JMelb ordered something from a Warehouse in Williamstown North and decided to do Pick-Up so we could also do some caching over here lol So after picking it up, this was the first cache for the day and was found once the GPS settled and decided where GZ was. Saw a few fisher people along the way to GZTFTC tackle_head - GJMMelb

*12 Oct 2024, Found @2:33PM, Find # 3949.*A nice day to take the bike on the train and head across to the otherside of the city. This one had me scratching my head for a bit but then after changing my viewing angle there it was. **Thanks to tackle_head for placing this cache.**
Had a caching day with Jascat. Took our bikes on the train and headed north to Newport. From there we made our way to the Newport Lakes Reserve, then to the foreshore. Very clever hide. TFTC
Back today to try to turn some frowns into smiles, thank you tackle head for getting me out again. A great hide.Greytiger
Out testing a new electric bike and hadn't put much thought into it , so ended up here after not finding it the first time aroundBut left the pen home so sent picture to co as proofThanks for this cach as I was able to redeem a frown for a smile
Out hunting some caches on the public holiday.Very sneaky - I waked past it 3 times, then looked in the wrong spot.Read the hint, had a think about it & cache was in hand.TFTC
No luck with this one today. Think I know what Im hunting for but couldnt find it today
Great cashe. Took my friend who had never been before and they found it. Well done
30 December 2023 @ 12:16 pmCaching buddy:Muggle Partner Out car hunting and decided to take time out to look for this previous dnf.last time I was searching gps had me looking in the wrong spot but this time I went to the right side and came across this clever hide rather quick. Great hide.Thank you tackle_head for placing and maintaining this cache. I've enjoyed finding it.Tftc
Great hide and great cache, we're about to give up but at the last minute managed to find it!
After 2 DNFs here in July (despite lengthy searches) I had this one off my radar. But Muddy was determined like a pitbull - having found it originally many years ago and then sharing in my recent DNF misery he was not going to let this one go.
And indeed he persisted until he found it a second time, and then endured my third search. I knew that today this would not end in a DNF, as I had a PAF on hand. Around GZ Muddy guided me in the relevant direction and I saw it there staring back at me. How could I have missed it previously? I am sure (I think?) I had searched this exact location but did not see this hiding place. It also explains how the previous finder logged "quick easy find" - sometimes the planets just align. Like today. It's one of those that once you've seen it, you cannot unsee it.
The dictionary says "hit a clinker" is to disagree, dissent, bicker, object, oppose, discord, bump heads. And the antonym is to agree, make peace, concur, harmonize.
And so it turns out that we went from hitting a clinker to "Ahhh, the serenity!"
Thanks, tackle_head - this is another spot along the foreshore where I no longer have a blue frowning face tormenting me .

This July caching streak (for a souvenir) is proving more like a DNF streak for me - 3 days in a row now...
After a DNF here 2 days ago it was time to settle the score. Well, the odds didn't work out too well - the score increased and not in my favour.
Even with a hint from the CO and with some searching assistance from Muddy we again had to admit defeat after twenty minutes. I wouldn't say the cache is missing, as we couldn't even find the likely or possible hiding location that matched our intel.
And I didn't see any clinker bricks near GZ - just a mudbrick .
Thanks anyway, tackle_head.
Fortunately I had just found a cache earlier at Truganina Park so the day's find was already taken care of.

I'm still chasing souvenirs, and attempting a 28-day caching streak for the current Wheel-of-Challenges souvenir campaign during this July 2023. Still have plenty of local caches to find, and still somehow maintaining the mojo and the momentum.
Today's find-a-cache expedition was a 21km cycle along the Foreshore Trail. It was meant to be a lot shorter but I discovered after a few kilometres that I had left my GPSr (my phone!) at home. So back it was. Plus my first stop was a DNF here so I had to cycle further along into Williamstown.
Cycling along this stretch, which I hadn't done for quite a while, took me back to covid lockdowns when I cycled here almost daily as it was within my 5km leash. At least one good thing about it is that I was paradoxically a lot fitter at the time!
From the logs and hint I had an idea of what I was looking for at GZ but unfortunately even a 40-minute search (yeah, I was determined!) yielded no cache.
When I look at the geo-map I now have a string of pretty blue dots along this foreshore. Back to caching school for me.

How long does it take to avenge a DNF?
That depends on your level of commitment.
Finally! I have returned.

Result: 2430 days
It is 2430 days from the start date to the end date, end date included.
Or 6 years, 7 months, 25 days including the end date.
Or 79 months, 25 days including the end date.
*A beautiful day beside the Kororoit Creek. The occasional shower and thunderstorm blowing through earlier. It even hailed in Melton! Nothing but blue skies and a few white clouds now.*
Only a couple of cyclists here today but much has changed in our world over the past 2,430 days.
E-bikes are all the rage now. Pedalling is almost a lost art. (Sadly)
When bicycles pass by, the rider has time to see what we are up to.
When these electric conveyances whiz by the slipstream is almost enough to muck your hair up!
I searched back over old ground before reading a couple of logs.
I was determined to find this without a PAF. Find it I did!
There were crabs scuttling beneath the rocks every time I looked down at them but only a nest of ants at GZ. [^]
Not having my caching bag with me I returned to the Geo-Vehicle and rummaged around until I found an old windscreen wiper blade. I soon MacGyvered a suitable extraction tool and proceeded to return to the hide. Dodging a pair of recalcitrant riders as I walked along the shared use trail.
The cache was soon retrieved, the ants evicted and the log stamped.
I walked away with my head held high and a huge smile upon my face.

Found after going back and forth over the path. I'm not sure I would have found it if Bont for the hint. Great hide TFTC TAD
Clever hide...nice one - thanks for the cache and good that it wasn't in a shady spot for us...we need defrosting after the windy coastal park very quiet today too!
Decided to go for a casual bike ride with my son pulled out the phone and decided to check for any cases in the area and noticed there was one in this vicinity took us about five minutes to find it the hint was very let me say gave it away but a little bit of fun heading off to the next one the date is 7 March 2022
Another lovely sunday ride on the pushies. A wee bit longer than past weeks heading into the city. A total of close to 42kms all up and grabbing a few caches along the way.
We had some sections of the trail to ourselves and others it was peak hour dodging people, prams, kids and dogs.
Not sure where this one is hiding, had a bit of a look and then moved on.

Tricky little sucker. Had me looking on one side for a very long time before I considered the other. Even then, difficult find. TFTC!
Looked on both sides of path multiple times before finding this one. Unsure if camo has come off. Was covered in ants so weren’t able to touch it or log but placed it back in its spot.
Beautiful spot, lived here since January and first seeing any of this area. Thanks!

You’re right about the fishing village being a little hidden gem! This area is so peaceful and serene. TFTC! Quick find at GZ

Annoying Tarbit and I arranged an afternoon of caching and ended up around Williamstown. I have not cached much this side of the West Gate Bridge, so AT suggested the destinations for us to visit. It was nice to see people out and enjoying the weather.
It was getting to the end of the caching day and we headed to a last couple of caches before picking up the main road to head home. This one was a relatively straightforward find. A trackables were visited. TFTC tackle_head

With lockdown it had been a long time since I had a caching day out with Lost_and_found_79. This was a Sunday trip over to the inner western suburbs to try out a few caches that we hadn't been to before. First on our list was Newport Lakes Reserve and then a few more nearer to the bay. We left the car where it was and carried on walking to this one from our previous find. There were a few other walkers out but all clear once we got to GZ. With the help of the hint here we made a pretty quick find. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. Thanks for the cache tackle_head.
Yeah! Found this finally and son admitted he saw it last time but didn’t tell me!!
Check the container, it is in place and ready to be found.

I’ve looked twice and not too sure if it’s here. I’d love someone to find it to see if it’s still here.
Too many people on the path today.
Did not spend too much time searching due to the carnivorous mosquitoes.

geokid found it and then pretended he hadn’t for ages! Great little find, thanks!!
Today I teamed up with Rock Chalk to do some freestyle caching across the inner west of Melbourne, an area I hadn't really cached before. It was good to get out as the previous week had been emotionally draining and it was nice to just relax and have some laughs.
After looking on the wrong side of the path for a little while I changed sides and had the cache in hand quickly. TFTC!

I had the great pleasure to spend some time caching today with day1976. My first few days in Melbourne have been mostly cloudy and cool, so it was nice to have a sunny, much warmer day today. TFTC!
Staying local so a quick grab this afternoon, the wind was keeping the muggles away so I didn’t have to hurry. TFTC
After running/walking along the Bay Trail and having morning tea we headed off to find some caches. This was the third and final cache for the day. Again, the GPS had us all around GZ then Mr Pooky widened the search and with the help of the hint he soon had the cache in hand. TFTC.
I am sure the bike riders around here have rocks in their heads certainly no brains. This cache needs an idiot bike rider attribute. It's signed anyhow. Tftv

With threatening rain today we decided against a bike ride and headed out for a bit of a freestyle around Williamstown and Altona. Ended up with hardly any rain but plenty of wind so we were still glad we weren't on the bikes.
Fleabag- started off well today with the first few finds in a row but I made up some ground later in the day.
There was about to be a party starting at the parking area with a big blow up castle just erected. We parked up anyway since we were only here for a couple of minutes, walked past a guy practicing his golf and then at GZ, Fleabag- checked one and I checked the other and he came up with the find.
Thanks tackle_head for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

Weather was not meant to be any good today so the bikes stayed home and Spiffy- and I decided Williamstown area would be our freestyle cache location. Cold wind but always nice hanging with my geobuddy. Quick find here. Thanks to tackle_head for placing this cache.
Cache was found in the last place we looked, which as usual was not the first place we looked. Thanks for a fun cache guys. Love your work.
A sneaky little find for me at work today. It took me a while, but only because I wasn’t thinking about the forces of nature initially. Thanks for the fun hide!
A nice hide. Found during a lunchtime walk with _BFMC_
Interesting area.
Thanks tackle_head
Interesting area.

Continued on to here from our previous find at the Bird Hut. A tackle_head micro cache with q most recent log as DNF is always going to be intriguing. Took us a few minutes but LeeLee found the well concealed cache and we were soon en route back to the office with 2 smileys under our belts. TFTC.
This one didn't take too long which was a surprise! Sneaky little hide. Favourite point from us. TFTC
Very tricky hide...looked at GZ rock several times. A more thorough search proved fruitfultftc
This turned into my nemesis cache. The one you know is there but for some reason you have cache blindness (a serious affliction of the eyes and hands) . I just could not find it. It took four visits. The first time was stinking hot, the next it started to pour rain. Another visit resulted in wet shoes but no cache. I was not going to be beaten. Finally, finally I can log this success. I do not have to do the bleak walk to and from Newport station again. Woo hoo.
I have been to this one three times and hunted hard. I just have absolutely no idea where it could be. Unless it gets submerged. I feel like taking a bulldozer to the area.
I searched around for quite some time. I can see where the cache would have most likely been hidden, but I could not find it. Tried again a couple of days later. I have no idea where this guy is hiding. It started to rain and the area became very slippery. I ended up on my backside in the mud, so I bailed.
I had great plans for geocaching today however chores meant that I had to reduce my caching time to 2 hours. I jumped on the bike and grabbed a few caches.
No luck this time...

A nice easy find, but not in the cache's proper spot. Have placed back in its obvious home!
