This was not an easy find as predicted by the cache page. Coords led us to a spot in-between some trees, maybe some 10m to the closest one? We started walking around them, one by one, and poking the holes. But after checking some 6 trees in total and moving further and further away from the coords, we gave up.
It was dark though.

I waked up in the morning and heard a sound which I don't t like - rain...
So I had switched my plans for today before my biking-hiking tour in NZ will start tomorrow. At lunch time I hired a bike and did some sightseeing in and around the Hagley Park. And searched for some caches in this area.
Some caches I didn't find and some caches I found easily. This one I found during my search for the bike shop where I wanted to hire a bike.
Thank you!

Found with NZDi. With the Christmas madness over and the extended family travelling near and far for their holidays NZDi and I found ourselves at a loose end. Not wanting to hang around home like Darby and Joan, we booked a couple of nights in a motel in Christchurch and headed off down the line... the newly opened State Highway One that is, which had been closed for one year, one month and one day due to the Kaikoura earthquake.
We were awestruck to see the power Mother Nature had wrought upon the landscape and were equally amazed at the engineering feats mankind had used to overcame Mother Nature's carnage. On our trip south we made a deliberate decision not to cache so that we could get a true indication of how long the trip now took. For us that was four hours and fifteen minutes including the three comfort/morning tea stops totalling around half and hour. A pretty good effort we thought and just over half the time it took us last time we went by the other route.
It is Day 2 of our visit to Christchurch and what better way to start the day than cache Hagley Park. I had even done some prep and solve a couple of the puzzle caches here that were within my capabilities. We had come dressed for summer and today didn't live up to that expectation. While all the locals were rugged up for temperatures in the low to mid teens, we were grinning and baring it (literally) and absolutely freezing. I think the temperature must have had an affect on our caching abilities as we DNF'd our first effort, and by the time we got here another couple of elusive caches had been added to the list of the unfound. I think we have been spoiled by a multitude of bumandworker caches further north that have watered down our ability to find decent hides. All was not lost because by the time we left Hagley Park the score was 13 to 3 in our favour. Here GZ was in the middle of five possible hiding sites and it was typical of my luck today that the cache was located in the fifth one that I looked at.
The CO has certainly come along way since finding their 500th cache eight years ago.

Backpacking through NZ using geocaching to find the local hidden gems. Greetings from Belgium! Tftc
Quick find today, congrats on the achievements Troodles.
Christmas Eve today, and after a few hours shopping in the morning for presents and food - it was surprisingly quiet at the mall, as it turned out - we decided to spend the middle of day doing a spot of caching. Joining Jo and I was my mum, who got a basic rundown of what it was all about and then off we went. They had to be park and grabs cos of time limitations, but we had no real targets - just anything close to our temporary base for the next week (Barrington). Thanks to all the COs, we had few issues today and a good day exploring.

Due to some reasons I had to stay for 6 days in Christchurch. In the end I was happy for this opportunity, started to like the city and had a lot of time for searching some caches.
Thank you to all the owner for hiding. Had a lot of fun! Sorry for the standard log, but I can't remember them in Detail.
Wish you all the best.

A quick trip to ChCh for a squash awards night last night and a catch up with some friends. I managed to fit in an early walk while hubby is still in bed and this was number 5.... a few dog walkers around so had to be extra stealthy.

Found it reasonably quickly after a bit of scouting around. Description of the container in the cache description is incorrect. Log is pretty soggy but still able to be signed.
Had some time to kill before a hospital appt so wandered round the park with mixed results - this was my 3000th find so apt that it was at a cache celebrating a milestone signed log Thanks for the cache
Up from Dunedin for a nursing course at the hospital! Realized that Hagley Park was probably a great location for caching so checked the app. Yussss, a few right by our hotel. Jumped up early this morning to head out. Cold, but worth it! Without my GPS it was a bit of 'pick a tree' but got there in the end! TFTC!
After a long while (blaming coordinates and similar looking trees to the photos back in time) we were going to stop when Mum found right tree and I found cache TFTC. Ps picked up tb and owners should strengthen and correct coordinates if possible
This one is just not doing it for me. With the tree cover sendingy GPS all over the place and no hint I will never find it. Thanks for bringing me here anyway. On to the next one.
Hot day before night shift - walk around Hagley Park in the morning to blow away the cobwebs. Great spot, hardly any muggles around due to the heat and time of day so sat down and tried to look innocent while I logged it
Found this one during our today´s tour through the Hagley Park. Due to the the jumping GPS Signal it took a while but in the end we found it.
Thanks for the cache

Travelling through NZ I had a full day in Christchurch and whilst exploring the city found some caches - or vice versa .
This was one of the caches found.

Wasn't sure I had the right cache for a start as couldn't find the same names on the log as online but the notepad is a bit the worst for wear so maybe people wrote any old place. Trusted my instinct rather than my phone and found it easily. Thanks for the cache.
Found with cab165 on a post work geocycleventure... cleaned the candy and wet rubbish out. I'm fairly sure I've tried to come here before but walked around in the rain for too long. Thanks for the cache
Found with odgersaj when he was doing 100 in a month! Signed the log back then but didn't do the online bit so logging now. Thank you!!
Find #2621. Taking a short holiday in Christchurch to explore the city by bike and collect caches. The gps lead me on a merry dance under the trees but eventually found the cache. SL TFTC
Found it with dave981.. but probably in the wrong place!
Put it back where it was.. but coordinates send you in a different spot!

After a long search with my alternative crew. We found it. It could do with a new book.
Found it as I walked through the park. A little exposed so I rehid it. No pen so I couldn't log it
Made the find by ducking in between dogs and joggers - such a lively place, even on a Sunday lunchtime! TFTC.
Needing a break away from a couple of days of a netball tournament, the boys needed a break so escaped from the sidelines and nailed this one! TFTC
