Another cache in our travels today. Most enjoyable drive with Tufty on roads I've never been on before.beautiful scenery and some lovely lakes views in places.
Butchie Bum and found this cache lying on its side with the top off but the log book still there.
Will need a bit of maintenance.
Cheers for the cache.

2870 In Rotorua to find 12 caches to meet requirements for cache GC42CNY 12-12-12: A Challenge? (Rotorua). This was number 4. Parked and walked back. GPS had me going around in circles before I spotted the cache. All good. Thanks
I was a little worried about this one as it appeared to be a little further into the bush then usual. My phone isn't great at the best of times but after entering and having a look around I soon had the cache sorted. Coords look good cheers Peter.
Early 2015 a group of Tauranga based cachers started a [BOP Geocaching Facebook Page](https://www.facebook.com/groups/GeocachingBOP/).
115 cachers currently make up this [Closed](https://www.facebook.com/help/220336891328465#What-are-the-privacy-options-for-groups) group and have already organised various events and excursions thanks to the connectivity facebook provides. Please check us out if you haven't already.
And lets not forget to mention the [New Zealand Geocaching Adventure 2016](http://www.nzgeocachingadventure.nz/) which is being held 21-24 October 2016 (Labour Weekend) in Turangi. Please log your attendance at [GC63PZN](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC63PZN_new-zealand-geocaching-adventure-2016) to ensure this event achieves its [MEGA](https://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=86) classication. Can't wait to see everyone there!

Consecutive day find #37. Getting ever slow close to 50. Nice bush here, birds chorus loud. Looks like wallabies live here though as no undergrowth. Got angle wrong first time and found a road sign, but with eyes open the cache became apparent quickly. Tftc. No doubt will get more in series over coming weeks as I inch closer to 50.
I got to the intersection of Hamilton Rd and there was a Hepburn electrical van parked up couldn't see if anyone was in it so decided to park a little further down the road and walked back so I wouldn't get muggled by them. Found the cache nice and easy to find these are well placed caches I do appreciate the effort you have put into these.

Down this way for the "Tough guy and gal challenge" so had the afternoon free to go find some caches in the area, so decided to head of around the lakes and grab a few on a road less travelled.
Trusted the GPS on this one for a change and it lead me right to the cache. Though it did help that I was able to spot it from a few metres away. Thanks for another great placement.

This one took longer than it should have as GPS took awhile to settle. I walked past a couple of times - but as soon as I was on the right angle spotted it straight away. Tftc
Went bush a little but easy find. We are the first time to find this since March. Thanks Otautu.
Found after a bit of hunting around various trees. Mr S spotted it. Hidden in the open. Very good. TFTC.

17.55: On the way from Lake Tarawera back to Paengaroa. Taking Manwahe Rd and Hamilton Rd gave us the chance to find the remaining "Otautu"-caches. At first we were unsure where and how to start our search. The old switchbox right beside the road attracted our attention but still 40m or so to go. Very nice place in the bushes and well camouflaged. We decided to continue via Hamilton Road which added a wonderful 4WD-experience in our trusty Landcruiser to our day full of caches.
Weather: clouds, 16°C;
Wheelchair: no, pathless and overgrown bush;
State: all good.
IN & OUT: nothing.
Thank you!

Came down from Auckland and spent a nice weekend caching in Rotorua. Drove around picking up the Otautu 1-4 caches this afternoon. GPS had us circling around a wee bit, but we soon found the cache. TFTC!

Had great fun with this series but as is usual for us we did this in reverse, that meant the caches were in the majority on the other side of the road, but it was great driving practise for the 16 year old learner license holder of the team. Interesting place to come and one we would never have visited without these caches. Thanks
Watched with interest and excitement as the the Otautu caches went from archived, to disabled, to enabled. Thought it wise to visit while they are activated.
The iPhone brought me to ground zone, but played up under the trees. Decided to put it away and let my cache hunting instinct kick in. Found the cache with ease. TFTC. Very happy to have completed the Otautu series.

Between the tree cover and the overcast sky I thought the GPS was sending me in the wrong direction. Still I decided to trust it, and it was an easy find. Nice cache. Took spider left rhino and soldier. TFTC
A very cheering 'easy to find' as we DNF =THREE= other caches we have looked for today! Cache in good condition. TFTC

9.50am - Well we got all 4, had to back track to get this one, realised that we could have done the 4 more easier.Did it 4,1,2,3 should have done it 1,2,3,4
Very quick find. Decided to pick up all 4 in the series. TFTC and the scenic drive with the family.
Found this one on my trip through the north island. Visited some great places and saw heaps of cool stuff. Thanks for showing me around and thanks for the cache.

Found this one out in the open, so placed it where we thought it should be. Quick and easy find because of that, NINO TFTC
Nice little adventure for a new geo cacher on her Mt bike doing Manawahae, Hamilton and Pongakawa Rds as loop ride.
Thanx for easy finds

The roll continues ..... 3 from 4, time to pop down to the lake for lunch ...... thanks
Came up the back way from Pukehina to Lake Rotoiti so did these in a different order - and without any printouts or cellphone coverage, we put items in the first cache, then later discovered the "Leave No Goodies" in the description and then had to return back and retrieve the goodies we left.
So we did these four caches in this order; 2, 1, 4, 3, 2, 1????

Having done the first in the series just over a week ago we waited this one out till all the caches had been listed, we had planned to pick these ones up yesterday on our caching trip to the Waikato but ran out of time so we picked them up today on our way back from kayaking 2 of the Tarawera caches, man the hamilton road is a bit rough in places, not ideal in a jumbo van with a kayak strapped to the roof!! All 3 caches found with ease. Thanks for bringing us to this area, I recognised the Hamilton Rd/Manawahe Rd intersection as I Mountainbiked on Hamilton Rd in the Whakatane 24Hr Multisport Adventure race back in 2008 amongst other places.
TNLN TFTC!!!

We decided to tackle this series today. It was a beautiful sunny day to be out and about.
We started off looking on the wrong side of the road, but once we realised the error of our ways it didn't take us very long at all to locate the cache.
We got a few strange looks from muggles in a couple of passing vehicles, but we are used to that by now .
Thanks for the hide.

2TF, and the second Otautu cache for us. Much easier this time, and on discovering that tjr-nz had signed the back page, we labelled the front and back pages and signed at the front of the logbook, before retracing our steps to Otautu 4 to check he hadn't done the same there. TFTC
Nice drive out this way just be careful of on coming traffic, good swimming spot this side of the lake too. No boys with me today so FTF by myself. Thanks
