After a few hours of researching the Battle of Trafalgar I realised how to solve this one.
Then I had to do some googling to help me solve it, cause I didn't have any other means of solving available.
Tried a couple of times to find this one last night, but there were some boozers at the cache that seemed to have settled in for the night.
Returned this morning for a not so quick find.
Thanks.

Sailed through this one no problem but was left wondering what the heck the clue referred to.

After BruceWWNZ gave me a clue to the puzzle, got to the location fairly easily. I think I tried everything that matched the hint before I found the right one. TFTC.

Nicely themed cache… there was quite a battle at GZ, took us longer to extract the cache from its hide, than to solve the puzzle.

Worked the solution at home but forgot to bring coordinates along so had to work it out again in the car. Quite a few cars parked on the side of the road but good thing there was no one about. Found the cache in a nice hiding spot. Left jeep travel bug. Thanks Drawp.

I sweated unnecessarily over this one, trying all sorts of esoteric solutions with no luck. As I was in the area today I decided to go to the posted coordinates anyway and see if there was any clue there. Then I went for a walk just in chance in case there was anything likely in the region. By good fortune I ended up finding the cache within about ten minutes simply by trying likely spots - meanwhile I had had a brainwave and realised what the puzzle solution probably was. The actual cache coordinates confirmed it for me. Duh! Signed log, TFTC.

Awesome cache. Thoroughly enjoyed.

22-Aug-09
Solved the puzzle after making it harder for myself than I should've! Did the paperwork while collecting one of the junior cachers in the waiiti20 team who had been overnighting nearby at another local cachers residence. TFTC, nice spot.

Was sailing by at lunchtime, so decided I had better heave to and retrieve the treasure. Its good to reminded occasionally that our streets and suburbs are named for a reason, not just on a whim. Initially I wondered why my GPS pointed me to this spot...no couldn't be....maybe it is....gotcha! Nice puzzle, and nice hide.

I headed off on the wrong tack searching for an answer to the puzzle that had some relevence to the theme of the cache. as this didn,t seem to be crossing any Tees I tried a different course. Came to the battle site yesterday morning but abandoned looking as the area was teeming with muggles. Returned today to find it all quiet at GZ, had a bit of a battle retrieving the cache, no doubt the skin missing off the back of my hand will grow back soon. TFTC SL TFTC

I couldn't figure out the puzzle after a brief battle, but thought I'd try my luck on the spot.
Saw an appropriate hiding place and low and behold it was the right place.
Thank you for the cache. My 2.5 year old son enjoyed finding the treasure with me.

A joint FTF with Yeetrees (surprise surprise!). Had a look for this when it popped up last night but no success. Then a quick walk down the street this morning with the whole EU team. Who should pull up close to GZ but Yeetrees! EU had managed to solve and Yeetrees completed the locate. Left GC. TFTC Grandad.

FTF (08:16) Whoopee!!!!! , A joint FTF, TAdaa!!! Arrived at GZ with Mrs Yeetree in tow as I was having a bit of an issue trying to work this one out, it is always the easy ones that really get me bamboozled, just as we got out off our trusty Geocaching vehicle who should I notice walking down the road towards us the EU team all six in tow, so I decided to ream up with them and go to the final GZ. Standing back for a few seconds decided to look at the most obvious spot soon the cache was at arms reach. Cool spot and glad I did it went I did as I can just imagine what it will be like here later in the day.

Finally worked out what the puzzle was , and it was well put together, amazing how the British and French tactic played a major part in solving this, amazing how the battle tactics have changed so much but not so in such a short period. The use of a major tactical personnel in the navy is important to help solve this one. Cool puzzle, TFTC TNLNSL (840) also a FTF CRAZE Yeetrees came a visiting as well for a visit at sea. Let the battle commence!!

When I arrived at the cache location, I thought I was going to have to give this one a miss as there was a leisure activity going on that had a good number of participants and spectators involved. I stealthily figured out where the cache was likely to be hidden and decided I could have a go after all if I chose a time when the activity was not so close to GZ. It turned out to be quite easy in the end thanks to the well chosen site. I left a penguin and took the Masters of Cache GeoCoin with a view to relocating it to the Bay of Plenty. I am a bit disappointed to see the puzzle described as "simple"; I thought I deserved more credit than that. Wink
