Got to the cliff face not sure how to post picture without giving it away but still fun.
We are visiting from WA. Friends brought us yo see this beautiful place. We introduced them to geocaching and earthcache in particular. Tftc.
A planned weekend trip up to the sunshine coast to grab a few caches. I still need a few more to get me closer to completing that sunshine coast challenge. The trip worked in well for the Sunday morning CITO event in Coolum.
I meet up with Esmiley and we spent Saturday, day and night, caching areas that neither of us had been to before. We were not certain if the recent rains and floods would have effected any of the caches but we gave it a shot.
Today (Sunday) was just me caching the coast area. I started in Coolum with an early morning walk up Mt. Coolum, then a drive around the Coolum area to pick up some fun caches before the CITO and then I started working my way down the coast grabbing a few more along the way.
Thanks to all the CO’s for the caches, some I kept notes on, some were just great caches. I signed all logs and replaced as I found them.
Thanks for bringing me here it was a nice walk around and the boardwalk above gave a different view again. The recent storm damage has had a big impact on the area. There is less beach and bigger drop-offs on the dune faces.

Out for a stroll this morning to collect some caches and an AL that I should not do by bike. It was overcast when I set out and the forecast was for more rain. That did not eventuate, but it did warm up nicely.
Having not read the cache page, I arrived at high tide. This made some of the questions difficult to answer. I have messaged my best attempt to the CO.
It was quite spectacular here today with the tide crashing on the rocks. Thanks for bringing me here.

Luckily the tides were right when we visited and collected the information for your earthcache. Thanks for organising the EC.
Found this with Wombles and Nyssaflutterby , answers sent to co , thanks for bringing us to this place the pleasure was ours TFTC
Nyssaflutterby, Team nanabombana , Alphagalaxywolf and I were on the sunny coast for EC weekend and this was one of our Earth caches for the weekend.
Lots of muggles around but that doesn't matter for earth caches.
We discussed the questions and answers and Nyssaflutterby has sent them to the CO for our group. Thanks for placing this EC here in this beautiful location.

An overcast cool day, perfect for riding 65kms south. This was a lovely walk, pushing the touring bike up the boardwalk and looking at the artworks on the way. I stopped to contemplate the questions and saw 3 humpback whales breaching and showing the flukes as they dive.
Up yakking on the Sunny Coast & came to do this cache today, great learning opportunities geocaching.
Out and about with Muggle65 and Brislions today. And what a glorious day it was. The cache location was beautiful and we enjoyed looking at the features. Thank you for this great Earthcache
Out today with Green Geckos and Muggle65 for another geocaching trip. We left one vehicle Paynters Creek and one at the last cache of today. So nice long paddle. We found 23 caches. The breakdown was 19 traditional, earthcache and 3 mystery but can only claim two. So I only can claim 22 as finds. The challenge cache I don’t qualify yet. But close.
I do love doing earthcaches and learning new things. But hate doing the question.
We had a good day paddling with fun company. So lot’s jokes and laughter.
Sorry for the generic log

Today, my plan was to head north to the Sunshine Coast, and attend the Coolum Beach weeding CITO. Following the event, I managed to hike a few mountains in the area, starting with Mount Coolum ascending from west to east, followed by Emu Mountain for that virtual cache. I then spent the afternoon finding geocaches around the area and along the beach promenade, which was quite enjoyable, and continued south down to Maroochydore and Mooloolaba. A few Adventure Labs were completed during the day, including *Coolum Beach Sightseeing*, *Point to Point Promenade*, and *Sunshine Coast Coastal Pathway*.
Given the effort required to get down from the beach, I had actually planned on leaving this one for another day, however after parking and being so close, I decided to continue my walk down to this EarthCache. Hence, I scrambled down from nearby, and soon rocked hopped to GZ, where I was greeted with some pretty cool geology. I soon reviewed the outcrops and cliffs, and jotted down a few answers to the EarthCache questions asked. A great and informative EarthCache; Thanks cslyoda and cincol for the EarthCache placement and organisation.

Parked the car nearby and then headed over near the boardwalk and towards gz. Some very nice scenery around here along the beach, and interesting rock structures too. Gathered the answers to the questions and sent them off to the CO. Then it was back to the car and on with the drive. Found with Smudgeycat D. TFTC
Out for some AL's and enjoying the sunshine today and a great walk along the coast. Answers sent to the CO, TFTC
Recently we called by your EC, collected the information required & sent off.

Our first earthcache so weren't really sure what to do! A beautiful spot we've walked to many times. Hope the questions answered were OK considering we did them after the visit thanks for the learning curve
Tide was on the way out but no beach to speak of. Clambered down the rocks to GZ and had a look around. Thanks for the earthcache
After a lovely 'little walk' (27kms, in the growing heat - hmmmm, not crazy honest), Mrs SP, OBC and I took an afternoon break before venturing back out again this evening for "just a few more eh?", Suuuuure! And a promise of food. The evening was starting to happen, but the light was still good, and thankfully a little bit cooler now too. A lovely spot indeed.
Thanks cslyoda & cincol for bringing me to this location.

Today, Mrs Slow Puncture, Pprime and myself set out on a marathon walk. We had planned everything that was capable of being planned, however we could not plan the weather. The heat wave arrived, and while there was smiles and bravery at 5 am, the smiles were dissipating by midday. Eventually, we had to acknowledge that the sun was stronger than our willpower, and call it a day. Before then, we managed 27 kms, quite a few caches, lots of jokes and banter, and many amazing views of the ocean and the Noosa headlands.
After we had a break in the aircon, and some water, we headed out for some ALs and other caches. This was one of those caches . Arriving at GZ at sunset was truly beautiful.

Sent the geokids over the rocks to do this one on their own. Answers submitted, sunset selfies taken. Love strolling the shore when the skies are grey. Many thanks for the earthcache
After a lunch with a view at the surf club I walked over for a look at the layers here.

We had settled on visiting the Coolum surf club for lunch, the only problem with the area is finding a park. In the end we had to drive on a fair way and then make the hike back. Walking along the board walk I noticed there was an EarthCache at the bottom of the cliff. It seemed like a long walk back along the beach so I decided on the climb down.
Our daughters hung out at the top of the cliff while Mrs Woodyrothwell was in until she saw the climb down. Of course I found the easy path on the way back up. It was up to me to get the answers and I will admit I was struggling a bit.
Being colour blind makes it difficult to tell some colours apart but I'm sure I saw some tangerine, strawberry, lemon and lime. Actually I can't be sure I wasn't staring at a cocktail. I took some photos so I could quiz the kids later. A few rock pools had formed at the base and there were some keen crazies swimming. This is supposed to be winter right? Answers and guesses emailed. tftc

This was probably the highlight of my caching day with Wayn0.
I really loved this earthcache. The color of these rocks, the contrast, the textures, the lines. And there was the one that looked like a fossilised sea creature with long tentacles.
There's something about rocks that totally fascinated me. I got a real pleasure out of visiting this place.

Came to Coolum to find a couple caches, as we walking I noticed this cliff from the walk way, we comment on it and the vegetation being trimmed by the winds. Very unusual, visited with Wazza9 who has sent my answers to the CO. Thanks to cslyoda.

I'm out and about with Mrs Slow Puncture today, we have a few target caches to get on the lovely (but rainy) Sunshine Coast
This earthcache was one of our targets today and we raced around getting the information between rain showers. It was high tide when we visited so it was a little tricky to get close to GZ, but we saw some very interesting features and the view from the nearby lookout was amazing. I've sent in my answers to the CO, fingers crossed all is okay. TFTEC cslyoda & cincol

Thursday. Both RIO and myself visited this earthcache today and as it was high tide, walked along the pathway and scampered (where safe to do so) so that we could get a good view of GZ. Answers submitted to CO for consideration. Very interesting spot here and looks like a lot of geo activity has occurred. It was also a bit rainy today, but we were lucky enough to get a break in the weather, long enough to get a really good look at this area and get the required information (and lots of photos).
This was the 2nd of 12 caches found on today's trip.
Thanks ***cslyoda***, for showing us this place.

Visiting my parents after they’ve recently moved from Townsville.
I enjoyed the walk along the golden sand to GZ.

Over visiting from NZ for a couple of weeks and Tiki touring up the coast and around. Trying to find as many as possible up here before returning south.
Luckily the tide was out as we passed by here, so just had to stop and check out this earthcache. Got halfway along the beach and then lost my hat to the strong wind. By the time I had chased it down I was nearly back at the car..!! Once retrieved, I headed back along the beach and noted the interesting geologic features. Answers have been sent to CO TFTC

After a walk up Mt Coolum, Mrs OC and I had a nice morning coffee nearby before taking a nice walk along the beach to this EC. Lucky for us it was low tide making for an easy approach to GZ, and the morning was glorious and sunny.

Up visiting the Sunshine Coast for work and called in this afternoon as the sun had set. There was just enough light left to make my way down to GZ and observe the features of the area. Certainly an unusual colouring to the area. Thank you for providing the earth cache in this location.

We love to visit the sunshine coast ... mainly for swims and walks. Earth caches are so valuable to learn more about what has happened in the past. Thanks for giving us this opportunity.
As I was in Coolum today I decided to give this Earth cache a crack.
Arrived at GZ after a short stroll along the boardwalk and began answering the questions. Quite busy in this area today. After the questions were complete I sat down and took in the view

Wow , second attempt as was with Lavista sister from NZ last time and too much for her . What a great spot to venture to for my birthday morning! TFTEC. Must get here for a SUP sometime. High tide and some great waves too .
Tide was on its way in , we approached this from the South wanting to check out the area where 16 years ago our wedding photo's had been taken. A quick scramble along the base of the cliff was required to reach ground zero. Didn't know I still had mountain goat in me but apparently I do ! Followed a far fitter and spritely geodaughter to GZ were we sat and contemplated some answers to this earth cache to mark International Earth Cache day . Tide now much further in so had to scale the rock face using the naturally occuring hand and foot holds.

Having called Coolum home for 10 years it was nice to actually learn a bit about the local geology. In addition this should give us the Earth badge for Road Trip 15!
It was low tide and the most amount of sand I have ever seen on Coolum Beach, so there was less cliff visible than usual.

Earthcaches are great for making you think about the geology of the different areas as we quite often take the beautiful scenery for granted without really thinking about it.

Captain Terror, catscatscats22, Gaz'n'Kab and I were spending the weekend on the Sunshine Coast when it was time to find this geocache. We stood around in the wind and wrote down a few ideas of what the answers would be. There are a few spots kind of like this around home but I have never really looked and paid much attention to them compared to how much attention I gave this area today. As this cache is the closest earth cache to my home, after Kiki 97 and I attended the local colour run we decided to stop in here and have a look around. On approaching ground zero we noticed few other people having a bit of a look around, so we decided to hang back and wait to the coast was clear. Living so close I have been here many times but never stopped to have a good look around like we did today. After going over the questions and looking for the answers we stop for a while to take things in and also took a few photographs. Today was such a top day to be down here the tide was low and the weather was perfect.

Popped up to Coolum to visit the beach especially for earthcache day. Great rock arrangements- not sure if we've interpreted the questions correctly but sent answers off anyway.
Parked at Point Perry, walked along the boardwalk then down some steps , over grassy lookout and down the cliff to gz. Increased the terrain level somewhat - could have more safely approached from the beach.
E examined the rock pools while I pored over the rocks.

Found on a trip to Coolum with the family. Lost a lot of details about the finds, but had the list of these ones. Had a great 4 days in the area, not a huge number of caches found, but the ones that were found, were quality caches. Email sent , now logging find. Beautiful beach which I have been to many times before. Thanks cslyoda for the lesson .
What an interesting spot and once I had the chance to sit and research it was very interesting to reed information on the area as well.
Luckily the weather was fine and the tides were just perfect to wander down to GZ after visiting a few local physical caches. Glad I did this one.
Thanks cslyoda
