ma première cache! excitant!

Visiting off cruise ship Carnival Spirit. We were here 34 years ago with our 2 boys then aged 4 & 2. We spent quite a bit of time on Anse vate beach then. We were keen to see how much has changed in the intervening years and to grab some caches of course.
We elected to use the Hop on Hop Off bus to get around.
We hopped off the bus near the former Club Med. Mrs C decided to stay there while I went up the hill to search for the caches. It was a steep climb but there were plenty of trails to follow which seemd to be better than following the road up, much more enjoyable too.
For GZ easy enough and quickly spotted the cache in a familiar hide. TNSL, left 2 halfpennies. I enjoyed this find. Merci beaucoup fafalemarin68

Found during a stopover in town on the Carnival Spirit during a 10 night cruise of the Pacific Islands.

We made our way up to this location on a tourist train and while everyone jumped off to take a look at the scenery I made the mad dash down the hill to locate this one.

A great little spot to take in some nice views and then back up to the train to continue our tour of Noumea.

TNLN and thanks fafalemarin68 for the cache.

Planned on getting this cache during the stop-over on our cruise. Organized with the guide on our tour that we would be attempting the cache and he said they would wait , but only a little. On arriving close to GZ, us3scouts and i took off down the hill. Unfortunately we only speak rudimentary French and read even less, after a short look a couple of people approached down the track so we thought to ask if they could translate for us. Just as the lady started to read the clue us3scouts called out she had found it, so we said our thanks. Signed the log and then up the hill we went, a bit harder then going down. On arriving at the top we only had time for a short nature stop, a drink and a photo of our two bears (Scout Bear and Roo's Ted) on the gun and it was off to continue the tour. TFTC fafalemarin68.

Noumea was the first stop on our cruise holiday and we were happy that there was a cache here on our tour for us to find. Seirra1 and I took off from the top of the hill as fast as we could go and arrived at GZ but due to the cloud cover it took a little while to pinpoint and find the cache. Signed the log quickly and replaced the cache. Wow, it was steep going back up and we only just got there in time to catch the train again. There's a lovely view from the top! Thanks for the cache fafalemarin68. Big Grin

MPLC

Our english is not good but we try... Found it in a cloudy day when we stop with Rhapsody of the Seas... Thanks for the cache...

The day before, on the ship I came in on, I buggered my knee playig pool volleyball. so on the ships tour I was excited that two of the stops had a cache nearby, but hoped that my crutches allowed me to get to them :/ not so on this one, so I had to send in my muggle father to find it. Gah

Myself and triciac2 are on a P&O cruise onboard the Pacific Jewel. Big Grin
Our shore tour took us right to this one. Smile
As soon as we pulled up dashed off following the GPSr and eventually found the cache after a few turns of the track. Quite steep in places but otherwise an OK walk. Smile
I swapped 2 tb's for the 2 in the cache. Smile
Thanks for the cache.

Cat and Bear were in Noumea for a day after arriving on the Carnival Spirit cruise ship. Did the Noumea in a Nutshell tour and was very happy that the bus stopped for about 10 mins. Smile
With less than 200 metres to the cache we both went down the hill to find the cache. There are numerous tracks and eventually bear made the find woo hoo this is the 12th country we have cached in Big Grin

Now the exciting bit we knew we only had a few mins to get to the bus. As here are so many tracks we were lost and didn't know which was the right track to go back up so we look a track that went up and hoped for the best.At that very moment Cat smashed he right knee on a rock as the path was slippery so struggling to get up bear decided to go to the bus and tell them to wait for me. Eventually Cat go to the top so out of breath it was a struggle to get on to the bus.

Not sure how long they waited for us but hey we got the cache and a smiley for New Caledonia [^]

TNLN TFTC didn't see any trackables in the cache!

Yee Ha... My first international cache and a great walk to GZ to add to the pleasure... [^]

After a failed attempt yesterday at Fort Tereka, I decided an early morning stroll was in order to have a go at this one. I took off from the hotel and found a steep but manageable track to GZ. I passed a few dog walking muggles en route but otherwise, things were quiet up here this morning...

I found GZ quickly, given the tell tale sign, and unearthed my first cache outside Australia... Big Grin I grabbed the container and headed a little further up the hill behind GZ to stay clear of muggles while I sorted out the official side of things... Wink

Once open, I placed my sticker in the log and added a swag of trackables and a couple of Path Tags that were designed by a group of us back in Queensland. All done, I tucked the container away and continued up the hill to take in the views and history. It's amazing what you come across with this sport. I never knew the Australians nipped over in World War II to set this place up and train the locals... Gotta love that about the game... [^]

A great walk and nicely placed cache. I thoroughly enjoyed the visit to this area.

Cheers fafalemarin68.
