Thanks Margieh for placing this cache and for the ongoing maintenance. Find #10798 on 9/11/2024 at 10:35AMThree of us headed north to collect a few smileys. Our target was the BigQ and also collect anything else we found along the way. Signed logs as TOAD (Team Ozgrumpy Astro doineedthis). A great day out, Thanks to all the COs for their time and effort.
A trip up to do the Big Question Mark with OZGrumpy and Astro.A quick stop at the church to grab the details to find the multi, and this one of course.
Nice easy find with Sarge5556. Would have been a lovely church in its hey day. Tftc margieh.
**Found by Snap Happy** Out and about with GoodLook and TheDame as we headed to Yorke Peninsular for the night. Today we met up with CPWanderer, GizmosGang, Mogni, SirSpectre, JJS2, TK2, Plesiosaur22, TubbyBooBoo, JeffEddy, Martini989, Tweety2, TravelinBees, AllisterW, Northstar76, Superman22, LiB, Earthlight, Shandyk, SpiderMonkeysMum and FrogHoppin. Our caching name today was *"Siren Seekers"*. Logs were either stamped or signed with this group name or 'SS' depending on the size of the log and container. After the nearby early morning CITO, it was time to hit the road. The teams streamed out of the starting gates in search of this fabled marine creature with the head and upper body of a human being and the tail of a fish - They apparently loved music and often sang. Well, the only music today was from the radio in the car and the occasional 'found it' before making our way onto the next in the series and the few occasional and scattered caches along the way. Most caches were found quickly with a couple needing a longer search but all found. Caches were all in good condition unless otherwise stated. The thing I love about caching is the interesting stories, the extra interest and attention you take when traveling, the sight-seeing, the history, the interests of the individual COs, *the fantastic photo opportunities* and sometimes finding places that even some locals dont know about. I, like most cachers, look for more than a mint tin or a container under a bush. I appreciate the time that most COs take to construct a cache and write up a comprehensive listing and to create an interesting cache. **I love traveling this big land of ours.** I love taking the roads less travelled. I love the diversity of the land, the different scenes in the different seasons, the fresh air, the open plains, the lofty vistas and the magnificent waters. I even enjoy the longer scenic walks although I'm not as young and as fit as I used to be. I love the different coffee shops I find. I enjoy the times I cache with others but I usually cache on my own.The weather was lovely and a sunny but cool 19C . The vistas stunning and I particularly love the bright yellow fields of canola (especially if they had old buildings in them). The coffee shops and bakeries wonderful and the company fabulous. Many laughs ensued as we made our way North West.I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with Geocachers like this creating them and placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues. Thank you Margieh for highlighting this area and for providing this game piece for our enjoyment. Thanks for the history lesson too. Appreciate your efforts. - PMany thanks Margieh for the fun and laughs.**Warning**, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to learning new things and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. *Took:* Nothing*Left:* Nothing.Cache on! **#19517**
Yesterday I headed over to the Yorke Peninsula to find some caches of interest, mostly published since my last visit. After getting as far south as Pondolowie Bay in the Innes National Park, I headed north again and ended up at the event in the pub at Moonta for dinner before camping nearby. This morning it was off to the early CITO event at Paskerville, then I teamed up with FeatherWaite to complete the Big Question geoart puzzle series.Afterwards we went our separate ways and I headed back towards Adelaide in a round-a-bout way, chasing some more caches of interest and making the most of the good weather. All of the caches were found without any trouble and all were in good condition.I ended up not going all the way home, staying away for another night and camping at Hamley Bridge. Thanks Margieh for the cache.
Found after the Clean Up Paskeville Sports oval CITO. The siren of the sea geoart was found with a flash mob of cachers ( about 20 ), then we had a early lunch and moved on to do the Big Question mark series. This was one of the caches found while doing The Big Question mark series geoart. All logs signed either with SS or siren seekers. Found with Mogni and JJ52. This weekend it was off to do the Abandoned Railway Sidings/Stations series both in Port Wakefield and also the Abandoned Railway Sidings/Stations trail between Moonta and Kandia plus any other caches that we passed along the way, plus JJ52 was hosting a event in Moonta for her 20,000 cache. It was a busy Saturday day and night, since we went caching after the event in the dark as well. Sunday started with co-hosting a CITO event at Paskeville early in the morning then meeting up with about 20 other teams and doing the Siren Of The Sea geo art then a early lunch and then moving on to do the The Big Question geo art with the remaining teams that haven't already done it. Then it was time to drive home only stopping for a couple more caches. No snakes were sighted but i did get nearly a dozen bug/ant bites over 3 different gz's and stung by a bee in the chest. For the first time in a very, very, very long time i didn't need to replace any full log sheets ( nano log sheets don't count, do your own maintenance ). A very, very tiring weekend given the amount of km's either walked or pedaled but a good weekend away. Surprisingly the weather was a lot better than expected not to hot or cold given the thunder storms either this week.
It saddens me to see these old buildings fall to ruin. Thanks for the cache all is good here.
After a Podiast appointment in Port Pirie, I headed south for some geocaching. Aim was to finished Sad Fisher series and more of the Mail Road trail, also picking any on the way and in between. All caches were in good condition unless mention in the log. TFTC
Found it! This one is still safely hidden and in good condition even with no finders in the last 14 months! Interesting spot and cool to peek inside the ruins of the church. TFTC!
TFTC. Day 9 of honeymoon caching trip. Off on the road again!
Happy caching and safe travels!

Quick find here today on my way past, cache and contents are all good
Today I headed up to the copper coast for a day out to find a few caches yet to be found plus the new onslaught of puzzles up here. Managed to dodge the rain that was forecast and come away with just over 50 finds.
Thanks for the cache

Amazing ruin. Shame it's become like this.

After a wet and windy night, we are heading to Bute and surrounds with iluvtrekking picking up caches along route. It’s been a very long time since anyone’s been off to this church. Thanks Margieh
Today was a mighty fine day. A Jams crew day albeit depleted today it was just Allisterw, JJ52 and I so we logged using our individual caching names rather than as Jams.
We made a canny plan to head up the highway to Lochiel, Snowtown and then via Bute to Moonta. Lots of caches found including several ‘bastard’ nanos (eagle eyed Allister was the nano king today). Lots of historical buildings, a monster, the beach, a wedding, a bomb, tractors and many ‘welcome to’ signs. Lots of ‘bastard’ cacti but we seemed to win more of those than we lost which was a definite bonus. Only one dnf for the day.
70 caches visited and Allisterw top scored with 69 finds.
It was very chilly all day but no rain so no complaints.
Thanks to the many COs for contributing to our day out and big thanks to my pals for the laughs and Allí for driving
This Used2B is falling into a sad state of repair looks like it would have been magnificent in its hey day. TFTC

A fun day with JJ52 and Michells&hound going from Adelaide to Lochiel, Snowtown, Bute and Moonta finding caches along the way. My main role was to drive and find caches. TFTC Margieh
Today I felt like going out for some New Years Day caching. Specifically the roads between Kadina and Bute.
Made the find after a minute of walking around.
Love these old buildings, as a massive history nerd, it's in my blood.

So we were all set to fly to Dayboro for the Queensland Mega this weekend. There hadn't been a case in Qld for a quite a few weeks before we decided to book in early Feb. What are the chances of a case causing a lockdown and closing the border we thought..So when it all did happen just 4 days before we where due to leave, we were royally peed off. So we had to cancel and find somewhere else to spend Easter. Pt Broughton was a last minute choice so here we are at the Broughton Bay RV park. Headed out this morning to do a few local caches and have a look around. TFTC
Day 442 ( Friday 13th) of our trip. Caching along the way, in Bute today. Out this afternoon to get a few around Snowtown. TFTC

Found on a trip from home in the Adelaide Hills to Wool Bay on Yorke Peninsula, via the scenic route through the Hills to Gawler, out to Mallala and taking the back-roads to Balaklava, up to Snowtown, across to Bute and Paskeville and down the peninsula through Maitland and Minlaton, finding 32 caches for the day and clearing up a good portion on the map. Last cache for the day before heading South. Thanks for the cache Margieh!
This church was in such a lovely spot and would have been wonderful in its day. Thanks for bringing us to see it.
Wonder how long before this also becomes another 'Use to be a church micro #0000 [?].
TNLNSL.
Thanks again Margieh.

Woo hoo another Tuesday Caching adventure with the Puzzled Puzzlers. Today crew was me, Mrs. S.A. Sewer rats and Blackadders. Once again we headed north in search of some letter boxes, some solved puzzles, some Gone Fishn' and to rectify a couple of previous DNF's. And for once we didn't add any to the DNF list.
What a great old building. Just had to grab a photo. Then it was off to find the cache which I did very quickly. But as I was trying to extract the log Blackadders found another cache. The original cache in fact no more that 6 inches from where I found the replacement. Now there is only one and I will return the replacement to the ladies who put it there.
**Thanks Margieh for this cache. **

An Adder, Rat and a Starfish up north for a cold and very windy day of caching to get a few more unfound off our lists. Another challenge for the day was to seek unloved caches for an interstate challenge. This we believed had not been found for 2 years so well qualified for what was needed. Upon arrival at GZ the co ords were spot on however there were two caches!! One a mint tin throwdown with the last 3 finders names scrawled on the piece of paper. Lying next to this throw down mint tin was the original cache with all the other logs from previous years. Seems the last finders did not find the cache?
Technically and fairly then our team could claim an unloved find but that would be up to the owner. either way the Adder's are not bothered. Just a smiley for us.
Another abandoned building of history with obvious vandalism, another to be demolished or just fall down by itself looking at the large cracks in the wall.

A Rats ,a Starfish and a Blackadder decided to go caching.
The day was sunny, but the gale force wind.
Made it hard at times to get out of the car.
It time for us to go to church.
We arrived at GZ to find two caches.
A throw down(mint Tin) with three names)
The original cache was alongside of the throw down.
Love the architecture of these old buildings Tftc

A couple of days of geocaching with Aussie M & M. As normal we laughed, we tried hard not to hurt ourselves and only replaced or repaired about 6 geocaches. Apologies for the generic logs but it was a big couple of days.
Thanks to Margieh from mogni

Out caching for the day with Mark and mogni. We were aiming to cache our way to Kadina, which only took about 6 hours when it is only a 2 hour drive. There may have been a few detours for caches we just had to do. This one was one of those. Replaced this one with a micro. Same hint applies.
Thanks to Margieh

A quick and easy drive by as we cache our way around the area today. Such a shame to see buildings like this just left to rot. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache.
The long weekend presented the perfect opportunity for my wige (Tounga) and I to plan a quick get away.
So, we booked some accommodation in Moonta and decided to cache the upper Yorke Peninsula.
We had a great time, finding 129 geocaches in all.
Thanks for hinding your cache Margieh, we enjoyed it.
I apologise for the generic log.

Hi there Margieh.
We found your cache **"Off To Church We Go"** at 9:47:00 AM today.
This was our 13th find for the day and this makes our find count 12991.
Our cache run today was initially to finish off the Pyramid. After that our next goal was to log our 13,000th find - - - so we navigated from cache to cache to the one the GPS said was next closest etc. On the way home our mental arithmetic said that we were one short so we did what Bruce (of Liz & Bruce) would say - - "Just one more lovey!" & ended up with 22 finds & 2 DNFs at the end of the run.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** Container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

And .... yet another convenient spot to grab some mallee timber for me campfire at Tickera tonight (not much firewood available beachside)

This is another peice of history going to ruin.
I guess that is the way things happen.
I could just picture the locals attending in
years past.
Obviously it is now inhabited by lots of sheep.
The smell is rather overpowering but we cachers
really don't mind....

Today we are heading to the copper triangle to do some caches with earthlight and the x trailers, we managed around 120 caches over the 2 days we spent here and we saw some fantastic scenery along the way, being the geowifes early childhood stomping grounds i was treated to a lot of history about quite a few of the areas and how much things have changed over time, this is day 1 and as we head out in the x trailers geomobile we start crossing of a few that are on the to do list, this one was a nice quick find. Guess most of us don't go to church as much as we should!!!

Today was moving day, we are still travelling with iluvtrekking after major repairs at Toytota Maitland.
We moved the caravans to Bute today and then headed out around Kadina Geocaching and doing some shopping at Woolworths, BWS, and the local Butchers.
We found some great caches and some superb caches. All in all a great day. Wonder what tomorrow holds.

Heading back from a great couple of days caching in Whyalla we were taking our time coming down so as to be able to attend the "YP Cachers Get Together #3" event tonight and also grab some caches in areas we do not normally travel. This was a great old building even if it is showing some signs of needing some TLC. We were quite impress how clear the names of the original Trustees were on the wall as seen through the broken front window. The sky's began to open up so we did not stay here as long as we might have on a good day.
Thanks Margieh
