a glance at the area as it was today...
Cheers SpeedBump07.

After setting off early alone with Mrs M asleep back at the car park I bumped into the CO while heading to Tyamolum. He told me how steep the hill was leading to this cache so I took a little detour around the side of the hill from Wide Open Spaces. I'm not sure that it was easier but it seemed like a good idea at the time. Anyhow after leaving the cache and heading uphill towards the next one I found out why cachers are finding it so difficult to get up to it. They are going against the traffic flow - see attached photo taken at the top of the trail T-Bracelet D-Koala TFTC

Bikies on way out. Went other way down not up. Last one.
Wow o wow! The hills/climbs to get to this one.....we came from the other direction so had very steep climbs down.....that would have been much harder if we came up instead of down. Wasn't even planned that way, just lucky. Not to say it was easy going down as it was very slippery and lots of loose rubble around. Our biggest issue actually was the motorbike riders near this one.
While we are enjoying the wandering, Swellerfungus calls for Pippa, she stops but he keeps calling her with his voice becoming somewhat louder and now with a paniky tone. Pippa has stopped and is staring as if to say "well, what??" I've no idea what the problem is and am ready to tell him to take a "chill pill".
Our position is at the bottom of a small hill and we can't see over the hill, with Pippa half way up. Suddenly he yells "motorbikes coming" and is on the middle of the track wildly waving his arms around shouting "stop, stop, stop"...........luckily the bike riders see Swellerfungus and do come to a quick halt, he runs over, grabs Pippa and waves the riders on.
I'm ready to pee my pants laughing after this realising he was worried the bikers would come over the hill and land on Pippa. I had heard the bikes but.....having absolutely no sense of direction.....just thought we must be near the road somehow. Couldn't decide if I was laughing at Swellerfungui panic or my complete oblivion to his reason for panic.....was good to have a laugh anyway.
We did find the cache, signed the log.
Thanks SpeedBump07 for the wander through the forest.

LadySim said she wanted to climb a mountain, so here we aren climbing a mountain!
to fellow cache hunters check out my log for Tyamolum for a 'how to' approach, but you cant go to far wrong either way. Note the maps around the five ways (local term apparently!) was not correct on open cycle maps, but not too difficult to work out.
great hill to descend, but would not want to be coming the other way. Watch out for motorcyclists, as our geodog nearly got run over by a few hurtling through the forest track below this cache.
Great place, we will be back for sure!

Since I was in the area, thought I would carry on to get this one. A 10km hike in total today from the bottom to the top to get this one. Not what the GPS said! But found it I did and pleased I did it. Now for well deserved rest from climbing that hill! TFTC
First time it's been found in more than 8 months, and I'm pleased to report it's all in great condition!
I chose a great afternoon for the walk too: cool, clear, a bit breezy; and I'm really pleased I decided to come in from the North along the Mill Rd track. Lots of green terrain, and the walk in is mostly up, which of course means the walk out will be mostly down.
I opted for this cache first and had no trouble following the Open Cycle Maps right to the GZ. The pile of rocks was very clear and the bag is quite intact. I added a golfball to the ample loot.
That last hill down is pretty impressive! I often run down these, but no way was I taking this one on without a helmet and a lot more besides. Only 20-30 mins from the car and I was on my way back. It was a lot easier than I expected so TFTC: it deserves more visitors!

This was a great hike in. Love this type of Cache, you get out into the bush and don't have to worry about muggles. TFTC.
Out for a hike around this piece of bush land grabbing a few caches on a beautiful, clear Winter's day.
This was the first and I approached from the top down, then had to go back up. A quick find. The cache is dry and in good condition. Thanks for the cache.

Leisurely walk up a hill or two. Quickly found and clambered back down to pick the seeds from socks and footwear. No snakes
Tried it first from the Mill Road side, but failed as it seems the whole area is declared as private property and we even didn't come close to Mill Road.
Started from the other side of the hill, Mount Crosby Road. Was a nice walk and we collected on the way to Helmet hill 2 other caches. But then Topo Australia failed completely (again). The tracks in the Garmin had nothing to do with reality. When we found it we ran out of water and it was close to midday.
Who is actually crazy enough to drive there?

Third one today. Would not recommend with toddlers. Good hiking shoes with a good grip is a must. Our navigator (Raudi2807) has not found the optimal way to the spot and had some arguments with his Garmin. Quick found as soon as you are close. TFTC
I didn't think the terrain was all that bad, but it was steep for the last little bit. Third cache today on a morning stroll from Chalcott St, and a wonderful walk too. Sadly the topo info on the gps didn't show the fire trails very accurately, and missed some of them completely. Nevertheless, found the correct tracks OK after a bit of thought. Passed a couple of lasses on horses near the start, then at the tank on the way out. They must have been giving the horses a lazy day. TNLN. TFTC, Speedbump07.
I nice walk on from a couple of other local caches, now lets get those legs moving back up the hill. T Trackable L N TFTC
I would not have found this without the hint. Thanks! My GPS was having me look on the other side of the path. Great hill. Glad I left my bike at the top.
Looking back maybe it wasn't as bad as I expected . The weather was perfect - not too hot. The creek was trickling away (although it looks like there was some water through here!!). The way up wasn't too bad from our entry point. The final approach to the cache however certainly earned its 3.5 star terrain!! You certainly wouldn't catch me trying to ride a bike down that!! A lovely area though and a great cache. It seems there used to be a lot more caches in this area?? Thanks SpeedBump07
After much discussion with Lokipagan, and a SLIGHT fail by my TomTom, we figure out the best way to approach this one. As per usual, I was holding the show up with the hills. But I eventually got there in the end. I was not regretting having my walking stick as we made our way down to GZ - that was some tough going. We eventually arrived / slid to GZ and found the cache after a small hunt. It was in good condition. I dropped a TB into it. A nice bit of bushalnd indeed. TFTC SpeedBump07
TFTC. Used it as an reason to get my 8yr out out and about in the forest today. It was easy to find and in good condition. Took a bouncy ball, left a start chart for the southern hemisphere.
Came with three kids. Was great but the three year old was on my shoulders for the big hill. The boys loved it, good trail, good hiding spot. Satisfying.
Found with mrs w/rat during an enjoyable stroll thru the state forest. The hill(s) in some parts are an experience, but as usual the views (and caches) in this area are well worth it.
The cache is good nick, although the plastic bag wrapper is starting to fall apart.
Took keyring and left little blue car.
Thanks SpeedBump. Cheers

I walked in from Hawkesbury road past Early Morning Glory and Crosby Peak which I couldn't find yesterday, I'm not very fit so a couple of these hills really had me blowing like a steam train, but a well planned attack probably saved me unnecessesary energy expendeture, most of the distance was a very pleasant stroll along the ridge top, it was just the start and the finish that were the killers. The cache was found with no problems,no swaps were made, thanks for a very pleasant afternoon.
Very tough day....raining wet and those hills!!
Absolutely enjoyed getting to this one!
Took Smily Stickers
Left Bracelet
Cache is very dry and in good condition!
TFTC! (but not the hills!)

I enjoyed a very relaxed stroll along the gently sloping firetrails heading toward the top of the Helmet Hill
A little bit warm this morning, but what the heck, I needed some exercise
Arriving only 80 metres from the cache I found meself at the top of a steeply sloping track in the downward direction.
Every step downward meant a step back up I would have to take.
It is amazing how slowly GZ approached as I wandered ever downward [:o]
But half way down there was the obvious hiding spot
After filling in the logbook I headed back the way I came.
The climb couldn't have been too bad as I still had the energy to continue up to the very top of the hill and enjoy the superb view between the wires toward the scenic rim [^]
TFTC and walk in what has become one of my favourite bits of Brizzie bushland

Found it! Great cache took woodke GC and bracelet left ball and keyring from London
Well, that was some walk, slip slide.....we chose to walk down through the bush to the side of the fire trail as we were far less likely to fall. We found the cache very easily and then had to slog back up that killer hill. Saw a small goanna (about 1m long) race up a tree to get away from us. TFTC
Decided to continue on from "Tyamolum" to this one. It was a delightful day, even with the hazy dust. Given our approach, we only had about 75 metres of killer downhill to the cache. SL/TN left Wildwoodke Geocoin.
Arrived at this one from above as we took a detour from early morning glory. Decided to leave the MTB at the top of the hill and walk down as I didn't fancy pushing it back up. A great choice I think as I could hardly even walk down the hill it is that steep. Never the less it is well worth checking this area out and today was a fine clear day not too hot, fantastic, just about had this place to ourselves too. Thanks for the trek.[^]
Found at 1615 in the cool of the afternoon. Surprised two young deer on my walk up that hill. Found GZ and cache quickly. Good hide. Found a place to park the car adjacent to a gate allowing entry onto the fire trail and only had a 700meter walk ( UPHILL) most of the way to GZ
Took Toy Took TB Left toy left childs bracelet.

In need of a morning walk I decided to head out this way for the new cache - and the other one here I hadn't found before. We'd been in to Early Morning Glory before so decided to attack it from the other end of the forest - which seemed not nearly as steep (although we did that one in the dark). It took me a few goes to find the right access point - first went up a seemingly new track to nowhere before finding the more obvious way in.
There followed a pleasant morning walk away from it all (apart from the large houses dotted around the area). I followed the "one-way" track down to GZ where I became acquainted with the background to the name (hope the remains of the owner weren't lying somewhere nearby) and made a quick find. Signed the log, made no swaps and continued on my way. Great area, great cache. Thanks for bringing me out here.

Set out not so early from Chalcot St to collect the other caches and complete a curcuit of the Moggill State Forest and clear out the existing caches. I had never been in this area before so this became a great litlle walk.
I went down to the cache before going back up the the feature at the top for a light lunch and then returned back past the cache on the way over to Tyamolum. Now if you think this little spot is a grade five wait until you try the slope in to Tyamolum.
Great spot for caches and I suspect there will no doubt be more in this area in the future.
Boy was this some walk for the day

Ah! Now I know where you shop .
I'd been in this area a couple of times so started from a different spot this time and walked all new trails except for about 200 metres. Nice fire trails most of the way for walking, MTBing, and horse riding. Also 'found' a nice rainforesty type trail near one of the state forest gates.
Found cache in good condition (natch).
SL with bonus *FTF*.
Left: 'Smiley' TB.
Took: #2 DKS Key TB.
Thanks SpeedBump07 for the cache and walk.
