Apologies for the generic logs, but individuals would be unmanageable!Today was set aside to make a start on the Dog's Head Loop. The puzzles had been solved quite some time ago so we were looking forward to turning them and the other caches into smilies. It was a great day for caching, clear skies, temperatures in the high teens and little or no wind. We didn't take the COs advice and work in a clockwise direction, but that was because we were starting out from Branxton and will be moving on to Maitland later. It is a fabulously organized series to date. Reasonable places to pull over in most instances, great sized caches with excellent hints and obvious regular maintenance. Congratulations and well done!We had a couple of DNFs and an enjoyable if busy day. More to come!Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Omega62.**SKI Pair****
OCW Geospark62. He was the brave one. Made the find signed the log and replaced as found. TFTC
Tftc not the easiest to access, feels like private property. Climbed down, signed and climbed back up. Found with red_ear_slider

I've lost count of the times we've driven over this bridge and not stopped for this.... be it roadworks, hunger, weather, DNFs or forgetfulness, it must be 8 times.... today we saw that a fresh replacement had gone in, so thought what the hell....
Oliver wasn't impressed with the smell around GZ, a mix of stock and floodwaters? Anyway a quick find was made and we headed home, finally turning a green dot into a smiley.... TFTC!

Found today on a cache drive in the area, ended up finding 2, and replacing 1, totalling in 3 finds for the afternoon!

I think when we did the dogs head trail some years back there was no access to the bridge.
Fast foreward a couple of years & as we were staying close by it was an opportunity to find this one. As there has been a number of DNFs the CO was happy for me to replace it in the location that fits the hint.
Its a great view from under the bridge, some good photos on the cache page.
We took the tough way to the cache through chest high grass only to find a much easier way back to the car.
Thanks Omega62 for hiding of this cache

Searched for a good 20 mins on this one. But unfortunately did not find. Thinking the river may have took it with the recent floods

A two day road trip to conquer the Dog Head Trail together with The Bebes, Everest High and Eagle Eyed Monkey Girl.
Full log will be placed with cache #197 (Standard Schnauzer).
A small cache out of the Dog Head Trail. As we were driving up the cache we listened to the news, announcing another 11,000 Covid 19 cases in NSW today.
Suddenly we saw a bird flying toward the car. It did not fly up in time and a loud bang on the wind screen got us all focussed again. No damage to car and bird, at least I did not see anything dead on the road surface but chances are it was launched into the shoulder of the road.
This was cache find 171 of our road trip. TFTC!

Quite a challenge with the head high grass and fences to either jump or through barbed wire but got there in the end. TFTC
Had to jump a fence and check all the holes until we made the find. Awesome bridge. TFTC!
Found it.With the road works happening, it was an effort to get to it but succeeded. TFTC Omega62.
Found with shaneo58's, doing a fair number of the dogs head trail and some around the Branxton area.. It was a very warm day for a spring days. Even with the roadworks we found a park, got some funny looks from the workes, and left when the lights changed as there is only one lane.
Log signed and cache replaced as found.

Well 2020 has been a relatively slow year on the caching front due to COVID-19. If it wasn't for that it would have been a trip to the USA and Geocaching's 20th year celebrations.
However the crew got back together and The Rats, Hoojar and I teamed up for a few days caching up around the Hunter area. First it was to finish off some of the older OZGM series caches then up into the Watagans for more. Most of Saturday was spent tackling the great Dogs Head Trail then on Sunday it was down into Newcastle city for some great caches.
This was another find on our trip.

COVID has really put a dampener on this year’s caching ability, but it hasn't stopped my enthusiasm to get out and find a cache whenever possible. So, it was with excitement that I was keen to catch up with Steeba and Hoojar for our first caching weekend of the year.
We targeted a number of powertrails in the Central Coast and Hunter region over our 3-day caching frenzy. The weekend threw up a bit of everything, including a plethora of finds, mountain bush bashing, coastal caching, weather that varied from beautiful to bizarre, sleeping under the stars, some close calls with the flora and fauna, lovely local hospitality and most of all, a great time away with my mates”.
Thanks to all the C.O’s for placing and maintaining their caches for us to find. Apologises for the generic log but with so many finds I couldn’t personalise every one of them.
After a chilly night and another early start we tackled our biggest day, the “Dog’s Head” trail north of Maitland saw us meandering through the picturesque countryside. It was here we found some cleverly crafted containers which added to a great day. By time nightfall we’d met up with Big Matt & MV for a lovely meal at the Paterson Hotel.
Thanks

With restrictions starting to ease in our Covid World, it was decided that 2020 caching really need to kick up a gear, and so a plan was set in motion for The Rats, Steeba and myself to head to the Newcastle and Hunter region. There were a few trails, power trails, and Lab Caches that would be hitting our radars, along with a milestone for The Rats. We headed off on Thursday evening and turned for jome on Sunday afternoon. A wonderful long weekend was had, and our cache finds topped 450 for the trip. All in all it was a great success.
The caches were excellent. Some indeed were amazing, and favourite points have been awarded. The company, as always, was faultless. The weather was varied. We had sun, rain, wind, colder, warm, more wind... A bit of everything! We managed to find a few nice spots to camp, and enjoyed the company of Big Matt and Marcus Vitruvius for dinner at a local establishment on Saturday evening.
Please forgive the boiler-plate log, I assure you it is no reflection on the caching experience of our few days away. Thank you to all cache owners for their hides.
A little diversion from the power trail, and we had this cache. It was not hidden as described, so we placed it back somewhere more appropriate.
Cheers

Back again since last year when they were working on the bridge, today they are working on the road, so we could still stop and make the find. TFTC
I joined a trip to Maitland with Aquilus1, dty73, Tankengine, Barb2e, Kitty Katch & Joolay. The weekends main game was to do the dogs head series, but along the way we did some old caches around Sydney and did as many Maitland caches as time allowed. The return journey was via some old caches and some challenges that may or may not be met one day.
Day 2 was the dogs head series and three other series around Kurri Kurri. The R&D caches and many other Maitland caches are absolutely fantastic containers showing great creativity with new tools.
Thanks for the cache Omega62

Found with and signed the Capital Crunchers who are: dty73, Tankengine, Joolay, kittycatch, Albida33, Barb2e.
A four day caching trip up around Maitland collecting a number of caches of interest to suit everyone along for the fun. A lovely area, very scenic, green and lots of historic locations. Also some great caching to be done while in the area as well as on our way there and home.
The 'Dogs head' was a main focus of the trip, and took us the the best part of the day along with a few smaller trails and a few as we passed but a lovely scenic area to spend the day in. Most caches were straight forward finds, a few took a little search and others are great 3D printed designs or LARGE! Great trail through a great area and stopped for this too, thanks for the cache Omega62.
Love the bridges and rivers in the area, so beautiful!

What an great looking bridge. The cache took a little find mainly because we were so busy looking at the view that we were looking on the wrong side of the wall. Once we worked that out the cache was quickly found. Tftc Omega62!!!

Last time we were here, we were hunting on the wrong side of the bridge, and additionally GZ was a construction site. Today we came back again, and managed to find it quite easily. TFTC!
Caching in the company of GrumpyBump, on our slow, meandering way to the Mega event in Millicent, S.A.

We camped at the rest area in Branxton with wazza9 and Nana Nel and ventured out to do some caching around the area. We enjoyed the variety of hides. We had no problem finding this cache. Thanks to Omega62 for hiding this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.
TFTC,
I joined Liz and Bruce & Nana nel for 2 days caching around the area. Our primary goal was to complete the Dog Head but there are plenty of other caches to try and complete across several towns.
No workers, fences or signs to keep us out. Guess we are the lucky ones to get so many lost days, last found 01/01/2019

3rd cache of the day, before attempting the Dogs Head lucky for us quick find with no bridge construction. Stamped log and replaced. Thanks to Omefa62.

This cache really needs to be listed as unavailable. It has not been found since the beginning of the year, we do not know the date of when the bridge works started but there is no sign of them finishing soon. It is disappointing to think a cache is available and then turn up at GZ to find you can get no where near the cache. I have not recommended that this cache is in need of maintenance to avoid it being archived.
Tiding things up and finally getting around to logging my DNFs
No find for us here today

We approached this in fear and trepidation, eyes wide open for reptilian life, but J Blake was absent - phew! The view from beneath the bridge is interesting too - plenty to look for in the bridges of the Hunter. Tftc!
On a road trip down from Qld to participate in the Oz GeoMuster Event and following team RoddyC before parting ways and heading for an overnight stay in Cessnock. This big bridge looked too good not to stop and have a look around and the scenery is quite beautiful as well.
We checked in all the hidey holes and of course it had to be the last one we looked at but pleased to have found it just the same.

We came across your cache, Omega62, during our journey to the Easter Mega.
Down through the long grass on the wesyern side up and overv the gate and looked. Found it in the hole near the gate post on the western side, contrary to the hint.
Log signed and replaced at 6:03 pm on 27 March 2018. TFTC.

Dropped off replacement cache while we went past put it on the right looking at the wall will send some info to CO
We had to climb over a fence for this one. I felt as though we were trespassing. The hint leads you right to the spot but couldn't see it and we poked a stick a foot deep into the hole and it still nothing.
Stopped by for a quick find. Cache is all ok, nice and dry, we even found the lid in the dirt and placed the cache a bit further back in its hidey hole. TFTC
Didn't search.... kids too hungry for KFC in Singleton to find a park. Will return.....
Has been muggled. Count container and trinkets near by spears on the ground. Can't find lid. Needs some maintenance from CO. Signed log and placed back where we think it should be. TFTC
Went the wrong way first but thought the bridge to be too dangerous. Geohubby found this one. On holidays in exotic Australia from Vancouver Island, Canada TFTC
A quick park and grab, whilst we spend time caching around the Hunter Valley and surrounds. Great views from GZ. TNLN SL TFTC
TFTC. Didn't see any snakes. Looks like the cache has been washed out. Needs a little TLC..
After getting over my fear of there might be a snake under the bridge, I found the cache fairly easy (not sure if it is in the right spot) all that was in there was a pen, added a Page for a temporary log book, thanks for the cache omega62
Heading in from Gresford this morning,
it was a cache of "I'll cross this bridge when I come to it !!"
Only one shall cross at a time !!
Lest they meet in the middle for a joust [:o)]
Once across, I put on me trolling hat and went for a stroll
The cache was surprisingly easy to find.
It had fallen out of its hiding place !!
Logbook signed and cache replaced in it's nook [^]
TFTC and a close look at one of these magnificent olde bridges.
So good to see that local councils are keeping them in working order, rather than replacing them with boring pre-stressed concrete ones.
Crossing a river is 'an event' on one of these beauties !! [^]
