Logs
There was an event in Nelson today to promote the potential Mega event down south later this year. I managed to convince the rest of the family to let me buzz buzz buzz over the hill. This was the third stop (second successful one) on the way. I initially looked at the wrong marble before spotting the container a little bit away near a larger piece.
We were passing by and pulled up at the nearby parking lot to go for the short walk in.
But that was overrun by some protestors who had decided to line the street with placards. That reminds me, maybe I should get my booster shot today? We moved on, did some shopping, I got my jab (thanks for the heads up!) and on the way back out, we had the place to ourselves.
Found the container quick enough due to the detailed hint. Still, they throw so bark in here periodically, so it may have been gone. As expected with this container, the log was grey mush. I have signed our name on the only paper I had on me that I could find in my wallet. It’s not RITR, so may not last long. TFTC beltfamily.
I knew finding archived caches has been a bit of a thing with some geocachers, but it’s generally not been something I had been too worried about. After all, there are plenty enough on my map that are not archived that need finding!
But I had saved a bit of a list and out of curiosity I checked it. I was surprised to see a few close by, (more than active ones actually), and since we didn’t have a proper caching trip planned we decided to search for 6 of these today.
There were some DNFs (3 in fact, so just 50% success today), but I guess there is always a good chance of that. It was still good fun, and it’s good to confirm the ones we found are still out there for those interested in searching for them.
All caches replaced as found.

He's decided to target some archived caches & I just came along for the ride & entertainment lol
Had to try a couple of times to find thos as it was a popular spot today with the supporters of the Freedom Convoy.
RNZ was determined to find it & he did ??

Ever since a chance meeting with a geocacher from Blenheim, our fascination with trying to find archived caches continues, we were visiting our grandchildren who live fairly close to here, and we thought we would wander along and see if there is any chance this one is still there. Sure enough GK had it in his hot little hand with in a few seconds. Absolutely love it when that happens, especially one that had been sitting there for a really long time since it was last found.
The log was a wee bit fragile, but still very useable.
Thank you for placing this cache.

Another cache where I was thinking too hard! Didn't quite identify the object in the hint, but then it made sense when I had the cache in hand. TFTC!
We were on a 2 day caching raid in the Nelson area. This cache was right across the road from where we were staying for the night. It was starting to get dark but this helped us from being seen by the passing trafic. TFTC
easy find, we enjoy the caches that are right under muggle's noses!! we also think this spot would be good for a bigger container to fit trinkets in
I think I saw the block that this is a chip off when in a different part of the Nelson district yesterday.
A bit of a stone here. Took longer than it should nave to find, but success in the end. Thanks
Just across the road from where we are staying. Interesting and informative Heritage Trail. TFTC
Nice "stop over" before filling up gas to drive off to next of my stations (Abel Tasman NP).

A very interesting pathway with lots of local history. Thanks for sharing this spot with us. TFTC.
We thought this would be a quick walk by and grab but after searching for a few minutes we came up with nothing. To good for us today.
Reading several of the plaques in the Richmond Heritage trail provided good cover while we waited for a muggle-free chance to look for the cache. A good hint made for a quick find when we did get the chance - just what is needed in such a busy spot. Thanks.

Last grab of a wet lunchtime... Nice to mop up some of the Richmond simples. TFTC
Lifted the old block to retrieve the cache. Isn't that what teenage sons are for. Ha Ha TFTC
OK... so we had to use the hint, but it was the first cache of our last full day in Nelson, so maybe we are now taking a while to rev up in the mornings.
Thanks for bringing me to this interesting wee heritage trail.

#1768 (1/19 on day 8 in Nelson). Busy road to cross, andan interesting wee trail. TFTC.
Sometimes Lucky Penny and I found it while enjoying a rest day on our 3 week tour of New Zealand. It was just down the road from our motel so we couldn't resist. But why would anyone resist going after a geocache?
New Log needed, this one is full up - another cacher and I have both had to write next to the cache note.
Got this one on 30 October 2010 at 13:28:00, co=ords weren't great, but the name gave it away so I didn't have to do too much hunting around.

Log book is running out of room next person recommend bringing some paper easy find.
Our first of 15 finds today and another one we have been meaning to do for ages.TFTC
no trouble finding it but very wet once opened. Have dried it out, and sealed it in a ziplock bag inside existing cache container.
Great hiding spot. Might pay to put a new piece of paper in the cache we could not sign because it was to damp TFTC
Nice little spot, watch for cars driving towards you. Great piece of history. Log still damp could possibly be replaced.
1345hrs TFTC The Italian Job was here......! Our blog www.motorhominginxs.blogspot.com
Nice little "park" close to the highway. We were glad about the hint as it was raining cats and dogs.

3158. We found the cache quickly. We were not too sure about the bag of shopping sitting at the site - was someone coming back for it?
Thanks

I had planned to nab this cache when I was here in September but unfortunately it was disabled at the time. Great to get it this trip. SL TFTC
A nice wee spot for a cache and so close to lots of busy muggles. TFTC. Cheers Bo
Catching up with logs for caches I found with Sidewaze before I got my own account. TFTC
Been past many times in my years in Nelson but the first time I've actually read the info on the posts. A quick find thanks.
It was nice to have a breather and an excuse to explore this area a bit.
