Hi all
Well as this one developed some issues and we are unable to fix we will archive and allow the area to open up for a new hide.
If anyone is in the area and able to pick up the container for us that would be appreciated otherwise we will pick up when next in the area that will be quite some time unfortunately. If you are able to pick up please feel free to reuse it it can be used or please just discard it. There is no need to return to us.
We hope that everyone enjoyed this little challenge and if you were unable to gain a smiley we hope that you at least enjoyed the views and maybe even spotted a whale.

Took the family for a weekend in gerringong with our friends since it's school holidays - immediately identified the caches around the area and decided to tackle a few as we go - left geokids in the cars with geomums - found my way to GZ with faswad - we gave ourselves 10 minutes to find this because it was starting to get dark and the wind was picking up so thought due to difficult and terrain if we don't find it in 10 we just revisit some other day - just before reaching GZ I had to attend to nature's call so passed on the phone to faswad - then when I caught up with him he was within 2 metres from GZ - with a joint effort and in no time we had CIH - cache needs maintenance and water is leaking to box - log is damaged so couldn't do our signing duties - unfortunately we couldn't do much to repair the situation - returned it to where we found it - TNLN TFTC it is indeed one of the most beautiful spots I have seen!!!
Kiwis on tour.
I am surprised that you expect people to clamber around on a cliff face to look for a cache. I think this cache should be removed before someone is hurt.
But you are right it is a spectacular place.

Found ages ago with Mizcupcake on a day trip around the area. Forgot all about it. Which is odd cause i love the south coast
Ridiculous placement. Not worth it. Walked away, after gazing at the great view.
Tried to find it and worked my way down on some ledges to no avail. Will try again when I have someone with me. It is very steep.
Tried really hard to find this, but have decided to attempt it again when I have someone else with me. It is really steep. Thanks anyway!!
Out for Day of Caching with The Klack.
Did not find this one.
It was too windy, the grass was very long so could not see where we stepping and decided its not worth falling for a cache.
Should be Terrain 5......
Thanks
May try on another day.

Found the cache on the ground - need TLC and very wet need new log sheet. Thanks.
Stopped here for lunch yesterday however combination of wind and rain decided was too dangerous for geokids. Next time.
Yeah, pretty much the edge. Fantastic lookout!

The container is cracked and the contends wet, but intact.

Wouldn't like to try for this one on a very windy day! Somewhat alarming going in for the grab - I'm amazed it's stayed in position. Log is quite wet but Gill&Tony and I managed to get our names on it. Amazing views from up here - almost 360 degrees. TFTC!

For Earthcache day, geoson NationalSteel and I decided to join forces to get an earthcache or two. Unfortunately there are very few mutually unfound ones hearby and we finally decided to meet in Gerringong to tackle two of the local ones. Then, Earthcache duties done, we tackled some traditionals
Having done the earthcache down below, we set off for this one. The cache was in full view, but difficult to access. Fortunately I was able to let NationalSteel do the tricky stuff while I watched and then signed the log.
The log was very damp and all the contents were wet. We took nothing, left nothing and NationalSteel replaced the cache as found. It still looks very exposed and could easily be blown away by a strong wind. Maybe the CO could check that it is actually in te right place.
Thanks TEAM CASHO for the cache.

OMG crab crawling about with birds flying below us.
The cache is completely soggy so we added a dry piece of paper.
This is the most precarious one I have ever done.

We started our extended weekend trip from Cherrybrook. Our first stop was at Lake Illawarra. After, we made our way to beautiful Jervis Bay. Here I was surprised with a beautiful whale watching cruise where we saw many dolphins and seals.
After watching the amazing marine life, we continued our way to Batemans Bay where we stopped at many beaches and many nice locations.
The highlight of our tour was waiting for us in Durras where we got to cuddle with tame wild kangaroos. An amazing experience.
Here we also found a cache.
Thank you

Following the earth cache, we walked around and picked a potential location for this one. Once we were up on the right level, we got down low and crawled over. The view was fantastic and The weather was amazing.
After finding the nearby earth cache with jomingara we had a look from the bottom for this cache and spotted a likely hiding spot. It looked pretty safe. Once we got to the top . . . yowsers! It's a bit steeper than I thought! But before I could even get my footing on the grassy slope jomingara was already calling out "found it". So much easier to cache in a team.
Thanks for this cache. Great spot to sit and watch the world go by. Gerroa has to be one of the hidden treasures of the south coast cause it is just beautiful down here and there never seems to be too many people around. The log was pretty wet after the recent rains but we managed to sign all the same. Thanks again!

Great views . Nice place to sit and watch the waves just dont get to close to the edge. TFTC Team casho
Last time we were here we bottled out on this cache as from memory the wind was too strong and the grass was damp. Today the conditions were far safer although it still felt a bit dodgy getting so close to the edge!

Out enjoying this amazing weather in a beautiful location this afternoon after lunch at the Fisherman's Club. I chickened out a few meters short but geohubby grabbed a handful of grass to stop from going over the edge, then threw the cache up to me to sign the log. TFTC
we are adventurous BUT in saying this ...... this ones quite dangerous , didn't want to get to close to edge, could see the drop off through the stout shrub hanging off the side, deff saw where the cache was but "nope" left it where it was
TFTC and thank you for the great location. Caches like this make it a worthwhile activity. This was more of an adventure since we used our climbing tape and a belay to safely reach the cache. The technique used was similar to that in the movie Touching The Void except geowife would not let me use the knife to cut the tape. If she went I was expected to follow!
GeoWife1 and I spent four very peaceful days in Kiama, staying at the West Beach Holiday Park and of course did a little caching along the way.
Way too DANGEROUS for an old bloke like me. I could see the cache and have a picture of it but way to close to the edge for me.

Nice spot! Amazing view. Watch your step on a wet day though! Lizzie spotted it and Cameron took the plunge. Go team player!
Another cache found before the sun rose. But at least there was enough light to see by. Would NOT want to do that in the dark without a good torch.
All good with the cache.

0545 GAFF1 While on our back north to Sydney then Taree we stopped off and grabbed a couple of caches. While the sun hadn't even risen there was was quite a few people out and about. Was about to head off from finding the Earthcache, and was checking the photos when I realised there was an actual cache here. Just light enough to check out where the cache could be, so we went back.
Sure enough it is Terrain 3½, and while I have done 'worse' caches at full nighttime I would not recommend what I do to everyone! Doesn't qualify for the Night Caching elective, as the sunrise time was 0555, and for the Thesis it needs to be at least an hour after sunset and an hour before sunrise. But I will book mark it for the Challenging Cache elective.
Brought through for mileage: 12-12-12 Event, 3 Bros NSW, Auckland NZ'13, B 2 B Travel ingot, Iconic Bridges 2012, cache critters Baa, Neigh Neddy, and Oink, Natures Camo CITO, NZ Mega 2013 GCookie Coin, and trackable shirts.

Please people take note of the warnings on this cache we would hate to find out someone has been hurt doing this wonderful sport/hobby.
We advise this cache NOT be done at night, in the wet or high winds. Kids should NOT do this one high cliff edges in area. We also recommend this one not be done alone just in case something should go wrong. Come from the top or from the bottom this is up to you to decide but may also NOT be for those that don't like heights.
Please be safe.
In saying all this we feel the T rating is fine for this cache, some may feel it should be higher. If you take your time and be mindful of the environment and the warnings you should find this cache well worth a visit.

Nope, not for us. It was wet and windy, but even on a calm dry day we'd probably want some safety gear before going near this one... (No whales spotted either!)
TFTC. The sun was out, as were the muggles, but managed to trick them into thinking I was there for photography: fools. BYO pen as the one there has run out of ink.
Geohubby had to do the retrieval for this one. What an amazing location, we even saw a seal! TFTC
A bit too scary for this geo duo. We did search for quite a while along the edge but to no avail. JenneG & Budgy
Got close up top then thought 'no way'. Went down below and reconsidered so back up top and inch by inch through the very long grass I got closer. Geo hubby and kids below a bit concerned but once we'd zeroed in it was a bit less daunting . Still an extremely dangerous cache position and not recommended unless you are a mountain goat. The Munzie inside belongs to 'Kingsford Smith' memorial as managed to photograph it then went in search of KS which was missing. Put two and two together and captured photo at KS memorial site and hey presto! Maybe the next mountain goat could grab the Munzie and reposition. Thanks for the 'fun?'
I really should learn to read the D/T rating before heading to a cache! I just thought this was another 'beach cache'. HA! Wrong! After walking along the beach and then the rocks for more than 30 minutes, my GPS arrow started pointing up. Really? Up there? Checked the hint and proceeded to the GZ with great care. Saw the cache when I was 5 metres away which became my little lighthouse. The grass is very long and I couldn't see much over it, except for the cache. Got there and found a safe place to rest my feet. Tried to scan the Munzee that was in the cache but it wouldn't work today. ugh! Signed the log and replaced as quickly as possible as someone on the the distant rocks (way out on that point.....not close enough to see the cache) was starting to glance over at me and I could only imagine that he thought I was going to jump. I quickly headed back to safe ground and proceeded with the local earthcache. Phew! TFTC!
1 amazing view, 1 cliff edge cache and 5 caching friends, a recipe for an awesome adventure - thanks!!
Had been here before but the days have been too wet. Finally a (relatively) lovely day today so decided to jump out and make the grab. Cache found exposed, hidden a little better now (ie. not immediately visible). Quite a scary little spot teetering over the edge. I had what I had considered a pretty stable rock crumble under my foot. That'll get the heart started! Wonderful spot and a great start to my Geocaching day! Cheers.
Thoroughly enjoyed this and the element of danger involved. Loved there was the double of having a fun earth cache nearby too.
Out with TheRomulans (who made the grab), emjoi and TheBSL.
Great fun.

This cache is just asking for an accident and should be moved. As there is no working pen in it and I didn't bring one I wasn't going to risk grabbing it.
Found it but couldn't get pen to work. Next cacher will need to bring at short pencil to place in cache.

One of our more courageous log-signings, with slippery grass, rocks and rain coming in horizontally! No whales to be seen today
Saw it only minutes after I got there, It was a big risk, and we took it. So proud that we retrieved such a hard cache, I will remember this as my most dangerous cache so far. Hopefully I find some more dangerous caches along the way. TFTC!!
Paulyman and I stopped in on the way home from visiting family in Nowra this weekend hoping to make this our 200th find. We could see the cache but couldn't grab it due to the wind. Will try again another day.
Came close enough to GZ to get a visual on the cache, on a beautiful sunny afternoon, but not quite agile enough to reach out to get it. So didn't sign the log, but it is a well placed cache, and the view is enormous. TFTC. No whales but plenty of fishermen on the rocks
Could see it but at our age (wrong side of 60) had no intention of going that last little bit to retrieve to sign the log. Sectacular views and it is a good place to see the whales. Picked up a pod of seven last year from here and followed them from other vantage points to north of Kiama.
Searched high and low. Found but did not hang around to look for whales. Too windy but that is quite normal for this area. Left a star to shine
Tftc... This was scary and kinda exciting at the same time! Left a dinosaur.
Found with mr and mrs ben86 and mr and mrs roger expolsion

Had the place to myself... Raining, windy and no whales. Looked all along the edge, until I lost my footing and slid..... Well that's me done.... I will only attempt this cache again if I have a buddy and a safety rope.... Next time maybe
Found on a very cold and windy winters day! A beautiful spot, no whales today though unfortunately. TFTC
Some of the caches I have done are quite challanging, this one wasnt too bad and I wasn't going to miss out on the grab. Got to be careful in the rain as the grass becomes a bit slipery. SLTN..TFTC
The wind wasent too bad today but it's raining, not too many muggles eighter, the boys had a look and the sencis was who's getting it, before tooling log was signed by all. TFTC
ON THE DAY I DON'T BRING MY RESCUE GEAR I FIND ONE OF THESE HOW DISAPPOINTING. MAYBE NEXT TIME I WILL BRING MY HELICOPTER AND WINCH.
We saw the cache but realised that it would be very unresponsible to try to get it without some kind of safety gear.
This cache is on the edge of being too dangerous for a game like geocaching.

Couldn't work out where it was and was not brave enough today.

Nice hunt! Placed back up on edge, had fallen down bottom of cliff. Tftc! Don't stand at the bottom while anyone is scrambling around the edge. Ouch!
This one was quite scary. Lol very close to the edge. That damn spider scared the crap out of me. I found it some time ago, logged it on my phone but it isn't registering unfortunately. So I'm re logging on my PC.
Took nothing.

You're right this one is close to the edge. Thanks to Cosmo_Sizlack for getting this one.
There I was, leaning out, within about 2 feet from the cache when some other cachers came from behind and helped guide me. Thanks to all.
Wasn't so much the drop that purturbed me, but the damn black spider inside the cache when I opened it. TFTC. Awesome area!
No luck with this on after looking from the top and the bottom. It was blowing a gale and raining. I was by myself so I decided a DNF was better than me found at the bottom of the cliff! I will come back another time.
I'm happy that I only gave to do this once. The iPhone was being a bother and I left my gps at the house but with Geowife cheering me on I got it. I think she saw it as win/ win: either I got the cache or she got the life insurance. TFTC
tftc tnln sl This one was relatively easy after looking down low as the gps said it was 7m past the edge. after checking i found that it was at the top and not the bottom so headed over and done the eath cache befor grabing this one
