I had a look for this one today, but couldn't find it. There was a man and his dog further down the road, so I didn't want to be suspicious for too long, so only had a short search. I'll be back for this one.
Found tyftc. Having a week caching our way from newcastle to brisbane. Find #1/1705
Grafton - McLean
Today was a day of moving camp. We're camped at the Mclean showgrounds to cache here & over to Illuka.
A lot of scenic water ways & wonderful ocen views, even spotting a whale while doing a cache.
A pleasant day with fish & chips for lunch beside the river.
Nobody in sight, I expected to see houses close by after reading the last log.
Thanks for placing this cache Magpyre

Found at 11:31 AM GAFF2.
2 years after our last visit and we walked straight up to the cache and found it this time. Co-ords were spot on and it makes a difference when the cache is actually there for us
To get to this cache today while dragging our van was a bit of an ordeal. We were camped at the Maclean Showgrounds and it was a mere 4.8 kms straight line to this cache. However 23 kms later we were at GZ wondering how we were going to turn the van around in these narrow lanes
Thanks Magpyre.

It was teeming rain as we arrived and the GPS was telling me where it had to be, but it took a while from under my umbrella before I saw the container, which was nano sized and very hard to see. They were cutting cane on the way out here and we spent a long time watching them cut and load the cane into small trucks, then transporting that up the road to huge hoppers which were pulled onto semi trailers. One of the people servicing the machinery was very obliging and explained how it all worked and why they burned the cane before cutting. Thanks Magpyre for a good, if isolated, hide, and for bringing us out here for this excellent experience.
Searched around for a while and then read previous logs and got a hint. cache found and signed.
Glad DiamonJs bought along some helpful stuff even my advantage was not enough today. TFTC
Luckily we had brought along some TOTT as they were needed here. Another new road travelled. TFTC.
A quick park and grab on a glorious sunny day. Being tall does have its advantages at times. TNLN SL TFTC
Today Fangsoki, Pprime, Crew 153 and myself decided to get together for a daytrip south of the border, picking up some generally older geocaches but little else in the way of plans. Having come south via the Lions Road then Kyogle, we headed through Casino and out here to the Clarence area. Having made two stops in Maclean, we were after a few of the Islandhopper series that we could drive to. I'm surprised I've never found any before today, and would like to find them all. I like series like this!
Getting to this one was an big, odd loop of roads. Roadworks helped with that and I think there was only raised voices about 3 times in the turn by turn navigation discussions. Slightly getting lost, down narrow roads, across bridges and through canefields we went. Three of us had never found this one before. There wasn't a lot of places for it to be hidden, which was nice as we were wary of the house within view. Within a short amount of time I came up with the goods and the logbook was signed. Another find in the series and now to wend ourselves back out of Ashby! Thanks for this geocache, Magpyre

Out today driving with Fangsoki, Captain Terror and Crew153. On the 'want-list' was this little series, so the hopping of islands took place. Next up was this spot and after ransacking the obvious spots the blighter was spotted and extracted.
Thanks for placing this cache, Magpyre. Found in good condition.

I was with Fangsoki, Pprime and Captain Terror on a day trip from Brisbane. We were targeting some of the older caches in the area. This cache was one that we found on the way.
We had to drive in a big loop to get to GZ.There were some road works in progress on the way which delayed us for a while.
There was not many spots to search at the location but it still took some time before the cache was located.
Thanks for the cache Magpyre

I only ever visit this area once every 2 or 3 years. I normally visit when this cache has been muggled. Today, I have had success. Cache found and signed. Thanks Magpyre
This one was definately not in place so it has been replaced with a nice little nano for the next finder.

Didn't realize till after the find that it had so many DNF's, but cache has been replaced TFTC.
DNF at 10:44 AM. Well here we go, we are on our way to break our all time record of 3 DNF's in a row? We certainly will if we do any more of Computer Mans caches So lets do someone else's and what do you know [B)]
This cache has not been found for nearly 2 years There are not that many places to look in, but we missed it or it has been washed away in the floods.

Found with the cold wind and rain blasting in our eyes. For the caches safety and the cachers comfort, took it back to the vehicle to sign. TFTC Maypyre.
New logsheet!!! feels like a ftf, thanks Aussie Liahone, SL, TFTC Magpyre for the series
Thanks for the nice caches you've placed around this pretty countryside Magpyre. This is another one we found today. Log had only one space left so we put in a new GS cache log so it's good again for some time. Another of the Islandhopper series found!
Continuing on our collective road trip North we went to a few areas we don't usually get to when holidaying with families. Nice to see the 'new scenery'.

(Late logging of Find - 1/2/13) Found with MAP's and Cookie while on a road trip North.
Nice to be able to share the driving rather than having to pedal.
Think I will have to get some more Terrain 1 caches.

Able to supply a replacement for the owner of this cache so it is up and running and there for any one who wants to take the trip out to this interesting area. I was determined to knock over as many of the Islandhoppers I could on this trip to Maclean. I'll be back to tackle the rest of the series another time. Love this area and really appreciate the series of caches out here for us visitors to find.
Huge Apology for this one...... When I found the extremely small container and took the top off it, the top slipped out of my hands and into the knee high long grass.. Half hour search, and pulling out grass still failed to find the top .. Extremely embarrased that I have messed this one up. Might need to replace it with a bright yellow one. Soooo Sorry.
Luckily I was just tall enough to grab this one without needing the help of geopoppy.
the Northern Territory is full of these little blighters

Found by Greg. WOW! Even smaller microcache. If the get any smaller we will have to invent a pen than can write even smaller! Very clever hide. Many TFTC
#75. Nice quick find. Second one of the morning. A little worried on approach as sugar cane workers nearby - but having morning tea so happened to be out of the line of vision. Must admit I don't like these tiny ones as I have a lot of GCs to send on their journey, with nowhere to drop them at the moment.
Second cache for the day, second attempt and got a this time. Don't know how I missed it the first time. And no black dog to play fetch either this time.

Another of Magpyre's Caches today and another success. Today has taken us to places we haven't taken the time to cruise around before which has been great. Thanks
I dont think the car had stop when i jumped out and found this cache nice drive to GZ TFTHSL
Ahh I see this has eluded many - and it very nearly eluded me. I spent a bit of a time hunting high and low. Checked the logs. And then something dawned on me. Inspected closely.. ahhh yes.. there is the beast. Retrieved and signed the log. Glad to have gotten this one. TFTC Magpyre
Decided to upgrade the difficulty rating. After receiving a number of DNF's I have checked on Islandhopper 5 a couple of times.. It IS still in place even after the floods so I upped the difficulty.

I enjoyed the cruise in the geomobile to the end of the road
The three amigos were waiting patiently for me.
None of the amigos were forthcoming with a cache though [:o]
Hasta La Vista Cachey !!

Checked on this cache after flood and it is still in place and quite dry. I may need to increase the difficulty rating after a number of dnf's.

The first cache for the day and it was a DNF. I did however make friends with a black dog, who dropped a stick at my feet to play fetch.

I was left standing in the middle of the road(GZ) & nothing around for 20 metres in any direction. I agree with Virjohn this may be gone, field has been cleared of cane sugar
No luck all signs and upright things have been knocked about a bit by graders and road works.
We think it's a gonna.

Looked high and low for this one. From what we read of other peoples finds we were looking in the right place but not sure if its still there.
Nice easy find. It's always good to have a few of these to speed you on your way. TFTC Magpyre. Log book is full by the way.
Nearly lost this one in the grass, but luckily we caught it in time.

found it but then dropped it took awhile to find but was still a good cache SL TFTC
Tftc converting some muggle friends. Someone dislodged it with a stick and then lost it in long grass . How long does it take 6 adults to find a micro ? How long is a piece of string ???
This one was a good cache to grab as we were on our way to Maclane> it was confusing at first because the GPS was pointing in the totally opposite direction to the cache. After getting a bearing the cache was right at our feet or face you could say as it wasn't ground level. Great cache! TFTC
A very pleasant drive, although it was in the dark, (see Island Hopper 4 for explanation).
