I'm here so figured I'd see if I could find it in spite of a previous DNF and the cache archived. I went too high up the bank and found a couple of trees that fitted the hint ... big mistake there must been a wasp nest nearby and I was attacked, 2 stings on the back of the head, 1 on each arm, one on the belly and 1 on the leg, it's a good thing I'm not allergic to them although my hand swelled like over inflated surgical gloves. I high tailed it out of there and as I was escaping I spotted the cache lying on the ground yay it was worth it. Log is still in good nick, replaced in what appeared to be the location. Are these the trees? If so, then the cache is gone Sad A number of holes around their bases, I searched all very thoroughly.

A fishing weekend with an old friend from school who has recently returned home. We spent two nights in the d'Urville Hut due to the track and surrounds being very wet. According to reports the track was impassable with water at armpit height the day before we arrived. Today we walked as far as Bull Creek with our packs and setup camp there. I continued on after we got the tents up and enjoyed the walk alone to Morgans and back. Left the hunter gatherer doing his thing.

Fond memories of assisting with placing this cache last year but glad I had the gps to help locate it as it was much further from the hut than I remembered. The cache location that launched Mr B's new passion, or is that new obsession (I guess they are one and the same). We will see what this summer brings, more adventures I'm sure and hopefully we will share a few. TFTC. +/- coin

After having been out tramping for 4 days already, I wished you had left some of the original content in the jar Wink
Just joking - thanks for the cache.
Fairly easy find. The new hut location which was not on my topo map got me a bit confused...

bum paddled the lake with Aussie tramp buddie. We found this tucked in it's wee hole. Needs maintance,. the owner should go back !!! Nah, all good. We then went back and bivvied below the old Morgans hut site. Magic blue skies both days, wicked frost O/night. Bumped in to Ausssie just a few hours befor leaving home and he came on a whim. Other wise, this would be a comfortable 1 day paddle, jog, paddle outing. went for a bike ride while waiting for Aussie to get back to Rotoroa 2 hrs later. thanks for the extra distance.Heaps of hunters and fishermen around, although we would have had the hut to our selves. At least two parties heading up there today.
