Considering the number of DNF's and the fact that it's not a difficult find I will have to check on this as soon as I get time to head up to the hills....standby
could not find- found signs of a cache having been placed here but me thinks it may have been absconded with- searched for ages and eventually gave up
(512) Another nice easy drive by, even stopped to have a cup of soup.. Such a nice day.. TFTC, SL..
A quick easy find on a sunny morning with a magnificent view of the mountains. TFTC

First stop on the 'Let's escape the rain and go to the sunny West Coast caching expedition'. Now out of the rain and could almost access the cache without leaving the cachemobile - had to walk 2m as I parked too far away. Thanks for the cache.
We have never stopped here before, but today we did.A van load of Muggles arrived as we were signing the Log Book, but they were to busy taking their photos of each other that they didn't notice what we were up to.TN Left a little fish, quite appropriate for this part of the river.TFTC
[A nice easy find but probably a bit too easy.]It might be a bit less obvious if it was on the river side of the rock.[Cheers Bo]
Cold and windy here this morning so wasted no time finding logging and replacing the cache. TFTC
Great spot for a 'cuppa'. Great spot for a cache - even on a rainy day. ... "Are we mad," from the back seat!!! TNLN. TFTC
Easy found on the way to Christchurch at the end of our holiday. TFTC

Sign is just slightly misplaced, up by the Waimak falls or back of Mt Rolleston would be more technically correct of course. But no matter, I prefer it where it is, makes a nice easy drive by to grab the associated cache.

Jsut a trickle today - barely enough for the Coast to Coast starting in a days time.
No problems. The information board is a bit light on actual facts isn't it; seems full of puff.
Well, in all the times TT has been past here, this particular spot has never been visited. Very interesting and nice hide and camo. TFTC
First glimpse of sunshine here, after a morning of torrential rain en route from Greymouth. Lots of muggles about but managed to find and replace cache without being observed. TFTC.
An easy find the difficulty was putting it back when a bus load of tourists arrived. TFTC
The first cache of the trip to the Coast. A great day up in the hills with the river only slightly higher than normal. TNLN Thanks.
Found on my way to Arthur's Pass. Wouldn't stopped here without the cache.

Thought this would have made a nice camp spot. stopped and looked around then headed further west before realising we were right on the cache. Quick find. lovely spot. Camped nearby. TNLN TFTC
Was a beautiful sunny day, with the snow capped mountains & great to be here to absorb it all. #950
I had better luck finding this one - compared to the other cache that was not too far away!! The familiar peaks at the head of the Waimak were still topped with recent snow, all very clear in the mid-afternoon light. I duly studied the info board, and contemplated the fact that I've tramped up this valley 25 - 30 times over the last 44 years. And I'm always ready for the next trip. I chose this one for my 1700th cache, as I know that valley very well, and the whole area has lots of great memories. Now, the Waimakariri actually starts much further up at Waimak Col - should I place a cache there, I wonder? Took the "5" TB and left a Sasquatch TB. Many thanks and cheers from Grandalf(1700)
A great place to stop on the way to Arthur's Pass. Good views today but still cold and breezy so I didn't hang about too long. A nice straightforward find; a group of sightseers didn't venture far enough from their vehicle to give me any problems. Dropped off Just 5 Words coin in a suitable cache. Many thanks.
Followed the Pinot Noir's example and made this a drive by. Stopped here and had our bread & cheese for tea on our way over to Christchurch.

Realised - driving past October 2010, that I hadnj't logged this from October 2009! So done now
The first cache of the day. Travelling from West to East coast. We made this a drive by. TNLN TFTC
nice easy find pity the weather was packing in though becuase we missed out on what was sure to be mint views through the pass. tftc
I would really like to have got up there for the FTF, but couldn't justify the trip at the moment. But next time...
FTF! A quick stop on our way to Christchurch. Cache was in hand within seconds followed by a small snow fight with what was left on the ground. Took TB TFTC
Dropped off a TB to be moved along, not quite in line with the TB's mission, but oh well!
