The ship has been renovated and it seems the cache is no longer there. No response from CO to needs maintenance log back in January.
Had a good look but with all the new paint job And works I don't think it's here
It was great to see the boat newly painted and restored. No sign of a cache now. Please could the CO check it please?
Restoration recently completed in December 2016, so not sure whether cache is still in place.
1. Sunday outing with my niece & lunch in the park. Unfortunately the Maiden has seen better days & has limited access to search site. Be cautious when looking.
Will go back again at another time ...

Found with Zapcyril on our way back from a weekend near Mt Warning. No pen so took a pic of the log. (Attached)
It's my birthday and I haven't cached in ages due to life becoming crazy over the last few months! I was determined to grab this one after I met my husband for lunch in this park. Quick find, TFTC.
Found the container but all that was inside was a receipt so we wrote on that. Tftc
Reletively quick find with my young geo-son. Cache has great camo and is in an out-of-the-way from teenage muggles. TFTC!!
Was caching with a couple of previous finders of this so they stayed in the air conditioned car while I went, hmm not there not there, they joined the search and both had found it in different places, well add mine as a third place. Got to love cache creep. TFTC
What a majestic little boat that had us looking for quite a while to find the cache. TFTC.
After spending Xmas break down at Tweed, we decided to do some caches before I headed home to Brisbane. Took a little while to locate but eventually found TFTC.
Out today with nature0nut to find a few caches in the area for our upcoming target of 2000. This one was on the list and was now in the crosshairs. Some easier, some harder, this one was a nice quick find today; the extra eyes always helps. Tftc
Out caching today with Cantcacheus2014. With a fair amount of caches to find; this one was the on the list. A huge variety indeed! This was a nice find. TFTC GPS-RNAV.
Was a bit wary of the log from the previous finder, figured I'm not too bulky I should give it a try. Glad I did.
ShazzyP and I located this one today but both decided was not safe to climb up and write in the log really thing this needs reconsidering for health and safety
Located cache today with Uksquirrel, but neither of us wanted to get stuck or unwanted attention from Services when the rusty, bendy metal structure gives way!!
We have pics available. I don't think this should be climbed anymore.

A new weekend and a new day to be out gathering up solved puzzles and other caches to help me meet my personal goal of improving my D rating. I visited some similar boats earlier in the year at Swan Hill and was surprised to find this one here today. Some mild exertion later and my name was in the logbook. TFTC
Second visit to the area after the out of bounds sign has been removed from the GZ area. Good exercise retrieving the cache, great one for the kids to find & TFTC
Smilie #2648
A few hours to spare so we decided to chase up a few smilies around the Nerang area.
Hmmm? I think the last log was meant to say 'Can't find' not 'Can5 find' so not sure why it's a Found It!
Anyway ...
After reading the last few recent logs we 'almost' didn't stop here.
I'm glad we decided to check it out anyway.
FOUND IT!
Well, found the black eclipse tin, magnetically attached in a location fitting the description & hint.
Unfortunately the cache was empty!
Zilch, nada, nothing inside.
Added a (stamped & dated) temporary log in the form of a page from my pocket notebook & returned the container to where I found it!

Arrived with fotohotshot before we read all the logs, we searched for the logbook but was unable to find in the vertical pole. This would be a cool cache but unfortunately I think it needs maintenance badly.
18/7/15 whilst the son attends a scout event down here I thought I'd grab some caches. After reading the previous logs I ventured in expecting the worst. I quickly found the scattered log book. Unfortunately I did not have a container on me, but I did have some plastic ziplock bags. So back to the car with the scattered log book where I added these and some more paper to a plastic ziplock bag and then returned to replace. I have replaced it where hopefully muggles will not retrieve it (in a horizontal pole). I have emailed the CO with photos. A great location and hopefully this cache can remain. TFTC
Quick find while we had a stop on our way to the natural bridge. Thanks for the cache. No container though, signed log book.
What a great old ship and its shipwrecked in the park. Poor old cache is in bad way though, there was no container at all but the logbook was there. Don't know how long it will last.
Cheers for the history lesson GPS-RNAV

I found bits of log on the ground. I signed one of them and collected them on a concrete ledge, but they're not likely to stay there. I agree with the needs maintenance log that it would be good to keep this cache going. TFTC.
Found it only because the log book was laying on the ground and no container in site. I did step over the barricade to retrieve the log and placed it on a ledge.
I agree with other logs that this needs urgent attention and placed where many more can come and explore this historic boat.

The cache is still behind the barricade. Geocachers are risking fines and self harm to get to it. There are signs in place and they are ignoring them. Please keep everyone safe and maintain our collective ability to geocache by helping to stop people breaking the rules. Perhaps find a nearby location for your cache. This situation will be in place for many more months

Up from Canberra and found with Rapidlywild on a two week geomission around the Gold Coast and, of course, for the MEGA
The Mega had come to a close and the fun had finished so we were back on the Gold Coast. Our energy was low so we decided we'd have a cruisy day of caching around the area.
Swung by this one for a nice, quick find at this grand old paddle steamer
Thanks for the hide, GPS-RNAV

Back on the Gold Coast today to continue caching. The holiday is starting to wind down in preperation for the long drive back to Canberra.
Today we found alot of caches from Nottinghamers who I must admit have some very creative hides We had a wonderful day out and about collecting caches and placing our stamp in the log books.
I am not sure what happened here as I KNOW I had found this cache the last time I was on the Gold Coast. I knew exactly where it was when we returned however it appears I had not logged a find for it. Ah well, log signed again and time to reclaim the smiley
Thanks GPS-RNAV for placing this cache for us to make a find on

We had put this one off for quite some time due to the orange barrier fence but...a quick skip n jump, cache located, log signed n replaced without a muggle any the wiser;) TFTC SL
Found in the company of Bazzer GTTB as a nice little shady hide.. the fence did not deter.. TFTC SL
I had a road trip planned with a mate on our motorbikes. His bike was up in Brisbane so I had to ride up to Brisbane from Sydney on my own. I did a few stop overs along the way to visit family members up north. What I thought was to be a pleasant ride up to Brisbane was not!
From Byron Bay to the Gold Coast I rode through crazy storms with extreme lightning, torrential rain, strong winds and all at night providing some terrible vision for someone on a motorbike. I was passing other cars who had all pulled over to the side of the road, trucks included! I was doing 60km along 100km sections and was still not being overtaken by other vehicles. What made it worse was that it came unexpectedly to me and I hadn't had time to put my wet weather gear on, so I was absolutely saturated!! I managed to pull into my cousins place after completing a section from Ballina to the Gold Coast which took me three times as long as it should have!!
Today had been pouring with rain but I decided to head out in the truck and go for a drive anyway. On my way to the shops I noticed this one on the phone and decided I would search for it on the way back. By the time I came back it was raining heavily but I was keen to get this one!!
I pulled up to GZ and noticed the area had been fenced off. I located where the cache should be and ran around and jumped over the fence before crawling into the area where the cache was hidden. It was dry in here so wasn't too bad and best of all it appeared that I was somewhat hidden from the passing traffic nearby. A quick explore of the place found that this was a favourite spot for the local teens and I can see why, it was pretty cool! I quickly located the cache and was surprised at how easy it was to find, especially considering that teens obviously enjoy this spot. I signed the log and placed everything back in place before waiting for a break in the traffic to jump back over the fence.
It's a shame it was so wet and that the area had been fenced off as I would have enjoyed looking around and learning more.
TFTC cheers

Visiting from Newcastle, staying at Nerang, found with my brother (frayeromm), 2nd attempt successful although I'm not sure about the inferred height? TFTC GPS-RNAV!!
I'd like to suggest you alter its location until the restoration is complete. That way people aren't ignoring the many 'keep off' signs and crossing the barricade for the cache in a location that they are trying to protect from damage and also protect people from getting hurt on
A quick find with 'sesblocker' in the pouring rain. At least it's dry under there!! TFTC
Xmas day and no one around. My Mum with me to act as a decoy as i climbed over the fencing. I was expecting something else and so took longer than I should have.... 3 minutes. Thanks GPS-RNVA.
Took a bit of climbing by Loj . Bit concerned about climbing on this as all the signs saying not to. Ah well. Cache signed TFTC
Great fun to find! Good hiding spot! Comments gave much help. Site is blocked off but we were georebels and stepped over the orange barriers
TFTC little bit of climbing and the tin was in my hands. Found while on my lunch break
I came down to the Gold Coast today to visit Bristracker and pick up some geocaches. This is a really awesome ship. Glad I got to see her as I am very nautical minded. I spied the cache quite quickly. A great hide. TFTC
I had previously hunted for this cache to no avail, that was last year sometime. Today took me all of 3min. Excellent just what you need for #700! Tftc

Walked by yesterday but group of kids playing at GZ. Today we brought our own 11 year old great nephew and he soon found it.
Thank you to forbiddenground for replacing the cache while I was away....well done that man!!

I'm heading past this old paddle steamer in the wee hours tomorrow 2-2:30am I'm hopefully be able to drop off a new cache.
I'll endeavor to get up to attend to this cache. Work commitments will preclude me getting there for a week or so and it would be a pitty to loose this cache. If anyone is able to place another "Eclipse Tin" cache in the old hide place that would be greatly appreciated.
Searched for a good hour climbing all over the wheel and couldn't find it. Starting to think someone has taken it. Had a fellow cacher show me this awhile ago (before I had an account) and I was looking where he found it and couldn't see it at all
Should have read the logs before I stopped here
