On the way to the ACT middle distance orienteering champs at Wee Jasper. I left early enough to attempt to clear out the caches at Micalong. I looked here for a couple of minutes without spotting anything. Thinking of the time, I decided to resume my search after finding Gorge Us Micalong, However, after failing to find it after half an hour I didn't have much time left to have a good search here on my return. It didn't help that I hadn't downloaded the cache before I got out of range, so had no hint, no decsription and no logs to refer too. I'll be back.

Being all a bit cool and overcast, it seemed a perfect day to drive out to Wee Jasper and hang about by some rivers and creeks (and perhaps above them).
I looked around here for a little while, carefully treading around slippery rocks at the edge of the creek and negotiating my way between blackberries and other thorny bushes. After quite a few minutes of scratches and frustration I realised that I had come here to enjoy a walk beside the creek and looking for this cache was interfering with my enjoyment. So I gave up.

Searched here 4 separate times over the weekend, there wasnt a stone i didnt turn.
No luck here this weekend
No luck here this weekend
Looked for 15 minutes or so but no luck. Going off other logs, recent heavy rain may have washed it away. Lots of potential hiding spots under rocks etc nearby - a hint would be helpful. - Adam and Kahlia
Found this one in Feb 2017 didn't have the app at the time just stumbled across it accidentally we left an item it's an amazing private spot.
Found this lovely cache together with Dino and Flintstone's. Thank you Polliwogs for putting it out and maintaining it.
A morning walk after we stayed the night at the campground. Together with Dino, Pebbles, Wilma and Hoppy as well as ex muggles Rockhead and Forestbugs we did the steep climb for the nearby cache and went for a nice swim afterwards. Then on the way back to the camp a quick find along the way. Thanks for the Cache Polliwogs.
Dropped the missus off as she is a Scout Leader and was camping nearby with her troop and headed over here for a quick detour. Lovely little gorge. TFTC,
Time to do a few caches in the Wee Jasper area while waiting for trail walkers to return to the Fitzpatrick trailhead. Loved the area and the pristine waters and landscape!

Plans were made to head out on Saturday to do a spot of caching but the weather wasn't the best so Saturday turned into Sunday for us as the weather was beautiful today. RW was in need of some Earth caches to log a challenge cache she had signed while we were away awhile ago. So a drive was in order to collect two of them for her and off to Wee Jasper we went. Lovely day out and about.
This one took a little longer to find but cache was soon in hand and a happy dance was performed.
Thanks for the cache Polliwogs and thanks for the company RW.

With the horrid weather yesterday, caching didn't happen so plans were made to get out and about today as both myself and FFLL had itchy feet. We decided a drive out to Wee Jasper was in order and mother nature put on her best for us It was an amazing day out in the country, HEAPS of photos taken, lots of laughter and chatter. A brilliant day of caching with no DNF's to boot
Time for a wander along the bubbling river towards this one. The weather is amazing and we are having the best time out caching today after itchy feet yesterday. Took a little while to locate this one as the GPSr was bouncing all over the place, and the DNF logged prior to us was a little concerning. However after about 8 minutes of looking the cache was spotted, signed and replaced.
Thanks heaps for the company today FFLL and thanks for the cache Polliwogs [^]

I attempted this on the way to the "Micalong Cascade" cache but came up empty, figured a walk would reset my thinking. So with a win under my belt I tried again on the way back, but still no luck. There are plenty of obvious places to look, more than I had the time to do so. Given the 3m or so margin of error from the GPS there was a lot of ground to cover, but not this time.
I'll be back the next time were camping out here (hopefully soon).

Found 13:31 11/3/17 on our way back to camp after a swim. Thank you polliwogs for the cache.
A quick find on a trip from our campsite to Micalong.
Enjoyed a swim in the cascades.
Thanks for a great location for a cache.

Took a while to find this one. The gps gods were having a good old jump on the trampoline in this narrow little valley. Found eventually. Cache and log very wet. Suspect they were inundated in recent rains.
But what a pretty little valley. I'd love to come back and explore some more.
Thanks for the find.

Spent the weekend at wee jasper, crawling and abseiling underground in Punchbowl and the Dip caves. After finishing up early and packing up camp, I detoured to find some caches.
After the recent rains a small patch of road had become soft and cars losing grip had dug some deep holes in the mid which had caused some issues with drivers getting stuck. I was one of them!
Luckily some young guys leaving the campground offered to help. (Their second to help today). Unfortunately their 4WD too became stuck trying to help. Eventually we got theirs away, and just as we were looking for a safer spot to tow mine out by, the Wee jasper reserves worker came by with a winch. Very slowly my car came out of the bog. His 6th car he pulled out this weekend.
So after all that fun I parked my car on the safe side of the mud and walked the rest of the way down for the bunch of caches in the valley.
The river level was high, and I was surprised this cache was still in place. Though the log was very wet inside.
Thanks for the cache.

Found with Kittykatch and Grimraider Sunday 23rd after visiting Careys Caves. Beautiful spot and so much water in the creek. Cannot believe how green the countryside and and how much water there is around. TFTC
Found with Joolay and GrimRaider on a day trip out to Wee Jasper. It was such a beautiful drive - the valleys are so green and the creeks and rivers running fast. Found by Joolay - all in good condition. TFTC
Camped here overnight and went for a walk up here in the dark without realising the caches were here. In the morning we returned to see it in daylight and picked up this cache. It's only about 4-5m off track contrary to the description which would put it on the other side of the rapidly flowing creek. Signed and replaced.
Thanks!
Thanks!
From the junction track we headed towards the swimming holes. Again, plenty of people around but we managed to time our search and located the cache before the next group came past. Another beautiful spot. Thanks polliwogs
#872 After parking at the end of the loop, having spent the night at a nearby ground, this cache was found. Thanks again polliwogs.
A lovely walk along the creek with geokid and two of his friends. After introducing the kids to caching, they all seemed pretty keen to make the find. I think geokid showed his experience though and made the find on this one too. SL, then on up the river to look at the waterfall. TFTC!
Despite the cold and (previously) wet weather we were determined to come out and camp for a few days during my week off.
I dragged the four kids and wife out after stocking up the camper trailer and thought we'd do some caching as well.
As we decided to camp at the very nice Micalong Creek it was great to find some nearby caches. After a drive for the day we stepped off for a quick walk and found this one amongst others before heading back to camp to get the fire started and cook dinner.

A magical spot but no GPS magic for us today,
We looked going up the walk and again coming back down.
Too well hidden for this team
Thanks for showing us the area.

Even with seven sets of eyes and two devices we just couldn't find this one! Must be very well hidden!
Magic - yes it certainly was. A super hot day and after the last few days of being on ropes and in the heat the concept of a nice wander down by the creek in the cool with a swimming hole sounded perfect. Made a few quick finds whilst I was here with some muggle friends who considered that my caching predelication was mildly eccentric but mostly harmless.
I had not been geocaching for a while, and when for a walk with my geo-toddler and saw a good spot for a cache hide, on looking closer I found a cache!. This may be the prod to get me back in the game.
Had been here before, and last night we tried this one and came up with a dnf. I was back in the area this morning and thought ok try for it again. Got to gz and some how I found it straight away. Always the way hey TFTC
FOUND THIS ONE AFTER A LONG WHILE, THE GPS WAS SENDING US 6 METERS INTO THE CREEK, I NEAR HAD MY BOOTS OFF WHEN WE SAW IT, LUCKY AS THE WATER IS SO COLD MY DOGS "SOCKS" AND "ROSE" WENT IN ONLY TO THERE PAWS THEN SHOT BACK OUT. THANKS FOR THE FUN.
Awesome spot! After a number of DNF's we weren't feeling too confident, especially with the water so high. Naw92 pulled us through. Found with Roklicker, naw92, danfrom and Rhihusable.
There is only so many rocks you can turn over. We found a babies dummy in a hollow tree!!!!
No luck for us finding this either. Rummaged in the bushes looking for a while but decided to go to the next one along the creek
No luck today. GPSr was pointing me across the other side of the creek and I ran out of time. Nothing in any of the "obvious" hides that I could discern in fading light

Nup!! Nothing found today [:o]
There was a realy obvious place to hide a cache to keep it safe from floods,
but alas after three looks, nothing found
The creekside location is magic though [^]

Spent New Year in the camping ground again so it was another chance to add a few more smileys in the area. Thank you polliwogs.
Had us looking for a while but turned up somewhere we'd already looked after a bit! Fund with Mosaic1212, Bruces Run and Sammy
We probably didn't search hard enough because we tried to hide from so many muggles - but we didn't find it. Will come back.
found it just as i was about to give up after searching for 15mins, but all in good condition. TNLN, TFTC
Searched high and low for this one but to no avail.

Spotted this one almost by accident. Cache was in good condition which seemed a bit surprising considering its proximity to the creek. TFTC
3546th total find at 15:53
We met the cache owner at a nearby cache and, during the conversation, discovered this cache was most probably washed away after the recent rains.
We had a small container in the car, so promptly offered to replace the cache.
(Our coordinates for the new container are: S35 11.423 E148 41.037)
Took: Nothing
Left: New Cache container
Thanks polliwogs for the cache

I could not believe this one is still here and not down stream. Certainly a great place to visit.

Thought we might be submitting our first DNF with this one - water level has been up and lots of debris lying around, but we found it in the end! Beaut spot, TFTC!
found it on second walk, did not think it would be so close to the water on the first visit an hour prior, thanx good cache !
I went to a motorcycle rally near Wee Jasper this weekend, and picked this up during my travels. tftc, tnln.

Didn't find it. Bit disapointed.
Stayed for an extended long weekend and had several attempts at looking, but nothing. Co-ords on my GPS said about 10mtrs off the track which put it very close to the creek edge. Maybe it got washed away seeing the creek level was up.

Beautiful spot, need to get here and camp instead of talking about it. TNLN - TFTC
Found on our walk along the beautiful creek. At first we thought it must be located on the other side - but no. Thanks for bringing us here. TNLN
We initially walked past this one to go exploring further up this rushing creek. After a lot of fun climbing we headed back as the sun was setting and searched for this cache. We were surprised how close this one was to the creek but it was still snug and dry in it's hiding spot .TFTC
Happy Easter! Went for a lovely walk along Micalong Creek today up to the waterfalls, passing many happy chocolate eating persons on the way, and one large easter bunny leaving a trail for others to find! Stopped on the way back to sign the log between the passing hordes. Unicornnikita and Little Blue Elephant were with us, together with fellow a Birralee Cub Scout Little Yelllow Elephant. TFTC
After a visit from the easter bunny in the morning it was time for a walk down the creek. I used the GPS to get to GZ and dad found the cache. TFTC

Found on a caching and camping weekend in Wee Jasper with Fraggle_Rock, Wasptor and Leechie.
We found the cache, but are going to have to log a DNF against the waterfall. We went up, we went down, but the waterfall was not around. But thanks for the cache, and a nice walk following a rope up a hill.
Found this one with Kirbstars, Wasptor and Family on our weekend Camping Trip (4 of 7 for trip)
Then continue to find the water falls which no one could find... maybe the lower track was under water!

Found while camping nearby - the others decided they would swim for a while.
Coords tried to put me on the wrong side of the creek.

Took us a while to find this one - the Garmin kept directing us to somewhere on the other side of the creek! Eventually found it under a suspicious looking rock 'formation' unlikely to have been put there by nature. Lovely location - the Geohusband spent a lot of time camping out here when he was younger. We keep meaning to come out here and camp with the geohounds but usually just end up doing day trips.
12:40pm
After quite a search, the youngest turned it up easily, hmmm, always the way eh?
Beautiful spot, continued the walk up to see the pools a bit further on.
Cheers

Found after studying the photo and alot of turning over rocks. If your at wombat hole your close.
Just checked this cache out to make sure it survived the recent floods. Once I got here and seen how high the water ahd been and just how much damage the floods have made to the river and bush I was sure it would have been washed away so was pleasnatly surprised to find it still tucked away. Container was waterlogged but log book dry. Have dried everything else out and replaced in hidey hole. All good.
On 6 from 6 Brindabella cacheing day with someone else's kids in tow. They add to the atmsophere.
Despite Ding's insistence, we weren't going for a swim although camping in the area would be splendid.
Will come back and bring more company.
Cheers

Our last Micalong Cache. We'll leave the walk for next time. Thanks for bringing us to this gorgeous part of the world. There was a lot of water flowing after the recent rains, but it sure looked too cold for swimming at this time of year!

Still high and dry. Surprised at how many people do know of this spot. We thought it would probably be quite deserted on the day before school goes back. TFTH
