Located with Ricardinho This one took a bit more commitment by RNZ to find. It hasn't been maintained here for a wee while & things are pretty overgrown. Not too sure where the lookout was meant to be either.Off to Pohara for the long weekend camping in the tent which will be fun Weather is looking great for the long weekend which is a bonus as well! RNZ had a few caches he wanted to target on the way over the Takaka hill & up the start of the Cobb Valley Road. We couldn't go too far today because we needed to set up camp. Stopped in Takaka township & did the Adlabs there, saving the 2 bonus caches for another day. Plus it was too busy to find them today, muggles foiling our plans! TFTC
No problems pulling in here. The road has proper road markings and the gate was open, so looked legit enough. It wasnt until I read past logs that i found other people had a less pleasant experience. From memory, this was one I added RITR paper to as the log was damp. TFTC B&W. Travelling to Pohara for a long weekend break with RG72, and todays caching goal was pretty much to get as many as we could comfortably on the way there. We got most of those on the road over. A couple of these were a bit old, which made me wonder why i had not got those sooner. But there has also been an effort by local cachers to fill some of those holes up the hill, which is much appreciated. We dabbled a bit down the road to cobb valley, but not too far as we have tents and stuff to put up at the campground so will leave that for another time, but we did do the Ad Labs in town. Thanks for all the caches and sorry for the cut and paste.
Things looked a bit confusing, but there were no signs to prevent entry, so in I went, and found I did. TFTC.
We checked this one out as we were passing. On the map, this place is still labelled Bob's Lookout and still looks like a reserve. We rather suspect the area has been fenced off to prevent hoons parking here and partying. There should be no problem parking across the entrance road. The cache is still there so go for it .
Hmmm, interesting. We encountered a similar issue as the previous hunter - locked gates with unfriendly signage.
Got to within 40m of the cache to find a locked gate with signs indicating authorized people only and warning of surveillance cameras. Decided not to go through the gate
Found on a sunny winters day. A muggle was parked up nearby and came along as locating. A deerhunter who now knows about geocaching! Tftc
Tregearp and I have passed by this one many times either because we've been behind time because of the recent, well may be long standing now, traffic management, or because of traffic itself. Today we had both the time and ability to swing in for a quick find. All in good order, signed log and replaced as found. Thanks b&w for another cache.
No joy here. Parked up top and wandered down to GZ. Found quite a few rocks and started looking around them. But toilet paper behind some of them put me off somewhat so I didn't search as carefully as I should have. No obvious cache spotted. Will have to look again another time.
A stop on the way to the Takaka Hill Walkway. No problems finding the container. Looked all sealed but water almost to the top. Pulled out bag which was completely fill of water but seemed sealed. Pulled a second bag out of the first. It was also completely full of water. This seemed to be well sealed also. I could see the log floating in this bag. Removed the log and being a write in rain paper was still in great condition and added my name to it. Of course removed all the water from each bag and container and replaced as found. Thanks for the cache.
Very misty up here today and no view to see. No luck for us in searching for this but didn't want to rummage around too much as looked like a few people had been caught short and not cleaned up.
We were on our way home today, from having tramped to Sylvester Hut with our son and our two grand daughters yesterday!! We pulled off to hopefully find this cache, as it would give us another higher altitude cache. For those of us who come from the flat prairies down at sea level, these are awesome caches to log. Three adults and two kids searching!!! We were so glad to have those two little kids with us to find this cache. Don't know whether Mr QuiltinAnnie or I would have found this cache!!! But our oldest grand daughter did!!! Again!!! Thanks for the hide and for another smiley!!!
The plan today was to check out Harwoods Hole and Ngarua Caves, pop over the Hill to have lunch at the Jester Cafe and grab a few items in Mot. We got to the campground at HH and didn't realise we needed to walk that far. We were under prepared and planned on heading back this afternoon. We did the other things on our list and ended up having a real fruit ice cream at Riwaka instead of walking out to HH, besides it was a million degrees by then and we headed back over the Hill for a rest and swim.
Heading back home and pulled off for a quickish find.
Thanks for the cache bumandworker.

Had the pace to myself. Sure I've stopped at this lookout a few times over my life.
Stunning spot without all the campers that have been at the other lookouts today.
Thanks very much!
Thanks very much!
Up from CHCH visiting family in Richmond...and now a couple days in Golden Bay for some exploring. Our couple days in Golden Bay over; this morning we had a few things to visit in and around Takaka before heading back to Richmond. TeWaikoropupu Springs ticked off, Labyrinth Rocks, tick.......Rawhiti caves, tick. Hot as. Time to start heading back to Richmond.....Stopped off 'at the top' in this lovely wee reserve for some much needed lunch. Lovely spot with some great views. Cheers.
On a week's walking and caching holiday with trifolia argentea we aimed for 100 caches. Thanks to all cache owners.
It's raining a little and the grass was went and its summer with shorts and sandals on. Yuck. Nice hidden spot to camp at however. Tftc
The team ( The Seagnoid, Toby, Zara and I) have Collingwood on our radar for today. Left Zara at Riwaka and headed out in Toby just after 6am on a cloudy cool morning
Chickens here to greet us - looking for breakfast. Its not raining but very wet and low cloud. Snagged and tagged this one care of the hint. Cheers

We spent most of this rainy day driving and caching. Both were more difficult in the sometimes heavy rain, but the gorgeous landscapes and the luxuriant vegetation made the journey worthwhile. We had a late lunch at the Mussel Inn - delicious steamed mussels and mussel chowder. Then the sun made un effort, and we opted for a long walk at Parapara Beach collecting some shells. We found fourteen caches today which was pretty good. Many thanks to all the cache owners!
Heading to Takaka for the long weekend. Just picking up a few caches on the way. Thanks for the caches it made the trip over the hill that bitt more interesting
This was but a very short detour on our way to Golden Bay for the day. It did take some care hunting this cache with the area recently being used for "other" purposes.
Thank you bumandworker.
Thank you bumandworker.
With an even for us old muggle friend as company today we tried to make every cache on the list a P&G. No problems sofar. Then approaching GZ proper gave us that feeling of: "Oh no, not again". Another spot that was used as a public toilet. We were not going to be deprived of a find though and carefully inspected the area. I circled twice around where the find was made for obvious reasons. After signing the right log we were very quickly on our way again. Thank you bumandworker
I normally just plug away, letting the calendar do its own thing, so was rather surprised when I discovered that this was a long weekend, only 4 days ago. What to do? So up before dawn and off to see my dad in Nelson. A two hour drive. Hope to get there before dinner time! While here I might as well do some work on the Oriental Bay earth cache, and that means a drive over the hill to Takaka. Wow! Someone has been busy! There are WAY more caches here than when I was last here!
We picked up a hitchhiker and his dog on the way back - his pickup had a major fail after towing a badly balanced trailer over the hill. Stopped by here to check out the lookout. A few people here already, but luckily the cache is nicely out of view. Found with Dad, Ryan and Whistle.

We took the longer way to GZ following a geotrail, checking as we went. Once we found the cache we took the shorter route back to the car. Shame this one doesnt get as much attention. Thanks for the cache
NZDi and I have been planning a long weekend in Golden Bay for a month or so and today these plans came into fruition. Of course a long weekend out of town would not be complete without the odd cache thrown in and so a few caches were planned along the way. The weather back in Blenheim had been crap all week and the forecast for the weekend was not that flash either, however as soon as we got across the Whangamoa's we could see this part of the country was bathed in sunshine.
This was our sixth cache of the day and we decided to stop here for a bite to eat. While NZDi prepared lunch, I went in search of the cache and thanks to a decent set of coordinates and a good hint, it was soon in hand.

Found this on a beautiful day, together with Visa96. Kind regards from Denmark and Germany. TFTC
Signed in logbook as Visa96, but have created a new profile, since my old one was shared with a friend. Found in company with 'zliber' - TFTC
Initially we tried the wrong road in, but once that was sorted, after a short walk, the cache was a quick easy find. TFTC
Great parking and view, Took a few minutes to find, got there in the end, Thanks.
Waitangi Weekend, off to Golden Bay for a spot of caching.
Thanks for the hide.

A quick and easy find, especially because of the good hint .
Thanks for the cache.

A day trip to Nelson with my caching daughter nightowl19 and to boost her, and my, South Island cache finds. The day was 'planned' around the earthcaches at the top, and bottom, of Riwaka hill and entailed few inevitable stop offs, park and grabs, small walks etc, you get the picture. In the end we grabbed just over 20 caches and I moved closer, but not yet at, my target of 3000 finds (that will be done tomorrow)
Had a great day including a swim in the sea at high tide at Tahunanui, seeing the Riwaka resurgence and a fish and chip supper on Nelson waterfront, getting 'home' at 9.30 (for the second night in a row).
Temperatures today ended up reaching the magical 30 degree mark, too hot for some caches in the end so the plan was reduced a little bit.
A small 'diversion' on the way through Richmond to try and find ten normal (not Premium member) Traditional caches, as was the intention for most of todays finds as nightowl19 isn't a Premium member.....yet

It's been many years since we had been to Golden Bay, and a long weekend seemed an ideal time to reacquaint ourselves with the area (and find a few caches as well ).
Nearly missed the turnoff, not sign posted at all. After parking the car, we had a little choc cake to fend off the hunger pangs before heading down to GZ. Quick find for StreetWalker. Luckily didn't notice any toilet paper, as the last log mentions. Maybe has bio-degraded? TFTC.

#8428. The previous lookout was clearly signposted; this one we nearly drove past. Didn't take long to locate this one. TFTC.
Came to the spot clue seemed to fit but were weary of searching too hard as the area was covered with soggy toilet paper so decided to give it a miss
Nice spot but to get a good photo need to stand on the rock and lift the camera above your head. Nicely placed cache. Thank you. Left travel bug.
Did a cache check just a few days ago....all was clear at the cache site then.
Today we hope to achieve our best month ever for caches. We will probably never beat this as caches where we live are quite rare. We headed over Takaka Hill today hoping to add a few caches to the final count. This was the fifth, a quick park and grab. TFTC.
Have passed this spot many times and never pulled in until now. Great views and a good diversion on the long drive home. Thanks for the find.
cache check....find cache in open at back of first rock, and second log bag not being used.
very frustrating that cachers not returning things properly.

Found on our way from St Arnaud to Collingwood. Nice view. Note the cache seems to have moved from hint provided. TFTC
We spent the night here, nice spot to pitch a tent too bad we didn't have reception to search for caches! I'm still logging my Tbs' way, TFTC.

I have to say I was blown away by the state of this look-out area, it's a disgusting mess
Will definitely keep it in mind and come up when I can with some KNZB (keep nz beautiful) litter bags .. Or better yet arranging a CITO Event because it's far more than I can easily do on my own?!
Anyhoo, back to the cache, no trouble finding it and thanks once more to b&w for bringing me up a track I pass all the time but never pay attention to

great views and an easy find, had the most delicious blackberries nest to where we parked tftc
Forgot to log this at the time, just found it with others in my notebook..... thanks!
Another quick stop. Would be much nicer if people weren't using it as a loo. TFTC
A beautiful spot. Found cache but unfortunately it was hidden by some human waste presumably left by freedom campers! Yuk! We managed to extricate the cache and have moved along slightly. Clue still applies

Heading out of the Bay after a family Christmas on the first leg back to Christchurch. I'd never stopped here before even though I've been over this hill many times in the last 45 years! Cache easily found amongst the clouds starting to roll over from the Motueka side. TFTC.

A bit surprised that not more visitors stopped here. It was nice and easy find, TFTC
A few muggles but they left us to it soon enough.Easy to find.

The 9th geocache we located on our return journey home from our fantastic family holiday in Golden Bay. Dad found it while Mum & the kids ate lollies and cheered him on from the car. The weather was still too miserable for a decent view. We hope to be back on a more scenic day. TFTC
found it on a roadtrip around the south Island. it was great fun to discover this one. TFTC!! happy hunting and greetings from GERmany

Have come up from Christchurch for a week staying at Kaiteriteri, this was our second find (2 of 4) for the day, great , Nice Hide, TFTC. 1eyednbf (1 eyed Cantab and proud of it).
Nice cache, no views - it´s raining and I can see only drops of water and clouds and fog behind. TFTC!
Had to stop and look then hunt - having a Bob in the back of the vehicle made it more appropriate
Quick find and then slow view admiring.... nice spot. Thanks for the cache.

A muggle was parked here so had to be careful. Found cache after a good search but had no pen with us, didnt want to look too suspicious so didnt bother to sign. Lovely spot for a cache, great views!! Thanks
Removed wet log book, new dry log sheet in. Left in same position, no sign of human mess mentioned in previous logs. See how it goes.
Gotta tell the truth sorry. GZ was a travelers toilet featuring a gigantic turd a metre from the cache. Log wet. Out of all the awesome bum&worker caches probably not my favourite
Thanks for the Cache.
