Appears to have disappeared with erosion. Bye bye.

Erosion took the cache. GZ is fenced off now.Needs archiving.

Really wanted to find this cache as we took a spontaneous detour. GZ indicated the opposite side of the road from the river, but previous logs indicate riverside. Saw lots of blackberry, and as I am wearing flip flops it was not practical to retrieve. Thanks for placing anyway. A nice little side detour

Think the tree and cache have long since fallen into the river... given the erosion on the bank.

Headed out today to target a cache we needed to complete a challenge. As it was in an area we hadn't cleared out we decided to do a loop around to pick up a couple of DNFs that were now active and any other caches we came across.

Checked out the parking for this one on the way up the road and decided we could squeeze the car off the road enough to leave plenty of room for passing traffic - all of one vehicle for the whole time we were there. Started hunting around and although we did check the eventual GZ early on, we didn't spot the cache. The GPS was a bit jumpy and we were concentrating more on what logs had to say about finding the cache in the brambles than checking the cache page properly. Eventually, the hint was checked and we (Andy) went back to a place previously checked. A lot of digging (it's been a long time since the last find) and the telltale sound of a container is heard. A bit more digging and cache is in hand. The triple bagging of the log has worked and log is still usable. Log signed, cache replaced as found and camo placed on top. tftc

Parked near the main road con explored the valley on my bike. Failure to find this was probably my fault, but I will blame my tools. My GPS pointed me to a stretch of road that had no accessible features for 50 metres in either direction. Still a long way to cycle tw the top of the valley, so I did not spend too much time on it

Arrived at GZ but initially couldn't find the cache in the expected spot. Then I spotted it part way down the bank suspended in the brambles! Attempts to retrieve it were also unsuccessful - just made it fall further. Ended up going below and climbing up to get it. Phew. Logbook was very wet (the container had been upside down in the brambles) but did manage to sign it. Dried it out a bit but it could do with more. Replaced it firmly in the spot where I think it should have been. There must have been a lot of rain in the last few days - the road approaching the cache had obviously been under water. TFTC and the scenic detour.

It was a last minute decision to detour to find this cache on the way back from Murchison. Care is needed at GZ with quite dense blackberry and a drop off each side of the placement. Cache was full of water and log book soaked but we managed to leave a signature of sorts. TFTC.

Last one before heading home after a good caching day around Murchison. At GZ we needed to pay attention since underneath the blackberry vines there was only abyss. The cache was spotted from a position it couldn't be retrieved from but with a bit of teamwork it was all good. The container was full to the brim and log was sodden. Somehow our pen worked regardless. We've never been here and will investigate further. TFTC

Nice hide. Glad we could nail to find on the way to Mt. Owen. TFTC

nice drive up the valley, surprising the amount of traffic and cows and sheep on the road today

23-Sep-12
Nice views up the valley today

Hmmm. Just enough intrigue to rouse the curiosity. Who was Borenstein, and what was he looking out for??? A very picturesque valley. So pleased there was a cache up here so that we ventured this way. The snow on the mountains and the afternoon sunlight created magical vistas. Thanks for bringing us here. Smile

What a spectacular drive to GZ. Even though the day started out very cold, it was forgotten when we got into this valley and had the vista of the snow on the mountains and the play of light on the hills. Thanks for bringing us here! and TFTC

It just happens that I know who Borenstein is. He lives on this road and this is one of his favourite fishing spots so another local put up this sign in his honour. Its a pretty good story really. TFTC #2073

We started on the West road until I convinced Ms M that it might be a good idea to have a read of the cache description.
This has started a kernel of a thought that we may start the U-Turn caching series.
Great views past the cache. A real treat.

This one has been on the unfound list for awhile. Just short of the cache the road was blocked by a large truck and digger; good grief never a dull moment when Mr KE goes caching. Surely I'm not going to have to flag it this close? As luck would have it they were just packing up after clearing a fallen tree branch from the road. After I backed up a bit there was just enough room for them to squeeze by me and soon the intriguing drive-by was completed. Thanks.

This place has to be someone's private joke as the view, well, wasn't all that awe inspiring. A bit of snow around the place and just up the road at the bridge a lot more snow! Brrrr! TNLN Thanks.

Drove past GZ looking for a place to safeyl turn round and was surprised at how the valley opens out just a little further along the road. As lookouts go this is a little underwhelming... must be a private joke for someone. TFTC, Biggles

What a bizzare 'lookout' location. You could have ones like it every 5m apart. Drove in and had muggles right at the spot, wondered if they were up to the same thing. Drove a few KM up the road, turned around and found the site clear. No logs in the book, so guess they were admiring the view. TFTC.

A glorious day to go a caching in this area. A bonus was the blackberries they were very tasty. Nice view from the location. TFTC

Valley very nice a few minutes further on from the cache - should look a picture with snow on the hills. Poor Jr B dropped a score here as he was simply unable to reach the cache! (DOH!). Still, he won at the end of the day - that's all that counts. Still completely lost as to why there is a sign here. And what on earth am I supposed to look at? Perhaps too much intermarriage in this valley Wink

Nice drive up the valley. Left compass ring and TB for Diabetes. Cool

Plenty of time on my hands today so took the drive in, a lovely valley especially where it opens up just beyond the cache itself.

Found after dark but used torches to spotlight the view.

FTF. We had planned to drive down to do other caches so three new ones were an extra attraction. Cold morning outside - snow on the mountains, fog in the hills. Nice drive up the valley to GZ. TFTC
