This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).

I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.

Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache.

Could a check be made on this one. A number of DNFs from experienced cachers seems to indicate it could have gone AWOL. A large should be easy to spot?

This geocacher reported that there is a problem with this cache.

Another DNF. Could it be missing?

Big flop central! Searched thoroughly for half an hour with Brewmaker to leave empty handed, as we needed to keep moving to the IGD Event at Crosslands Reserve. There we spoke with a previous finder who said it took them 47 mins to find it, and I felt that we were so close, but left 12 mins too early. "Missed it by that much!". I'll return another day. Thanks anyway, Nilbog_Aus

Spent an hour searching
I found this cache back in 2012 and I remember it being much easier
Maybe next time

Lol that was a disaster. Walked in with my five year old daughter and spent ages where my GPS suggested was GZ. Eventually looked through photos and spotted a familiar spot further up the hill. Then disturbed a thousand inch ants and leeches and I’m sure the neighbourhood now thinks I murdered a small female child down here. We both wore a few bites and that was it for the little one - we had to bail. Arggh.

On the upside, we did find a golf ball and a spiderman soccer ball on the way to the cache, so the pain was worth it? Maybe? HAHA

Parked the car at the location indicated.
Found the track and off I went.
Got to near GZ and headed into the bush.
Got to GZ, although my GPS was all over the place.
I searched for about 20min and was about to give up.
I rechecked my GPS and it said I need to go down from where I was.
I searched again and just as I was going to give up, I found it under a bush.

The container is in good condition and is very dry.
I found the log book amongst the swaps and recorded my details.

The area has a lot of vegetation and growth.
Place the cache back and headed back to the car.
This is a very beautiful spot.

Awesome little walk and great cache. Thank you!!

Awesome large bow found!!! Nice walk

15-Apr-18
I came and found this one today because of its size being large. My target is 50 large cache finds this will make 39. It was a nice walk along the fire trail and a short search before the find. The cache is still in good condition despite it age. Thanks Mr, Mrs, Little Miss & Little Master Nilbog_Aus for the placement Cheers

Find #: 1,671
Companions: Geokid13
Muggles: 10,000 cicadas
Weather: Mad Dogs and Englishmen
Cache condition: Good

I needed to pop out to drop off a Christmas Present, and my wife asked me if I was going geocaching. I hadn't actually planned to, but given permission ... Smile I took the 13 year old along to get him out of the house. We parked at the recommended place and walked along the fire trail, with the trees and breeze counteracting the 35C conditions. When we got to the turn in the path we headed into the bush, loosely following the creek, until about 15m away. Once at GZ we spotted the container immediately, so signed the log and replaced the container (no swaps, despite this being the idea) and then headed back to the car's air conditioner. Thanks for the cache.

Well that took way too long. I think we turned this into a T4 but eventually found the goods. Now let's see if we can find an easier way out TFTC

Spent a while searching for this one. With some help from a previous photo we noticed a landmark and went from there. Somehow we always manage to find the hardest way to the cache. Is there an easier way out? Tftc

A short bush bash, but some worn trails make it easier if you look closely. Beautiful, peaceful spot. TFTC

Found the cache without too much difficulty. We were concerned about the bus bashing, but a successful find makes for a happy caching tram. TFTC. The 4Rods.

Found this with the family- about 10m from the coordinates. Left some swaps - wasn't much to swap out.

Great hiding spot

10-Jun-17
I was in the address hinting for a coupe of specific caches to meet my stat requirements, but what have we here? A large one! That i must find!
I took an easier way than suggested and parked only 100m away from gz. The locals must have made the rough steps leading down the steepest bit, the rest was easy to scramble.
I four the cache in plain view with nothing to cover it with. Just hope that few muggles come this way.
Thanks for the cache.

Caching with JordsAu and morry9

This one was a bit of a bush bash once we found a track in... JordsAu made the find while i was check our some of the caves. When we got got back to the car.. we had to break out the salt to get rid of all the leachers.

Found with TOMBI!, on one of our trips down to Sydney to get some high rated caches, building up to an adventurer challenge cache. We knew where some Superhero TB were, we still stopped here to get the large cache. TFTC

28-Mar-17
Saw that a bunch of superheroes descended on North Sydney, so BillHill531 and I spent a day meeting as many of them as we could. Our journeys took us from Hornsby to Glenhaven then Pennant Hills, before heading home for another cache. We found all the heroes we were looking for as well as a few rare D/T combinations and even a new placed date.
This was our third stop. I cant resist a large size cache, and so we didn't. Parked as close as we could and went over a flow of what smelled like sewage. A short trip down the hill to the coordinates, then back up the hill as the GPSr caught up with me. Searched a few places, before BillHill found the cache a little exposed. I do not think many people come here so should be safe. The cache was in good condition and I was surprised we just got seven months unloved on this cache.
Thanks for the fun walk, nice area and good sized cache!

After looking in on the obvious spot for a whole I found it just nearby. Good view on the way.

14-Aug-16
We spent time doing some caches in the area with W of Team C&W, Little Roo and Bryzee. This one was our first target.

Took a bus from Hornsby and then followed the map. We were hoping there might be a shortcut via Raphael Drive, especially when Open Street Maps hinted towards that.
Rocked up and noticed there's a newly installed fence blocking access. And it's all rather steep and overgrown. It could probably have been doable with effort but while we were applying mozzie repellant, decided to opt for the long but easy route in.

U-turn, walk around the estate and we hopped off the firetrail. First it was pretty easy going but then got more overgrown and varied under feet.

Our smartiephones and GPSr's slowly zeroed in and we did couple of false starts with the search.
Going through the most obvious options in the vicinity we gradually moved ahead and W was the lucky one here.

Oh yes, this container is shot with swaps. Little Roo inventoried them while others calculated who can attend caching events next weekend and move some geocoins.

The GZ has probably been T2.5 back in time but is now more like T3. Perhaps the CO may want to monitor this and update the rating one day to follow the changes at the GZ.

All good here. TFTC, Mr, Mrs, Little Miss & Little Master Nilbog_Aus!

This is my last weekend in Sydney.
This Friday I'll go back to the Netherlands after being here for 6 Months.
In the 6 months I had plenty of opportunities to search for Geocaches.
I have found 276 caches. 2 of my founds were FTF's
The hiding methods do not differ that much from the Netherlands.
The biggest difference are the mystery caches which must be solved in the field.
When I looked at them the first time I had no idea how to solve them.
The puzzles did not make sense to me. After finding most of the caches near the CBD office I wanted to solve the puzzles too.
After reading some logs I found out that the only way to solve them was to visit the given coordinates.
Looking back I enjoyed geocaching in Australia very much.
On my last Sunday in Sydney I wanted to do an old Multi.
So I had decided to go to North Hornsby.
A week ago I had informed Tdimdad about my plans and asked his if he was interested in joining me.
He mailed me he was interested and that he would come together with Bryzee and Little Roo.
After meeting at the railway station we took the bus to North Hornsby.
And like most geocachers we checked if the was a shorter route to the cache than the ones indicated in the description.
After a short investigation we decided to take the indicated route as a fense was blocking the route we wanted to take.
We followed the fire trail which looked more path than a trail.
When the GPS was pointing to the left we left the path to go into the bush.
We realized it was not the easiest route to take but were we were closing in to gz.
Our GPS devices has some troubles pointing to gz.
But after searching for a while I found the cache.
After writing our team names in the logbook and swapping some goodies.
It was time to visit the main target for today.
And of cause we found a much easier path back to the fire trail
Thanks for the geocache I enjoyed the search.
In TB/Out GC.

Down from the Central Coast out caching with Little Roo, Tdimdad and Team C&W. This was our first cache of the day and it did not disappoint us. It was Team C&W that had the keen eye to spot this cache. Little Roo found a small star wars figure to swap. I found a Trackable Pig and dropped a couple as well one being a Duck Dash TB. TFTC

#3194 (Streak day 414)

Just the one today after attending to some financial matters with the Geowife. As a result I got to the trailhead late - only 45 minutes of sun left, if that.

And the trail is wet. And I'm wearing the wrong shoes. And as I left the firetrail realised I should have applied some anti-leech liquid. At least I did grab the hiking pole.

Followed the track on the app the went close to GZ, then looked for a spot to cross the creek. Feet slipping but the pole was the saver, so managed to get across without getting wet. Feet still slipping on the leaf litter. Definitely a better idea to get this one in the dry.

But soon I was close to GZ and... there it was sitting on a rock! Not sure that's right.

Completed signing duties, didn't spot the *Natural Wonder* GC (not a surprise after checking the TB's logs) and replaced in a slightly less obvious, but not really camoed, spot.

Then started back out, recrossed the creek and once out of the wetter areas I did a leech check - two on my shoe, none on me. Removed them and continued back to the firetrail. Did a second check as I don't trust them... one more spotted and removed.

Back at *The Hademobile* as the sun dipped below the horizon - did a third check. Two more on my shoe. I've done well to avoid getting bitten.
Got out the repellent and liberally applied to my shoes, my socks and my ankles. And that was the end of them. Phew.

Time for home.

Third time lucky! We finally found it thanks to a persistent dad. Swaps inside are mostly McDonalds toys and not of great value so we left a good toy for someone else who is into trains. Thanks for the cache it was great fun!

21-May-16
Remoteish place, unique in discovery but not very good contents. Slightly uphill

08-May-16
Too many leaches! Too many bull ants! Definitely not recommended for kids under 10. Don't try it from Sydney Road as there are two large cliffs 10+ meters high. Too dangerous for kids!!! Disappointed as we have it our best Sad

15-Mar-16
Found this a couple of days ago with my ranga bro Josh. It was a bit harder to get to the cache than we thought, because we obviously took the hardest route, but we got there in the end and spotted it easily once in the area. TFTC!

#3530 - I was heading along for the Geotrek and in hindsight this probably wasn't the greatest of choices for someone on their own. Nothing wrong with the cache- but I was hurrying and this was the rating it said. Great cache-lovely to see something so large! Thanks.

11-Mar-16
Wow amazing spot had to resort to the clue to get back from my lunch break in time

12-Feb-16
No luck today.
I did sit on a large rock for maybe 30 minutes and was entertained by a pair of lyrebirds displaying and going through their repertoire of calls. They were only about 3 metres from me and not worried at all.
It was something really nice to see in the bush.

Team Omam from the Netherlands has only one aunt left. And as she will have her 100th birthday early February, we decided to join the birthday party. But …., she lives in Sydney Australia! An excellent opportunity for us to explore this continent once again and find Geocaches along the way. We will do a 3.5 weeks trip! At places where we will stay for a few days (Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney and Darwin), we will organize Meet and Greet events. We will try to find mainly caches with high favorite points, caches from 2000 and 2001, earth caches, webcam caches, virtuals and letter box hybrids.

We tried to follow the track around to the cache, but the track on the GPS disappeared so we had a heavy bushbash ahead, once arrived we headed straight out, taking the shorter route out.

Made the mistake of not checking the parking WP and tried to access via trail from the divided section of Sydney Rd. There were 2 steep 10m drops to get to GZ. Was able to get down one but couldn't see how to manage the second. Ended up riding around to end of Raphael Dr. As I was starting to enter the track, saw teenage muggle walking his dog near GZ so waited a few minutes before approaching. With the help of the hint I quickly narrowed down some likely spots and soon had CIH. Cache is packed with lots of swaps but as that's not my cup of tea TNLN. TFTC. Found a small leach on my ankle when I got home Smile

Thus one was awesome! Watch out for leeches...

#132 found it after searching in the area. Didn't see any leaches or ticks but still itchy afterwards. TNLN but also didn't see the TB in the cache. Thanks for bringing me to this area

After much searching we were unable to find cache Sad

02-Feb-15
Made sure there was no muggles about at the end of the street before starting the assault. With the guidance of the iPhone, had GZ 5m to the south. TNLN, not too sure if food is a good idea in caches, as there is chewy container inside.

Found with dad on a morning of caching around the galston and hornsby heights area. Wasn't planning on stopping here, but figured it didn't look like it would take too long (we'd just gone to the nearby frog hollow cache). Turned out to involve more bush bashing than we expected ...we certainly earned our smiley lol. As well as the terrain to contend with, there was also a large nest of jumping bull ants near GZ as my dad sadly found out >_< Sprung up to the refuge of the nearby rock to complete logging duties before replacing cache and clambering back up to the car.

03-Jan-15
A nice morning caching with SSSonya, although a bit hot and humid. Quite a bush bash, so always a relief to finally have CIH at GZ. Indeed, watch out for the bull ants nest, as SSSonya mentioned. Also back at the car, I had what appeared to be small spider ..... was actually a Tick Surprised. Brushed it off quickly, then felt like my skin was crawling with little critters for sometime thereafter . Nonetheless, a great hide and adventure. TFTC Big Grin

#50 in current streak.
Lovely area. Parked at the end of The Outlook and walked in. cicadas very noisy. At 0m there was an object that matched the hint but 7m sth was a better one where the cache was. Grabbed the Fly with me Trackable to move on and left the swag. Replaced as found. Thanks for placing.

Found with AM at dusk, our last cache of the day. Beautiful walking track, we loved the serenity of the place. A bit of bush bashing at the end bit - not too bad, but I did find a leech on my shoe as I was signing the log. We both did a couple leech checks and AM found one too, but got 'em in time! I can see how kids would love finding this big cache with lots of toys to sway and many TBs. We "discovered only" those in the cache. TFTC!

07-May-14
Found with CJ this afternoon whilst out on our calendar gap chase cache which took us up to Berowa and Galston

There are a few new ones that we haven't done around here and it was great to chase these down and get them off the nearby list. Today the weather was perfect for a stroll along some bush trails. It was nice after so much rain, although the area is still very wet. The coords from the GPSr were about 5 metres off but the hint was excellent. We didn't have any swaps, so we discovered the TB's. As we were doing the signing duties, CJ spotted some dreaded leeches on our shoes. Yuk, leeches are the worst. Must have been after all the rain.

Anyway, it was a great day for a walk and of course finding a cache Smile Thanks Nilbog_Aus for another of your caches. SL TNLN TFTC

Awesome cache with HEAPS of swaps but dude seriously, you gotta move it. There were bull ants all over the place were I found it and my friend got bitten by two of them other than that EPIC cache! P.S took the Australia travel bug.

Oh and forget to mention. Watch out for the ants near the cache it is in the middle of where we tried to go through the spoils and they damn sting. Once you have the cache move a little distance b4 opening. Wink

5/07/13. 7:49 AM. Cache #728. Current streak: 299 days. After a frustrating DNF at "Not a Hospital", I was grateful to see a nearby easy one that I could find instead, to keep the streak going. However as this wasn't my first choice I hadn't come prepared with any big swaps. It was an easy walk - even the last 40m has become a bit of a cacher's track. Easily found cache and "happy to have come out leech free, it seems"...is what I started typing, but just now did a double check and had a bugger on my ankle. Doh! TFTC }:)

08-Jun-13
Found the cache and looked down at our shoes to find leeches crawling up. Just then a man and woman scream a terrifying scream from a nearby house. At this point it was time to leave forgetting to swap anything.

03-Jun-13
Reperio at 1340.

I was in the area today, and I couldn't pass up the chance for a large container and a walk...so off I went. The walk in was quite nice, and finding my way to GZ off track was nice and easy. After a short search the cache was spotted.

Gratias Nilbog_Aus.

30-Apr-13
The trail in was easy and not steep, but the final approach was not so easy. I wasted time looking around GZ then looked for more likely places, finally succeeding about 12m off GZ. When I came out of the bush I had 6 large leeches looking for a meal, but they were all attached to my jeans. Reminder to self: put on the Bushmans! Thanks for a really good short walk and great cache. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

First looked at it from the closest road access but that wasn't looking too helpful, so checked the notes to work out where I should be parking. A very nice stroll down the fire trail, with a few other walkers also enjoying the pleasant afternoon. Once near GZ the GPS wasn't being too helpful, but after checking the hint I spotted a likely spot and there it was. No swaps for me, I sort of stopped that when I stopped having kids tagging along, but I agree they do love them. Thanks Nilbog_Aus.

03-Nov-12
After taking on bush basher, this should have been easy....and so it was, right up until replacing the cache. For some reason, I got a bit disorientated as I headed back out, and made a bit of a palaver of it. Finally spotted the fire trail, and on my last step out of the bush and promptly slipped on some vegetation, fell and sprained my ankle. It was really quite painful as I lay there half on and half off the fire trail flailing and sobbing to myself. Finally managed to right myself and wobble to my feet. Limped away in the direction of the car and was pleased to find a stout branch for a walking stick. When I got home I realised that I was covered in leeches in the gap that had opened between by pants and top as I lay in distress. Good job they don't bother me much - unfortunately for them, they ended up flushed down the toilet!
I now have frozen veg on my ankle which is twice the size of the other....but gin will help Big Grin

We parked at the suggested trail head and set off on a nice walk through the bush. It was not long before we saw the creek and the GPSr needle started to via north off the track. We followed a few trails and after a little crciling came across a well stocked cache. The kids had a swap, took the travel bugs and dropped one off. SL and replaced.

We decied to do one more cache together and after my GPSr lead us to within 60m of the cache, we realised this was NOT the way to go in. Opted for the trailhead, and so we drove there, parked and made our way 500m into the bush. Veered off at 50m as stated and got to GZ fairly fast. PPE spotted cache as I closed in. My coords we 8m out, but you could see this big cache from a distance anyway. We checked the contents and SL. I dropped a GC and picked up a TB. Then we made our way back again. Nice bush cache, thanx Nilbog Aus, TFTC.

We were running out of time today, as night was approaching quickly so we opted for a different entry point. This proved a bit slippery and skaty but took a lot less time. Would not recommend it unless you are part goat but it worked for us. Once at GZ we soon found the cache and had the log signed. Then began the scramble back up to the car. TFTC.

Chook, Christine Vista and I parked the car at the beginning of the fire trail and headed into the bush after about twenty metres along it. Wow, what a bush bash. My GPS was pointing me way off the beaten track, when Christine Vista re-read the clue, looked at her surroundings, put two and two together and came up with the cache pretty quickly. Christine Vista took the wombat stamp and the iKarly phone and Chook left a scarf and candle lights. TFTC

Checked for a possible short route but took the tried and proven firetrail and found a vague trail by the creek that led nicely to GZ. What a big box! Nice warm morning in the bush and the creek was alive with frogs. No swaps today. Thanks.

Bit of bush bashing off the trail to find the cache. Nice one. Gotta love the big cache's. Thanks.

Quite a steep bit of bushland, and it was very wet and slippery from the rain over the last few days. I wouldn't normally go into bush like this, but hey, tell me there's a cache there and then try to keep me out! Got quite wet from bush bashing, and as I was driving away I could feel something on my leg. Quick pitstop on the side of the road to pull all the leeches off my legs! Got about six of the buggers, and was still finding them when I stopped for lunch a bit further on! Took shoes off and sprayed them with Bushman's, but the heebeegeebees linger on! TFTC

Bit of a bush wack, few spiders, jumpin ants all on a hot sweaty day. Meow for now

Came in from Raphael Dr, as it was only approx 60M to GZ, not that bad a decent after under taking nearby “Bush Bash”. Had to widen GZ search due to poor GPS coverage, but got the cache in after about 10min. TFTC

It was good to find a cache not hidden in the usual way, and with lots of capacity.
Took a whistle, left a ball (and felt that I should have brought something bigger).

This being the closest cache to my place, and having some Christmas presents that needed disposing of, proved a nice mix.

Attempted descent from Sydney Rd roundabout with 5 year old - NOT RECOMMENDED!

End of The Outlook is the way to go. The cache is tucked away in some pretty thick bush - less adventuresome littlies might find it tough-going. No leeches but plenty of soldier ants milling about.

We took along a Hi-5 DVD (sorry to inflict that on someone) and a new engine & carriages from Thomas the Tank Engine (a Christmas themed Percy if you're wondering). The cache didn't appear to have too many 'big swaps' left in it, otherwise it is in good order. We left our two items and took the red car. Signed log.

On the walk back a decent sized goanna skittled across the track right in front of us, scaring the daylights out of us.

Thanks Nilbogs for the cache.

We were mobbed by a 1000 mozzies and even a sneaky leech. Found cache fairly quickly though we had nothing to swap. TLNLSLTFTC.

Great cache. Lots of leaches and ants so watch the kids. TFTC

Great swap cache. Thanks. Great idea to have such a large one. A bit difficult to get to with little kids.

Found by Nanny and Bo on an overcast Monday noon.
Down here we could not get the GPS in to less than +/- 12 metres. By averaging a few places, we got to within a few metres.
A chance notice found the cache.
By missing some pages in the log, we thought that it had not been found since last year. We were wrong!
We plan to bring some grand geokids. NOT FOR SWAPPING YOU CLOWNS but do do swapping in an extraordinary well stocked cache.

Took newbies Chombu on their first cache. ChombuGeoGirl found it but only after we took the long way around. Had specifically done this chache to place a rather large travel bug and spent so long mediating the kids swapping that I was half-way back up the firetrail before I realised I'd forgotten to leave the bug! Found it much quicker the second time.
