Several months ago I was in Maffra doing a few caches and although I had noticed this one was in need of maintenance I decided to go get the coordinates. Then I figured I'd go for the walk anyway as it was such a lovely day. Spotted the nibbled erasers, but thought I'd leave it un-logged until I'd be able to find an intact cache.
Yesterday I was browsing the few nearby caches I had yet to find and noticed this one had been back in action for a while now, so today after dropping off a work mate I went a-lookin. Now the cache is double tinned! That'd stop the little nibblers.
Thanks Jimmymaff for the cache and the pathtag within. Left a 50c coin in trade as that's all I had in my work uniform. Perhaps one day we'll meet and I'll give you one of my pathtags.

Nice walk around the Macalister river ! Cache is worse for wear , in urgent need of attention !
Found, container us in terrible condition. I think a rat nibbled the bottom and kid away. Logbook still intact.
I went to waypoint one earlier in the afternoon after collecting another nearby cache and I thought I knew what I was looking for. However, after many minutes of minute searching I came up empty. So I phoned a friend, mummy short legs, who told me where to look (incidentally I already had looked there multiple times but clearly I'm blind) and suddenly my eyes saw past the cobwebs and ta daaaah! After plugging in the coordinates, goggling at the prospect of a swim and reading the other logs and confirming that no swim was required, I went past a few other caches then made my way to waypoint 2. I was greeted by many other cobwebs on the way but enjoyed a beautiful stroll through the shady trees. At GZ there was only one spot it could be... unfortunately some animal had thought the same thing. The container is got and only a few munched erasers and a sorry looking snap lock bag were left (although the log is still in pretty good condition. I signed the log and tucked things away as well as possible. This one is going to need some TLC very soon. TFTC and the lovely walk.
Looked for about 30 mins and couldn't find it. I kept being directed opposite the river towards the bush
Decided to have a go at another Jimmymaff cache. This one took us to places we were unlikely to ever traverse as non locals. Thanks. Silkyie
Located the WP easy enough and when entered the new co-ords into my phone almost had to send the mrs home to get some scuba gear as the map was showing the spot to be in the river.
Luckily it wasnt quite in the water and cache was located without too much effort. TFTC

Today took me to Maffra again for just one sole patient's worth of work so I had to justify the trip as well as the hassle of taking a work experience student (aka my toddler) all the way to Maff-town. This justification must be collecting another couple of caches, right?
I parked right near the first waypoint of this one and for some reason, I'll say baby-brain, I decided to try out all the reflectors in the car park instead of following the gps to the real WP1. Not sure what came over me, but once I got into gear and walked to the obvious WP1, I spotted the co-ords first go and was off in that direction. A delightful walk on a brisk morning, interrupted by a slight detour to grab another cache, we continued on before we saw a point at which we could turn off to get closer to gz. Uh, that's not a pram-friendly zone so we retreated and I tried to talk myself into being happy with just the one cache. That didn't work, we hopped into the car and tried a different approach....U-turn.....another approach...which didn't look promising from a toddler-wrangling perspective.....U-turn to leave then I got determined. U-turn again, glad I'd brought the AWD car and parked in what looks to be perfect serial killer zone. The toddler and I scrabbled our way along a beaten bike trail which the little fellow delighted in, squealing "WEEEEE!" any time we descended a minor slope and came to a rather pretty view of the creek. We back-tracked towards 0m and I spotted a likely camo which revealed a nice little cache. TFTC Jimmymaff!

This one did my head in but teamed up with kyjaqune and got it! In the dark!!
Final coordinates are weird either its been muggled or I have wrong coords probably my fault damn will not give up
Another go at this one and another DNF. Went to first waypoint and searched everywhere to no avail. Please if you will check the first waypoint and check if its still there? Thanks.
Had to check the coords a number of times as the final place didn't look likely. On visiting GZ it all made sense! TFTC.
This one nearly had us stumped. Found with geo grandson as an after school activity. Cruising.
Thanks for this cache. I saw hidenseek had reappeared on my not completed list and was puzzled so came out to see what was going on. It was nice to have another cache to find in Maffra in this lovely area! TNLN. Indeed it was quite hidden away
It has been ages since we have been around this section of the Mac (apart from canoeing past). Never got to find the original cache location although we had a pretty good idea where it was. We were suppose to be geocaching over at Sale but the rain put a stop to that. Finally when it did stop we managed to find a couple of close ones for us that we keep meaning to do. Anyway this is one off the list! Took the TB Ellie, will be heading north soon so that will add some km's to her journey. Left dinasaur. TFTC Jimmymaff
First time i had been to that part of the river. Never even knew it was there. TFTC
Found this one again since it has been re-hidden. We would have never known this place existed, and it's awesome! Thanks heaps for bringing us out here Jimmy. It's nice to feel like a local in a town that isn't yours. Dropped off a TB. TFTC.
Checked on this hide today and all is well. Cache still tucked away in its hidey hole. Happy Hunting
looked all over, didn't find it. found the clue, went to the spot. Didn't find. I believe it was muggled because there has been lots of muggled there signing tags all over the spot and they might have muggled it. Will look again soon. Can you see if it's still there?
Spent the night out on the Avon River, but when I woke in the morning one of the car tyres was completely flat. Before attempting any more caches, I thought it best to get it fixed - just in case - so took the detour into Maffra, got the tyre fixed and found a few caches. The day was starting to get warm so it was nice there was some shade near WP1, and I probably should have guessed the location for GZ. Then not knowing the area I walked around the sanctuary instead of driving but it was a nice stroll to start the day.
Got a little lost on this one when I didn't realize there was in fact an easier way to get there, left a Canadian travel bug! Help him find his way back to Canada.
# 5478 Found on a much cooler morning trip around the area to Strath & Maff.
Nice and quiet and no muggles around while I was here.
Another great multi and area that I wouldn't have visited if not for this cache.
TN LN SL Thanks for the Cache Jimmymaff,

Whilst on a lovely walk with stinga4, stumbled across some clues that led me to the geocache. Nice little hiding spot and thanks for getting me involved in geocaching!.....TFTC
Yay - found it today while visiting Maffra on a caching run. The wetlands are a wonderful area to visit. Thanks for this multi JM - it gave me a chance to view most of this area on my walk between the initial co-ords and GZ. Really enjoyed this one. Cache find: 270. TFTC. SL
A lovely location at the given coords, a stunner of a location at GZ, and an interesting bike ride/walk betwen the two. GZ was alive with birds during my visit, it's a pity I couldn't spend more time here.
Thanks for an excellent cache Jimmymaff.

Took 2 goes to find this one. First time we couldn't locate the first hide to give us the 2nd set of coords. This time we found both hides quickly.
A lovely walk to GZ and a lovely area to explore.
Thanks Jimmymaff. TNLN

6th find for the afternoon with Smart Sassy Sirene. A nice arvo walk and pick up.
A nice spot to stop, thanking God that the mosquitoes here were more of a civilised size than they have been elsewhere lately

After the last DNF we were determined to find this one. Not so easy - went to the wrong carpark and had a bit of a walk. Spent a lot of time at the first WP and Ladybug had given up when I made a discovery! Off we headed to GZ, but which way! Took a bit of a punt and had a wonderful walk in the sunshine. Spent another long time searching for the cache and thought we had wasted "all of that time" when once again I made a discovery. The GPSr was not so kind this time and had led us slightly too far up the garden path. Very sneaky Mr Maff! Took Frederick the frog and will endeavour to "hand" him to a geocaching frog expert who would love to visit this area. Thanks Jimmymaff for the puzzle and walk in the park!
Replaced the clue at WP1 as it indeed had gone missing. On approaching GZ I wasn't confident of finding my container but was pleasantly surprised to see it tucked away safe. Took it home for a cleanup and dried things out (it was underwater for a day or two!!!) All set and ready for the next finder TB Froggy is waiting for a lift.
Looked and looked at WP 1 with no luck. Sat back enjoyed the view, but still no luck.
Made a slight detour on my way to Valley today.
Found the clues to take me to GZ.
Left the car parked and made the walk around to GZ.
Took me a bit to locate GZ as my GPSr was playing up. looked in all the wrong places, but presistance paid off.

Today was the third day of our excursion out of Tasmania touring from Melbourne to Canberra and return via Gippsland. We visited a number of towns and areas today between Sale and Bairnsdale and we were lucky enough to find some caches along the way. Despite being overcast at times and some very infrequent showers, we have had an excellent day. The information at WP1 was found quite quickly. We then had the opportunity to walk around part of the wetlands to GZ. It sarted to rain quite steadily for a while but the trees gave us some shelter. When near GZ we were able to make a quick find. TFTC Jimmymaff.
Found waypoint 1 and made my way to way point 2, as with previous log, I couldn't find the cache!
Great hide spot, great day for a walk. Tftc, took alien, left Thai elephant keyring
A great Xmas walk with mrs cacher and find with lots of water and birds around. No. 8 Jimmymaff cache. Still a few to go. TNLN TFTC.
Found the micro easily and decided to walk to the next wpt. We walked the wrong way at first then back tracked to the correct path. Once at GZ it was an easy find.
No swaps today

This was the third of the Maffra caches that was found in the company of RuralSlicker. We grabbed the final co-ordinates and headed there for a relatively quick find. Great area! Thanks for bringing me here, and thanks for the cache.
Sense of deja vu with another cache in another country town not too far away. Don't normally do multi-caches on holiday, but with the helpful advice of muzza, we were able to park very close to GZ and make the find. Another beautiful spot in Maffra worth a visit. Thanks Jimmymaff for bringing me here.
Had a hand on this one very quickly today. I am sure that was not there when we looked some time ago. Never mind, I can log it now! TFTC.
First multi cache, Thanks for the guidance and lift JM'. TFTH , Nice wetlands ! A few ducks swimming around...no bugs in cache.

Found waypoint 1 nice and easily (was very wet and needs re-printing). After trying the boardwalk we realised we could drive around. Got to where our compass told us but we could not find the cache.
Will try again very soon

Thanks for the introduction to these wet lands.
Over the Queen's Birthday Weekend Joe Possum and partner stayed at Maffra and attended the Briagolong Film Festival of Australian Films and fitted in some geocaching. Of the nine caches found all but one were placed by either Elmer_Stratty or Jimmymaff. Many thanks to these geocachers for providing a good selection and variety of caches in this area. Couldn't get a start on 25lbs of Hell.
Took smiley face ball and left a dinosaur.

Couldn't find this one and spend ages looking in every possibly spot, obviously I missed one tho. Will add this to my watch list to make and try again when someone else has confirmed if findable.

XC on business from NZ.. out for a run at dawn.. trying my luck with the locale caches.. not doing very well. Hmm another Jimmymaff cache.. I don't like my chances.. oooh a multi.. Maybe I will have a better chance.. ran to wpt 1.. glad of the rest.. found the wpt.. dialled up the final and it was a couple of kilometres away..?? oh I know.. the new GPSr had the wrong units set.. sorted that out.. ah not too far.. so off I trot..
Got to GZ.. now this shouldn't be hard... looked in all the likely places to no avail..!! spent my allocated 10 minutes and gave up.
Nice spot though.. a hint would have been nice for those that don't like spending all day looking...
Thanks anyway.

Found at 14:24 - sprung by a man and dog while filling in the log (didn't notice them coming) - he didn't seem too interested.
Found this one a little by accident. A "Littlegirlslost" moment and, we're not even blond!
Found after looking, looking, looking around GZ, then re read description a million times before finally locating the cache, bit prickly! TNLN TFTC
T & Little DragonFoot & Muggle Shaggs quite enjoyed doing this one on a sunny afternoon.

A little work required to find TNLN. Lovely walk. Amazing how you don't know your own backyard.
For the briefest of moments as I reached in and grabbed a cache container of sorts, I dared hope that Maffra had thrown a nice easy traditional cache my way
I quickly banished that thought and carefully opened the little cruicible of coordinates that I held.
A quick peek at the numbers showed the next waypoint or cache wasn't too far away and so off I trotted
I enjoyed the exercise and the views.
It wasn't long before the walking surface changed and a likely cache hiding spot came into view.
The area around GZ isn't too wet at the moment and so I was able to have an unmuddied search
After initial failure I finally began to believe the GPS and found the cache hiding a short distance from where I assumed it had been hiden [:o)]
TFTC,
not much birdlife to report today, no Latham's snipes observed

Thought I would grab this one on a leisurely Sunday afternoon walk. Found first waypoint and clue easily. New coords and after a short walk, in a roundabout way, found GZ and soon had cache in hand. Took Elvis TB Left Nothing. Thanks for the cache Jimmymaff.
Found the first WP without trouble and then started my walk. Took me some time but I enjoyed it. I nice hide set out well. TFTC.
We had given up on this cache and had walked away when GP pleaded that we go back and spend another ten minutes looking. GP found it straight away what a ledgend.
