On the road with NZ_B, graciesGPSfun and Nosynel. Had heard of this school but didn't know its actual location so thanks for bringing us here.

Thanks for hiding this cache Drawp I appreciate it. The sun has come out
Yay. It's so much nicer caching in the sun. This is as far down the road as we are going.

Now that rain has stopped I can do my next 50 in a day challenge for the DGSc. . This is number 18.
We were told some of the history of the nearby vacated school and came to investigate. Thanks for hiding a cache nearby
We have been on a great 4x4 trip with club. Went in Danseys Pass and came out on private farm track following the Otekaieke river. Spectacular now to Kurow so stopped for caches on this road as it's lunch break.
What an impressive building up the drive got photo up the road between trees.
Thanks for this cache Drawp.

I've always wondered where this school was and now I know. The satellite view shows up the large number of buildings associated with the school. All good with the cache.
Couldn't see anyone about so made the quick find and off again. Looks like it was quite a place in its heyday. TFTC # 15,572
Decided to make a trip to Duntroon over the Dansey Pass. Lots of logs to find and sign and this one was one of them. Day and it begins again. TFTC
#15704. There are quite a collection of buildings here (shame the historic one isn't easy to see). TFTC.
Found with StreetWalker on day 2 of our Queens Birthday weekend, on a most enjoyable Waimate - Kurow - Waimate round trip. It turned out to be a good choice to head inland as the weather was fine (though cold!) until we reached the coast on the last stage of our journey.
Another magnificent North Otago building. Sadly, not very easy to see from the road, so thanks for the photo on the web page. TFTC.

After a lovely weekend in Omarama for a caching/tramping weekend with BCD it was time to head home. A quick lunch stop in Kurow and off we go again. TFTC

We had joined the North Otago Mountain Bike Club on their ride from here up the historic Otakaieke Bridle Track and back on a loop through private farmland - a wonderful scenic place to explore. So this was the one cache 'to show we were here'. We've read about Mr Campbell but never made time to detour to see the house - so glad to be here at last - thank you for the interesting info on the cache page.
We found the cache in the open on the grass and a hole broken in the corner of the container. Luckily all is dry inside. Since the hedge has been removed, there is no cover and the mower must have hit it on the way past. The groundkeeper found it and signed the logbook a while back!
We have wrapped the logbook in a bag, and wrapped the entire cache in another bag to keep it waterproof.
We have re-hidden the cache in a slightly different place, still on public land, 2 m from the original site, where hopefully it will be less obvious and safe from being mown.

The hedge has recently been cut but all is still good with this cache. Found with Aoraki Sheep.
I had heard of Campbell Park School before but didn't know where - now I do! Found with debsnz
This was a bit too close for comfort to the house, with laundry drying also... Hedge a little munted as mentioned previously, but cache hiding at GL. TFTC!!
I convinced Sunroller to accompany me on a tour of the caches around Duntroon, Earthquakes and other parts on the way to Kurow. We had a ball.
Cheers for the cache.

Headed down south with C&D and 11HPG11 for the CHCH Mega as part of the HOAC team, and decided that a Mega road trip/Mega Mission was the right thing to do. After a great day caching from Dunedin to Omarama we manged to get a few hours sleep before the big day 2 started.
Day 2 was the start of a ambitious plan to try and find as many caches as possible in one day! To maximise our chances of a big number we decided a 24 hour caching day was the only way to go. What an epic day, and some great moments too. The rough idea was to cache from Omarama to Oamaru, and then head north towards Christchurch. A huge thanks to everyone for the cache placments, and I apologise for the copy and past logs.
Find #65 for the day.

This was the start of a MEGA caching weekend in the company of good caching friends. In the company of both HKCB & 11HPG11 this was going to be another memorable caching road trip for many reasons.
This is the mission that we had set ourselves up for several months back. It was HKCB's idea, I was just dumb enough to think it was a challenge and I'd be up for it, 11HPG11 was silly enough to come along for the ride once we confirmed a spare seat (Nova Lightening pulled out for family reasons).
We were going to try to beat the NZ one day record in New Zealand (it would have been easier with 4 people), so after 2.5hrs sleep after a good feed at Omarama we were ready to go. This was the sixty fourth on what was to be an epic day with what amounted to 401 caches collected for the day and about 38 DNF's. We managed this with 10minutes to spare but by this time we were done for and still had to drive back to Kaiapoi. All in all an epic days caching with good friends and something I don't think any of us will repeat in a hurry.
All in all it was going to be a big day with a number of challenges, great sceanery, and of course great company. Fantastic driving along and up here as the landscape was so different from what we are used to back in the Waikato. One good thing about backroads being that we could continue our neferious activites without being disturbed by muggles.
Nice quick find here without any issues .
thanks for the placement , thanks for the cache

What a Mega Mission for a group of Hamilton Over Achievers! A great trip, a long time in the planning. I teamed up with Cats&Dragons and HKCB to grab a couple of caches while in Christchurch and surrounding areas for the 2015 Mega Event. We flew out from Auckland on Friday night and traveled to Dunedin in the dark of the night. Stopped for a few hours sleep before setting off to grab caches in the Otago area on Saturday before attempting a few more on Sunday and then arriving at the Mega on the Monday. An amazing, yet crazy road trip
When C&D mentioned a day with over 400 caches I should have turned and ran... instead I said yes, and here we are. 401 caches in 23 hours and 50 minutes. All done on about 2.5hr of sleep. It was hard work with only 3 of us and there were times that were hard and tiring but I still had a blast! An amazing experience that one has to be slightly crazy to even consider
No problems on this one, thanks for the placement. Easy to search here in the dark!

My work had brought me here many years ago. It is a pity the complex isn't open to the public as there are many impressive buildings within.
Found with Chosen1978. Remembered coming to Campbell Park back in the 70s (not as an inmate). Buildings are still impressive, would liked to have been able to get closer and see what its like now.
Spotted this one and though had to go for it, as Granville86a and drove up to the Estate he realised he had been here a number of years ago making deliveries. Stunning area, would be a great place to explore, going to do some research on the Estate and what is happening there now. Thanks for brining us to this place!!
We had hoped to drive up to the old school. We were sad to find it closed. Mr Guzzi did a job here and had lunch with the boys in the mid 70's. One of the boys at the table had a tattoo and when Mr Guzzi asked how he did that he was told with an alarm clock and ink. It was a school for delinquent boys at that stage. The buildings are worth seeing. Pity we couldn't get close.
13370… Pretty Impressive place, an interesting read about its history, thanks for showing us.
The female part of hill55 remembers that as a school girl in Kurow came here for a dance when it was the school.
Nice easy find, luckily no one in the house nearby.

What an amazing place and thank goodness for geocaching to bring us to such a brilliant place and a great piece of NZ history. While we were here we were trying to bring a memory to the surface. Finally remembered a friend of ours worked here during the 1970s and 80s. A favourite from us.
Great to see this lovely old building. I remember (Geomum that is) visiting here when I was 3 years old, my parents knew the couple who did the caretaking for the school back then. TFTC.
After my holiday i'm back in NZ and what you can do on a sunny day!
So i search some one the way to Omaru.
And this is agaim a good example why i like caching.
Never seen and known anything about this interesting place without this cache.

Annie remembers when it was a school. What a busy place this has been throughout it's history, but seemed rather peaceful & quite today. TFTC
What a cool spot for a cache. In the first spot I checked.
Thanks for placing this cache!

Out on my first all day caching, Dunedin to Kurow and return how many can I get? Number 38. #180
This required a bit of stealth and distraction by other half while I got the cache. TFTC
Found out in the open looks as if hedge has been recently trimmed so have regidden it where it should be. TFTC
It is amazing the amount of land that these early 'sheep kings' came to control. Campbell is another of the ilk of “Readymoney” Robinson – who controlled a large tract of land around Cheviot. I noted that many of the houses are vacant but someone is obviously doing the rounds mowing all the lawns and keeping the entire 'village' very tidy. Interesting area. Thanks for the cache.
Wow, impressive shack up here! It'd be awesome to be able to tour these old places, the cost to keep them up must be terrible. TNLN Thanks
A quick find on a big caching day from Christchurch with Kiwi Moose. Nice digs. Thanks for the hide.
Wow I could spot the large building as I drove up and the cache left me wanting to see a bit more. I now see there's a pic on the cache page and I'll go check GE for another look. Interesting site, thanks.
this is wow factor, even though we can only view from the gate.awesome.thank you.
3111. We are still impressed by these buildings on our second visit for a cache.
Thanks

A quick easy find at a location we have visited previously for another cache. TFTC
Found all safe & sound on second visit. Suspiscious muggles scared us off first time round. TFTC
Skipped this one due to unwanted interest from a maintenance muggle in the nearby property.
Second time to this spot in a year. They definitely don't want callers if the terse wording of the signs is anything to go by.
fantastic UN-PC street name cheers for the quick find
