Another has been on my georadar forever, but I always seemed to run out of time on other walks. This hot public holiday called for a walk in the ranges and I planned around getting this and some other caches.Nice, quick, easy. Cool. TFTC
I had a couple of hours this morning after dropping my son at kinder in Montrose before my first meeting. I have had my eye on the caches in this section of the Dandenongs for a while and today was the day to collect a few. This was my first find. Container has survived the elements pretty well and log book was fine as well. Pushed away some creeping crawlies, signed and on to the next one.
Lovely hide found this with my hate harry we had a ride today and found it to wast time. TFTC
What a magnificent and unique view from up here. Parked at old coach then scaled to gz. Beautifully four butterflies flew out from the tree hollow and soon the logbook was in hand. tftc

*Cache find # 14098.*
While I was out and about, strolling thought the hills, I decided to go just that little bit further until I reached this one, it was a quick find in an obvious spot once I was there and now It was time to head back to the car.
**Thanks to barney123 for placing this cache.**

This was the first one in our wander through the Dandenongs today. Nice quick find and great view! TFTC
First find with Fitzelfleas for the day (I had grabbed one on my way to their place). We approached this from the other direction, and cache was soon signed. TFTC
Out with Crustyvarmint to pick up a couple of new caches in the area. We decided to do a car shuffle to avoid walking up the steep hills and left one car at the bottom of the firebreak and planned on leaving the other car close to our targeted caches. Due to fallen trees, the road was closed, so we headed up to the top which would result in a longer walk. The weather was perfect this morning, so a good long trek was not an issue.
As we were close to this cache which Crusty had previously found, we made the short detour so we could grab this one. As soon as Steve had his hands on the cache, a jogger, the first person we had come across so far, asked what we were doing. A brief explanation of geocaching and he was back to his run.
Beautiful area with those magnificent views. Thank you barney123 for bringing us to this great location.

I started working on qualifying for "The Helen D'Amico Challenge (a 365 day streak challenge)" (GC873NG) at the end of last year. So of course by working on that challenge I have slowly progressed filling in my "Finds by Found Date" calendar.
I have always had more find dates in my "Finds by Hidden Date" calendar than my "Finds by Found Date." However, after working on this challenge that was no longer the case. In order to balance the two I decided to try and focus on finding some caches that would close off some of the gaps I have in my "Finds by Hidden Date" calendar. So today I decided to come out to try and find this one, as I needed to find a cache hidden on the 22th of September!
Got off work late tonight again! Seems to be a pattern now, So the sun had completely set before I got a chance to scout out a possible cache to find today to keep my streak alive. After looking for a possible few hides this one seemed like a nice easy to try and find. I parked nearish the park entrance and enjoyed a nice short walk to GZ. The Dandenongs are always so peaceful at night. I loved walking along the path in the dark with a cool evening breeze.
Once I arrived at GZ, it was nice quick little find. Thanks for the fun tonight and TFTC.
Cache Maintenance Status:
The cache container was in good shape, and the logbook was clean and dry with plenty of room for future cache finders to sign.

Nice easy cache on a sunny winters day just up the road from home. We did a loop from the primary school. I found a new spot for a cache with an amazing view just a bit further along the track.
A quick and easy find.
However, the lid to the container is cracked, and will need replacing soon; but given its location it should stay rather dry for now.

Out on my own today clearing out some my in the Dandenongs. Parked and the gate nervously and started the short walk up. Neighbour on the right called out advising that it was a road that was used by the resident on the top and they may need to get out. Assured him I would only be 5mins and moved on. On the way back we had a lovely chat and was advised that the resident at the top regravelled the road as council and parks would not do it and they could not get the cars out. What a magnificent views this man has. Stopped and chatted for a long time taking the views in. Thanks for bringing here barney123. Cache is in excellent condition.
It was a sensational Autumn day to be out bike caching in my 5km zone.
This was a quick stop and find after a pretty steep climb on the gravel bike.

Caught up with RoamingHowie after work to find a handful of caches up in “them thar hills”.
A short stroll and my GPSr pointed down. But soon settled and up it was. Much easier to retrieve!

It was time to head home after an awesome few days in the North East region of Victoria. Making the slow journey home and maybe a spot of caching in the East.
We took the long drive to get close to the cache and walked in to find it. Initially sent to the wrong side of the path by the navigator (owing to me forgetting my phone in the car) it was soon found on the other side!
Thanks barney123 for the cache.

In the area this evening to do the Fire Break Adventure Lab and did a couple of traditionals as well. Not far off the track and a quick find. THanks to Scott and Jack for the cache.

Dad and boy headed to the hills for a quick walk and cache. Great little wander. Tftc
Nice to have been back after nearly 8 years. Still a good hide. Suggestions: Needs a proper pen and maybe some items for exchange
Just found by Grace (9), Leo (8), Harry (7), Sophie (6), Hudson (6), Remy (3) and Isaac (2).
Another saturday afternoon dedicated to picking up some more caches in the Ranges . It was extremely wet today but not too bad and it meant everything was looking a bit more lush after quite a long drought over summer. A quick find here, TFTC!
Great one with the kids. We didn’t bring any treasures to swap but enjoyed looking at them! Thanks

Despite it being Boxing Day, I had to work today. It felt a little cruel to be stuck under fluorescent lights all day while everyone else was free to sunshine and perfect blue skies.
Naturally, when I finished I was keen to get a taste of the conditions myself. And where better to enjoy a glorious summer's day than up in the shade of the Dandenongs?!
Indeed, there were a few Jasmer dates I had been eyeing off on this area and this cache was my first stop.
I managed to find a handy park in a snippet of room that was left next to a Mercedes saloon - you don't often this sorts of vehicles at bush trails. The walk to GZ was lovely, getting high above the world and far away from those fluorescent lights. It was really good for the soul.
I shared Yuletide greetings with my bestie, as it was still Christmas with her, and in a way we discovered this treasure together.
All is well here. It was a very enjoyable find, on a rather peaceful track, with amazing views thrown in.
It was just the tonic I needed.
Thanks to Scott and Jack (and Barney123).

Out for hike on the hill. This one was really close to my route so walked a little bit extra out of the way to find it. Found without problems. TFTC

I took Samuel, 5, and Luca, 2, geocaching for their first time. This was a good one for children. Easy to find and contains some interesting treasures. Samuel got very excited about geocaching
I originally found this cache with my Mum heymissjo, but now that I have my own account, I am logging. Thanks for the cache.
For the past few years I have cached as part of "team heymissjo", but now I am old enough to have my own account so logging the find. Thanks for the cache.
Wow what an awesome view!! We live locally but never been up this track. Found with hiccup3137 and kids! Also got trackable
Great walk along Singleton Track to get to this one - great views of the city skyline. TFTC. Dropped off one TB, retrieved others.
Another Sunday morning, and another training hike in preparation for Kili. Today it was the lovely Dandenong Ranges. It was a solo walk due to the others having commitments, so it was going to be a long walk of 23+kms all up, and more than 20 caches.
3rd cache of the day and we had to go the long way, as we came in from Glasgow along fireline and then backdown Singleton track. Nice quick find. TFTC.

Found it! Another 'cheated' grab by turning what should be a hike in into a drive by. Once again Mark is out on a off road driving course around the Dandenong Ranges National Park with a team of fire trucks. We made a stop here on our exit from the Park and whilst the gate was being unlocked Mark made an easy find. Log signed, its off to Ferny Creek for dinner before hitting the tracks above FTG after dark...TFTC...
Found it! First Geocache! Found while on a CFA complex 4x4 operations course and was driving in a strike team convoy through the park at night.
Quick find while out walking with friends. Cache in good condition & well camoed. TFTC
Just installed this app, I live on Marshall Terrace, and this was 3 minutes up the road. I have been walking past this spot for 10 years and noticed the tree, it's quite distinctive, but of course never new there was a something inside!!! Great work guys
Found while walking in the area on a sunny Sunday morning. Parked down the hill and walked up a mighty steep hill, I wasn't very well organised. Easy to spot where the cache is.
Out for a walk and stopped to let a car pass me on the track. Saw a tree across the road which I thought looked like the perfect place for a hide. Looked up nearby caches in the app and sure enough, there was a cache. Nice surprise on my walk TFTC
Lovely view
Thanks for the cache
P.s container is quite cracked and log book is full.
