Hi richbritty

This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit and after my previous reviewer note, there has been no owner response. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).

I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.

Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.

Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.

Had a look but couldnt find it

No luck on this one and with the number of dnf’s lately, it might not be there anymore.

11-Mar-21
Down from Northland for a one week trip to Christchurch to pick up some solved puzzles, challenges, unusual cache types, Jasmer grid fillers, as well as a few others in passing.

Today we were off on a trip to Akaroa and after stopping off to do an AL on the way, passed by for fish and chips. Headed back over the scenic route and then stopped for a few more on the way back.

Despite a good look around for 10 minutes right on dusk, no luck for us here, even after a PAF. Thx anyway

DNF two years ago and a DNF now.
Spent half an hour or more here. Inspected each and every part of that bridge and of the surrounding growth. No luck. I even had some hints on what this possibly is. Still a sad face.

04-Dec-20
We had no luck here today, spent 30mins checking and re checking but was not to be found.

05-Nov-20

Down in Christchurch with the Squirrel, ABCDF4 and eyespyben. During Covid lockdown, we solved a load of puzzles and decided that this would be a good time to visit. We've enjoyed a few days of good weather and seeing the Canterbury countryside. The caches have been in varying states - some good, some not so much. Our time here has been a blast, and we'd like to thank all COs who have made this adventure possible. Thank you and TFTC.

With ABCDF4, eyespyben, and Gap (of Fap and Gap). Logging all finds as Team HRP (Huntly, Rotorua, Papamoa - Our hometowns)... During Covid-19 lockdown, we solved a truck load of puzzles around Christchurch - Canterbury region. No use thrashing the old grey matter for no cause - We decided we should make good on this handiwork...

There are lots of interesting trails and geoart surrounding Christchurch. What you aren’t told is how far flung some of these caches actually are. Some beforehand advice would have been great, so here are some of my notes... You’re welcome!

1. Mobile coverage is patchy, especially in those quiet, rural areas where it was most needed. Saving caches to offline might show that you are prepared and organised...
2. There are many dusty metal roads on the trails. The car will get messy, and your hair will feel like cardboard at the end of the day...
3. Suitable clothing and footwear are essential. You will climb in and out of hedges, gorse, and other rough stuff. You might get scratched, cut to shreds, and bleed a lot. It’s not advised to wear your brand new jacket on the day...
4. Take lots of food and drink. You’ll probably be head down, tail up and not realise you haven’t eaten until late afternoon. There are very few shops or gas stations out there...
5. Make sure that you secure keys and wallet and know where these are placed for easy retrieval. A full box of pens might be useful too, especially if you’re inclined to free some into the wild...
6. Know the difference between left and right, and north, south, east, and west. Turning right and heading north will not get you to South Christchurch quickly.
7. Look with girl’s eyes rather than boys eyes... Some caches haven’t been found in a while and you might have to get down on your knees to pray.
8. Always be prepared for misleading hints. This is what turns simple caches into D5/T5 hides... “Head height” could mean the cache is positioned at your toes.
9. Have a sense of humour and like the people you go caching with. It’s going to be a very long day, and you might want to hurt someone during the journey...
10. Make sure you can operate your phone/device and it doesn’t crash when you most need it...
11. Learn to cut and paste logs because you’re going to repeat this function so often when logging all of your finds.
12. Above all else, have fun and be kind...

After the police moved us on from McLeans Island, we decided to head south-east. There are lots of interesting caches to visit in the area, including a puzzle trail, Canterbury CANZ and the Little River Ad Lab... We stopped for this hide along the way. The string of DNFs on this one had us concerned. But Gap had his hands on the hide as soon as we arrived. Yes, not your usual cache vessel, but no reason to dismiss it once you see it... Thanks richbritty and TFTC.

After puzzle solving in the Canterbury region along with EyeSpyBen we were invited to join Fap (from Fap & Gap) and Squirrel Nutcase to a week long caching adventure in the Canterbury area. With flights and accommodation booked were off, all met up in ChCh. and many hard dusty Kms travelled and many caches found, I think the Squirrel has said it all in his brief. Many thanks for the placements and Cos for bringin us to the very pleasant areas we travelled in to your region

We didn't find this cache last time we were here on 26/8/2010 or the time before that but this time Beeba located the clever cache and so we both turn a blue to a yellow smiley face. Wahoo! A very clever container so a favourite for the cache and for the adventure trying to locate it.

21-Jan-19
Very pleased to find something out of place. Very clever hide

29-Dec-18

Find 8 of 15 for the day, and a DNF cleaned up! I have no idea how I missed it the last two times; I must have looked right at it. This time I sent a message to a previous finder before I started looking. I then looked and found it within 5 minutes. It turns out Mr Cuddly Brick was getting some shut eye prior to a night shift - I feel for ya buddy!
TFTC Cool

27-Jan-18
Found after a short search today, GPS very accurate! Excellent camouflage and a favourite from us. Sadly too early for a bevy across the road TFTC

Heading home to Christchurch and feeling buzzed after creating our first hide in Barry's Bay we decided to look for caches on our way. Unfortunately no luck with this one - perhaps our phone lights made it difficult.
Watch this space - we will be back

17-Dec-16
My mission is my first 3 day tramp on Stewart Island. The Seagnoid has Xmas off so we are off on an epic adventure with Zara around the South Island. Toby and Zara are playing tag from Springs Junction to Akaroa. Akaroa was not on the Seagnoids radar, so navigation is by smart phone.
We park Zara up and jump into Toby, with the Seagnoid navigator & scribe and I delegated to log blogger and driver.
OK theres still daylight after dinner so lets cache little river. This took some hunting before finally snagging it. Local pub in great spirits. TFTC Cheers

17-Dec-16
TaybeeDragon and I are off for a three day walk on Stewart Island. But we have a camper, so once you add in getting there and back, it's a three week trip! Day 2: Springs Junction to Akaroa.
Going for a tour of Little River after dinner. This one took us rather a long time. The revellers in the pub didn't mind, they didn't even notice. Seemed like a bit of a party over there!

28-Aug-16
We've tried here before, but sadly dnf'd, however today was not that day and the cache was found! Such an excellent hide and a clever cache. Get's a favourite from us. And Mr Sharpe now wishes he'd been FTF as a free beer sounds so good right now. TFTC

17-Apr-16
It was a combination of holidays, family visit and caching. Initially heading for Akaroa we had a change of plan. So with no particular cache in mind other than finding the CANZ cache we set out. After meeting our objective we slowly cached our way back to the big smoke. The cache name is indeed an interesting proposition. Even considering the best approach to the car park and leaving it. Until we spotted the "leave here" sign of course. At GZ I had the cache in one hand while still searching with the other, duh!! Nice one on me there Red Face Thank you richbritty

17-Apr-16
We are having a few days in Chch visiting family and of course finding some caches as well.Today we had set out to go to Akaroa but a change of plans en route meant we only went as far as Little River with a side trip on the Port Levy road. This cache was one of 14 we found this afternoon. The logs were signed HZ+HM, H+H, or in some case with our full names.
Thank you richbritty.

13-Mar-16
Down to Akaroa for a family wedding, bit of a mission to get down to the main island, but making the most of it. Great place if you have the money. All in good condition and log dry. Making our way back to the city lights, this one is a wrap. Mission accomplished TFTC! Blenheim Bear
This log posted with CacheSense for Android!

31-Dec-15
This cache formed part of our road trip from Akaroa to Christchurch.

Our 2nd DNF on this one! A cunning hide obviously!

31-Dec-15
Not today... Camo a bit too good for us this time!

26-Nov-15
Nice camo. Handy shady seat from which to sign log. Handy as it ie 28 C.

18-Nov-15
After unsuccessfully seeking this cache a couple of times some years back I put it aside and forgot about it. Automatic filtering by my caching software of those caches with successive DNFs ensured that the cache stayed 'out of sight'. Last night, whilst looking at a map of currently available caches I noticed that this cache was again 'available' to me. So whilst passing through Little River with Tufty we decided to try our luck. This time the cache was found within seconds. We left as happy chappies with a smilie each. Thanks for replacing the cache. Cheers.

18-Nov-15
BaldEd and I travelled out Little River way to pick up the odd cache that we both had missing. Thanks for replacing.

Cheers for the cache.

01-Jan-15
Holy SMokes this was difficult - I guess I was not thinking well enough on this one - very difficult for me to find. Will be back by myself next time without people nagging at me to go home Smile Happy New Year THTF

08-Dec-14
met the local farmer on the bridge who says that the bridge needs rebuilding and hopes we were the council coming to view it!! no sign of the cache.

01-Dec-14
Looks like I'm not the only guy that's logged a DNF.

26-Oct-14
Spent a good 15mins here on our way home before finally resorting to asking for a clue from Mark in the pub. Richbritty, Mark is not keen to offer any help so you should probably remove that suggestion from your description. We'll have to give this one a go another time.

30-Aug-14
Well we had a DNF four years ago and now another one. Just don't seem to be able to lay our hands on this one even with three of us looking. With Beeba.

30-Aug-14
