We parked the caravan on the main road as there was no way it would make it to the cache site. Then we headed in on foot. We are always surprised by the amount of tracks that seem to veer off these tracks. The falls are not flowing at the moment and the pools are not very inviting. The cache was a nice quick find.
Thanks for placing

Traveling with richlink to Darwin and beyond enjoying this stunning scenery and picking up a cache or two along the way. We found it hard to find the track in, once we did it was plain sailing until it was time to climb the rock to the cache, that was a bit harder. Cache found, signed and rehidden. Thanks Bushies2.

We took the road only to see the boat wouldn't fit through the windy track so Mr M turned off to turn around.... and got bogged in deep sand just two metres off the track. It was only 44 degrees, too!! We took the quad to the cache but sadly the pools were small and stagnant green. My legs had a few scrapes against the fallen pandanus and I later spent the night digging out spines from my legs. After the cache it took 2 hours to let down the tyres, turn around, drive out and repump the tyres. The pump air chuck blew off and broke (twice) so it took plenty of mcguyvering, frustration, sweating and unhelpful advice (so it seems lol) until we could get out of there. Cancelled the rest of the caches on the list out here and headed straight to Ivanhoe crossing and the prospect of water. TFTC

Thanks for the cache, stagnant pools but is a nice spot no doubt once the waters flowing, a fire has been through and burnt all the pandanus back which was helpful.

The Big Western Australia trip in 2018. Day 14. A morning in and around Kununarra was followed by a Ord River crossing as the Ivanhoe crossing and a back roads trip to Wyndham for dusk.

This was a wonderful spot, very remote and no one about. I had lunch here after locating the cache.

Thanks.

Off on the adventure of a life time, what a cool area, so much to see and do, everyone in our family has been thrilled with variety around K town, Geo Mum not so thrilled she has to catch up on lots of logs! Sorry about the generic copy and paste log, thanks for supplying us with a cache that has been apart of the fun.

Pa agreed to drive me around some outlying caches of Kununurra today as we continue to wander around northern Australia from one side to the other after attending the Red Centre Experience over Easter.
This was cache #5 and Monty, aka my GPSr, had me running in circles for a while. Eventually Pa had CIH signed log as SG and returned it to its hiding place. TFTC

Hi there Bushies2 - while stopped in Kununnura during our 2016 Northern Adventure TWO decided to let me have a day out by myself to pick up some caches that were too remote for her to accompany me. This was our find number 4130 - SL. Thanks to Bushies2 for the cache.

Our current visit to Australia had been in the planning for over a year with the very significant help and advice from friends who live in Melbourne. The original plan was for a 2 month visit, but as things progressed we just couldn't help extending our trip to the full 90 days allowed on our visas - after all it's a big country and so much to see and do, especially with our favourite pastimes being birding, hiking and of course geocaching! Our journey started with our arrival at Perth airport followed by a day cycling around Rottnest Island before travelling on to Adelaide where we met up with our friends. We then continued on to spend some time on Kangaroo Island, before heading to Melbourne via Goolwa, Strathalbyn, Coorong, Mount Gambier, Cape Bridgewater, the Grampians National Park, Port Campbell, Cape Otway and Lorne, cramming in as much as possible on route. The second leg of our journey was a fabulous 9 days in Tasmania. Having then returned to Melbourne we set off on the third leg of our journey, which was to Sydney via Wilson’s Promontory, Lakes Entrance, Mallacoota, Pambula Beach, Thredbo, Canberra and Fitzroy Falls. We then spent a few days in Sydney with geocaching friends before flying on to the Gold Coast for the fourth leg of our travels, that included visits to Lamington National Park, Noosa and an overnight trip out to Fraser Island. We then flew from Brisbane to Cairns, where we spent a couple of nights before heading out to the birding hotspots of Yungaburra and Daintree. Following on from a visit to Cape Tribulation we turned to Port Douglas. After a day out on the Great Barrier Reef we returned to Cairns for the flight to Alice Springs and the fifth leg of our travels, which was a wonderful week driving the circuit to and from Ayers Rock in our 4x4 camper. On returning to Alice Springs we then flew on to Darwin, where we picked up another 4x4 camper. We are currently making our way towards Broome via Kakadu, Cooinda, Katherine Gorge, Kununarra, Lake Argyle, Emma Gorge, the Bungle Bungle’s and Fitzroy Crossing. Our last two nights in Australia will be spent in Broome before we fly back to Perth, from where we will connect with the flight all the way back home to Zimbabwe via South Africa. We already know we can't wait to return!

This was a nice quick find at Ground Zero where we were once again at first distracted watching the birds coming to drink around the pools. Many thanks to Bushies22 for yet another great cache - your caches and where they took us greatly enhanced our stay in the region.

Thanks Bushies2 for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

On a warm humid day after raining the night before, we decided to do some caching on the back end of KNX. We managed to climb up over and down again. We hate those pandanus. We found the cache easy enough then decided to venture a little futher up the waterfall. The dog loved it! Nice drive in. TFTC! The wet is coming. Happy new year!

Went searching for this one yesterday but missed the turnoff. Headed out today toward Wyndham and decided to get this one first up.

Beautiful spot, would love to see it with more water in it. As we climbed up to the top pool to have a look there were heaps of butterflies flittering about.

TN....left Roorider Pathtag.

I found the twisting trail into Twin Pools and parked the geombobile in the shade.
Then I headed off cross country for some exploration and exercise to find the nearby Twin Falls cache Big Grin
The Twin Pools cache could wait for my return.

A couple of fun filled and scenic hours later I returned to the geomobile, hopped in, and drove off down the track, back to the main road Smile
A few minutes later a thought struck me.

"Um ... 'If'... you didn't go and find the Twin Pools cache did you ?".

Another [red] Stupid [/red]moment Red Face
Hey I'm not even fifty yet, but I sure seem to forget a lot of things Red Face

So I did a U-turn and drove back to the end of the trail.
Then headed off through the pandanus to find me the cache Razz
At the twin pools I sat down to watch the honeyeaters chasing each other and taking an afternoon bath.
There was a very big, brown frog in the pool too, with white stripes along its back [:o]
I must look up what it was !!
I know it was not a cane toad Wink

A bit later and after a short hunt around I found me the cache and wandered back to the car Big Grin

This was our 5th cache find in a caching run of 10 Finds & 0 DNFs today.
We found it at 10:59 so this now makes our total find count 6944.

We took our new Jeep geo-mobile on a few 4WD tracks today. (No scratches, no dents!)
Another great detour off the main dirt road. We had to search around a bit, but once the GPS settled the cache was soon in hand.

Coordinate Accuracy: Excellent (Around 2 metres).
Cache Condition: Container and log book are in good shape.
Took: Nothing.
Left: Nothing.
Thanks Bushies2 for the hunt today.

Today we chose to have a 4x4 day out & headed out to the Parry Creek Road area. The roads reminded me of when we went up to Cape York along the Telegraph line, rough, corrugated & sometimes sandy.
In areas the grass was higher than the car. I called this an adventure.
Its amazing how nature works, all these water spots have been so different.
Thanks Bushies2

SmileNice spot ! Got some pokes from the pan trees. Easy find as its not camouflaged anymore as the paint must have peeled off in the recent rains. Had a swim further back up the top a very nice spot and had a refreshing swim. Thanks for the cache Bushies2

Has been burnt out here recently. Cache survived. TFTC

A pretty spot although at the moment a swim is out of the question, the water is turning a tad green.

thanks

Nice spot. Had a swim in the top pool and while in the water a goanna came to visit. Seemed we were in his pool! We persuaded him to go fishing in the lower pool.
Took nothing.

Wrong time of the year for us to come here. There was some water but it didn't look inviting and nothing flowing. No butterflies around but lot's of wasp's. Hot, hot, hot out here. I can imagine that this would be a very nice spot earlier in the year. Thanks for the cache once again bushies2.

A fun day out cachng with Liz and Bruce while we celebrated Bruce's birthday.

22-Jul-10
This was a beautiful spot that was alive with butterflies - never seen so many in one place before. Can only imagine how much more beautiful these pools are in 'the wet'.

22-Jul-10
We picked these caches for today because just by reading about them we knew they would be in beautiful spots. Today being Bruce's 60th birthday we wanted the day to be special and we were not disappointed with the stunning scenery. We had a great day out in the company of Richlink and Tangowithcupcake and we thank them and Bushies2 for making the day special.

Sandy track ...trees close to sides.. We decided to leave the geocamper on Parry Crk. rd. and walk in . Those pandanus are sharp aren't they...Wish we had seen the pools with water flowing but a nice spot anyway. TFTC

13-Jul-10
Enjoyed driving in 4WD thru arriving the beautiful place. This time, there is no fall from the top into bottom water. The cache was on hand quickly. Thanks for bringing me to the beauitful nature surroudings and the cache.

04-Jul-10
The Butterflies here were yellow... at the falls they were black. We got a bit shredded by pandanus on the way around the bottom pool. Thanks again Bushies
