Logs
It has been many years since we visited this peaceful reserve with majestic views.
The experience was as enjoyable as expected, and we certainly enjoyed the construction of this cache.
The log was a collection of paper scraps, but as we had our cache repair kit in the car, we replaced the log with a micro log strip, and new bag.
Thanks for encouraging us to come here today.

A fun little cache in a spot with wonderful views. Thanks for giving us another reason to visit.
That was fun! Beautiful view! Fun to find. Best one yet I reckon.

Tufty, Vistra and I were on a day trip picking up the Icon series, but once we had collected them all we were not finished for the day, these caches were close by.
Clever set up but another tool other than what was suggested worked just as well and we soon had the cache in hand.
Thanks for the cache and bringing us to this lovely park.

Yorkshirekiwi83 and Vistra decided to accompany me down to the Waikato for a day of caching to pick up the ICON series of puzzles and any other caches in the vicinity of which this happens to be one of them.
A great day with great views .
Cheers for the cache.

Out for a caching day in the Waikato, together with Yorkshirekiwi83 and Tufty, with our primary focus being the NZ icons series. While driving around we stopped here to locate this cache - soon discovered it and found a suitable tool nearby for retrieval. Thanks for the nice little cache - a favourite point added!
cool little find shame it was raining. we did get a bit of a view would be an awesome place to come on a nice day hav a picnic:-)
It's several years since I have been up here and a lot of work has been done since then. Thanks for bringing me back.
A quick find while in the area, no problems retrieving cache with a nearby object. Cheers! nice views as always
It was bitterly cold here today. The view was awesome though. I never new about this spot and enjoyed the trip to GZ. The hide is very cleaver and unlike any others I've seen before. Thankfully the cache was accessible without the need for a tool as I would have been caught out. TFTC.
After finding a couple of easy caches in town, we decided to go a bit farther afield and try these four caches in the Maungakawa reserve. Under the watchful eye of a nearby farmer, we stealthfully searched the GZ and located a likely hiding spot. A quick inspection and the cache was located. Fortunately we had an appropriate tool on hand and so were able to log this one too. That's three for the day. Thanks for the cache - and for the setting with such great views.
Out and about with Team Welsh on a bit of a drive around the country roads in the Waikato. I needed a getaway for a day and this was a great little side-trip. Thanks.
Didn't have the recommended tool of the trade but certainly came up with a way of retrieving the cache. Thanks
I just bought a bike and the pick up was on the road leading up here... How convenient.
The cache was quickly found and was hanging outside the barrel. The views up here were spectacular. We watched some approaching rain laden clouds before deciding to move on... Great location. TFTC.

Great spot, walk up here regularly. Was looking for a spot to drop Daisy off but container not big enough. TFTC
A revisit today for the Peak Performance Challenge. Someone has sprayed all the weeds up here which made locating the geodetic mark nice and easy. Great views - as always! Cache still in good order.
Many thanks

Found when out with Dad, who just happened to have a telescopic magnet. I managed to get the cache without it then had to put it back to make use of the tool!

Another amazing new place. Thanks geocaching! Only had a short time to get up here so will have to come back for the other caches in the area. Thanks for the unique cache container too, very funny.
Liked the novel cache. Had my upmarket magnet on a stick so got to play with it after initially retrieving with fingers. . TFTC
Got it just on sunset ... a bit of push rather than pull did the trick :^) ... TFTC
What great views, and a neat place to come to. A well placed cache - a favourite for me. TFTC
Unique cache. We have been here lots of times, but was a great excuse to come up again.
An imaginative container in a neat hide. Good all round views until the eclipse made it a little dark.
It was a good hiding spot and we didn't put it back in as far as it was. By Tahlia
It was a beautiful day to enjoy the drive & the view. What an interesting & beautifully kept area.
A quick find. TFTC

We were dropping our pet lambs (Charlie & Daisy) back to the adjoining farm and decided to grab a couple of caches. Junior found it quick. TFTC
Taking the long way to Auckland through the back blocks of Morrinsville and Cambridge. Nice drive. This was the 3rd cache for the day. Hiding spot was pretty obvious and I only just managed to retrieve the cache. The view over the green grass and peaceful cattle to the lake and mountain in the distance were pretty good too.
Very novel,i loved it.Having worked in the auto industry most of my life i just happened to have a telescopic magnet used for retrieving dropped nuts or bolts. Thankyou, it worked a treat.
Looking for a nice Sunday drive we chose this cache and had a lovely view of our house way in the distance. Must return on a summers day to take advantage of the reserve and find the other caches hiding up here.
I grabbed the cached further down the hill and inputted the coords for this one.... to drive or to walk.... oh heck its time i stop being lazy and go for a bit of a run. I started running to this cache and half way up the hill started to think that walking would have been a better idea. Reaching the top was great for two reasons. 1. no more running and 2. the view was great. 360 degrees of great waikato scenery. After reading the hint and looking around the cache was soon located and was easily pulled out without any tools needed. Signed the dry log and replaced ready for the next cacher to find.
Another truly great spot and the run down was so much faster. Back to the car, smile on my face and smiles for the area. Great job.

Was walking along trying to figure out new gps unit, got to the top and had a shock when I looked up to see amazing views. Today we could see Taranaki, Ruapehu and Te Aroha. TFTC and great comedy cache!

Thanks to Cameron's little fingers and a tool supplied by Joseph, we extracted the cache. Signed and got our skates on to grab the next! T4TC!
This is the sort of spot, that keeps us caching. Awesome views and the other 3 carloads of people, happened to know us!! Nice catch up on the hill top and small world. SL. TFTC.
Happy New Year - Nice easy cache - good hide - lovely area which I had never visited before TFTC
Found it... had to kill the wasps nest to get at it... Liked the way the cache was hidden. Thanks
Note: Log paper is full and will need replacement / add on next visit.

Never knew this area existed. Quick and easy find, while escaping the pre Christmas maintenance chores around the house, TFTC
Quick find, not so quick retreive. Managed to make a makeshift tool outta some grass. TFTC.
Yep great views from up here. The log is well past its used by date and needs to be maintained, but a good hide in a great location. TFTC
My mate hanjac will tell you I am a complete sucker for a great view from gz and this one ranked as epic. Probably no finer piece of grassland on the planet than that you can see from here. Topped off with a bit of kiwi ingenuity to extract the cache. Will add this to my favourites. TFTC
Nice to come back up here to see the great views after 30 years away. Good place for a walk. TFTC
Haha, brilliant container - my car's jack handle came in handy while retrieving this neat cache! This is my most favourite spot in NZ, so amazing to stand here and see the amazing 360 degree views - from Putaruru where I grew up, to Te Awamutu where I live, tothe greater Waikato. Even Ruapehu is visible on clear still days! (depends where you stand, but it's sort of on the right of Maungatautiri, in a slight dip in the mountainside/skyline). Great cache, thanks!
Cold and blustery at GZ and although we soon figured out where the cache was hidden we had to retreat to the cachemobile for some TOTT. Also had to contend with the resident wasps who tagged along for a ride! Great cache T4TC.
Never got round to doing this one.
I like this one very cute. Mrs Toffee worked it out and Mr Toffee recieved - cool.
Good one - TFTC Toffeez score again.

Redefines "quart in a pint pot" or its metric equivalent. Coat-hanger to the rescue again. TFTC
Didn't realise I needed a tool till I was at GZ and reading the cache description, soon fashioned one to do the job.

Failed to find tool, but did find a sturdy enough weed, had more trouble getting the log book out of the cache, nice drive to the top

12.10pm - Didnt take too long to have this one in our hands even though we had many onlookers in the paddock next door
We visited sanatorium hill and were close to this cache.
It was difficult to find even after reading the logs. First we found the tool and with the help of brother in law Johan the cache.

Retrieved the cache after a little thought. Not sure we had the right tool, but it worked anyway. TFTC
Was in the area, but didn't had the cache in the Oregon.
I had the coords in the Tomtom but was a bit stumped near GZ.
PAF but he was telling me about a flat rock with a tree and a grassy reserve.
Not where I was standing !
Found out at home that the rock was a little bit more down hill.
Nice reserve any way.
