What a great day today! Drove from Elaine Bay to French Pass. Enjoying the views and the beautiful weather and of course picking up some caches along the way No idea what the hint refers to. Was there a sign here before? I only see a very new warning sign for the corner. And a power pole. Some rocks there but no cache. Did not spend very long here though.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Today steffixx and me spent another wonderful day here in NZ while driving from Okiwi Bay to French Pass and back. We parked the car close to the coordinates, enjoyed the view, took some photos and looked for the cache. We found it and wrote our names into the logbook.Yippie - another found in New Zealand!! A big thank you to Kiwi_Explorer for leading us here and showing this beautiful place and of course also for maintaining this cache here on site!Best wishes from the North Sea, Germany, from Cuxine . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . ________________oooooooo____________oooooooooooooo_________oooooooooooooooooo________oooooooooooooooooooo_______oooooooooooooooooooo____oooooo_______oooooooooooooooooooo___ooo__ooo_______oooooooooooooooooooo__oooo____oo________oooooooooooooooooooooooo_________oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo_oooo_______oooooooooooooooooo________ooooo___ooooooooooooooooooooooo_________oo_ooo____oooooooooooooooooooooooooo_____oooooooo__ooo_oooooo__________oo___oooo_______ooo__ooo_ooo______oooo__ooo_______oooo___ooo__ooo___ooooo___ooo_____ooo___ooo____oo____ooo____oooooo__ooo____ooooooo____________ooo_____ooooo____ooo

Yay! TFTC! I came all the way from Vancouver BC Canada to find this cache Thanks for being part of the Adventure!
Quick park and grab on my way into French Pass for a nosy. A perfect day out this side of the sounds and the French Pass shop owners clearly thought so too; they had their gone fishing sign posted out front so no ice blocks for us. TFTC!
Good views of the pass from here and now the descent to the end of the road. TFTC
Find easily enough, but was lucky it didn’t disappear down a deep and unrecoverable hole. The structure has moved somewhat and opened up a chasm that the container was perched over the top of. I hope you don’t mind that I shifted it to safer ground on the other side. TFTC
3 January 2022 18:01. Failed to spot the glaring obvious on the way out, rectified that on the way back. Tipping water out of the container, I was grateful for the waterproof paper. TFTC
Heading to French Pass finally. Quick stop at Anaru View along our journey. Replaced wet disintergrating log here with Temp RITR log. Cheers
Bulwer and French Pass are on my radar to explore today, with the Seagnoid and Toby along for the ride. Left home at 6am and finally crawled back home at 9.30 having dinner at Okiwi Bay before leaving the sounds. Great views on a beautiful clear day with little wind. Lots of driving and lots of maintenance on this trip.

#7779. Day 2 of my Marlborough geocaching adventure. Have come south for a work meeting but arrived early to do a bit of exploring in a rental car. Today the plan is to drive out to Bulwer and French Pass. Little did I realise at this early stage just how far away those roads were from civilisation and the rather nerve-wracking drives on gravel roads with certain death plunges if you lost concentration and slid off the edge of the road with no protective barrier. Decided to skip most caches on the way out and pick up more on the way back if I had time. Replaced any wet or tatty log sheets with fresh waterproof paper if needed. Mission accomplished at Bulwer and heading back slowly to civilisation via French Pass. Stopped here to pick up the cache.
So many great views along this road. Stopped to do the cache. Nice easy one. Put in new logsheet as existing one was soaked. Signed the logbook and returned the cache where found. Thanks Kiwi_Explorer for the cache. The wind has dropped off now and the sun is shining brightly so its actually rather pleasant travelling along this dusty road.
Happy palindrome day! 02-02-2020 is the first global palindrome date since 11-11-1111 (909 years ago).

[#1289 | 16:30] A quick drive-in find. The cache is in bad condition, just wet piece of paper. Ungortunately I don't have anything to protect it from the water.
Thanks & greetings from the Czechs!
Thanks & greetings from the Czechs!
A quick find on a blustery westerly. Could not sign log as it was a soggy mess. Beautiful views
Instant find in the most obvious spot today. Log was a mushy pulp so replaced with waterproof log to save the CO the long trip out to replace it .
Thanks very very much to Jodanz for adding a new dry log to this cache. Much appreciated. Merry Christmas to all. KE
A needs maintenance log on a cache in the middle of no where is not very useful. If the next finder could please drop a dry piece of paper into this cache that would be greatly appreciated and save us a long drive. But otherwise we will do maintenance sometime in the new year. Cheers KE
its so peaceful pausing on the drive out to French pass - quite a surprise to find so many people at the end of the road.
Good find great view.
Good find great view.
The view here is indeed stunning - for the passengers and not the driver!
A quick find on the way out from French Pass. All in good order, signed log and replaced as found. Thanks for the cache.

We are camping at Okiwi bay for 2 nights. We are going to French pass for the day in between (today). Got this one On the back from French Pass. It was very cold and there was a cold wind on the return trip. We were driving through the clouds. We still had a view at this point. Very nice one too. TFTC.
This long weekend Jojo and I headed off to French Pass for a spot of caching and camping. 3 days, great weather and some stunning views. Sorry for the cut and past bit, and thanks to all cache owners.
Day two: After a pretty rough night's sleep, we couldn't really wait to get on the track. Seems the campsite had been overbooked so our tent was on a car park with a slight slope that soon became the talking point with our friendly neighbours. That and us being a sleeping bag short. So we got prepped early knowing that Capperz was going to meet us at 10.00am, and being a good forces bloke he won't be late, which of course, he wasn't.
The target today was the road to Bulwer and a few caches Capperz had unfinished business with around French Pass, then for Jojo and I an afternoon tea with her auntie at Elsie Bay, a catch up on the cricket and a hoover up of any caches back to FP. And overall it was a successful day - all targeted caches found, a cricket win over Oz (as well as Forest over Villa - sorry Capperz!) and some good chat on the trip and back at camp.
Thanks guys, quick find.

The plan for today was to make the most of the few days off work that have been mandated and also make my way (finally) over to French Pass area. I'd always thought it was much further to the end of the road but after consulting road signs and Uncle Google it turns out it's nice and accessible so a plan was hatched, again, for some caching. Also thrown in the mix was some camping at the DOC site in French Pass and a kayak strapped to the roof for some sea paddling and general relaxing along with daughter.
What wasn't planned was the weather on New Years Day. Howling winds and gusts transposed themselves on the higher elevation on the way to French Pass and a stop for a cache, and check on the kayak's security resulted in four cars-worth of people struggling in the howling wind to tie it back onto the roof-bars securely enough to continue onwards. We ended up arriving at the campsite, after a few caches, looking at the spot and weather options and beating a retreat back to the comfort of home. I gave up my sole camp-site to some visiting tourists who had no options, so a good deed of sorts too. The weather over the tops was thick cloud/mist and visibility was around 50 metres for a lot of the journey, so sadly not the great views I was hoping for. Anyway, I know the roads a bit better now, and how to attach a kayak better! so will be back for another go another time, including the road to/from Bulwer.
Heading cautiously home again, thick fog up here again. Cache located and replaced
For me today - Anaru No view. Will need to try again next time up this way for the view. Ccahe found and replaced same

It was blowing a gale by the time we got here so thankfully it was a quick find tftc
Camping at French Pass with my son. We stopped for this one on the way out. TFTC!
A quick find on the way to French Pass. No views today as the mist was surrounding the hills and couldn't see further than 50m away. Thanks for the cache.
We planned to have our lunch at French Pass, and decided to drive past a few caches as our tummies were rumbling. But this looked like one that was better done while travelling north, so stopped and looked for it. It also gave us an opportunity to have our first view of the tide flowing through the narrow pass this great vantage point.
Fantastic viewpoint indeed. TFTC.

[green] Hired a car to tour the far north. Amazing views and scary lopes down to certain death. What a fantastic road!
Are these fantastic views getting passe yet? Nope! Photo to upload tomorrow.

Enjoyed the views thoroughly as we headed out to French Pass. Surprisingly, the countryside here is not ALL that different from Sonoma and Mendocino Counties north of San Francisco. Made us feel right 't home. TFTC. (Oh, and: this was my 1,500th cache! Nice milestone, a day before my birthday )
#1493 @1245 hours, bright and sunny, though quite breezy.
Out today to deliver granddaughter and boyfriend to d’Urville Island where they are going to stay for a month, lucky ones [:d]. So a great opportunity to gather up a cache or two on the way and to stop and admire the various views at the same time. Thanks Kiwi Explorer for giving us a reason to stop at this place instead of hurrying on to our destination.

Magnificent views today. The white rapids in the pass were very clear in the distance. Further along the road it was quite spectacular to see the snow on the mountains across the sounds, land and bay - very special. TFTc #6170
Apologies for the late logging!
Another one where Annie had commented 'there's probably a cache behind that rock' on the way out.
Making best use of the miserly remains of cell coverage we had on the way back indicated that there was indeed. Annie made the quick dash while PB was pulled over as tight as could get.

Not much of a view when i got here. Fog came in for only a few minutes and i could only just make out the shoreline while signing the log TFTC

A quick find and a spectacular view in perfect weather. The tide was in full flow through French Pass, pity some of that energy couldn't be made use of! Signed log, TFTC
Great spot. Great views. Great history. Easy find on a glorious day...only sorry our pocket query seems to have stopped short here..must be more caches along the route!
Strange - hot, sunny day, but low cloud totally hiding the sea, whilst land bathed in sunshine. Glad we came last year and saw the full, wonderful view. Dropped of Henry, to start his adventures, though looking at the log, he might be in for a bit of a wait. Still, with such a view, not a bad place to enjoy free accommodation.
Quick easy drive-by on caching trip to French Pass. It's a wonder anything can stand up around here with the strength of the wind today! TFTC.
On our way to French Pass for the day to show Nic a bit of the South Island,Gorgeous day for it.She was out of the car almost before it stopped and had it in no time.TFTC
5.05pm. Blowing a gale. Struggled to get out of the car and locate cache. Got out the log book and a sudden even stronger gust blew the cache container away. Last seen moving at a fair rate of knots down the hillside. Way too far down to go and get it - and still moving anyway. Sorry about that. Mrs JF came up with a tupperware tumbler with lid (hopefully waterproof) and we replaced the cache. Still got original logbook.
Left a pathtag.

The day began rainy and cloudy but nevertheless I started a tour for geocaching this morning. From Nelson to the French Pass and up to Haveloc the way led me. Along there were a lot of great caches showing nice places and making this day a lot of fun with wet feet. Thanks to all owners for making this experience possible!

Today was earmarked to come out this way to complete requirements for BGSc 301 and to pick up the other caches in the area. It was certainly a long drive but very enjoyable although I think I had the better option being a passenger and able to admire the views while Hazedarus had to concentrate on driving. We are still wondering if the only other vehicle we saw on the trip in to Bulwer was another cacher, both of us having decided immediately it wasn't a local because the vehicle was too clean! We were therefore not surprised to note that 3 of the 4 caches we found out there had also been signed earlier this morning. We stopped to 'do' this cache on our way to French Pass. While I was retrieving it to sign Hazedarus spotted a sheep in difficulties a short distance below, so off down the hill he went while I retreated to the car out of the wind to await his return to sign the log so the cache could be tucked away again. A superb view from here! Thank you for placing this cache here.
Up at the crack of dawn for an expedition caching with Holymu. I can't say how pleased I am to have finally had an excuse to head for the end of the road. Bright sun and slight breeze we thought but cutting through multiple layers with ferocity when we ventured in exposed places like this one. At GZ coords proved spot on and the cache was soon in hand and log signed. With a sheep tangled in the fence the old farming instincts kicked in again and hopefully a life was saved. It was a good caching day that brought us to places that many people only dream of. TFTC
Quick drive by and photo stop on our way back from a morning seal swim at French Pass.
What a spectacular view of French Pass and D'Urville Island from GZ. Dropped off The Travel Bug Dog Tag TB. Thanks for the cache.
What an awesome view.
Picked up CR3TXD "Look Twice For Bikes" TB. Will move this to the North Island next week. TFTC

Found while on the way home from a job on D'Urville. Forgot to register the find at the time. TFTC
Taking a lovely drive up to French Pass on a sunny winters day. Nice to see calm water after the last few days. Great spot had to time the retrieval with muggles herding stock in the surrounding area.
A lovely sunny calm winters day for nice drive to do caching and sight seeing great views thanks for the cache

Heh. The man who FTFed it also STFed it. Weird. Easy find. I don't say that normally, but really... easy find, for real! TFTC
the only one that it rained , so was glad it is close. Another empty log, no view due to the fog. Had to dodge a crazy group of runners! thanks
Not a first to find or first to log. More of a retrospective first to check Cache was placed during my first visit to this great area with Kiwi Explorer. TFTC, Biggles.
