Got my mate Amarana11 to climb the bank for me! Funky wee location with beautiful views
Decided to go the "adventurous" way to retrieve this cache and the "easy" way back. Wonderful view here. TFTC
We figured out a way to locate the cache without climbing up the bank. A fall from there would not be pretty. Watch out your steps. Cache is in good condition. Thanks for the cache!
Wow very fun, we clambered up the bank, found the cache, then realised that there was a much easier way than that! TFTC
Natst se pak prodrala houtm njak mlad ochrnkyn prody, kter la naplnit pasti proti oposumm jedem, a ta mi poradila, e nco divnho vidla v zemi pln mimo souadnice. No byla to keka. Today I found another old cache from November 2000 in Unity Park and then went to see the Otago peninsula. I enjoyed geocaching and nice views and made it to the end to the colony of albatrosses and blue penguins. However, neither type of animal can be seen here without taking part in an organized tour, and they were sold out and it started to rain. So I went around the lookout points and took a different route over the ridge of the cliffs back to Dunedin. Thanks for the cache and greetings from Czech republic.
The big mission of today day was to break my record of most finds in 1 day. I started in the morning from Larnach Castle, after spending the night there. Unfortunately, the weather was really bad for part of the day but I persisted nonetheless, going on a geocaching hunt through the wind and rain, on my bike! After going down Highcliff Road into the city, I spent a lot of time in the city centre, ticking off all adventure labs there. Then through the botanical gardens and onto the steepest street in the world, which I managed to ride all the way up in 3 'stints' . To finish off I grabbed some more tradies at the waterfront and just before midnight I called it a night. I'm not sure if I broke the record yet, since I'm only logging all finds at the moment .Btw, sorry to all CO's, I did not manage to actually sign all logs, since my fingers were sometimes so cold, I had no strength to open some tight containers. Rest assured, I actually found all containers and enjoyed the full day hunt a lot! Also sorry for this generic log for all caches, making it a little bit easier for myself, since I found so many. All finds were relatively easy, mostly because of the hints, thanks for that. All DNF's were either taking too much time so I had to move on, or were very probably missing. Many thanks to all CO's for placing and maintaining! FP's rewarded for the ones I especially enjoyed!
Interesting stop on our way to Dunedin. Thanks for the cache and greetings from the Czech Republic.
Another cache with an amazing view! Nice easy find for the cachelette. TFTC!
Interesting plaque, TFTC encouraging me to stop here and read about cheese manufacture.
We're currently travelling New Zealand in search of adventures. We're exploring the Otago Peninsula
3 March 2023 15:59 - Cache Number 2828
A quick find here and the cache is in good condition. The scramble looked like it was once a bit easier than it was today. TFTC

Found while taking a longer detour back to Broadbay after a section of the road was closed with a rock fall. Interesting site TFTC
A roadie today with Tania, keeping her company on her mission, my job navigating..and nabbing a few caches myself Tania did the finding while I waited below avoiding the rocks rolling down towards me. cool story tftc
Cache 1026 had decided that while I was on holiday a trip to Dunedin was in order to fill in some missing spots on my “hidden dates” grid, I asked Wombats_4 if she was up for a roadie and she was more than happy to come with Be aware the bank is eroding under this massive tree I approached it safely by using the driveway beside the tree, cache was a quick easy find in good condition T4TC
Sent GeohoundandI in for this. She went straight up, came down the easier way.
Spending a week in Dunedin. Mrs Rubbishparty had to return home for work leaving me the hard task of collecting smileys. Today we cycle the Peninsula going out on Highcliff road to the Albatross centre the back along Portabella road. Great views from up here. Lots of hills so good to rest and find a cache. Thanks for the history and smiley.
Quick stop here this morning on the way back from the sandfly bay. Amazing views out the harbour. Thanks for placing and maintaining the cache
NZ first cheese, we had to stop, as cheese lovers, there not other option. The cache was hard to retrieve, we would have put a higher terrain grading. But we sent little cacher up, he threw the cache at us and then placed it back where it goes. Both container and logbook were in good condition. thanks for showing us this great location!
The archived multi drew me to park right at the GZ for this cache. Looked up and thought oh darrr I have to climb that? Nah, went to the drriveway and reached the cache from the fence. The dated swag got looked over but TNLN. Two dry logbooks in the cache were dry and ok without a baggy to sign but the clip on the sistema has been cracked yet still locks ok. Returned cache to the RRP and left the way I approached. Much safer. I like the local cheeses at the market, although they charge the same as a 1kg block from the big name stores, no one is offering a real blue cheese. TFTC *RTP 325pt*.
Reluctantly I am going to do a cut and paste for most of my logs today. Lytteltonwitch, Geomum007 and I had a very busy day. Most logs were signed in full some were initials. We had a FANTASTIC day, walked our wee socks off and tomorrow - home time, has come around too fast. Thanks to all the cache owners for making this Dunedin stay so memorable.
Out and about today for some caching. Had our family xmas a few days ago before we left home so today was just us. Decided to hit central Dunedin today as figured there would be less people around. The only people we did seem to hit was a couple of Chinese tour groups.
Just wandering the streets of Dunedin now stopping off at caches we have solved or we like the sound of. Someone was parked here on our first pass so went up the road til we found a place to turn around safely and the vehicle was gone by the time we got back. tftc

Mrs Biggles, Daughter #1 and I took a drive along the peninsula to take in the views and on our way back towards the city, we stopped so I could find a few caches. Nice one! Thanks for bringing me to this historic spot that I wouldn't have known about without the cache here. Found the cache safe and sound exactly where it was supposed to be. Up the bank and down the drive and we were off on our way. TFTC, Biggles.
Have been past this location many times and did not know this plaque was here. I made the "short clamber up the bank" (just) and wished I'd taken the driveway up, which I discovered once I arrived at the cache location. Once you think you know where GZ might be, take the driveway for an easier route to the cache! TFTC.
(# 6093). Day 7 of my South Island odyssey. Today is getting some caches around Dunedin as well as having a good look around. Had to get this one as I love cheese. A quick find. Everything in order. TFTC

I started my great and unique round trip over the South Island in Christchurch.
My first major stopover was at Lake Tapeko - here I hiked up to Observation Mountain.
I then planned two days in Mount Cook NP with some unforgettable hikes. My big goal was the Mueller Hut - on a super strenuous hike I reached it.
I continued my journey over the lonely Danseys Pass to Dunedin.
Afterwards I drove along the Southern Scienic Route via Invercargill to Manapouri for some days. On this route I visited many sights and enjoyed the beautiful nature again and again.
I already booked a tour to the Doubtful Sound in advance - another highlight on my tour.
Afterwards I drove on to Queensown and Wanaka. From there I continued over the Haast Pass to the lonely Jackson Bay with storm and heavy rain. Afterwards I drove along the west coast always in pouring rain.
The rain stopped the whole west coast, but I had good rainwear with me. Only high up in Nelson the sun shone again.
Soon I reached the east coast again in Picton and Blenheim and the sun was shining again.
After a few days I travelled back to Christchurch via the beautiful town of Kaikoura.
At the end of my round trip I spent a few more days in Christchurch and its surroundings.
I visited many geological sites and found many caches on my round trip. In Rangiora I visited an event.
I travelled 3418 km and take home a lot of positive experiences.
Thanks to many beautiful caches I was also shown unique locations, historical sites and geological features.
I am overwhelmed by the fantastic and ever changing nature on the South Island of New Zealand - I will definitely come back.
Many thanks to all owners

CJCurry and Hevic left me to find this one, having already grabbed it, as I made my precarious way up the bank. Got to the cache after some careful maneuvering across the top - and then swearing as I realised I could have made life a lot easier for myself. At least the exit was simple. Tftc!
I had just reached where I could see the cache would be hidden when a car comes down the drive and stops. So I take a few "photos" with my GPS. That must've satisfied them as they drove off. Interesting read here thanks Mollymop. TFTC # 13,628
Quick find on a very rainy cloudy and misty day. Thanks for the cache! Greetings from Germany, GolmarKlonk
#6061. Day No.2 of my long weekend in Dunedin. I had a workshop down here on Thursday and Friday and decided it was too good an opportunity to not stay on and do some geocaching. So booked a couple of nights accommodation at the Top 10 campground and picked up a rental car. Today had a CITO event at 9.30am. The forecast for the afternoon was not great but decided to come out to the Peninsula to pick up some interesting caches. The weather had turned by this stage and a strong southerly was blowing with light rain falling. Parked in the parking bay. Short scramble uphill and I was at the cache. Signed the log and replaced the cache as found. Took a more sedate path back to the car. Thanks for hiding the cache here Mollynop.
Down in dunnas for the weekend "caching up" with kjr.
After a morning walk down to bolder beach and back up paradise track we had lunch just down the road so was just a quick stroll to get an easy find .no tb at home tftc

Nice day for a drive out on the peninsula. Would be remiss of me not to pick up a couple of caches along the way. A bit of scramble to the hiding spot led to a quick find. TFTC
Down from Northland for a few days for a short visit and just had to make sure of a cache or three each day. After the dramas with the flat battery in the rental cache mobile at the gates at the entrance to the castle, I left Mrs in the car with the engine running here, whilst I headed off to look for the cache.
With the good hint, the cache was quickly located, the log signed and all replaced safe and secure, as found. Great view from up here too. TFTC

It was interesting to see this plaque here. I carefully planned a route to get to the cache location and found the treasure exactly where I expected it to be. TFTC, Mollymop.
TregearP and I were on our way to another cache, but when the title of this cache popped up there was no way that TregearP was going to pass by. A quick find after looking at the memorial and reading the plaque. Thanks for motivating us to stop here. All in good order, signed log and replaced as found.
On parental leave we used the time for some stops to visit interesting places. This was one of them Thank you for leading us to this location.

Interesting fact stated on the plaque - had no clue about the cheese factory. In the meantime, ReCached quickly found the cache. TFTC Mollymop!

Wowsers - preparing for a road-trip for the long weekend, and realised I'd forgot to log this! A fantastic spot, an otherwise unremarkable (until you read whats on it!) plaque, and a wee container...what more could you want? TFTC
Von hier aus hatten wir einen tollen Blick auf Dunedin.

Off the Golden Princess and we hired a car to get around to do as many caches as possible before we need to be back onboard. This was find number 15 for the day. Talk about finding the hard way to get to it. Once there it was obvious there was an easier way down. Whoops

We had hired a car for the day today and travelled from Port Chalmers, to Dunedin and out to Larnach Castle, caching our way there and back.
