Staying in Albany for a few days, this was another cache we decided to stop by.
Even with this cache offline, the DNF rate has us more than curious Wink. Could it stil be there we wondered? We weren’t about to drive past it without a little looky-see, that’s for sure Big Grin
We parked across the road, and i headed over solo while the fam stayed in the car with the geo-mutt.
I found the first decoy straight away after I initially thought i had jagged the cache within seconds Surprised. The second and third decoy were also found quite quickly, and it was then that i knew i was in for a battle. Janine joined me not long after that, and we joined forces.
Reading the clue, i noticed that the decoy mentioned was lying on the ground with a broken tether .. it could have been moved by anything from a wild animal to a bird to a force of nature Sad
We persisted, and before long (and unbelievably) i struck gold Big Grin[^]Big Grin
The contents were very damp and the container was housing quite a few small cetipedes, along with an assortment of other little critters .. but the log was there, and it was singable Smile

We left the area with quite a sense of achievement .. probably more so than with any cache we found on our holidays this time around, so have a FP [^]

TFTC tangowithcupcacke .. it lives Big Grin

Searched for ages and it's not any where to be found Sad searched around a 10m radius and only found disheveled decoys Sad

29-May-16
Perfectly named.
Out with the Sneaky Dragons who took us to this to see how good we were.
Got sucked in by the decoys but after plenty of searching all around finally found it.
Very well camouflaged, loved it.

Catching up with some late logs, therefore this unfortunately is going to be one of 'those logs'. I apologize in advance for the generic log, A combination of limited time and too many to log dictates that a generic log is best. I have enjoyed the hunt and being outdoors in this great country of ours, partaking in a pastime that I thoroughly enjoy. I usually head out by myself, but I thank those that have had the misfortune of my company in some of these ventures.

Thanks ~Tango~ for placing this cache.

27-May-16
This could have certainly been a mongrel but with an esperienced team it was thankfully discovered before too long.

Find #7389**

Day seven of my across the Nullarbor, then to Perth via Denmark trip began with a convoy of Victorians, (Alansee, Mica Paramedic and Maccamob) all heading for Albany. The weather wasn't fantastic, but it wasn't raining either, so that was a plus.

Not a bad effort at some decoy shenanigans here. Mr Maccamob found this almost where I was standing. Nice work.

**Thanks to tangowithcupcake for the cache. TNLN**

Found by Mary & David, in convoy with micaparamedic, Alansee and ahomburg (sometimes logged as M.A.A.M. or A.M.M.A.), at 1700. A good hide. Loved the decoys and red herrings in this wonderful vegetation. Our thanks to ~Tango~.

21-Apr-16
Loved it...very clever

04-Apr-16
Didn't have too long to look. Found a myriad of decoys (plus the one referenced in the hint), but it was not to be.

03-Apr-16
Ahahahah soent hours looking for this

02-Apr-16
Yay found it very sneaky!!!! So sneaky!!!

01-Apr-16
3rd time down here and first time we could have a real hard look but we finally found it read the hints and the recent logs to narrow down the search area. You definitely named it right it was definitely a mongrel to find but was clever and we enjoyed the challenge. Note pad was wet so put another note pad in left the original in there as well. TFTC Smile

26-Mar-16
Ok! Got it! This is the second time we visited this cache! We actually found it first time but thought it was another decoy! Doh!! Geomum channeled John McLean of Die Hard fame for a moment or two on discovery!! Pretty sure we saw some other 'frog hunters ' ! Love this cache!

16-Mar-16
Out for a day of geocaching around Albany before heading to Perth in the morning.

Last one for the day, after walking around the GZ swearing every time I picked up another red herring. A genius idea, looking back I can say I loved it. A fav from me

Time to tango Razz
I certainly wasn't leading in this cache dance Red Face
But as the moves played out,
I went from "There's no cache hidden here."
To more of a "Well there must be a cache hidden here." sort of mind Smile

And as the dance continued.
One minute I was looking here,
next looking there ..
.. the dance came to an end [:o]

Yep !! I trod on it Big Grin
Two left feet !! Red Face

Second time lucky for this one. This one had daughter number one going mad. The decoys were a bit scattered but have tried to clean them up. Smile

07-Jan-16
Oh wow. That was an awesome hide. Found the decoy above and then one other, then can I say Hubby stumbled across the cache. We had a hard time getting it open.

Awesome and ingenious hide.

TFTC

02-Jan-16
Quite a clever wee cache! Didn't take too long to find but we're impressed by the hiding spot! Thank you Smile

02-Jan-16
Great hide a little tricky at first but found it in the end

02-Jan-16
We have had this one on our watch list since our last visit to Albany so today as we were back visiting we were determined to claim our smilie here!! When we pulled up at GZ we recognised a car that we have seen previously on our travels this weekend! Jumpedin2it a caching team we briefly met yesterday had just arrived!! Lets search together! It didn't take too long today even though the GPS were still a bit unreliable under the tree cover Geo T came up with the goods! A well constructed cache and a clever idea! TFTC! We won't lose sleep over it any longer!

02-Jan-16
We had a busy day planned in Albany today but we still managed to fit in a few geocaches.

This was our last cache in Albany so were really looking forward to finding it. As we drove down the road there was a car parked right at GZ. We drove past and waited down the road until they left. It wasn't long before they were on their way.

We drove down and parked and made our way in to GZ. As we ducked into the bush we noticed a familiar car pull into the street. It was robroy_co who we had met yesterday on our trip to Albany from Perth. They had searched for this cache on their last visit to Albany but had come away empty-handed. We searched together for a while until they made the find before we did. A very good hide deserving of a favourite point from us. TNLNSL TFTC.

31-Dec-15
Finally!! This has been bugging ajjnr86 and I for a few months now. Decided to give it another shot this arvo and bingo! Brilliant hide, makes sense why we kept missing it. Hehe.

31-Dec-15
Well, my feet got warm and then hot, but for all the wrong reasons. Just could not get them to very hot. Heard no frogs, only birds

31-Dec-15
After work Candyfloss21 and I decided to do one last cache for the year, and so gave this one another crack. Now I see why we missed this in the dark, tricky little hide.

13-Nov-15
This time round this one was easy with the hint and the clean up job that has been done with all the leaf litter. Thank you

08-Nov-15
TFTC....Loved the decoys...didn't see any frogs!

Nearest pub found:- The Three Anchors

25-Oct-15
A great cache with all the decoys and an easy find this time after the owner seems to have been in a done a little house keeping! Thanks Tango, kids had a ball.

10-Oct-15
Great Hide! When we arrived at the location, it was very clear that the area had been infiltrated, decoy caches were laying all over the place open. But real cache was quickly in hand! Very clever! We collected all the strewn caches and re hid them about the area for the next cacher! TFTC

07-Oct-15
Tinglefrogs didnt have any luck with this one today. Easily found all the decoys but also found one small black tin empty and not labelled so fear that the cache may have been tampered with.

06-Oct-15
Paid a visit today and was once again amazed how it all changes as decoys move and trees fall down. Anyway, the cache is OK but have added a clue to help in case of too much vegetation shift.

02-Oct-15
I have to agree with the previous log. There were lots of decoys but all of them clearly in the open or destroyed. Not like last time I was here - even the decoys were hidden. Could the CO please check and maintain.

01-Oct-15
We found what looks like an empty cache container

27-Sep-15
Too good for us today!! We will pop it on our watch list and try again another time! Great idea, just a little bit devious! Hehe! Smile

30-Aug-15
We'll be back soon for round two!!!

06-Aug-15
Thanks tango for this cache found with xambo4u & pprass.

06-Aug-15
Out and about with caching daughter, pprass and &0thers for a touristy - caching morning. A quick short walk and thought it had been muggled. Again and again. Bingo third time lucky. Excellent hide. Thanks for the cache.

06-Aug-15
Found at 12:54 PM GAFF1 in the company of xambo4u and &others.
We were a tad apprehensive about this cache considering the possible angst that was written in the cache description. However we still ventured forth and within 2 seconds we found a container on the ground that we thought was the cache, or at least xambo4u did Razz, but on further investigation we realised what was going on here Wink After a few more attempts we came across a very wrongly placed final container - a very nicely placed container - but oh so wrong according to the guidelines. If your current reviewer knew about this cache it would be so archived Razz
Thanks ~Tango~.

26-Jul-15
Finally found the passage way to this one TFTC TFTH

16-Jul-15
Woohoo !!! Found it !!! Great hide, great idea. Found it pretty quick, as there are plenty of decoys around to keep you looking for ages

27-Jun-15
joined B12 on his Quest in the south west to pick up this cache. TFTH

26-Jun-15
TFTC! Day 3 of my mini South West trip. Started the day travelling to Bremer Bay to complete the new multi and the puzzle cache in town and grab a few others on the way there and back. Was a good drive, albeit a bit further than I imagined.,

On my return go Albany I chased down the remaining caches in the Orion series, culminating in two epic final caches and a few odd ones nearby.

Another great day on the road where I broke my previous record for both cache finds in a calendar month (even with 4 days to spare) and beat my record finds on a calendar year, with more than half the year to go!!

Thanks for the hide.

Have visited once before. Add a fav for construction.

22-Jun-15
This is a tricky little mongrel. Plenty of decoys to keep the most tenacious cacher occupied. Had a couple of tries recently to find it but after a bit of maintenance by the CO it was in hand today. Thanks Tango.

01-Jun-15
Hmmmmm, lots of decoys.

31-May-15
We came again today to attempt to put this to rest before returning to Geraldton tomorrow. GeoR had to twist GeoJ's arm and a promise of candy was mage to the GeoKiddies. This terrain has become horribly familiar and has featured in recent dreams (read : nightmares) Our GZ puts us at the trunk of a fallen tree which is not very close to the decoys, there was also a slender branch about 10 metres away that showed evidence of having had a string/rope tied around it; niether may have anything to do with the cache but we have reached the point of anything being a possiblity. We spent another 45 minutes here and still came up with nothing. Sadly we are down to our last few hours in Albany and this one will remain, for us, a DNF, unless we get a really good hint from someone......... Thanks ~Tango~

29-May-15
Have just returned for another hunt after failure earlier today. We left the geoKids and gave it 45 minutes but no luck. We still have Saturday and Sunday to try ..........

29-May-15
We have found the decoys and now regret making plans to go out for morning tea! We will be here for 2 more days and will return!

09-May-15
$@$#%$%#^$, this is our second visit and for the life of us we are unable to locate this cache. We have done nearly everything apart from dig up the area. I will admit that there were several (well lots really) of swear words for a mister T (yes you know who you are). We might have to declare defeat and ask for help on this one. Grrrr Very Happy
Any body got a backhoe that we can borrow please LOL.

06-May-15
Did not find

15-Mar-15
[Ok, we can finally put this to rest, however not without a serious hint from a fellow cacher. And even then it took us two further goes to un-earth the cache] that was so far below natural litter, that a simple stick was not enough to dig it up. It took a hay fork to locate it down below. [Unfortunately the log looked a bit worse for wear too (think it got weeviled and damp) so could do with some attention from the co Smile
Gee, it is good to put a smiley on the map here and finally get some restful sleep again! TFTC Mongrel - um, Tango...]

15-Jan-15
We found plenty of decoys - maybe 9 in total - and inspected them pretty closely but no actual cache.

14-Jan-15
Did not find but just loved the decoys. Not sure if recent fire break slashing has disturb this cache. Will be back to look again

02-Jan-15
I really hope it was left how it was supposed to be. So many decoys it got beyond funny. I will have to be back. No find for this one.

28-Dec-14
What a cracker! Team Tam,Ken&Cat joined us. TFTH!

01-Nov-14
Great hide!!!!

07-Oct-14
Day two in Albany and we conquered Mt Melville with a couple of great walks on a beautiful day. After lunch we explored at bit of Middleton Beach and Emu Point grabbing a couple of solved puzzles along the way. Another great day exploring Albany with 19 caches as a bonus.

With 17 favourite (at the time) we decided this was a must do, however after decoy # 8 we were wondering if we would ever find the real thing. However perseverance by Mrs K find found what we were looking for and after a final twist we had a log book to sign. Big Grin.

Thanks for the cache tangowithcupcake [^] - a favourite point for an inventive cache and some good fun eliminating decoys.

27-Sep-14
Hate to disappoint all the caching teams that couldn't find this one, but it is still there.

I have to confess that I was in the company of the CO when I found it. He made me stay in the car, out of sight of gz while he ducked in to make sure it was in fact still there. Then I got to take a look myself. Found not only the cache but numerous decoys too - nasty sense of humour the CO has. Don't know how many friends he has left after placing this one, lol.

Excellent cache hide though. Can see why it's got of many favourite points. Thanks tangowithcupcake

19-Sep-14
Not having much luck today but thanks any way

04-Sep-14
Hmm too many mozzies Sad looked all over but think I got freaked out by all the noises Razz good luck to others

27-Jun-14
2 nd visit this time no other people around found it

04-May-14
Did a bit of pruning and spraying of Roundup to combat the Sydney wattle invasion. Thanks to the other local teams for your help in getting it back into action

01-Mar-14
Our 3rd DNF today.
[red]We spent quite some time here with The Drovers at around 11:40:00 AM, but even with four pairs of eyes we couldn't locate the cache.
[/red]Ian and Penny

27-Feb-14
Serious attack by Mother Nature. Will try and fix

Had us stumped once again. We tried back in April last year while visiting Albany with no success, today we thought we would try again with fresh eyes and hopefully come up with the goods. Well....... yet again we must have found every single decoy and although we searched high and low and in between the cache was not to be found by us today. Sad Maybe next visit will be third time lucky.

14-Dec-13
Mmmmmmmm. Comment dit-on en français "sorry but I think you've found one of the many decoys"? The cache certainly has a log book. Pas de probleme. No worries - log a find. Et...... Bienvenu a Albany

13-Dec-13
I found the cache but I think it is only a part of it because it's write on it...I put a piece of paper as a logbook...maybe, it will be a good idea to check it..TFC OUps, it's seem that I made a mistake..I was not use with Decoy..My english is not very good...next time..

Cool Loved all the decoys (we found 11) and the sneaky cache once we found it one of our favourites TFTC.

Another great TWC cache. Thanks!

04-Oct-13
Hilarious!! We had so much fun finding this cache. It did not take too long, so we decided to find all the others. It really was a fitting cache to find as my 100th and it also deserves a big favourite from me. Thanks tangowithcupcake for a really unique cache, and I'm sure Ralph had some fun helping out tooBig Grin

04-Oct-13
Really enjoyed finding all the caches. Think I found most of them. Great place for kids to have fun. TFTC

30-Sep-13
Yay!

15-Sep-13
After running into TWC and Ralph this morning at another cache we got talking about this one.. After getting conformation the cache was findable I headed off with the kids..
Now as per my other logs I know this place well, maybe just a little too well Wink
Arrived at GZ and located the cache within minutes! And I must say I absolutely love this !! Genius! And I must agree with TWC about taking the time to put everything back as it was found because this is the most enjoyable and humorous cache I've found!!

Thanks got the cache TWC and Ralph Smile

Defiantly a favourite added!!

14-Sep-13
It's always a mongrel when you can't find your own cache. However all is now well again. Found too once again that finders had not put the cache back properly which kind of spoils it for everyone. Would appreciate if you could spend that 1.5 seconds just putting it back in place as it was meant to be.

09-Sep-13
Another hour spend here today.. Did find a decoy I didn't find previously but the storm made the area very different to last time I looked.. Anyway.. Pretty sure I have lost my sense of humour now!! Wink

16-Aug-13
Tried to find this last Saturday with my 4 geokids.. Pretty sure I lost my sense of humour!! Or almost anyway! I'll be back!

13-Jul-13
