I am putting a traditional in its place.

12-Nov-17
Excited to see I might be reassured that the cache is there. I can't say how many times I have walked around the GZ and haven't spotted whatever it is I need to spot. Looking forward to this becoming a smiley

12-Nov-17
Time for a bit of TLC.

30-Sep-17
Another side trip for me before I have to collect the girls, so Marsden Valley was the choice. I had some good numbers of multi finals to find from previous recces and a few other possibles. The new housing developments are changing the scenery in these parts - that's progress though.
With a varied week of weather and the forecast improving over the hill as the week grew older, it was decided a traverse of the Whangamoas would be an attractive choice, and a rare trip out for me to get some caches was a welcome variation from the self-imposed (local) cache embargo.
Set off around 0900 and got back at the end of the day at around 6.30 PM so a decent trip out, and a few caches were found so just over a dozen finds, and a bit of variety too.
Had solved this multi from the couch before I left home and spotted the hint item upon approach.
Logged with permission of the CO, thanks for that

Returned from UK with 4 TBs but going to Australia next, so just dipping them in here for a short visit.

12-Mar-16
Having a really bad day today not finding a single cache from 4 attempts. Solved the puzzle & happy with the location but could not find.

14-Oct-15
This had turned into a nemesis cache with several fruitless attempts to find it (in rain and shine) in additional to the one official DNF.

To make matters worse other cachers of all levels of experience seemed to find it with the minimum of fuss.

So, what was I missing? Ah that! I'd stared there several times but this time an inquisitive urge took hold and some further exploration yielded what I had been looking for all the time.

A beaut hide and worthy for a FP.

Big Grin Thanks Alien Kiwis. A great model for the future. Nice puzzle too. A quick, scaly shortcut taken, and I was on my way. (to find the cache!) TFTC

15-Aug-15
A fun find on a sunny sunday bike-ride. Thanks.

01-Oct-14
I was scared to go in there because there was a bee but I did and found the cache with Nanzie

31-Aug-14
Gr8 cache well done

23-Aug-14
Went to check it was still where it should be after the DNF from the last cacher. I'm pleased to say it is definitely still there and I will be replacing the log book today, as I didn't have one with me when I was walking past.

13-Aug-14
Now I'm either consistently doing the maths wrong or reading too much/not enough into the clues and logs but I'm just not getting this one.

Tallest one? Check. Look up, look down, look all around? Check. Cache? No! Added to my list of caches to return to.

#7751. Out on the bike tracking down some caches Troodles had already found. It took a while before I spotted the well camo'ed cache. Nicely done. TFTC.

27-Jun-14
Used google street view to solve, even though I had to stop at the WP as I wanted to look for the nearby The Quest 8. But had to go for plan B for my cache of the day, after not finding that cache.
Hadn't been in this area before, and it was good to explore a little. My GPSr's batteries were running a little low, so made sure after arriving at GZ that I had read the hint etc before they expired. Didn't take too long to spot something interesting, nicely done.
Day #59 of my streak. TFTC.

Out and about with HazzfNZ on this rainy afternoon. Was a bit too focussed on one thing when I should have been more open minded. Hence HazzF did the honours.....Don't quite get the name though....but thanks Alien Kiwis.

25-Apr-13
Found this cache on an outing with my Dad - Biggles - and geodog - Fozzie. My dad gave a slight nod in the direction I should look. Thanks, Flying Phoenix.

28-Jan-13
Nice one. Appreciate the effort.

01-Dec-12
Cool hide. Loved it!!!! Thanks for the time and effort that went into this hide. Big Grin

15-Nov-12
The first part of this was easy, not so when it came to finding the cache at the end of it. It didn't help when the GPS showed GZ to be several metres away but dogged determination from hazedarus won the day. A very clever hide and with those nasty aloes sprouting up everywhere I'm glad we don't have to make a return visit. TFTC.

15-Nov-12
After working out the coords and arriving at GZ we were puzzled by the cache name. Since the foliage was not helping with the electronics the systematic and slow approach was adopted. It paid off and this sneaky hide produced another smilie. A fav coming your way Big Grin TFTC

17-Sep-12
Amazing what a bit of early morning light can do. Last time I tried to find this one was in the dark and couldn't see the cache for looking. Now it's a bit lighter in the mornings it was a very straightforward find of a very clever hide. TFTC

06-Sep-12
After stuffing up the maths, I later realised my misteek. So out for a bike via this but could not find. Added to our long "dnf" list. A couple more visits some time and hope not to add to our growing "will not find" list ! All part of the cache experience for us.

12-Aug-12
Very sneaky hide!!!!

05-Aug-12
Third time lucky. I cant believe I missed it last time. Awesome hide. Thanks Big Grin

09-Jun-12

12-Feb-12
Felt we hadnt done many multis lately so had a couple on the list for today !! this being one of them - a quick sort out of the clues and we were off to GZ had a couple of head scratching minutes then I had one of those aha moments - the container gave me a smile - thanks for the cache Smile

22-Nov-09
Found while out on Sundaybike ride with Mr KE, at least I found it first time

22-Oct-09
Lots of nice new houses in the area, the rather big bull in the paddock next doors was rather upset with my hunting.

Thanks Bitsprayer

29-Sep-09
School holidays - torrential rain and the cache nearby to where we were passing. Why not. A quick find by Mrs NAVFAM (and just as well as it was pouring) who much prefers these clever caches. Many thanks for the great cache and the awesome container. Thanks for the cache.

27-Sep-09
A good hide, great final.
Then off to meet the cache owners over brunch.
Thanks Nelson for the great hospitality this weekend.

Love the location of this cache - had an interview and tour of the hospital over 30 years ago, while trying to decide on a future direction.....

21-Sep-09
A good find and a well hidden cache, TFTF

18-Sep-09
Yet another ingenious hide. You and a few others are in a league of your own and make caching so enjoyable!!TFTF

10-Sep-09
As we drove towards Mot on Sunday after our DNF Mrs KE said "Did you check the _______?" "No" replies Mr KE "I thought you did" - opps. Red Face Popped up to gz at lunch time today to grab the cache and sign the log, total time there less than one minute. Lesson learned; have the caching brain fully engaged when Alien Kiwi's are involved. Big Grin Thanks for another cool hide.

06-Sep-09
Mrs KE in attendance today to attempt "Pining for a Hot Drink" and to help Mr KE avoid further "Alien Embarrassment". Thought we would warm up to the task on this one - but guess what - "We couldn't find it!!!" Went to "Pining" from here but too many Fathers Day muggles about so turned round and headed straight back out - perhaps next weekend the Dragons will be slayed and the Demons vanquished.

12-Aug-09
Great hide again! I didn't give up, and then there it was!

09-Aug-09
First to log but not first to find. We saw this had come up at about 11 am but the advice had come out before 9 so assumed it was well and truly found. We always like this part of Nelson so went out after lunch. The check sum is great - nice to know you have the right values before searching. Found after a bit of a look and not quite where we first assumed. Nice to have new cachers giving the rest of us work to do. Now on to the other new one. TNLN TFTC

09-Aug-09
First to find.. Yay!! Nice one. I've been thinking for a while that this area needed a cache (since the demise of Nawhatu Remorse I guess- which I never got to do) Anyway, good clues, had a few moments of torment and indecision searching for GZ but eventually got it! Great cache. Thanks heaps, Biggles.

09-Aug-09
Took me two visits to find this one. A long and thorough search the first time gave nothing, so off to do your Power to the Geocachers cache and then I realised this may be a bit more devious. Second visit some hours later and was on to it in seconds.
At last someone to rival Kiwi Nomads deviousness. Well done. The plastic bag hasnt survived the inner working of the cache by the way.
Well if this is what the Aliens can offer, bring on the Mother Ship I say.

09-Aug-09
This had us scratching our heads. The car battery was a good decoy! Then Mr Belt turned up so we half expected him to just waltz in and put his mitts on it. However Mr B and Ms M had better ideas. They decided to chew the fat while Mr M had another rummage. And hey presto. Ms M signed the log while Mr B wondered what he was going to do next while he had freedom from the kids.
TFTC - Great hide. I agree - bring on the mother ship.

09-Aug-09
Well now. Aren't you the busy ones. This one turned up on top of my nearest to find list, and those always need to be dealt to with prejudice! Wink Having just come from 'Power', I did the admin from behind the windshield, and drove on as I knew where it was pointing. As I arrived I saw some people milling about GZ and did usual drive up and "I know what you're doing" - turns out it's the Marchwoods in full head scratching mode. They pretty much assumed I was going to come in and provide a lesson in cache finding, but the sun was still nice, and I was enjoying the day too much to tear into it. Before I could get the energy up to show them how it was really done, the cache was presented to me by Mr M, and Mrs M even signed on my behalf!!! This is what a great Sunday afternoon gentleman's caching is all about. But yes, I was at a loss what to do next, so in turn I was off for some maintenance and deviousness of my own Wink TFTC, and T to the Marchwoods for all the hard work.

09-Aug-09
Much fun, thanks. I found it very quickly, but I had set my brain to "devious geocacher" mode, having done your Power cache the other day. Good stuff.

09-Aug-09
Nice One!!!!!!! Clever bit of ingenuity on this one. Must add you to the list of "watch out, don't trust 'em, and look for the unexpected" list of cachers. You are a great addition to the geocaching fraternity. No problem along the way to GZ. Well done.
Thanks
