Logs
This was a very easy find; it almost leapt out at me!The tube containing the logs must have a problem as all the logs with thoroughly soaked Performed minor maintenance by putting a new log in a new tube, and put it in the main cache. Existing logs left in place.TFTC
Has eluded us today, will be back once winter brings some rain. Beware of spikey plants
We have stopped the trails for today and are on our way to our Port Vincent accommodation but there's always time for one. Sidewaze, Paddle Chick, Bullertrout, IsisNZ and Nanzie are signing our logs as SPBINZ or sometimes SPINZ as BT has done a large number of caches on the Peninsula. TFTC Ciril#16037
Caching as team SPBINZ: Sidewaze, Paddlechick, Bullertrout, IsisNZ and Nanzie from Nelson, New Zealand. We've had an awesome day caching and are winding down now as we head to Port Vincent for the night. Thanks for the cache
Found as part of the SPBINZ team (Sidewaze, Paddle Chick, Bullertrout, IsisNZ, and Nanzie). After completing the crab geoart and some more of the Gone Fishin' trail were now heading towards Port Vincent for the night. Unfortunately we didn't spot any emu or their chicks - we did spot a cache though which is the most important thing afterall. TFTC Ciril and kia ora from Aotearoa/New Zealand # 21,629tepoti/Dunedin is the place to be 26-27 October, 2024 for GCA7ZHD - Geo Toroa Mega! Please come and join in the fun, find heaps of caches and experience some wonderful Southern hospitality.
We started our day in Wallaroo - yesterday was a big day on the gone fishin line of caches so today we thought we would have an explore around Wallaroo. Facinating hisotry and so delighted to see it being preserved. Lovely views from around town. Thanks to the Co's for all the caches and adventure labs that we did this morning. We visited Maitland after completing the sea horse series . There is a little country town in Southland New Zealand also called Maitland. Not much there these days .Headed down the road to Port Vincent before heading back to Adelaide for the Great Leap Forward Mega .Thanks to Ciril for the cache. The day became to hot for caching . The rental thought it was 44 . Luckily the air is really dry so we are surviving the odd cache.
Day 1 on the Yorke before attending the Great Leap Forward.Amazingly ten of us have travelled from the Nelson area (top of the South Island) and as luck would have it, Andy & Gail just happened to be staying in Port Vincent at the same time as me.Much more fun finding geoart in a group so I greatfully accepted an offer to be driven around by Andy for the day while Gail did the expert navigating. We signed the Crab logs as MAG and most of the other finds with our full caching names. No sign of wildlife today. Strongly the container had a layer of water in it. How? The whole countryside is dry as a bone.TFTC
Out and about with Marchwood today. We have found all the crab geoart and had some lunch so now we are just wandering to grab what we can before heading back to Port Vincent for the event.Last before our event in Port Vincent today. Thanks for the company today - Marchwood. tftc#7444
I am trying to hit a major milestone in April and this weekend was my chance to get closer to my goal. the JAMMS (JJ52, Allister W, me, michells&hound and sir_spectre) generously helped me find 300+ caches and all caches were replaced better than found.
Thanks to Ciril from mogni

found after doing some of the nearby geo art. quick find.
Found with JAMS ( JJ52, Allister w, Mogni, Mitchell&hound plus sir_spectre ) crew. Mogni wants to get to 20, 000 by the Rutherglen Mega in Victoria and make that event her 20, 000 th. Targeted so multi's on the way down to get me closer to 1000 multi's, under 15 to go and got another 8 this trip. So we went out to get some parts of the fishing line geo art that some of the JAMS members haven't completed plus the " Crab ", " The Hook " and the " Sea Horse " geo art series plus some extra caches along the way. By request of one of the members of the fishy tales we swapped the logs sheets for new log sheets ( at least 350 ) and we also removed the 10 mint tins we found and replaced them with preform tubes. All containers found eaten, creacked, broken or with out lids were also replaced with the caches supplied bt the fishy tales group. By the end of the trip we had filled 1 and 3/4 quartes of a standard sized medium bin liner bag with log sheets and broken containers ( some containers not of the geo art series ). Only sighted 2 snakes while doing the geo art but i think i walk though at least 3 dozen spider webs. I found a trackable on the ground about 2 meters from the cache while doing the crab geo art, some people need to be more careful when carrying trackables in their pockets while caching. We stayed in Port Vincent over night. I even got my 18, 000 cache find this weekend, that is probably less surprising since i got just under 400 finds for the weekend. A good weekend away was had by all and it wasn't to hot but i wouldn't have wanted it any hotter.

Another cache found with richlink on our 2022 South Australian Adventure. We are enjoying the small towns, beaches, cliffs, history and ruins we encounter along the way. The cache was full of water so we dried it as well as we could and replaced the sodden log and put it in a MT and put it all in the original cache. Should be good now. Thanks for the cache Ciril.
Making hay while the sun shines with rain ️ forecast later today. Heading to Port Vincent and surrounds with iluvtrekking. Thanks for the hide.
A short stop here today, managed to find the cache nicely hidden and all is well
With 2.5 days free and nothing to do, what better than to head to the yorke peninsula for a few days. I made a plan of trying to clean up majority of the caches on the peninsula going from cache to cache. Managed to come away with only a few left and 247 finds for the few day trip.
Thanks for the cache

The three of us were spending some time on Yorke Peninsula, and today Mr Tardis went out for a caching run between Port Vincent and Minlaton
I'm happy to report that found this cache in the first place I looked - don't you just love it when that happens?
Signed the log. Thanks for the cache Ciril.

Staying at Edithburgh, helping out the district through BlazeAid, today was a day off so we ventured out using Geocaching as our guide.

Spent the weekend travelling Yorke’s, been lucky to find a few and unluckily not to find a few others. That gives us an excuse to return for another round of treasure hunting.
Many thanks to the CO for bringing Team Holden into uncharted territories.

This was a nice quick find once at Ground Zero, although no sign of any Emus today. We signed the log book and then replaced as found. Thanks so much for the cache and greetings from Zimbabwe
After a day yesterday completing another section of the Gone Fishn' series we decided today to concentrate on those inland caches that we hadn't found. [^]
We started at Minlaton, then went over to Stansbury and had a successful day finding 30 caches with no DNF's.
Another park that I had no idea about.
Thanks for the cache Ciril.

Holidaying in Minlaton with Messy61... thought we would go for a drive and pick up some caches in the area. Beautiful day, sun warmer than the temperature rates but a good day to do some caches. Lovely breeze down this way, keeping us cool. Dog was promised a walk about but we parked so close to the cache we could almost reach out and grab it without getting out of the car. TFTC
Another fun day caching with DoubleHelixClan and Murphy the geodog. No wildlife encounters today. TFTC
Another detour off the trail to find this cache in this terribly unloved park.
Soon found and log signed.

Found with dty73 and youban on our Yorke Peninsula invasion! All logs signed DTY (dty73/Tankengine/youban). - Had a great day today, in that we didn't do any of the power trails! That was a very nice change! So a nice variety and some very nice locations! Thanks!
On a caching trip with Dty73 & Tankengine to Yorke Peninsula. Team signed as DTY. All good. Kutgw
We have a small team travelling to The Yorke Peninsula from Canberra. It was decided by the group before we left that our team name would be DTY, although I act like the boss, I rarely am and so the initials actually stand for - dty73, Tankengine & Youban.
Today the team decided that it was a “tourist day” and we would go have a look around a small part of the peninsula to see what there is. But of course like true geocachers we couldn’t help taking a caching route as we went. We ended up getting a lot more than we expected, but we did have a good time.
Drove down the road and parked right next to the cache. Found easy enough and in good condition. Tftc Ciril!!!

Today we explored the area between Minlaton, Curramulka, Port Vincent and back to Minlaton using Geocaching as a guide and picking up a few caches on the way with Roostaman and this was one of them. An easy find at GZ.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Geocaching has taken me on many adventures over the years all over Australia and overseas. It has also introduced me to a brilliant and diverse group of people, many of whom are now close friends.
Today I was lucky enough to be out and about with some of those friends and we targeted this cache.
Sorry for the late log, but thanks for adding to the adventure!

This morning we started our day by attending a CITO - what a great way to give back to the local community and environment.
And after spending several nights in Edithburgh, Gary and I once again took our time to drive around the YP...we finally ended up in a lovely holiday home in Marion Bay (for 2 nights) so we could be super close to Innes National Park. A quick stop at an IGA on the way meant we could cook a good old Aussie bbq for dinner - YUM!!
Some of the cache hides today were easy, others were more challenging, but overall we enjoyed yet another wonderful day with fantastic weather.
Thanks for the cache Ciril

Woo hoo, the lovely Micaparamedic and I decided we would attend the June Long Weekend Event in South Australia (Edithburgh) and make the most of a road trip to the glorious Yorke Peninsula by spending a week away - NICE! [^]
We particularly enjoyed exploring Innes National Park and focussing on the new earth caches on the YP and in Burra.

Found at 1053. It appears that when the land was donated was when it was last maintained. The park that is. cache OK. TFTC.

Another of our wonderful Australian icon's.
First we must appologise for the generic logs.
We came to Yorke Peninsular with Speedmistress who hails from Queensland to cache our little hearts out and this we are doing.
We solved loads of puzzles prior to coming and with all the earth, multi, trads and puzzles there are here we were never lacking in variety.
When we found caches that needed repair we have done our best to do what was possible, unfortunately we have now rum out of spare containers, so no more repairs can be done. We have enjoyed the scenery, the walks, the animal life and the challenges that was encountered while traveling the Peninsular. Not all the caches have been attempted due to time restraints but those have been earmarked for future visits.
We also would like to thank Speedmistress for supplying our geocaching chariot.
A huge thanks to all the cache owners for placing these caches for us to enjoy.

Travelled from Queensland to meet up with Muff1 for a Geocaching extravaganza on the beautiful Yorke Peninsular. Our goal to Cache, Cache and Cache. Each day our "finds" have been growing in number, some days more productive then others. We have also been careful to take time to appreciate the natural wonder of the areas we have visited. A big thank you to all of the dedicated Cache placers who have made this possible.
Wow Yorkes has certainly turned on the magnificent weather for our ANZAC long weekend - what better way to spend the day than caching while staying at Port Vincent. TFTC
Staying at Minlaton and headed out with The Drovers to cache the area to Yorketown, PT Vernon then return. We found a variety of caches along the way and this was one of them.

Left Yorketown, and travelled to Minlaton via Port Vincent, picking up caches with Konie.
We travelled some great country roads, and the scenery was stunning.
Even though it was quite hot, we managed to do a few trail and other caches in the area.
Many thanks for placing this cache, Ciril, for us and others to find.

Day 2 of our trip and today's plan is to head along the west side and centre of the peninsula, once again the weather was perfect, its great to be back on the Yorke peninsula again and what was suppose to be a overnight stay ended up being a 2 nights and 3 days stay on the Yorke peninsula, we managed to find quite a few while here and on our third day we had to head back earlier than planned after car issues, the weather was very pleasant while here and we look forward to returning back here to keep finding more caches, we thank all the COs for placing these caches for us to find and making our visit very enjoyable. After a very successful day yesterday on the Fish Trail, we decided that today we would drive a loop from Warooka to Minlaton, Port Vincent, Edithburgh, Yorketown and back to Warooka to see what the area has to offer, to look for some caches we didn't have on our initial lists and to plan a return to cache the area more extensively. This was one of the extra caches we tackled on our tour. After a short walk, accurate coordinates led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks for the cache Ciril.

Heading to Marion Bay for a weekend's fishing I thought I'd leeave early a pick up a few caches.
Nearly gave up on this one as I couldn't see how to get near it. Then I drove down the road a bit further and found the turn off.

So I was heading to Stansbury for an engagement party for two friends and thought, why not get some caches on the way! Packed with a change of clothes so I'd look at least presentable at the party and the GPS loaded with caches, I set off at 8am.
Easy find, took trackable - the Dutch one.

No emus today, young or old. Though after you've stroked a 7-day old emu chick (this was w-a-y back down the road in NT) & you've tasted emu burgers at Parachilna, well you've done it all as far as emus are concerned. Though I'm still waiting to smack into one with the bullbar...
Amazing the things that you find just down the road from were you live, Tk2 had a chat to the emu's. tftc
I spotted the cache and then sent the squirrel in to sign and replace - like every manly squirrel should! Hehehe, TFTC
A quick and easy find on our way back from the Yorkes with Bek-theraccoon. TFTC
South Australia 2013 with Sol de Lune. We headed off on 12/4 and arrived home on 28/4. The trip was to visit the SA series so more time could be spent at the Mega itself next year. We did a huge variety of caching around Murray Bridge, the Mid North, Yorke Peninsula and Whyalla Region. Apart from one wet night and two wet days we were able to spend heaps of time caching.
Today we were traveling on the Yorke Peninsula, the original destination for this trip for the fifth and final full da that took us back north and west. Plenty of history to be seen here. We went via as many of the towns as possible along the way. Everyone has done a great job of placing a great variety of caches and we had a great day.

Grabbed with Albida on our 2 week caching run from Canberra to, and around, different parts of South Australia including Loxton, Murray Bridge, Tailem Bend, Yorke Peninsula and around to Whyalla before heading home via Broken Hill, Cobar and Parkes. We completed a few power trails and left a couple to do when in the area again for next years Mega event.
Overall a great many different styles and types of caches found. A great time was had caching for 16 days straight as well as camping along the way.

One of nineteen finds today. We should call it a toy run as the little spidermonkey was madly refilling caches with bouncy balls and squinkies. Great day for it, very little traffic and not one DNF. Thanks for the adventure. TBs visited.
Found on a day of caching on the York Peninsular.
We saw some marvellous beach scenery, fields of ploughed wheat. The caches were all good & scattered over various types of locations.

Three April Fools set off in the dark on Easter Monday for a caching adventure over to YP. CPWanderer in the pilot seat, Aussie Mark (from M&M fame) navigating and me in the back for comedy relief. We got 46 smilies with a FTF to boot, 1 DNF, picked up 5 trackables, left 7 trackables and met two other teams on the hunt. I left one of my pathtags in each town we visited!
Quick find. No emus today. Thanks Ciril.
