Took a look for this cache while visiting the waterfall, but blackberry prevented us getting the last couple of meters in to GZ!
This was another cache on my list to sign off today and found another campsite next to the river with this waterfall on the side of it.
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
Such a quite and beautiful place. Very pretty waterfall of which would be great to swim nearby. Trust your GPS
Sinautus & EvilEva on VALENTINES DAY with the help of the faithful sidekick Wolf found it lickadesplit
Was wet and dirty but spent time cleaning and drying it so it’s all good with a special something inside.
Thanks Daringpeter !!

Stopped here on the way down to Whirinaki forest. Great swim followed by lots of blackberries. Well worth the detour. Thanks.
Came to Minginui to visit someone and ticked this one off before going home. Wet day today but the geocache is nice and dry. Tftc.
With part of Team BOP: McJandals, NZFlossy (+Richard), and TNXPro)... We have not ventured into the Whirinaki Forest before, and the publication of new caches in the area certainly got us to visit. We picked a fine, cold day to call in...
After 20+ kilometres worth of walking, it was definitely a relief to be attacking this cache from a vehicle... This one was practically a park and grab. The nearby campsite and waterfall were great too, but we are a bit tired to enjoy it fully. Thanks daringpeter and TFTC.

On a day trip with some of the team from BOP. (NZ Flossy, myself, TNXPRO & Squirrel Nutcase). Some new caches in the area prompted our trip. Some have been here before but it’s all new territory for me, a fabulous area to explore!! I am logging using the Cachly app template so please excuse generic logging along the way. It’s just my way of keeping track, but I do genuinely thank each and every one of you cache owners for taking the time and energy to place these caches. Many Thanks for bringing us here. Cheers
The cache was very wet and the logbook sodden. (I suspect that some cachers are not very conscientious when replacing caches.) Dried it and replaced the logbook. NB there are few swaps in this cache.
Out with Philip.Perry and Nzflossy exploring this great area quick find here today however the cache was full of water and log book was saturated we did manage to put our names in the log book . Hopefully someone camping over the summer will be able to dry log book out as it's a old log book and cache full of history.

Todays Team BOP road trip was made up of Davidson Clan, NZFlossy and I and our target is Nerweeds Murupara/Galatea trail - but of course I'll try to stop at everything I can
I hadn't planned on Whirinaki but I'm so pleased we ventured this way - these 4 caches were the highlight of the trip. The water fall was neat and this was an excellent off grid camping ground. The cache was found quickly and in good condition thanks to accurate coords and a straight forward placement. Cheers daringpeter, TFTC

We were in the area checking out fishing spots and couldn't drive past this one

No problems finding. What a cool place. Have never been out this way before. Interesting area. Beautiful spot. Love the falls. Left a coin to continue its travels. Tftc
Another find on the great north summer roadtrip with the Banians- a week of travel from Wellington to Auckland via Napier, Wairoa, that secluded road between Wairoa and Rotorua, and almost the Coromandel peninsula.
The horses nearby were an interesting addition to the caching experience, which made the find memorable. TFTC

Found on our road trip from Wellington to Auckland for a wedding. Day five, Wairoa to Rotorua.
I used to come up this way in the 1990s to go bike riding. We stayed further up the road in a DOC hut, I don't remember a sign for the waterfall. Cache being guarded by a small mob of horses. SL TFTC.

This was a quick find for us after checking on my own cache and doing a few others in the forest. Lovely camp grounds but looks like it's not used that often. Cache in good order. TFTC
Last of the day while returning home. Muggles force us to go fast. Signed and replaced in a record time.
As no-one had logged this cache for more than a year I visited it for a check. Found it in good condition, easily found, and no problems. As several caches in this area have disappeared I am glad that this one is OK- and well worth visiting!
During time in New Zealand we have been to many beautiful places and sometimes it was because there was a geocache hidden ..
We want to thank all the CO for placing so many caches. We have been 35 days in New Zealand and beside 1 day we found each day at least one cache!
Greetings from The Netherlands

Wish I'd left my tramping boots on til AFTER I went looking for this cache-I think it must be the unofficial 'horse paddock'! TFTC. Nice camp area tho' [8(]
A quick find in the morning, after spending the night here and before walking in to Mangamate and then Central Whirinaki huts over Easter. Thanks for the cache.
Found by the boys in the team as they were off tramping in this area for the week. TFTC
This was a favourite spot when we visited this area in 2009. Fantastic waterfall. Our friend from Murupara logged her first cache - ske have also started geocaching now Dropped TB. TFTC!
A very nice place to stop for a rest. I was delivering in minginui, i had seen the sign to the falls and thought it would be nice to check out. I don't know what made me pull out the gps, but glad I did. Out - boot travel slug. TFTC.
11.15am - Only muggles around were the four legged kind so wasn't a problem to go straight in for the hunt.SL,TFTC
A beautiful place to spend the night before going tramping and a cache as well, what more could one ask for
We wanted to stay in this idyllic little campsite a bit over a year ago (before we were cachers), and when the boys in red started taking over the place we decided to leave. Nice to see some have been able to enjoy this place since. It was nice and tidy today and no sign of trouble when we found this nicely hidden cache. Left GC TFTC
We were heading into the forest for a day hike, so made a quick stopoff to find the only cache in the area. Stunning place and even on new years day not too many people around. We placed a cache at the top of the whirinaki waterfall loop track to hopefully tempt more cachers into the area. TFTC.
Oh man, what a spot! I loved this place so much that I decided to stay a night just 50m away from the waterfall. TFTC!
Been to this spot heaps of times before geocaching so just a quick stop off on the way to Waikaremoana for the weekend.

On our way into Lake Waikaremoana for the easter weekend, so just had to stop in here on the way to pick up this cache.

After spending five days in beautiful Whirinaki forest I just had to make the short detour along a sealed road (apart from the last entrance) to visit this cache. Thanks so much for bringing me here - what a delightful spot. Being Anniversary weekend it was very busy with campers and people swimming and generally relaxing. Just as well the cache has been placed in a discreet, "uninteresting" place. Thanks daringpeter.
#944. Nice waterfall. Quite a few muggles having a dip in the pool.

A great day out with samac. Unfortunately he found the cache first, had a slight muggle issue with people staying at the camping ground. Thanks for the cache!
Stopped to find this cache on the way to River Road to tramp in to the Central Whirinaki Hut. The GPS zeroed in on two different spots about 20 metres apart before it found the right one, then it was a quick easy find. Left the Belgian Geocoin. TFTC!
A superb location. I was cycling from Lake Waikaremoana to Rotorua and this cache is perfect for a break. TFTC MacBanger

Quick drive by detour on the way to Lake Waikaremoana, got there at 7.30am and most of the campers there were still asleep, luckily the cache was slightly out of the way from the camping spots. We were surprised so many people come here to camp!!

Driving home to Hamilton after a long day working at Waikaremoana, a diversion to this beautiful spot to log the new cache was called for. It has been a couple of years since I called in here, and it has certainly been improved – the facilities are looking good! The waterfall is a great scene., must come back with a butterfly Lady some time. Many thanks daringpeter for the placement.
Nemo TB was enjoying this remote, quiet fishing spot, but my visit was good opportunity for him to move along to another spot, so he jumped into my car and came with me. He should be able to get closer to his target of Auckland soon.

Quick detour on the way to the sunny B.O.P. Nice to come out this way again. This time the campground was almost empty, except for a couple of friendly four-legged muggles camped out there. They enjoyed a long conversation with us. The river looks good for fishing. Campground makeover is looking good too....roll on summer!
Found with no problem, was surprised to get the FTF,
We left a TB in this gem of a place. TFTC.
Just as we were leaving another vehicle pulled in, could it be another cacher?
