We did both walks yesterday, oblivious that a cache was here, so after returning from the summit walk, we called it our 'cool-down' walk! Rather looking forward to putting my feet up now! TFTC
Off for a quick morning, explore, and we are pleased to have a cache to log to record our trip out to the rock. Took a new bag with us but saw someone had already done the maintenance, left bag as a spare. Tftc
Left the mount augustus tourist park this morning and only had the gorge left to do so off we went nice and early. Once we searched the right tree it was an easy find. Replaced the plastic bag holding the log book. Tftc
We rode our bikes across from the tourist park to do this walk. The river red gums are pretty amazing. We made our way to GZ and made find in the second spot we looked. As the previous finders mentioned the bag is disintegrating my one was too small. Needs to be possibly snack or sandwich sized. Thanks for the cache
On the way back from the Exmouth Eclipse staying at Mt Augustus for a couple of nights.
Did some of the short hikes this being the last.
TFTC
PS:- Plastic zip lock bag for the notebook needs replacing, plastic case is OK.

After making the summit of Mt Augustus yesterday, it was time to stretch the legs on some shorter walks in the NP...
So much geology on display here, the shade from the river gums was muchly appreciated !!!
We were pleased to sign the log of another cache from these famous CO's, thanks for bringing us to this location, TFTC Lyn Pat and Nathan

First day at mount Augustus finding caches and taking snaps of my parents. This one does require a bit of scrambling.
Enjoyed our walk through the river gums and on to the gorge. Thanks for placing this cache for our enjoyment.
Beautiful spot! Not game to take the 6 year old to The summit so this will do! TFTC
Quick find here, awesome hike. Walked up to the gorge, still some water up there after the recent rains.

Travelling and hiking with my boys made all that better knowing there was a cache waiting… this little ditty was the perfect little stop before attempting the rest of the climb! TFTH SL TNLN
We did the full walk to the top of the gorge. It was hot work but well worth it. We enjoyed having this cache to find on the way. Thank you.
We drove from the Kennedy Range to here today. Wanting to stretch the legs before hitting the summit tomorrow, we ambled up the gorge.
Nice spot! TFTC Lyn Pat and Nathan

Today our tour - which began in Perth, WA , and led us thru Western, Northern and Southern Australia back to Perth, was simply driving from Gascoyne Junction to Mt Augustus NP.
On the way we came to some interesting locations. Here we searched, found and logged this Tradi-Cache.
Weather was good in the morning and it should even get better during the day.
Thanks to 'Lyn Pat and Nathan' for showing us this location, for the fun we had with 'Kotka Gorge, Mount Augustus' and the smiley. The search here and today didn't take too much time, fortunately.
Greetings from Germany and we hope to see you soon in the forest, prairie, desert or outback .

It was a nice walk along the river bank. Then the climbing. Spot retrieved the cache and signed. Thanks Lyn Pat and Nathsn for placing the cache.
Thanks to Teams "M4YB" and "Megawat60" for helping us out and replacing the aged and broken container with a new one. You even included a photo of the old and new ones in your log. The old one was so brittle.
We appreciate teams keeping these old remote caches in great locations in working order. We always try to do the same with caches when we travel.
Pay it forward as they say...and we will do that.
LPN.

We are heading up north to see some of the wonderful sights our great State has, the amazing scenery, the interesting history, the local characters, it's wonderful to see this part of Australia through the eyes of the local Geocachers.
Up and out early in the morning before the heat set in, it was a beautiful walk, watching the colours come to life on the Rock as I walked in through the wonderful river gums, that was after watching the pre-dawn colours saturate the skies with the awesome rock as a magnificent feature.
We found your cache tucked away neatly, and with signing duties done and dusted, we replaced the cache as found.
Thanks for sharing this interesting spot.

Now staying at the Mount Augustus Park and enjoying a respite from the dusty road. Visited this place in the cool of the morning and after a pleasant walk through the river gums, GZ was located. I had come prepared with a replacement cache, a 1l Sistema that once held a frozen dinner. The logbook has dried out so we signed it and placed it in its new home, along with our pathtags. Thanks for placing this cache LynPatNathan and bringing us to this amazing spot.
Out ‘n about with m4yb getting a few caches.
After our stay at The Kennedy Rangeswe headed over here yesterday and settled into the campsite. Made the drive and the walk to GZ this morning and loved the walk, meandering through the White truncked River Red Gums and then onto GZ.
So glad she could replace the cache for this great oldie. Well worth a fav from me for getting us here.
Thanks for the hide and Lyn Pat and Nathanteam.

Thanks lynpatnathan. Shame i missed you at wagb. Please note: container is buggered. I replaced zip lock bag for the logbook, i had no containers handy. Dropped golden roo off to help his mission of visiting national parks. Tftc.
Embarking on a 17 day holiday to complete the Wool Wagon and Kingsford Smith Mail Run Pathways with a brief stop at Coral Bay in between A total of 4278km in the end
We tried to do the Pathways a few years back but one of the rivers along the way was too high to cross so we didn't do it, now finally we are on our way
Spending a couple of nights at the nearby Tourist Park. Our first time out this way and we are loving it, especially the quietness
So glad didn't have to walk far for this one and the spoiler pic had me on my way up the rocks.
The Gum Grove has some magnificent River Red Gums

Found after a short walk to stretch the muscles after walking to the summit the day before. TFTC.
A fantastic walk after driving the loop and doing a few of the smaller walks container has one weather broken catch and if the next cacher could bring a clip lock bag as the original has perished thanks for bringing us to an awesome part of WA TFTC
Easy find on a beautiful day. Container in poor shape but content ok and dry. TFTC
Found on July 9 on our tour around the Mount Augustus National Park. Thanks for putting a cache a great place like this.
Went for the walk with Phil & Linda on a beautiful morning and soon had it found.
We arrived rather late at Mt Augustus but decided to go for this trail anyway.
It proved to be easier and quicker than stated, but enjoyed the walk up.
The cache was quickly found.
On the way down to the path, I saw a giant spider. Saw it earlier on our trip, but forgot the name (but I can tell that it's not venomous although painful bite and its web is one of the strongest)

Damn! Accoridng to the logbook we just missed our geo-friend Team Pathfinder. They were here just 2 days ago. Anyway we found the cache without any trouble. TFTC Lyn Pat and Nathan
We decided to go for a drive with our friends who are visiting from Queensland, as we both have off road caravans we thought a trip up the stock route to Mount Augustus would give them a pretty good view of outback WA. After three nights of camping out bush we arrived at the Mount Augustus caravan park and set up to enjoy our stay. The temperatures where hot, 38C during the day and mid 20's overnight, just right for a trip up the Gorge and climbing the summit! We left Ian baby-sitting the three boys (our dogs), and decided to tackle Kotka Gorge first. After climbing our the boulders we finally reached the end of the Gorge, or at least as far as the track would take us. What a shame there wasn't any water in the stream, we didn't expect any but it would have been fantastic in the heat. We retreated to the Landcruisers and their welcome cold airconditioning and started off around the loop road. About half way around I decided to turn on the GPS to see how far off our summit cache was - I guess you can figure what happened next! I spotted a second cache which I hadn't realized was there and it was this one - worse still we had probably walked right past it. Too hot to go back today so we devised a cunning plan.... ha ha.
ANZAC Day - three of us had decided to climb the summit leaving at 5.30am to avoid the ensuing heat, that left Ian to baby-sit again and fix a flat on our caravan. Upon daylight he had volunteered to go find the cache as he hadn't done the track the previous day. He left at first light before the heat set in and said he had found the cache and jogged back to the car all in the space of 20 minutes which included taking photos. The cache is still in excellent condition and now has our name in the log.
Thanks Lyn Pat and Nathan - great to find one of your caches again - just like the old days!

Dropped in on when we left the tourist park, short walk and a easy find, left Bobby pin and took the travel bug.

Forgot to log this. Been wanting to get to the rock for 20+ years, finally made it. Got stuck because of rain further south and west. T4TC

Easy cache halfway up, not hard to find and a lovely walk up.

Found on August 14th while we were staying at the 'tourist resort'. We had a wonderful time doing the walks around and up Mt Augustus, amongst the brilliant displays of wildflowers, hearing the birds, etc.
Found the cache and dropped off the shackle trackable - did not know what it was called because picked it up in Karijini and dropped it here with no acces to net.
Frustrated because of GPS signal until remembered hints. Good hide and interesting walk. TFTC Left 1956 penny.
We thought this would be at the end of the walk! Lovely spot to watch the eagles soaring
Thanks heaps beautiful walk cache in good nic ....How many years old are the trees???

Stopped here for a bit of lunch while traveling through from Wiluna to Yannarie River today en route to Exmouth. I have previously spent a bit of time exploring this park - it's a great area. TFTC
Really nice gorge. We didn't have time to walk all the way up into it but what we saw looked great. TFTC
We'd just been to the cache at the top of Mt Augustus. Thought, while we're there, may as well get the only other cache for 100 km !
The start of the walk is amazing: tall, solid river gums, totally unexpected in this rather arid region.
Thanks for bringing us there !
PS: We also enjoyed our two nights in nearby Cobra Bangemall Inn. A great option for those who need a break from camping.

We did this one as a cool down walk after doing the big climb. Nice hide so close to the path - nobody is going to stumble over this one!!! Thanks LPN
