I thoroughly enjoyed the drive out here this morning Smile
I did at times wonder where on earth I was going to get the geomobile stuck though Wink
At the nearby Siamese Twins I decided enuff was enuff and due to the close proximity of these twin caches set off on foot to find me a MONSTER !! [:o]
And from a hundred metres out I could see it.
It looked like a hydra, or kraken was lurking out here in the bush [:o]

And the closer I got the spookier the tree looked Big Grin
That boab is well worth any amount of effort to see [^]
I am never going to see one to top it (probably) Big Grin

TFTC and detour out to a beautiful place Bushies2.

Now its back to towne for some more supplies and some unfinished caching business Wink

This was our 10th cache find in a caching run of 10 Finds & 0 DNFs today.
We found it at 13:08 so this now makes our total find count 6949.

[blue]
We took our new Jeep geo-mobile on a few 4WD tracks today. No scratches, no dents, although we did come a little close.
We weren't too sure about the final creek crossing. the sand was a little too soft, so with no hesitation we struck out on foot.
[/blue]
Coordinate Accuracy: Fair (Around 8 metres, but the cache notes are explicit enough).
Cache Condition: Container and log book are in good shape.
Took: Nothing.
Left: Clip.
Thanks Bushies2 for the hunt today.

Went there today and replaced it with a new cache and logbook. Thanks.

Interesting drive off track, beautiful monster boab tree but logbook was soggy so couldn't sign on it. It was our very first cache Smile
Thanks Bushies2. Cool

22-Feb-12
We are unable to do the replacement due to our 4WD being repaired and we do not have another vehicle at the moment however we are trying our best to find someone to take us to this place. Thank you.

Even though this cache is listed as unavailable I still reckon its a great one. Just needs a new log book, sorry I didn't have one on me. Love the Boab.

19-Feb-12
This was our first GC for the Kununurra 4WD Club. Found it but definitely needs replacing - not so much the container but the contents especially the log book are all water logged. Maybe a change in container or maybe higher up will do the trick. Sorry didn't have a logbook to replace it with. Anyway, what a fantastic boab - we guesstimate that it is a couple of thousand years old. Took yellow tractor and replaced with blue racing car.

As mentioned before we are unable to do the maintenance due to our travelling till the end of this year.

03-Aug-11
Found at 4.05pm GAFF1. Certainly a grotesque monster - must be about 10,000 years old!
There were signs of water being all around the tree so we didn't think that we would find anything, but as we dug about 20 cms down we caught a glimpse of a green lid. The cache was there, but in a very sorry state. We took a TB out to move it on - a very rare occurrence for us.
Thanks Bushies2.

03-Aug-11
Log book a sodden mess.

03-Aug-11
Temporarily disabled this cache till we get back from our travels at end of the year and do the maintenance. Thanks.

Now that is the most monstrous tree we have ever laid eyes on - the stuff of nightmares. A fun day out cachng with Liz and Bruce while we celebrated Bruce's birthday.

22-Jul-10
What a massive tree and still looking very happy. Out with the 60 year old birthday boy of Liz&Bruce and Tangowithcupcake. We had a very enjoyable day helping Bruce celebrate.

22-Jul-10
Just when we thought we had seen every shape and size boab possible we got to see this wonderful monster. We picked these caches for today because just by reading about them we knew they would be in beautiful spots. Today being Bruce's 60th birthday we wanted the day to be special and we were not disappointed with the stunning scenery. We had a great day out in the company of Richlink and Tangowithcupcake and we thank them and Bushies2 for making the day special.

Wow what an enormous boab tree I have ever seen – larger than Prison Tree. Glad that I came and really loved it’s surroundings – going to miss the wonderful and beautiful Kimberly land when I get home in Perth. A nice quick find. Thanks for the cache and the great location, Bushies2.

16-Jul-10
Parked the geocamper at the creek crossing about 2 km. before GZ and hoofed it. Wow !! what a tree. I wonder how old it is ??? Thanks for bringing us here and TFTC

29-Aug-09
Nobody around when we visited this one. Love the tree - it's amazing to see how some Boab's grow. TFTC

03-Aug-09
we found the tree but it was inhabited by dept of conservation and land management or something doing a bio-diversity study on animals in the area could not get to search for cache
they will be there for two weeks may need checking after that

After coming all this way out here we were very keen to get the FTF but on our arrival OH NO 20 tents set up around the tree. As we got closer we realised that there was noone home- maybe scouts out on a hike? Lady Morris spotted a likely spot 6 inches from a backpack leaning against the tree, dived in, signed and then raced to the car in case they returned suddenly. And we raced away for good measure. TFTC - we didn't really get to appreciate the tree in our haste though.
