This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit and after my previous reviewer note, there has been no owner response. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. It would seem this one has been muggled. Searched for a while. Found the place where I think it should be but nothing. Thanks anyway

We thought we had found this in the first place we looked but it was only where the church hides it's key. We then spent another 10 minutes looking as per the hint without luck. We tried reading previous logs for a hint and after refreshing the cache page and seeing a previous DNF, we gave up. As there is a better chance of compromising the location of the hidden key rather than finding the cache, I think this one should be archived and will recommend this happens.

This geocacher reported that this geocache should be archived. A community volunteer reviewer has been notified.

Spent a time looking but no luck for me today.

Took a while, re read the hint and tried once more and found it.

#10171. Day 6 of the South Island road trip around the top of the South Island (Canterbury and Westland) with Infoferret. This trip was planned to replace the Labour weekend Auckland Mega adventure. We have stayed overnight in Murchison and today are heading to Christchurch. The weather has improved in the morning and by time we reached Canterbury it was like a hot summers day. But before we head south we have an adventure lab to do and few local caches.

We decided to pick this one up before we head south. Parked close by and wandered over to the church. All quiet here on a Monday morning. I completely misread the hint so looked in a few wrong spots. When it finally clicked I called over IF to help as she has hands the right size for this type of hide. Soon had the cache in hand. Signed the logbook and replaced where found. Thanks bumandworker for hiding it here.

Found in the company of GSEL as part of our South Island trip. A quick dash around Murchison before heading over the Lewis Pass. Took a bit of spotting as we both misinterpreted the hint. GSEL cottoned on first, but I could reach and replace it. TFTC.

On a trip with Ruru_NZ to gather the tour caches needed or in my case not done yet. Should be able to knock them off on this trip.

Found the key first then the cache. Think this is either second or third key find while caching.

Found in the rain.

Day 14 of three weeks winter motorhoming in the upper half of the South Island. In Murchison today. Wet all day but still managed to pick up six caches in addition to completing the Murchison Meander Adventure Lab early on. This one was just along the road from where we were staying. Took a few minutes to locate. Had to feel for it - too low to see! #4167. TFTC.

This cache is still going strong. It was located a little away from the hint so we returned it to its proper place and hope it will now continue to be found. TFTC.

Beautiful location for a church. We also found the building keys first! The GPS is a little off, but once you work out what ‘pile’ means in this context you’ll get there - no need to scramble into the bushes near the fence. TFTC

Found with my wife on our End of year/New Year holiday.

We biked to this one after tea. JDScout and I are on a campervan holiday from Christchurch to Collingwood to Havelock and back home to Christchurch. Geocaching is on my agenda. We both like biking and walking too. Thanks bumandworker for placing this geocache it is find 8082 for me.

Sadly there was no large event in New Zealand in 2019 but there are a few Mega events planned in Australia. New Zealand will have another large event in 2020 in Auckland.

That’s a very short 3m
(see hint). Or maybe it’s been moved? (Left it where we found it.). Visited cache after several days of rain so the river was high, running fast and chocolate brown.

Checked out several possibilities before successfully retrieving the cache. I also found the key and left well alone. TFTC

Found on way from ChCh to Nelson. Had place to self. Took a couple of mins to locate. Then as it was a hot day went to the shops for an icecream and the power was off in town! Fortunately had some cash! TFTC

Overnight in Murch on our way to Old Ghost Trail. An hour to kill after the Mighty Mako won the 2019 Mitre 10 cup and before the AB's take on England in the Rugby World Cup. Tftc

Having a day in Murchison prior to doing a short tramp into the Old Ghost Road. We decided to do this cache prior to watching the AB's take on England, so something positive came out of it. A quick find. TFTC bumandworker.

Great spot in a sleepy town

(# 5450). Today is day 9 of my West Coast trip. Today I am traveling from Westport to St Arnaud. Main goal was the Brunner Peninsula Walk. A quick find. Everything in order. TFTC

Our first find for the day amazing views cacher is probably 1.5 meters away now may gave gotten moved a little. Church gas a great location that's for sure. Thank you for placing icing a cache here or we would of missed out on these great views. Tftc

Nice location, in the evening more sandflies than muggles. GPS wasn’t accurate and 3 meters is a bit off as well (search closer to the air vent...).

Nine days to do some caching for the price of four leave days - who could complain about that! I found a quirky place to stay near Motueka, ad decided to base myself there to cache in the wider area. I had a few on my hit list, and ended up finding a great variety of different caches on the trip.
Day one, and trying to get to Motueka, which for others of course does not take too long, but I did want to stop here and there. The specific hint was very useful here as the gps kept changing its mind... TFTC!!

Got cha! We visited Murchison 7 years and this was one of two we tried to find then and couldn't, went back with a little more experience and time and found it. TFTC, and a favourite for our finding it after so long!

17.50: On the way from Picton to our motel in Murchison and we are almost there yet! Our first cache on the South Island at this journey and our second attempt here after six years. We searched here in 2010 already and as seen from today we must have had "tomatoes on the eyes" then. Today we found the jar without any problems. Lovely little church, but when approaching the area it's difficult to tell whether the little house has inhabitants or not[?][8)]

Weather: overcast, rain, 13°C;
Wheelchair: no problem at all, could be helpful;
State: all good.

IN & OUT: nothing.

Interesting real estate for a church! Yes, rather be fishing. Found cache and also discovered it is possible to walk down riverside to the 3 more caches along the Matakitaki. Interesting that this cache is in a glass jar and it seems to be very dry, in really good state in a wet environment...tftc
