This is more of couldnt do it as there is no sign on the gate any more (nor anywhere in the area).
Today is a size regular dot-day. It's also a multi dot-day. So yesterday I cast around the map and elected this one -= it being a long way away and making use of the long daylight hours while we still have them. So I left work and cycled to Petone railway station, took the train into Wellington. there I had to wait and hour and a half, as trains do not takle bikes during rush hour. At 6pm I was on the train heading to Paekakariki. Then back on the bike and cycled to here.I had been to QEII Park some time ago, and had cycled around solving all the multi caches for such days as this, so I already knew where this was. Opened up to find a triple containered log. The log was saturated, but it is also the Aquanote, the best waterproof paper out there, so being wet wasn't a problem. Still I was surprised, given that the containers are all dry. Odd.Back to the train station. Hey! Only a 9 minute wait! and a half hour wait at Wellington. I got home at quarter to ten. That's about 6 hours to get this one cache!Still - another multi dot-day done, only 26 to go. Should be able to complete this is year.Another regular dot-day done, only another 62 to go. Yeah, that's going to take a while. More than a year I think.
Unable to get to replace the soggy log at the moment or in the foreseeable future. Would appreciate next hunter/finder drying and popping in a new log. Alternatively remove the cache for me and log as found before I archive it
On our first walk through this park and of course we aim to collect some caches. We have not been able to locate the sign or the gate (we read the description and aware it's a new one). We searched all possible hint items where brambles weren't too bad. After leaving a message to CO and feeling slightly deflated we headed off to the next cache." Could it be here?" Sending the teen in and there it was found but despite triple containers the log was too wet to extract. Attaching picture proof. Tftc
#321. I relished the delightful combination of the walk and puzzle during my first experience. The warm welcome from horses and their caretakers added to the enjoyment. Navigating to the cache posed no challenges, but I would advise against touching the log, especially when it's wetsomething I learned firsthand. Thankfully, I had sanitizing wipes in the car to address the rather pungent encounter.TFTC.27 of 30 - Monthly Multi Streak.
Every time I visit this area, I keep meaning to get around to doing this multi, but there never seems to be enough time in the day.Today however, I was enjoying a leisurely stroll so made a point of finally completing it.No problems working out the co ords or making the find. The log is wet but still signable. Thanks for setting this up
A bit quicker working out the location that the previous. Nice find! TFTC!!

My daughter had done the successful math on this one.
Didn't take long. Found the sign and done the math on the seat.
That was a good move as the final was closer to here than where we were parked.
A short walk got us to the proper hints and, with a little angling, spotted the cache.
Unfortunately, the log was completely wet and could not sign.
There was a bit of water in the cache.
Drained as much water as we could and dried as long as we could.
Took a picture of the logbook to prove.
Cheers
Sleepy was here!

Nice quick multi leading to a cool walk on a neat shared walk/cycleway. Quick find at GZ. Outer cache was waterlogged which we emptied, but the trusty inner pill bottle is keeping the log perfectly dry. Lots of cyclists and dog walkers on our walk back to the carpark... what a fabulous commute this would be! TFTC
Went for a bike ride through QEII Park this afternoon. Realised that I needed to pick up a cache at some point today. As this was the only unfound one in the vicinity I decided to “go after” it. Didn’t take long to get the necessary information and to locate the cache itself which wasn’t too far away. Just what I needed! #4743. TFTC.
Nice easy multi, a little detour from walk to the final but hint gave put us at the right spot quickly and had cache in hand. Thanks for placing this cache
Quick find on a blustery day. I solved these puzzles ages ago with the intention of coming to the VW nationals in Paekakariki 2020, and then it was postponed until 2021. Got here in the end!
Lovely Day to put some miles into the training and bruises to the shins with Dianne and Kimmy+co
First time out in the Queen Elizabeth Park, will need to come back to venture more in this wonderland

#1421. I was quite keen to get a Multi or Mystery starting with F by the end of this weekend (I wonder why?) and this Multi turned Trad seemed like a good option, given that I was heading south to Wellington with time to spare. Having given up on some other Multis by this CO, I thought this would be a doddle. But it was rapidly getting dark, the sun having just set, so armed with my phone torch I searched long and hard around GZ before finally laying eyes on the cache, nicely hidden just as I thought it would be.
Sadly, in the excitement of grabbing and signing the cache, my reading glasses fell into the grass, and despite a scrabble around, I couldn’t find them. There are other unfound caches in the vicinity so I think I will return, even though they are cheapie ones.
There is a new sign, as mentioned by trancer96 in Oct, and I took a pic of it. If you were wanting to reinstate the Multi as a puzzle, bkj97, you’d need to adjust the questions as it’s not identical to the sign in the description. I’ve sent you a copy. Tftc!

Walking along the trail back to the camping ground. Solved back at base and then found reasonably easily.

Most of the multis I see from this CO require a LOT of work so I was almost shocked to see this one was not only straightforward but solvable from home. On the route I took to GZ today I saw a Farm Park Code sign not too far from original WP1 but it didn't occur to me to photograph it to see if was the same as the one the multi originally called for. Anyway, onward to GZ.
So I made a right meal of this. For some reason I thought there was no hint and spent an absolute age following the GPS to some possible hides - about 5m from where the cache actually was. While widening my search I actually half-looked where the cache turned out to be but I wasn't expecting it to be practically buried so I overlooked it. Eventually I noticed the hint and was relieved to see it was quite prescriptive. It wasn't until I shovelled away some litter than I eventually found the cache.
Despite previous reports of the caching getting wet it was all dry for me. TFTC.

A nice and easy multi. A beautiful day to stroll around QE park. Have tipped water out of cache container. Log still nice and dry! Thanks for placing the cache
Staying at the camping ground and did a big bike ride. My nephew and I stopped to grab this cache and another one on the trail. He doesn’t have premium but has signed the log - Bars3nal. Signed log. TFTC
Finally back to pick up this cache we missed on our last bike ride. I can't see how the water is getting in the cache. At least the inner containers are keeping the log dry.
#7280. I looked at this one last night and noticed something unusual in the hints. Decided to have a go at solving it anyway (being a bit a..... retentive) and was pleased to see the owners calculations matched those I came up with. Decided to head up to the Kapiti Coast this morning to pick up a few caches. Lovely early spring weather up here (even in Aug). Sunny and even felt warm in my winter clothes. Decided to tackle this one from the southern parking area. A pleasant stroll along the tracks. Lots of walkers out today. Once I reached GZ I checked a likely hiding spot and sure enough there was the cache. Signed the logbook and replaced the cache as found. Thanks Bkj97 for the multicache.
Without getting anyone too excited, it appears that the sign is back! I spotted it en route to GZ despite having solved it already. A cute little piwakawaka fluttered around while I was signing the log. TFTC
As I was so close, it would have been rude not to go and rind this one as well. Quickly located, but my pen was playing up, so there is little more than a date and a faint impression of a signature on the paper, but I have a photo as proof of signing. Now off to see what the others are up to, TFTC. Decided that such a venerable cache needed a FP as a thank you for all it's years of service, and out of gratitude for another cache to add to my 2.5+ DGSc challenge tally.
Found that without too much trouble.
Cache box was wet inside, but log inside two containers was nice & dry.
A beautiful Friday afternoon between storms.
Thanks

Out for a walk in QEII park this evening. No problems with the find and pristine log. Tipped a little water out of the outer container but the two inner containers nice and dry. Have had the solution for this for about 3 years so nice to finally grab. And able to claim 1002m towards the DGSc distance challenge. Thanks for the cache.
Wandering through the surrounding area today, collecting caches as I go. Another quick find, all good here. TFTC
I woke up this morning to find that that the rain predicted for the day was nowhere to be seen. And so the day I thought was going to be spend lounging around doing nothing turned into a very nice day spent wandering around Queen Elizabeth Park and Raumati, collecting caches I had wanted to try for, and a few Puzzle Caches I had worked out a while ago. QE Park in particular is a place I hadn't been too for such a long time. I had forgotten about the Tram being there!
So I was happy enough to just work my way along following the road from the main entrance, towards the coast and then see where it all led to. I decided to take the coastal walking track heading south, as the views out towards Pukerua Bay and Mana Island were splendid!
Having gone as far as the Memorial Lookout, I was now on my way back north again but this time on the Inland track in order to swing by and try to find this Puzzle Cache that I had solved some time ago. This one would also fill a dot on my D/T table so I was hoping for a find, and I wasn't disappointed. The co-ordinates took me straight to GZ, and the Hint did the rest. I was able to sign the log readily enough, in spite of it being a bit damp, and put it all back exactly as found.
So thanks for placing this cache, and helping me fill another blank in the grid.

All good to go thanks to the cache fairies who did some much needed maintenance of my caches in the park.
Nice easy puzzle and cache, just took a while to figure out which path to take to get to it, nice dry double-bagged log book

2nd multi on the way to GC38E. Well, not much of multi here anymore...
There was quite a bit of water inside and everything was wet, so I took a break from walking, sat down next to GZ and did a drying operation. That's what I've been doing a lot today - a perfect hot and sunny day for it!
Hopefully it will stay dry in the future. During that I discovered the logbook has two covers, weird!

I "solved" this quite some time ago and have had it on my to find pile for a while. Walked past today and after a short search finally got my hands on the container. TFTC
Hubby and I caught the train from Waikanae to Paekakariki and cycled back home via Te Ara O Whareroa, new M2PP shared path and Waikanae River. Grabbed a few handy caches along the way. This one was the first stop. Easy find. Quite a lot of water in cache which was tipped out. TFTC
Signboard was quick find Worked out coords while having lunch by beach. Cache fast find. Bit of water in container but logbook fine. TFTC!
Lovely day to bike the trails in QEII Park. The new one just completed is like a main highway. Cache is wet, so dried it as best I could. Log all dry and signable. TFTC
I had fears for this cache's safety as I approached. I thought it may have been right in the path of the new cycle way.
It wasn't but it is very close. While I wasn't at the cache site long, several cyclists passed and I am sure the slower ones took an interest as to what I was up to. It was a bit wet inside the container and, despite its protection, the logbook was damp but still perfectly usable.
I took the opportunity to drop off the beautifully crafted Machu Picchu geocoin that I found in a cache in Bulls.

Found on a very hot day with LCBuilder and the geodogs. Cache was a bit wet but log is fine in its little bag. TFTC
Another great 'Multi' for the day. Starting to get a bit of pace on now. Lovely winter's day for a spot of caching.

We ambled along to this one after doing the Inland Track detour. It was hot and sunny, no wind, a great day to be in this excellent park. Quick find. Tftc.
Rocked up to the first way point of this multi after completing "Easterly Views" and was initially a little confused. Had to resort to reading the cache page properly and were soon on our way to the final. Nice easy find at GZ in today's searing heat for our 3rd Multi of the day. SLTFTC
Cache # 2,069 - having completed the first stage of this one a couple of months back, a brilliant sunny morning beckoned us to complete the cache today. Violet Butterfly, Astro Hunter and I then began our adventure, which included an unnecessary 50 metres of almost bush-bashing (we took the wrong path) before we realised that "This is not the Way". Once we found the right approach, cache was quickly in hand. 10 months after the last find it was not surprising to find the cache container with a significant amount of water in it again. Tipped it out. Log book still mostly dry and certainly usable. Dried everything else out as best we could before returning it to its lair. TNLNSL. TFTC!
Did today with The Wandering Dragons and Violet Butterfly. A long haul to this the way we approached it, but at least it was fine weather and surprisingly few muggles around. Swapped a trinket. Thanks!

I used this cache as a good excuse for a walk on a blustery morning. Straightforward find. The container was full of water but the logbook is dry. Tftc.
Pretty much circumnavigated cache coords before reading description. For us instructions are always a last resort. Easily found after that. It's nice to have multis and higher d/t ratings so we thank you for your solution for the disappearing sign. Kind of interesting that it is gone given that the area still looks like farmland... Found during a day of caching on the coast.
And a very pleasant sort of a day for late August too.
Once we had got ourselves onto the right track the cache hide was discovered in straightforward fashion, all in order, log signed, and safely re-hidden as found.
TFTC found with team cacher Sweet P too

Find #1573. Cycling from Paraparaumu back to Paekakariki via a few caches so took the Yankee Trail through Queen Elizabeth Park which passes closest to this cache. Easily found, dislodging all the slaters caught in the clips. SL TFTC.
This cache took us along a side track we had not previously explored which was nice for a change. TFTC.

Been meaning to come and collect this one for a while. Today, lovely weather and ideal for a walk in the park! All sorted, got the information from the Farm Park Code near the visitor info centre. Great area. TFTC
A really interesting walk to the cache in an area which we have driven past a million times but never visited. Thanks for the cache.
Liked the walk to Farm Park Code - an interesting landscape. At GZ we found the cache without any problems. Later in the day we did come across a gate with the Farm Park code on it. TFTC.

Dried out cache and rebagged the log which was surprisingly dry. Have added spoiler picture of the farm park code but realise it is a bit dodgy image wise so have added a real bonus to the hint!
Found after consultation with owner as sign has gone.Found after assistance. Cache wet inside but log surprisingly in good condition. Double bagged for safety.
Great cache. A little wet inside so tried to dry and put some swap items in plastic bag with logbook to keep dry. TFTC
After walking past the cache at first found it after short search. Inside was wet but logbook is dry.

Mrs 1Grunta thought she was going to grab this before the rest of the family got there, but she got distracted by a little tag at the first tree - "Clue E: Red". Not sure what that was for, but I zeroed straight in on the cache instead.

Solved the puzzle while enjoying lunch in the sun with Mr and Mrs sfortyoner. Hint was useful. TFTC.
There with Possum and Cleo. Good thing too as they had read the update and knew the farm gate sign was missing and had a print-off of it with them. After that, it was all carefully routine.
As mentioned in the prior log, sometime between February 5 & January 22, the information sign was removed by, most likely, the QEII park land managers. No sign = No final cache .
Listing amended and copy of sign appears in the gallery for armchair solvers until the sign is replaced.
Got the GZ okay, but the gate had no sign on it! In fact there was no sign of the sign
More than sufficient tracks in the area but decided a straight line approach would save our soles. Little bit of blackberry encountered but I've had worse.
Nice and straight forward, and all worked out nicely.

#427. Found the gate well enough and had no issues deriving GZ. The telltale geocacher goat-tracks led us directly to the cache. Thanks for an enjoyable walk on a fine winter day. SL, TFTC. -diary, -paua shell, +tb, +matchbox, +badge.
After finding Pickle Pot, off we went to Bjk97's Farm Park Code. Being a nice sunny weekend (for once!) we enjoyed the walk. Did a little miscalculation at WP, but fortunately checked clues and saw that we would have been heading in the wrong direction into the farm park, so rechecked calcs, and sorted it out. Cache was rather wet. Drained out all the water and tried to dry it out as best we could before rehiding and going off for a picnic lunch. TFTC.
Came here on a caching expedition today, managed to coincide with the small part of the day when the sun was shining. No problems with the questions and a quick find at GZ. Signed log, TFTC
