I am regretfully archiving this cache since there's been no response from nor action by the cache owner within the time frame requested in the last reviewer note.
Hi 5wheels
This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit and after my previous reviewer note, there has been no owner response. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).
I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.
Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.
Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.

I found one of the first containers at WP1, but not the second as others have mentioned...
It won’t be much longer that this Rusty old container stays alive, so I’m attaching a photos of the text just in case anyone wants to use it to try to solve it.
Maintenance needed here

WP1 is practically dissolved away and missing one half of it.
This multi needs some work to be back on action!
This multi needs some work to be back on action!
Would love to try for this multi again as will be nearby this Saturday.......Sadly it hasn't been found for over 2 years ....and hasn't been fixed up since the last comments....
Second the previous log. Only found the first half of WP1, which is in marginal condition. Nothing found for second half.
This Multi definitely needs maintenance. I found one of the (pretty rusty) eclipse mint tins with a clue on it, but not the other one. I also found the velcro fasteners (on both sides) where I assume the tins used to be attached to. But I couldn't find the second one and the clue didn't tell me much to be honest. I also found a fallen tree, but no marks on it.
Its MrsNZT's birthday today and as a birthday wish we headed out to do some caching this morning. After a cooked breakfast we headed to music point to tidy up some unfound caches on our map.
After a quick coffee break in Howick we carried on caching and decided to give this one a go, after finding 1 of the clues we briefly looked for the second but the ground underfoot was really slippery. I said to MrNZT that previous logs and the hint were probably enough to get us to the final and before long the cache was in hand. Neat little park here and some pretty impressive houses around here! TFTC!

In need of points to obtain the planetary souvenirs we decided to tackle a few of the multis out East. We arrived at GZ and started our search. Quickly located 2 of 2, but found nothing other than the attachment for 1 of 2. We were close to abandoning when we decided to read a few past logs and decided that we would be able to solve the little multi. Arrived at GZ , definitely a bit slippery. Now the search was on. We looked high and we looked low for the hint but could not locate. In the meantime the mozzies did a great job of locating us. It was definitely a feast for them !! Literally one final look turned up the cache. It was only then the hint was located. Could without doubt benefit from some TLC from the cache owner. Very pleased to be moving on. Nonetheless TFTMC
Great Cache! Found Clues, Then Figured Out Puzzle Then To Final! Signed Logbook and went to find Ice cream! TFTC

We had managed to complete the stages to this one quite a while back, probably about over a year ago, and finally we managed to have a crack at the retrieving the final.
We could easily see the structure that the cache was hidden on from the bridge where the two way-points were located, so it was just a matter of searching it until the cache was found. After reaching the structure, it was just a matter of searching around for the X, but could we find it? No, but we did find the cache though. It was very exposed and in a rather a precarious position on the structure. We were not sure if it should have been there or not, but it didn't stop us from retrieving it.
The log was signed and the cache replaced back where it was found, this time with a bit of cover so that it is not exposed, and also wedged in a bit more so that it was not so precarious.

Took a while to find the X but cache was then soon in hand, signed and replaced.
I went out and about today in the glorious winter sun picking up a few Multis out East. Both items at the bridge were quite quickly located... one by me and one by my son , but I was a bit perplexed by the puzzle! After thinking about it and then also using the 2nd hint we located GZ. After much scrambling around my son said "there's the X"... sure enough a very faint X but most eyes wouldn't see it. After that the cache was quickly found but I think luck played a big part in this one! TFTC
Second visit today to complete this. On first visit, scrambled in the mud at one end in vain. Tried the other end, saw the item in a visible position. Aha, returned to other end and found item in similar position. Had both items, but couldn't solve problem. Then dinner called. Read logs and hint. Came back today, found suitable place matching drawkcab hint, checked perimeter in vain. Reread hint - aha, used the preposition in the hint to adjust angle, found a flat spot with 2 small rusty nails where marker could have been, and close by was the cache. Nice and dry, complete with pencil and sharpener. Thanks. Signed and replaced. Thanks to the CO for setting this one up, very well done. Still need to solve the puzzle though, luckily this can be completed without a solve. TFTC
3.25am - First end message getting hard to read so might need a little attention. Once able to retrieve next message and answer solved could soon see where cache was located. Bit of a search and had cache. SLTFTC
With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... We have been planning a raid on multis for several weeks. The plan evolved into an overnight expedition during Queen's Birthday weekend.
We passed up a couple of multis en route to this one. A night time visit didn't seem safe or appropriate... We arrived and found this interesting pathway between houses. It took a few scans to find the clues. Although they were hard to read, we soon deduced the final location.
We didn't find any markers, but assumed we were in the right place for the final. After a lot of scrambling and poking around, Gap had his hands on the cache... TFTC.

We were out today with Merlot58 and enjoying what was going to prove to be a just stunning weekend. Clear sky, hot and no wind. Got here and almost did not capture this cache. First one of the parts was missing. At the other location the ground was sopping wet and ultra slippery. After some searching had part two but not part one. Mr Jag50 went back to look for part one and spotted it re-hidden in a new spot to its original. Deciphered the answer and then hunted for the final. The spot marker has all but gone so we attempted to make it a bit better. But this will soon disappear and without maintenance will be unsolvable and findable within a few months.
Jag50 and I were making the most of the stunning weather to find some more East Auckland caches. We found one of the clues easily but the other was no longer attached to where it should be. Thankfully Mr Jag went back to have a 'man look' and found the container in another spot. Once we deciphered where we needed to look we set off. The 'X' is almost non existent now so made the search for the cache a lot harder but we eventually found it after a systematic search.
Found clues easy enough and solved but cannot find the final. When looking was also told that we were on private land so we are a little confused!
I had tried to solve this one earlier in the year, but unlike other people, I initially did not find it so easy... that was until today. On the first attempt I had found the two clues, but couldn't at that time solve them. So today, I returned with Mrs NewlynFam. However, on this occasion, the penny dropped for me so to speak and I was soon on my way to quickly figuring out the answer... however, as I was doing so, Mrs NewlynFam correctly guessed what it would be... and she was right. And so the hunt was on. Mrs NewlynFam actually at one point stepped right over the cache... but when I checked the same spot soon after something caught my eye and I soon had the cache in hand. We were both surprised as to the good condition of the cache as it doesn't seem to be found too regularly. So thank you 5wheels for setting me a challenge that I really enjoyed. I am glad however to cross this one off my to do list. Great effort!
It had been rather a busy day today, and I still needed to find a cache in order to maintain my daily streak for my GIO licence. I had it in my mind to grab a quick GROTTY cache on my way home, but I was chatting to Sherlock the Puppy at church just before heading off for said cache, and this cache was mentioned- it was one we had discussed a few weeks ago, and had decided to have a go at together. So we decided to go and get this cache today instead, as we had both finished what we needed to do for the day!
I had just one more thing to do- drop junior NewlynFam (Wolfie109) off to where she needed to be for the weekend, and after this was done I headed back to pick up Sherlock the Puppy. The real Sherlock the Puppy greeted me as I knocked on the door, but we left him behind today as we headed for the cache (I'm sure he was highly disgusted at us!)
Parked nearby and wandered down- a little alleyway that I never knew existed before today, even though I have lived in Howick for almost all of my life! Sherlock the Puppy had already found the clues previously, so we didn't need to get muddy knees today Next came the tough part- figuring out what to do with the clues!!! A few ideas were floated, and we stood there scratching our heads for a few moments. I decided to employ the PAF tactic, but my friend didn't answer..... but luckily, just at that moment, the penny dropped for Sherlock the Puppy, and he knew what he had to do. I guessed what the final clue would be before Sherlock the Puppy had finished workng it all out, and then we were off to hunt for the final.
It was at this point that I was regretting my outfit choice for the day- jandals and a skirt- and WHY OH WHY do I always end up caching in bush-like areas without insect repellent??? Funnily enough, it was sitting back in the glovebox of my car, laughing at me However, there was a cahce to find, so I followed Sherlock the Puppy slowly and carefully.
Once at our suspected GZ, we began looking. Checked an obvious place first, which didn't reveal anything but a whole lot of cobwebs [:0] Sherlock the Puppy then took one direction, and I took another. I actually stepped right over it while looking (obviously had a man look ) but after a few more places were checked, Sherlock the Puppy called out "found it", eliciting a loud groan from me, as I had just been in that spot previously!!!
Glad to find the final, and I was a little worried that the cache would be wet, as it's been here a while and doesn't get many finders- but no, container and log were nice and dry. We couldn't see anything like what the solved clue referred to, and wondered if it had maybe long since disappeared..... but it turned out we didn't need what was being referred to anyway
Thanks for a fun multi 5wheels...... streak day #5 complete!!!

Found one tin earlier in the year but failed on the second. This time found both, and the final after a short search. Glad to have crossed this one off the list at last. TFTC
We found the second clue with ease but struggled to find the first one, accidentally stumbled across the final cache in the process. Never managed to find the first clue and so are unsure if it is still around
A fun multi. We found the clues easily enough but took a while to work out what they meant. Once solved it was a quck find and after reading some recent logs and preparing for a slippery experience we were pleased to find the ground had dried out a lot, although still required a bit of dexterity. TFTC
Finding the first two clues was pretty straight up, and somehow Amy managed to crack the code in a matter of seconds.
Finding the cache itself however was definitely the hard part. It's been raining over the last few days and so the ground around the GZ was very slippery (could rename this cache slip & slide). From the get go we had an idea of where the cache might be hidden, however approaching the area seemed impossible with the muddy ground. We decided to brave the conditions and after a few slips we made it.
We searched for a very decent amount of time around the area. We knew we were in the right place as we found what remains of the clue, but we couldn't seem to locate the cache itself. We simplified our searching technique and soon enough Daniel had the cache in hand!

Nice little multi needs a little maintenance but found the co-ordates and solved the final TFTC
With rebel98 and gorby, found 1 clue quickly, but not the other! a call to a previous finder, sent me back to the other side, where I spotted the strip that held the cache in place, but no clue? did a bit of digging, moving leaves and plants about, and after a few minutes I found the second part to the field puzzle: yeah!
Knew what to do, and quickly had what we needed, gorby found the spot, then it was a matter of finding the final cache hide, and soon we had the elusive cache and log book in hand
A clever idea, needs a little maintenance with the waypoints, thankfully the log is safe and dry. Thanks for the hide, and the multi!

Came here with rustynz and Rebel98 for an afternoon of multi caches. This was our second after a neat breakfast at Denny's with a group of cachers. As was said by rusty, we found one part of the 2 part clues easily but the 2nd eluded us for ages. I made a call to a fellow cacher who put us in the right direction. Rusty's determination paid off and she found the 2nd part after some digging. We worked out the final from the 2 clues and a bit of outside help and after a brief search we had the cache in hand despite the mud and the slipping and sliding around down the bank. Thanks for the cache 5wheels.
I found hint #2 first. When I got to hint #1, I was a bit crestfallen since it didn't just give me the final coords, instead it was a field puzzle. As I walked back to my car, I figured it all out how to proceed and had the final location quickly. The marking is falling off, so you may want to look at this. TFTC.
Nice to find a cache that hasn't been found in over 2 years!
Made the short walk to the published coordinates to locate the two initial waypoints. The bank on either side of the bridge was very wet and slippery and i had a good slip and slide trying to keep upright. Only got slightly dirty thankfully but did manage to locate both waypoint containers. Took a photo of both and headed back to the car to nut it out.
Spent some time going over the puzzle and in the end rang a previous finder to get a hint on solving. Well, we didnt get a hint on the solve but confirmed my initial hunch on where the cache could be hidden. Headed over that way and went in search of the cache. Cache found after a few minutes searching and again, had a good slip in slide getting a little more dirty in the process. Cache in good nick and quite surprised that this one hasn't been found more often. Nice to tick another multi off the list, TFTC!

I hate to say…but I needed help with this one but once they told me it all made sense
Came back a few days later to find the cache. I have got to stop going geocaching in my nice shoes….as here I am on a wet day, standing on the hint, walking through wet grass…and getting my nice shoes dirty and wet again….when will I learn.
And then also…here I am trying to do it quickly before I'm spotted, but then a friend calls me on my cell….so I'm standing there (on the hint)...in the valley….trying to look normal :-p
Picked up the TB.
Great multi cache, very clever. Great cache container.
Gets a favourite point from me.

Found both tins for stage one, even though we rescued the first one, as it had fallen off. Sat down to quickly figure out the puzzle and work out where the final was. Quickly located the spot, and took awhile to find the container, not to mention we were feeling a little exposed! We really enjoyed this cleverly set out multi, thank you! Earns a favourite.
Stages checked and are good. Please make sure that the tins (1st stage) are out of sight. Thanks
Dropped off Geocoin. [:)

Nice quick little multi. Took a few minutes to locate the final and to time looking inbetween muggles crossing the bridge! TFTC
Found both tins, though one had fallen off as it didn't "stick" anymore. The final had us searching for quite a few minutes as it wasn't immediately obvious, but KiwiPeat soon had it in hand TFTC, getting the hang of multis now!
A quick and fun multi. In the first stage, one of the caches was not in its original location... after we found the second, we retraced our steps to locate the first (close to where it should have been)... we have hidden it where it should be, but fear it may move again.
5YO bought his scooter for the adventure and thought the bridge was a great scootering track! 1YO decided shoes were not needed for such an occasion and spent her time trying to take them off while Mum and Dad searched for the waypoints.
Dad located the final - though took the hard route!

Sorry everyone, we checked the cache and it seems to have been muggled. Hopefully we can replace it soon. Thanks 5wheels

#2890. Nice idea for a cache. Found without too much trouble. When I looked back from the bridge it was quite visible, but a muggle was watching me so I just left as is. TFTC.
An imaginative wee multi. StreetWalker sniffed out both WPs and final, while I was trying to keep upright in the slippery conditions after all the rain.

Done both clues, and exact location from clues, however the cache was missing.
Note: There has been alot of tree felling in this reserve, this may have disturbed the cache, bit of a disappointment

Arrived at GZ just as a heavy shower arrived so decided to wait it out in the car. Once it had eased it was off to find parts one and two. No problem with the finds, though the wet weather meant for a dirty and slippery retrevial and return. A quick look at the puzzle and I was pretty certain what the solution would be. But with with the rain still falling, I thought I would make sure of the solve and work it out fully in the dry car. Yes, I was bang on the money. With a spell in the rain I simply followed my cachers nose and came up with the goods. Took a pathtag to move on. Cheers for this little multi and field puzzle!
There were plenty of muggles here today but managed to get the cache OK.
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
Fairly slippery and dirty getting the 2 partial clues but found them fairly easily. We thought this was going to be a frustrating 4 part multi/puzzle when we realised we had no idea what to do with them. We got the hint for the final and had a bit of a look around but got muggled while acting suspiciously. Headed back to the car and while mrs j was working out where to go next, mr j astutely solve the 3rd part and back we went now armed with the knowledge of what to look for. Smiley turns frustration to fun! PINO TFTC
Time for one more stop before heading home. Quickly located each part stage 1 however the puzzle had me quite stumped. So I had a quick look around the general area for anything that might look like the clue for stage 2 and hey presto I found the cache! Love the final. Lucky find and the last for today. TFTC.
3609 A great fun multi/puzzle cache, really enjoyed this one and well worth a favourite point. Thanks for the effort involved in setting up this cache.
Well we took the dog for a walk and it ran down the bank into the stream, dug until he found a rock as big as his face which he managed to bring home. 4 we also found the first and second clue, and while trying to figure out the second clue, X man found it
After my previous visit and finding the big tree fallen on the bridge I was a little worried the GZ might be disturbed but went back today and found everything in place bar the second part of the clue which was on the ground so I put it back in it's spot. Had a wander round looking for the final spot. Didn't take long to find it. TFTC
Went by this afternoon and they have closed the path and the bridge because a massive tree has fallen onto it... may need some maintenance once it's cleared up. Still need to go back and find the second part
Wow last time i came through here there was a different bridge. This new one is very flash. Awesome cache really enjoyed it thanks!
we've done plenty of regular caches, so thought it time to try some puzzle ones! we really enjoyed this one. great fun! solved the puzzle fairly quickly, but took a while to find actual cache! great hiding place! took TB. TFTC!
Really fun to find! Not too hard or too difficult! Loved it!! Oh and found it at night with headlamp = more fun =)
Clever little multi, these two old, but still young-in-heart, geocachers enjoyed the search. TNLNSL TFTC
Enjoyed this cache. However several frustrations after quickly solving the 2 clues, led to a lot of mumbling by the cache hunters. Finally nailled it today. The mumbling continues for those who suffered brain fade on this one! TFTC.
Had to phone a friend to get a bit of a clue for this one. All rather easy when you have a small hint. TFTC
Have replaced log book in a new container which will hopefully be more water-tight than the last.
Great little multi. Nice area. Log book is very wet so will need replacing or drying out. TFTC
Great cache, did it in the dark for extra difficulty and mozzie bites Put a couple of dessicants in to try and dry things out, but will log a maintenance for this one.

I had heaps of trouble with the puzzle as I was over complicating it. Thanks pagenz for putting me on the right track with the puzzle. Thanks.
Had to stop myself trying to open the eclipse tins . Puzzle straight forward, although it took me a while to find the right answer. T4TC - M@
Out and about with Team Welsh. We each found part of the clues and then collobrated on the finish - although how I managed to draw the short straw - maybe because I am the shortest sister but it fell to me to recover the cache. IT was all quite comical I am sure to a bystander. T4TC
[This cache has to be described as the funniest cache find of the day. I have to complete a full description of the events but may contain a spoiler so will be encoded]. It started off with each sister taking one end of the bridge each to obtain the answers needed to solve the cache. Upon working out where we needed to be we spotted the correct tree. Without Wonderboy who happens to be an expect rock climber and very agile we decided that one of us would have to climb the required height to retrieve the cache. Mandy drew the short straw and upon finding a suitable place to use for a foot support up she went. The only problem was coming back down, her leg couldn't quite reach the ground so I had to hold onto her and gently get her leg unhooked from its awkward position. Luckily no one was passing or the sight would of been hilarious. As it was we spent at least 5 minutes trying to recover from what we thought was the best and funniest cache retrieval of the day.
Had a nice walk/stroll into Howick today. Cool as cache! liked the riddle, but a really weird place to have a bridge! TFTC
A great cache. First two were found with out problem. The final took a little more of a 'grid search' before we honed in on the correct one of the several possibilities.. TFTC
Enjoyed this multi which is a bit different from the usual. Liked the hides / attachment of the waypoints. Solved the nice little puzzle and found "the spot." Good use of the area to make this multi. Thanks.

Loved this cache as it was a bit different.
Found both clues without any drama and swiftly worked out what we had to do next.
Luckily we almost went straight to it.

Tricky but not too bad.
I like the location help I wonder if the step was custom made?

Found stage 1b first (which I think was marked stage 2??), then extrapolated to stage 1a, which I found easily enough.
Now I have the two clues, and am trying to work out what it means

Thanks, Tunez and I spent some time decoding it, then I realized the method, and raced around to final part.
woop I loved the way the first two parts where hidden! TFTC also the contents are a little bit wet.
No problems locating the two waypoints or deciphering the code. Quick loop around the small reserve before finding the spot in the last direction we could have looked.

Out this way for work and finished early. Had the GPS but not much else. Found one clue but it made no sense. Looked around the reserve and found some great bamboo. Worked out a possible GZ and bingo there it was.
Bit muddy around here today.
Thanks for the cache 5Wheels

No problems locating the two waypoint containers, or figuring out the puzzle. Nicely hidden final, well done.

Joint FTF with GreenblAt on a Saturday night. Quickly found WP1, jumped over the bridge to look for WP2.
Final quickly spotted, signed log and took GC.
Couldn't see the rest of the reserve in the dark. But must be a nice little spot.

Pleasant night for a new cache in the neighbourhood. Had difficulty with 1/2 WP1 but lucked the final.
T4TC 5Wheels - keep em coming!
