Nice oldie-----------------------------------------------------------------------------Found on a quick trip around Victoria to mop up all of the counties I was missing. Had my new swag so stayed in caravan parks so I could sleep while the car charged. Was at almost 100% charge every morning, and the nights camping cost about the same as a full charge at a supercharger anyway.

05-Nov-23
Its the easiest we have found and be careful of muggles

21-Oct-23
Its still dusk and aive managed to walk up to the cache. The traffic lights were favourable, so ai managed to extract, sign and replace the cache without attracting any suspicions. Time to get back to my car and potentially stop for one more cache on the way home

*The "I Clearly Suck At Geocaching On A Bike" Adventure #4*
The plan was to ride from Werribee to Williamstown, picking up maximum numbers of Geocaches. The plan... didn't go to plan.
I had a full bag problem... I needed a bin STAT. In the hunt, apparently I rode right past "Parks of Laverton #1". Clearly my mind is not in the game.
Then I arrived at the Fitzgerald / Kororoit Creek intersection. OMG - how much rubbish is banked up on the sides of the road here?
This one turned out to be my last "normal" cache. I rode down Kororoit Creek Road (also known as THE ROAD OF PAINFULLY BLOODY DEATH) to Williamstown, where I did a couple of AdLabs. It was amazing to compare the Williamstown suburban streets to those in Hoppers Crossing I'd passed through.
Total score card for the day: 14 Geocaching finds, 515 plastic bottles (new record for me) and 499 other items picked up. I need to find a way to tow a dumpster behind my bike.
Thanks heaps for the cache, Tackle Head!

26-Nov-22
Wah! I have to rewatch that movie!

07-Nov-22
Quite hard to get to with busy roads and no footpath!! Gosh, we got there in the end, phew ‍

07-Nov-22
A big day caching in the Altona and Laverton area with pinnacle333, we were able to enjoy the sunshine at last.
We parked the car and started our journey beside the very busy road. Long grass and no footpath left us a little underwhelmed. Thanks tackle_head.

28-Oct-22
Cache is in place and ready to be found

26-Oct-22
I have wanted to find this cache for a long time, but it seemed to be in an awkward spot, especially for those without cars. Today I was in Laverton and decided to walk to it. The grass was long and wet and there was no footpath for much of the way, but I was determined to get a yellow smiley here. Woo Hoo, I can finally tick this one off.

21-Sep-22
You never get a clean go to look without a car sitting near the lights probably wondering what you’re doing . Finally got a second

25-Jul-22
Quick find as I ignored my GPS and used geosense instead. But the grass verge up to it isn't a footpath so be very careful at the extremely busy road junction.

10-Jul-21
Been meaning to take some photos of the light trails on the freeway for a while, this gave me another reason to do it. Nice easy cache Smile

10-Jul-21
Nice and easy find on a Saturday evening. The hint and then size of cache led right to GZ. TFTC!

27-Dec-20
Nice and Easy! Difficult to log (traffic)! TFTC!

28-Oct-20
This one being so close to our new home was a must get! Easy spot but felt very out of place!

25-Jun-20
A quick find, but grabbing it in between the breaks in traffic was difficult. Have done 1 other mad max cache in the city and am loving the series. Being a Non-local makes it hard though. TFTC

14-Jun-20
The sun is still out and the rain is holding off so thought I’d walk down to this one from the federation trail. I avoided the wafting smell of the Golden Arches and found a nice gap in the traffic flow to sign the log and begin the return walk to the fed trail and my car. Thanks for the cache

07-Jun-20
My first find after a long hiatus! End of social isolation, time for geocaching

Find # 8898

Down to visit sharkiefan for the weekend.
Our plan for Leap day was to attend the event at Truganina park then to get some of the caches in that area. after a long walk around and getting most of them we headed off in the hunt for other Icons to collect for this special day.

Google earth is a wonderful thing. when planning the days trip we found that looking down on the earth at this area there were hundreds of cars parked around. with both of us being curious, we drove around looking at all the new cars, trucks, vans and oddments. Being from the county it was a quite the sight.

Heading out of the industrial area we found that there was another Mad Max cache to grab. after parking up it was just a walk along the roads edge in the long grass to GZ for a quick grab.

Day 280

29-Feb-20
Found with FUF009.
We had detoured to look at the tonnes and tonnes of cars and trucks we saw on the online maps. It looked massive on the map and it was massive in reality too.
Anyway, we spotted this cache on the nearbys and off we went. We followed the instructions for parking and walked over. Pretty long grass here. Also a syringe amongst the rubbish.
Nice to find another of this series

28-Feb-20
T-Tech and I are down from Brisbane, and are heading to Tasmania tomorrow, but we have just the one day to spend in Melbourne collecting a few caches.

I remember watching this movie way back when I was a teenager! Mel Gibson was a bit of a heart-throb back then Big Grin This afternoon we were stuck in traffic for quite a while trying to reach GZ, but once we had gone past and found a safe spot to park, we wandered back and made the find. Very hard to be stealthy at just after 4pm on a Friday! TFTC, tackle_head.

28-Feb-20
Down from Brisbane on hols with IolantheK [^]
IolantheK had her sights set on a number of challenge caches in this area, some I qualify for [^] others I didn't Twisted
This one however was just the one near the caravan park for the night Razz
Nice easy find, cache dry and in good condition [^]

06-Nov-19
This was our first cache hunt after getting off the Spirit of Tasmania this morning. After parking our car at a local establishment for breakfast, we had to cross two very busy roads to get to GZ. Accurate coordinates and the hint led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks Tackle_head for the cache.

#9571 - 11:10; In Melbourne with the geoson to collect a car from the nearby dealership. Noticed this cache was too close to ignore, so set off to make the find while we waited for the paperwork to be sorted. A nice quick find and sign once I reached GZ. TFTC tackle_head Smile

26-Dec-18
Hi there tackle_head.

We started the day with "Eagle Rock", and then started to cache around the Werribee area, using a "next closest" methodology before heading off to Melton to catch up with a few 'cachers at the "Intervening Days X" event..

All up we found 9 caches & DNF'd 3 in this cache run. Thanks for placing the caches. Without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places while we meander around Australia.

**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found this cache around 3m from where the GPS said we should be looking. Wink
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing
**Left:** Nothing.

Regards

Ian & Penny.

An illegal u turn and the cache was mine.

26-Aug-18
Out for the day with my brother Snap Happy, cleaning up fun for kids series, that has been on the radar for some time. We also managed to grab a few extra caches along the way. We discovered many great and clever hides and had no DNF's amongst the finds. Some interesting scenery, in an area I don't normally travel. We didn't have any kids with us today but we still had a very successful day, with some laughs and good company.

Had to do a bit of irregular parking here to be able to find a place then wandered in close enough to grab this one. There wasn't too much traffic about, so made it a bit easier to make this quick grab, sign and returned log undetected. Nice to grab another in this series.

I am currently writing detailed logs because of a challenge provided by Project-GC. "The Author" Badge challenges geocachers to average one hundred words or more in each log. As of the start of 2018 my average was only 47 words per log, which seems a long way from the 100 target. Given that I have found so many GC caches, I have to write many logs with well over 100 words for a long period of time to get my average to the target. Apologies to anyone who finds the logs tedious but it is the only way that I can strive to attain this challenge. After over 7000 plus caches (which includes all cache finds up and including yesterday), the average log length is just over 50 words. I am now entertaining the possibility that I might be able to achieve my task before the end of next year. It's surprising how much is has increase since doing this.

Thanks tackle_head for placing the cache for us to find and doing the maintenance to keep it in play.

The CO's luck was in with a number of cachers in the proximate area to many of his caches! After attending the nearby a number of us went for a wander including the CO. By now we had finished the caches within walking distance of the event. Unfortunately, a bit too much reliance was placed on a certain navigator here and we ended up having to do a U-turn and parking by the verge.
Communication needs to be worked on, methinks.

I decided a day out caching with some Geomates was needed so I jumped in the car and headed off. First was the CITO then a couple of quick find's before i Jumped in Leafotwind's car with Ahomburg and AlphaDeltaIndigo. We headed off to Laverton for an event, and then off for a handfull of caches. TFTC.

Find #9670

Spent some time after the C.I.T.O. caching with ADI, LOTW, Jascat, nagrin, L87 and stemic. Now joined by Boatie Tim & AliFS. We started with a couple this side of town before heading to an event in Laverton, followed by a whole stack of random caches in the area and beyond.

This one involved some crazy driving, no through roads and some not so great parking. Got it in the end without incident..

Many thanks to tackle_head for the cache. TNLN.

I get to do all the fun things.
Climb trees, paddle the canoe, descend into holes in the ground, ride my bicycle up the Yarra, hike up and down mountains and ***stick my hand into dark places full of cobwebs!***
Thanks (I think) tackle_head.

This is the closest cache to the office for Crack’n’Leelee and I, and as such has been on the radar for a while. Discussions have been ongoing fir months as to how to tackle this covertly due to high traffic volumes. Today we finally bit the bullet & decided to have a crack. Pay attention to traffic sequences outside peak times and it should be easy enough, we even managed to get a pic if the bridge (almost) empty. We also rolled with the urban camouflage (high vis vest) and no-one batted an eyelid. TFTC tackle-head!

05-Feb-18
LeeLee has been planning to grab this one with BenFeeMezzChop for sometime. Drive past this spot most work days so turning it into a smilie today was very pleasing. Smile
We decided you can get away with most things in a hi-vis vest, so that we did.
Lunchtime wasn't too bad to grab this one. Was even able to get a decent photo in between light changes.
Love the Mad Max movie and series.
Easy find, cache in good condition.

22:18, 19 Sept 2017, #324 On the way home from visiting OHC on the other side of town I thought i'd come past this one as it's been on my watch list for ages and seeing its close to home and late at night the chances of very little traffic was in my favour...

Well I was right, it was very quiet and I came over the hill and just stopped short with my hazards on and quickly found, signed and returned into place, all in a matter of about 2 minutes.. haha.. yipee thats another close one off my watch list..

TFTC. and another one of the Mad Max caches done.. have to have a look at how many I have yet to find..

As we approached this one, we weren't quite sure where we were going to park. Ah, that will do perfectly. Very short walk and the cache was quickly found, signed and returned. Thanks for the cache and thanks for bringing us here.

Quick find on our way home from Mt Gambier. It got to 9pm, and we still hadn't hit Colac, so decided we'd done enough caching. I asked Lea how many we had: 894. We looked at each other and grinned - couldn't stop this close to 900! So, 6 to get before we get home. This was #6 of 6 - 900 finds!! After two DNF's in Lara (it was getting late and our will to get home was starting to outweigh our will to cache), I said to Lea, lets go. Find us a nice easy one, near the highway we can just do a quick drive by on. And so this is the one she chose. Not exactly the most spectacular cache, but find #900 none the less. TFTC Smile

Ducked out over lunch to grab a quick cache to fill my 366 calendar. On the approach via the car I was wondering where this could be. As I came over the bridge I spotted a likely suspect. A short stroll over and the cache was soon in hand. Haven't seen Mad Max...but heard plenty, and it's pretty cool to see some of the spots the movie was filmed! TFTC

I have driven past this cache on many occasions, each time considering stopping for the smiley but continuing on for various reasons. It's Sunday today, so traffic shouldn't be too bad, right? Wrong! This road is always busy Sad Anyway, I parked near Taco Bill and headed over to GZ. It was an easy find and the log was quickly signed. So far so good, now all I have to do it replace the cache without arousing suspicion. Easier said than done! I took so long that I was sure the bomb squad were going to turn up. But all good, they didn't show and eventually I managed a quick replacement of the cache in between passing cars. TFTC Smile

Heading home after a night caching in Melbourne and thought I'd drop by to grab a few in the area.
Parked nearby and walked to GZ. Spotted the cache cache straight away but had to wait for the passing traffic and wait for an opportunity to grab it. It was the same trying to replace it. Signed & replaced as found.
Thanks for this awesome series tackle head

[red]Find #2466 Traditional #1998 [/red] Big Grin

I was finally able to grab this one in the series. I'm now getting close to logging all of them. I have driven past this one many, many times but it has always been a matter of being able to stop as it is in a very difficult spot. We ended up doing a u-turn at the lights and parking on the footpath late at night, so hardly many muggles coming past. A quick grab as I guessed where it was going to be. Stamped and returned as found.

[blue]Thanks for this trad cache hide and series, tackle head. [^]
Log and container were in good condition. Smile

Found 10/01/2015 @ 21:29.
A flying trip to Melbourne to drop a friend into town saw us with a couple of hours to grab some caches. This one has been on the radar for some time but hadn't had the opportunity to make the find until now. Parked at the suggested place and wandered over. Arriving at GZ I made the comment, oh I know where it'll be! Mr. kalianda09 was quick to tell me it was written in the cache notes I had just read out loud to him. Hmm. Obviously I wasn't paying attention to what I was reading!
Thanks tackle_head for the Smile, what we've found of the series so far has been great. Looking forward to finding them all.

08-Jan-15
I tried this earlier in the day and despite seeing the cache there were too many cars going past for me to collect it. I came back as the sun was setting and had success. Looks as though nobody has found this in a while and there were a couple of spider webs when I stuck my hand in, so be careful if you go to collect this one.
This is the 4th cache I've found in the Mad Max series - I'm getting there.

06-Sep-14
Our second find of the Mad Max series, during a trip down to Melbourne for the day to see relatives. Didn't have a lot of time for caching but made sure we got a few that sounded special to us, including this one. Loved reliving the locations. It was a lovely sunny Saturday afternoon and the cars on the bridge were constant. Nevertheless we went into role-playing mode and managed to retrieve the cache, sign the log and replace it safely with no dramas. TFTC Tackle_Head.

On our way home to Geelong, we could not resist: Just one more ... It's been a long time since we last found a Mad Max cache, so it was about time.
