OCW PelDroedGwin and geodog Peppa Visiting Quorn from Port Augusta today. We missed this one on the way oin to town but pulled over on the way out. A lovely resting place. Tftc
Had a little time to spare before a pickup in Quorn so a little stretch of the legs had us at GZ in no time, quick sign before visiting Jim

On our travels we stopped to grab this cache, said g’day to James D and moved on to collect the cache, such a great spot a favourite for us, thanks for placing this cache
Headed out early with iluvtrekking for a day caching around Quorn. Although chilly in the morning it’s promising to be a lovely day. Bit of a stroll but quick find at the end. Thanks for the hide.
Found with richlink as part of our 2022 South Australian Adventure.
Today we toured from PA to Quorn and Hawker and back to PA.
Thanks for adding to our adventure.

Found with Sea Reason in miserable misty light rain, but a good find nonetheless. tftc
Nice find on our “Knocking off bits of the Heysen” hike today. After a few false starts (rain which turned us back then a ? Brown ? Mulga snake just after we started out again, we had a lovely day including beautiful view of pichi richi steam train at The Willows & the Coffee Pot engine at Pichi Richi. TFTC.
After traipsing around Western Queensland for 4 1/2 weeks then having to head to Northern Territory then SA to try and get back home that way due to border closures.
After escaping from NT to SA I was spending a few days in SA before heading back to lockdown in Victoria.
Staying at Quorn for a couple of nights and after ditching the van in the caravan park it was time to try and find all of the caches around here and also the ones on the way back to Stirling North.
A lot easier to pull over with out a van.
Still making my way south and pulled in to pay my respects to Jim Finn.
The have a lovely resting spot here and it is so green around here at the moment
Thanks Bowz2 TFTC.

It's been 8 months since the last visit but there were some macropod locals around quietly watching my approach. I didn't disturb them and they didn't seem to bothered by my presence.
The surrounding area is green after the recent rains and it would be easy to be deceived about crop growth potential here just like our ancestors were.
Thanks for the stop and the stroll. Favourite point awarded for the location and the large container.

An easy find once I got there. A few too many barbed wire fences to cross, making me wonder if it's on private property.
Thanks Bowz2.
Thanks Bowz2.
While staying in Quorn, we asked about this area and learnt a lot of history of the town of Pichi Richi in it's early days, including two hotels, each having it's own brewery

This cache ticked lots of the right boxes!! Historic and spectacular location …. spot on co-ordinates ….. great container!!!!! Grabbed as I headed to Quorn with clare007!! A favourite!!
Stopped here with CPwanderer & a stroll up the incline.
Gz wasn't where I expected it to be.

Found while walking the Heysen trail today. This was not my final resting place instead it did become a great spot to rest for morning tea. TFTC
We stayed at Quorn for a few nights before heading further north. This cache was a nice easy find. TFTC
It was the final day of the Quorn Quondam Quest (QQQ) weekend event, and it was a day of some local geocaching around Quorn, geocaching to the Pichi Richi Railway Woolshed Flat Train Station CITO event, a climb with Laighside Legends to Mount Brown, and then traveling back to Adelaide in the evening.
It was an interesting backyard that housed some scenic graves. A walk up/down and over some fences to GZ, and once there, the container was easily found. I placed my GPS unit down whilst signing the log, and then went to have a better appreciation of the grave of Jim Finn. I then walked back to the car to program my next destination, when I realised I had forgotten my GPS back at the geocache. Dang, so it was an extra walk there/back to retrieve. Cheers Bowz2, a nice series to honour some of these lost graves.

Found with e.gregory1 on our way back from the Quorn June Long Weekend Event. Thanks for the cache Bowz2!
A great cache to walk across the tracks and find 'ol Jim. Love the Bowz2 caches - and the build quality is really standing up to the test of time - perhaps even better that ammo cans in wet or salty environments.
Found on the JLWE with four-fun and others- epic fun and games!!
Thanks to Bowz2 and **clear skies** from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet!

found with mogni on route to the CITO event. quick find. I do question if this one is on private property but if you got permission it doesn't matter.
Found with FeatherWaite as we headed back towards Adelaide after attending the Quorn June Long Weekend events.
Thanks Bowz2 for the cache.

Found at 3:07 PM GAFF1.
Now there was a cache that I thought was a bit into private property However if it was approved by a reviewer then I can go in - right?
It was a nice view across the valley and crossing the rail line was no problem at all
Thanks Bowz2

In town for QQQ. Found with ma77hew and Geoboy while scoping out hiding spots for our game caches. TFTC
We are in Quorn for the June Long Weekend. We are pseudo JLWE eventers as whilst we are here we are not doing the game day on Sunday. But with so many cachers around and so much going on couldn't resist making the journey up.
Camping at the Quorn Campsite so the hound doesn't upset anyone, what a lovely campsite it is too.
Had an terrific day of caching, today was about quality over quantity. It was a wonderful day to be alive, the scenery was spectacular, we loved seeing the Pichi Richi train. Quorn is a lovely place, we found the people to be so welcoming. We couldn't do as much as we wanted with the dog in tow but we still had a brilliant weekend.
Without a doubt we will be back up here sometime to head a bit deeper into the Flinders Ranges and see a bit more of the lovely scenery.
We really enjoyed heading up here and learning a little about Jim Finn. The flowers in the grave were so pretty and it was nice to get a pic of the Pichi Richi railway sign. TFTC Bowz2

With Gasamalu & Csaba! (and 45 other walkers) for company - E2E-9.
I lost count on how many barbed-wire fences I had to cross - too many.
Csaba! did the finding - we did the signing
Thanks for the cache, Bowz2

A quick detour off the main Heysen Trail to this lonely spot. Found quickly with Malco! and Gasamalu quick to arrive at GZ after all my hard searching efforts. Great size cache. Thanks.
I love caches like these... they always keep their contents in A1 Prestine condition and for that, {let alone it being hidden in God's Country}, I am offering it it's 10th Fave point
SL at 10:34 on 1 April, 2018. TFTC Bowz2. {Large Bulldogs ants did object to me being here though... their lives were quickly 'extinguished' lol}

After climbing up Devil's Peak, I wasn't keen on the 150m walk from the edge of the road where we parked but Who Dares Wins, so off I went. An easy find, thanks.
Found It!
After watching the train go past we walked up, saw the three dead guys and then headed over to the cache. A quick find and an interesting place!

Found tftc. Exploring on the way home from the Pichi Richi half marathon. Got led astray by the hint, then went back and checked the coordinates again and found it straight away.
TFTC 2nd cache that I DNF today but could not find the gate to get across the track seen the old foundations that was a house at some stage seen the sign but did not see the graves thank you
Here I had got ahead of the train so was able to see it pass the Pitchi Richi former station before crossing the line to visit Jim TFTC bowz2
Quickish stop on way back to Quorn.
Interesting place, that wouldn't be known about by so many whizzing past, by train or car..

Picking up a few of the easier caches on our way to Argadells Station today .
If not for geocaching . . .
Have to wonder how many people even notice this spot, let alone know what's here [?].
We really enjoyed the stop here, walk across the line and look around [^].
A rather unique Aussie hiding spot . TNLNSL.

Hi there Bowz2.
We found your cache **"Jim Finn"** at 11:38:00 AM today. (This makes our find count 15901).
We cached between Quorn and Stirling North today. On our trek we found a wide variety of container types. & ended up finding 9 caches with 0 DNF's.
Thanks for placing this cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache exactly where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** A Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

Spending a week driving around the Flinders, in and out of rain storms, dodging creek crossings, finding some caches where possible or safe to pull up with the geovan.
We explored the area back in 2008 , and again in 2012 - all pre geocaching era, finally now it is 2016 and we are official geocachers.
Eventually, after a bit of a trek cross grassy fields, a railway line and some fences, this was an easy find, will be back in a few days to do the Pichi Richi Rail and finish the Quorn caches. thanks bowz2.

5480 Found by baby&Mrs gopher on our drive around South Australia with Nodalot today at 1140. Pulled up beside the road and went for a stroll across the tracks. Didn't expect to find this lonely resting place for Jim Finn. Found the large size container and SL Tnx Bowz2
I was enjoying the drive south through the pass this morning
This cache caught me eye and I hopped out of the geomobile to see what I would find at GZ.
Up and over the rails and through the fence ...
... and there was a surprising sight !! [:o]
Jim Finn is still in residence here and sure doesn't get many visitors !!
Over a year since the last geocacher paid their respects
At least Jim has some company here, but we don't know their names [:o]

It was hard at first, then when we got a whole group looking for it, it made it much easier!
Day thirteen of my holidays, and a day of caching rather than travelling. Today I headed into the Flinders Ranges a little bit - I've been here before and loved the area. After finding my chosen ones, I picked a few in a different direction before heading back to Port Augusta. Found this one without any trouble once at GZ.
My thanks to Bowz2 for the cache.

We said hi to Jim Finn and his friend (who was he? - must google him). Nice walk, great scenery and Geowife just Informed me that he was a blacksmith and gave me the history of Jim and his friends. Left our Pathtag for the next visitor to Jim. TFTC Bowz2

Got half way up to this cache and realised that there was a little cemetery here. I was intrigued that there were not any signs indicating this little important place. Also that there were no names on the graves. Are there any relatives still about????? I later on found the cache, a good sized one in quite a different hide. TFTH
Great cache, great container, great location - ticks all the boxes. Thanks Bowz2. We stayed at the Devils Peak B&B (thoroughly recommended) so this was just across the road. Very much enjoyed our weekend exploring this beautiful area.
After completing our 2nd trip around Australia, we are now heading towards Alice Springs.
Camped at Port Augusta, and drove to Quorn, picking up the caches there and on the way back.
A huge container, and we were disappointed that we left our swaps in the car.
Many thanks for the hunt today, Bowz2.

Day 1 of Flinder's Ranges visit with mogni and Aussie M&M.
Walked in from our B&B to visit the old ruins of Pichi Richi and tekked across the road and railway to have morning tea with Jim Boy. Found the cache too. Thanks Bowz2

Found today with GrimRaider on our SA caching road trip. This is so different from the areas we have been caching for the last couple of days up at Coober Pedy - nice to see some trees and vegetation again. This was a fun cache to do and had us stretching our legs - loved the clue and the hide. Dropped of a TB. TFTC
Had me stumped for a little, as it didn't make sense. Then it all became clear.

great find. A short walk. I have lived in the area over 50 years and passed here numerous times but never knew about these graves. It's a pity there isn't a sign on the road so visitors knew it was there. I liked the cache hiding spot. Something different TFTH
great spot for a cache. Passed here lots of times and never knew the graves were here. It's a pity they haven't got name plaques. TFTC
