We still have fond memories of everyone we met at this event.

26-Sep-09
I was so sorry that I had to miss this event. I had very little internet access during my trip and forgot to write down the coordinates before I left. Now that I am back and looking at the info, I was really close to you all that day. My friend and I took the city bus tour (hop-on and hop-off) and we went to Mt Cootha and the gardens that day. We had lunch at the Mt Cootha cafe on the top of the mountain (from the photos, it looks like some of you were up there as well!) I really enjoyed my time in Brissie, though. The fireworks the first night I was there were fantastic!!

Thanks Just a Trifle. It was a very pleasant and interesting afternoon.

You asked us to post here a list of our favourite caches suitable for visitors. We have thought about it. There are many but here are some.

In the City Centre:
- For sheer audacity: If's "A Night On The Tiles" (GC1J160).
- For Brisbane history: Thefourbees "Scrabble - A bit of history" (GC1KHWR) and several of HawMorFords' including "Windmill" (GC10ZNX).
- An interesting novelty: Thefourbees "Through the Eye of a Needle" (GC1T06C) but it does require knowledge or keen observation of Brisbane landmarks.

Near the City Centre:
- K8'n'Co's Whodunit series (GC1DKAF), (GC1E9T3), (GC1E9TB), (GC1E9TE) and (GC1E9TJ). They are worth doing individually but if you intend to do them all and solve the murder read (GC1DRNG) first. Be warned however. K8'n'Co's cache disguises are fiendish.

If you have time and are prepared to go out further and hike into the bush some of our all time favourites are:
- K8'n'Co's "Monolith" (GCZRF2) and their "Bushranger" series. For the latter first read (GC13M6Z).
- Wingaap's "Bright Eyes" (GC16AAW), "Fatso" (GC110A8) and "Come in Spinner" (GC12JH8} and more.

There are many more but that is long enough.

Thanks again Just a Trifle. It was a great chance to meet you and others again.

thanks Just A Trifle and everybody else who has helped organizing this great event, and everybody who has visited to make it such a success!

I visited with my wife, to get to know further geocachers in the area and have a chat with the geocachers already met at the plough inn meet & greet.

Nice location with some caches in the area, which we can now search now that we have a car Smile

Thank you to everyone who attended the event, provided assistance and contributed information about some of the caches in Brisbane. Smile We had a great time meeting our overseas visitors, together with many local teams we had not met before. Cool You all made the event a success and we look forward to seeing many of you again. We even managed to pick up a few clues on how we might solve some more puzzle caches Big GrinBig Grin

Many thanks to Just a Trifle for a great day out, good to meet up with the Geobuddies and meet those who we have only emailed and O/S fellow geocachers also. Had a great day, even though with a few bumps & scratches.

13-Sep-09
Thanks a lot Just a Trifle for organising this well-attended event! It was great to meet new cachers and chat with those I already knew. I tagged along with a few others and as a bonus found a few more caches I hadn't found before on Mt Coot-tha. See you at the next event!

13-Sep-09
After a Burleigh Boulders Dash in Gold coast, we were greeted to a great meet in Brissie. Thanks for the effort from all involved and we will see each other in the caching world in the future

Thanks JAT for another well organised... and well attended!! event. Great to see some new and old faces, get a hint or two

13-Sep-09
Had a great day at this very well-attended geoevent. Always nice to chat to folks from overseas and hear how they do things. Heard a few whispers that hopefully will translate into puzzle solutions and even offered a whisper of my own that had a couple of people hovering over a laptop for some time Big Grin. Thanks to Just a Trifle for organising the event. Happy caching everyone.

13-Sep-09
Thanks Just a Trifle and everyone
This was my first event cache and a huge amount of fun!
Thanks so much for organising the day.
I had a ball, learned lots, met many, ate much, dropped lots of trackables, discovered many more, took a few, found a cache, made new friends and exchanged stories.
Looking forward to doing another event next time one comes up on the radar.

Had a great day at this very well-attended and organised event. Always nice to catch up with local and cachers from overseas. Another great Spring day in Bribane. Thanks to Just a Trifle for organising the event.

13-Sep-09
What a great day! Thanks to Robyn and Darren for organizing the day and all the hard work you put in. Met some new friends and caught up with some we have met before. Swapped stories, hints and frustrations. A couple of recommendations of Brisbane cahces would be Kut-ta views and Rooted Moreton (both with great views of the city). Thanks for the day all! Picked up Robjane's sun catcher. What a beautiful coin. Willl move it on soon.

13-Sep-09
dropping off tb.

13-Sep-09
What a great turn out for this event. Some of the group had to split and find alternate shade as the marquee had become a standing room only domain... Surprised

Good to see familiar faces and meet a few new ones. Thanks to Rhesusfactor for finding me in the crowd and advising me that I had found one of his caches and not yet logged the find... Red Face

Robyn's baking never fails to please and I admit to partaking in a little too much sweet stuff... Twisted It's OK though cause I walked it all off after the event... Honest... Wink

Thanks JAT for a great afternoon.

A HUGE THANK YOU to Just a Trifle for all the effort put into getting this Event off the ground and for all the organizing on the day. Thanks also for the food that was laid on for us as well. Cool It was a fantastic Event and was great to "meet the locals". The weather was fantastic and we eventually left there well after 16h00. See you all at the next one!Big Grin

I'm heavily jet lagged from recent trip to Europe but will be there before 10am to join the tap dance. Haven't found Birthday number 8 either. Any further instructions or are we just meeting there before 10?

Will be there for BBQ as well of course.

12-Sep-09
Mt Cootha Tap Dance - Just arrive before 10am and go off from there. Looks like we might have a reasonable size group, tapping their way up the mountain.

11-Sep-09
If it wasn't for the last minute, I'd get nothing done . I'll be there with Mrs Lat&Long.
That Mount Coot-tha Tap Dance has been annoying me for some time. GhostGums, we just might see you at 10am for that wander.

11-Sep-09
I will be attending along with Ally-Searching (geo-daughter).

Hopefully arriving early to tackle Mount Coot-tha Tap Dance as well..

11-Sep-09
Hi jppgh - couldn't really say how long people will stay, but would not be surprised if some are still there at 3.30 - 4.00pm.

11-Sep-09

10-Sep-09
Great list of people for this event, well done!! I will come early and hopefully get some exercise in before hand.

Thanks JAT!!

10-Sep-09
Hello everyone!

What time would you expect an event like this to go to? I'm going to be a bit late and want to know what time people will be there till.

After 9317 miles I hope I can make the few miles in time. Thank you!

25-Aug-09
Hi Everyone - we will be leaving in exactly 2 weeks for Brisbane as well. I have at least 10 TB's and Geocoins that will be travelling along and will be at the Event. It is my intention to collect as many as possible to bring back to the Middle East with me. If there are any that need to travel be sure to bring them along. I can also drop off in Hong Kong / China if any need to go in that direction as we will be stopping over on the way home.

Looking forward to seeing you all there. We might be a bit later than 13h00, but will be there nonetheless. Cool

25-Aug-09
It is our intention to arrive quite early to set up - given our rather warm weather lately, a hat and lots of sunscreen will be a must. As far as the question of needing raincoats goes - probably not required because rain doesn't seem to occur terribly often anymore. For our local teams, it would be a good idea to bring along your folding chairs and tables if you have any.

25-Aug-09
Seems the poking has had a desirable affect Just a Trifle.... A bit more interest now... Big Grin

Always up for a gatherring of fellow sportlavers, I fully intend to be at this event. It is likely that Silver Sovereign (Oldest Junior Gunnie) will tag along also.

If anyone is keen, I will probably check in a little earlier and trek through the path at the end of JC Slaughter Falls entrance, to find Birthday No.8 cache. Happy to wander a little further if someone wants to tag along and hasn't got any other other nearby caches. Don't rely on my navigation through this area though... Red Face

Contact me direct if you are interested and if it turns out there will be a number of us, I will post further info on this page closer to the time.

Cheers...

24-Aug-09
Hi all... I will be visiting from California along with a friend from London. I know nothing about Brisbane or how to get to the meeting location. I will be staying at the Portal Hotel in Spring Hill on Astor Terrace. If anyone can give me good directions on how to get there using public transportation, I would be very grateful! I will probably have some Travel Bugs or Geocoins to swap. Send me a note if you can help. Thanks!

Cindy - aka myhrmaid

22-Aug-09
Modelbear (2 of us) will be there and bringing some coins and bugs needing to be moved on.

13-Aug-09
We've put it on the calender and intend to be there.

Bill and Cyndi

10-Aug-09
I (Derek) will be there with Geoson (Bryce)

09-Aug-09
I will be attending this event, as Cincol is my father in-law, I wouldn't miss this one.

06-Aug-09
Hi mhyrmaid - we hope you can make it. There are buses that go past the location, but may entail a walk of approximately 800m, you can find public transport information at http://www.translink.com.au

With all the interest from visitors being shown, we will have to poke a few of the local cachers to indicate their intention to attend also Red Face

05-Aug-09
Hi all! I will also be visiting Brisbane during this time (I'm from California and my traveling friend is from London). Maybe we will try to stop by as well. Is there easy public transportation to the park?

Thanks... Cindy... aka myhrmaid

31-Jul-09
It is intended this be a BYO event, however our intention is to take extra food along for our overseas guests Smile

31-Jul-09
Team GawnFishin from Quebec Canada checking in, we would like to attend and intend to try to be there though due to other commitments we will not be able to stay long as we have to be elsewhere the next day which will mean we would have to leave mid afternoon.

30-Jul-09
new to Brisbane, I look forward to meet fellow geocachers.

Also, I have a geocoin which desperately wants to go to "Blinklingmoos" - in Strobl, Austria (GC1A775), where France may be a good start.

27-Jul-09
G'day fellow aussies,
just to let you know that I am also visiting Brisbane from France with boulist44 and am looking forward to meeting you all.
The meet sounds great (but being a woman and men don't think of these things, it is upto me to enquire,) will it be a BYO meet?
See you on the mountain
