While attending the Red Centre Experience event, we have been taking the opportunity to get out and about exploring the area around Alice Springs. Today, we visited a number of interesting places, including this archived cache which was still definitely there at the alternative co-ordinates listed in a previous log.
We located this cache easily enough and with our name added to the log book, we continued on our way.
Thank you NTSTROM for having placed the cache and for maintaining it for everyone to enjoy

It troubles me that after I visited the cache it was disabled. When I spent my time in the centre I noticed the cache outside my hotel appeared to be in the construction site so I took it upon myself to read the logs and found an alternative set of coordinates contained therein. After walking the wrong way (should have gone past the convention centre) I found the cache in a most obvious location.
Now I have added the coordinates again for those who want to find this little guy and that would be the one of the two issue I have with this cache,
1. for its temporary location it is miniscule, a eclipse tin would be easily hidden there.
2. the log in such a small cache is designer made and full, so it needs replacement by a generous cacher with a micro cache log.
As always, if it looks difficult, dangerous or illegal then READ THE LOGS.
Please enable this cache for the enjoyment of others.
Happy caching Terrortorian.

Yes, indeed, it is a construction and no sign of the fabled windmill. I downloaded the coords. the day before this cache was disabled. Never mind, i found a couple of others nearby.
I went to the area and unfortunately it took me to a construction site, as Lasseters started renovations this week.
The cache appears to be in need of owner intervention. I'm temporarily disabling it, to give the owner an opportunity to check on the cache, and take whatever action is necessary. Please respond to this situation in a timely manner (i.e., within 30 days) to prevent the cache from being archived for non-responsiveness. If you require more time please be sure to post a note (not an email) explaining the situation and how much more time you require.
Wirh the updated coords it was a long walk the wrong way round. Quick find and then i finished the lap back to rhe oasis of the pool in lasseters.
Cache is in the middle of a construction zone, there are not too many ducks around there any more!?!
Cache is in a "no go zone " , so in order to not upset anyone the hunt was called off . but did eye off that back deck with the view though - thanks NTSTROM
Found fairly easily after corrected co-ords entered, although we had a pretty good idea where to look when we couldn't get into the original GZ area. The log is full - managed to squeeze a scrawl onto the paper, but the log in this one needs replacing.
Sixth cache on our bike ride through Alice Springs. This once
did cause most trouble as we first did not read the logs and so
went for the location with the old coordinates. There is a gate
left of the construction site through which we entered near the
waterhole. Near the old cache location we were stopped by an
angry and unpleasant person who asked us what we were doing here
and he immediately called in a security person. We walked back
straight away to avoid trouble and then read the logs, saw the
new location and found the cache within a few minutes. TFTC. This
was our #700; not the nicest but certainly one to remember!

Just had the iPhone so couldn't go to the new coords. Probably only chance for a cache this time.
Hope to come back

Found at 11.00am GAFF2. We were also confronted by the construction site and it took some time to work out how to get to the new cache site. Did a bit of climbing, but it was not really necessary.
This place is expanding so it seems that tourism is still profitable.
Thanks JWstorming.

Sincere appreciation to JWstormings for the suggested alternative coordinates. These resulted in a very quick find. The cache was certainly not at the published coordinates - these need to be updated immediately. TFTC NTSTROM
Not a good one on a windy day. Walked in the back way, the dust was flying and then there was the bull dust on the track as well. Thanks to the previous finders for the info. on the relocation.
Now this one was a pain. First off...the site is now a working area with a fence...so no go. Take the dirt track behind the Convention Centre and you can drive to within 10 metres.Next it is a Nano not a Micro. Then it was up high not low as hint suggested.Owner needs to put new co-ordinates in ASAP as people will be walking around in circles. Thanks Bundy for your log and co.ords. Silky Seekers brisbane.
Find number 12 for the day, and find number 102 on the eleventh day of our month long trip to Warwick, Lightning Ridge, Boulia, Plenty Highway, Alice Springs, Ayres Rock, Darwin, and home. Found at 1710hrs Qld time.
JWstormings coordinates are spot on. Found easily. You just have to take a detour. But, can the cache owner please update the coordinates.
Cheers

There was construction trailers that appeared to be almost on top of the cache. Couldn't find it.
Lassiters Windmill cache is now at S 23 deg 43.106 E 133deg 52.788.
Was on structure about to be demolished. Is about 100m from original position, but now out of the construction site. Have notified owner who can decide caches future.

Hmm. Didn't seem to be where it should be. We did manage to get through the gate though. Thanks anyway.
I rocked up to try for this one, but the area is fenced off and there are workmens huts near where I presumed the cache was. It would be worthwhile if the owner could check it out with a view to disabling it for the moment.
Cache is now not accessible. GZ is fenced off, as area is now a construction site.
Weren't expecting a windmill after reading the previous logs, and so to not see a windmill was not a surprise.
The container needed a little persuasion to open ... probably a grain of sand. It seems OK now.

1st LPC found in Australia. Cap was corroded and unable to be opened. So a little maintenance is needed. TFTC
Like everyone else, I was rather puzzled about the windmill. My new maps still think it's there too.
Lovely find, just challenging enough. TFTC.

Got lucky when I glimpsed the cache otherwise I would still be looking for the windmill. A swan came up to the fence as I was logging a note to see what I was doing. Suggestion: Bring a slice of bread. [ ]
Had to come back to this one as the windmill bit tricked us. Not sure when it disappeared but was harder to find than the actual cache.
After finding the cache surprisingly fast, I ended up spending quite a lot of time at GZ spotting and photographing some local birds that the nearby pond obviously attracts. Thanks NTSTROM for the cache, it was only upon leaving GZ that i actually spotted the foundation/remnants of the windmill? Regards, 38degsouth -Melb, Vic.
What windmill? Just about to give up (searching the wrong structure) when oldest cache kid came up with the goods. TFTF
Nice easy find with geograndson. A storm came as we were out but managed to make it back to where we were staying before it hit. Thanks
After our arrive in Alice Springs, we found this Cache in the near of our hotel.

with the last need maint log, I went to change out paper log. There are at least 10 spots left on the scroll....replaced anyway.
As promised - I'm adding a maintenance log due to the log paper being filled. I didn't have anything with me to replace it - sorry!
Nice easy find on my way into town for dinner. BTW, I signed the last spot on the log, so I'll log a maintenance request after this. TFTC!
Who took the windmill ? Was there last time I visited - did some work around this site. The geese weren't on eggs this trip. so cache was found without being squarked at by motherly waterfowl. TFTC.
Came all the way from Germany to find this tiny little one. Thank you for the cache, jenny_pet & greenvieh.

Well the windmill is no longer there, but the cache certainly is still there.
Found at 10:00 10/10/10 some thing unique?
I will try and get the other one nearby in 10 minutes.

Thought it was too small to write on, so left it intact, but did enjoy some shade.
You would not believe it, we booked into the casino, then dropped off our camper trailer in the car park and headed out to grab some caches. We had not searched any until we were on the road, only to come back to the casino to find we could not have parked the camper any closer if we had tried SL TFTC
Found on a cool evening. Plenty of potential muggles heading off for tea, so I just had to wait them out before honing in on GZ. Thanks for the hide.
Dinner at Lasseters gave me the perfect opportunity to grab this one on the way in at 6:45pm. Took ages to get the log out of the container, but once in hand it was all easy.

Our second nano like this for the day, and another one that we didn't have trouble finding, which is great when we're travelling. As Trev logged our find, Caz took photos of the noisy geese for a postcard for the grandkids. Thanks.
Found this little nano at night even though distracted by the Geese. TNLNSL TFTF

This cache is now back and ready to be found. Many thanks to Darren (redcenterdazza) for maintaining and replacing the cache
Steve, I would temp disable this one. got my stash of nano logs and nano containers and went out to put this one back. The windmill is gone.
I can replace very near, but will take a day or two. Will post new coords as soon as I get them.

As seen many DNFs we still went and looked for it everywhere for about 20 minutes, yes it is gone for sure so please somebody go and check it. Thanks.
Had a look all over the windmill and couldn't find a cache.
Cheers from the Posspet Boys.

I thought I looked all over, but I wasn't able to find it. I found lots of cool birds nearby, though.

After locating our hotel, it was off to check out the locals, well we found a bunch of noisy quackers, they were attempting to guard the cache, but not well enough as we found it, signed the log them went on a little tour of the Casion. Was a very short tour, we found smoking is still allowed so we made a hasty retreat, to find some more caches.

An easy NTSTROM find this one. Said hello to the hungry geese before mounting a search for the next cache. TFTC
The GF loved watching me find this cache!!
Natural instincts told me where to look, but possibly because I'd been dropped on my head as a youngster, I decided to trust my GPS - big mistake LOL
Managed to scramble over the fence without dying, before going crazy looking high and low. After a while of looking I decided to read previous logs - one of which mentioned not needing to climb the fence. This is where the fun started!
Trying to get back over the fence was quite a mission. The natural curve of the fencing made getting back over damn near impossible HAHA. I seriously don't know how I didn't stack it.
If only she'd had a camera to catch the hilarity. I felt like quite the numpty after her numerous taunts!
In the end, I decided to trust my instincts. Damn it!

Had to time pick up and return to a tea, as there was a busy worker sweeping up the leaves nearby. TFTC
Thanks for placing a cache in a tourist area. We are visiting from Chicago, USA and always have a good time caching throughout our travels. We were staying just a short walk from the cache. Enjoyed the Mighty Todd River and the friendly people. Thanks for the cache.
Got this one in as we (muggle Penny) wanted to visit the casino to see the art work of Peter Taylor, which is exhibited in the front foyer. Lots of geese came up to the fence - I think they thought that we were going to feed them! Nobody around, so this one was easy.
