Logs

11-Apr-12
Found at 11:30am today. My first geocache find in Vietnam and Asia! My brother was kind enough and patient enough to walk around the lake with me while I found all the clues and finally the cache. Though I did have some trouble with WP 3 which meant I had to do some guesswork in the end. The cache was easily found after WP7 was completed. It has been a great holiday in Vietnam. I have already visited Saigon and went trekking in Sapa along with a very amazing home stay experience. Now we have a few days in Hanoi before going to Ha Long Bay. Right now I am sitting at the lovely café by the lake near where we found the cache, awaiting lunch (we already ate here on the way to Sapa). Many thanks for the cache!

Sounds like the log is now full. I am away for awhile so if the next cacher could download, print and cut out a log sheet, http://www.techblazer.com/wp-content/uploads/Geocaching-Log-Sheet-0.5-inches-Color-Logo-Refill.pdf , and take it with them to replace the full log, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks!!!

Our first day in Vietnam. We arrived early this morning and then had a brif walk around the old quarter and a cylcotour with the guide. This was a good job as he was able t explain the easy to cross the road in Vietnam- walk slowly and don't look at the traffic and they will avoid you. As I found doing this cache, it really works and I felt quite smug leaving other tourists waiting vainly for a break in the traffic.

A rather unusual thing happened on the circuit- I was asked 6 times if I wanted my shoes gluing! Must be part of a Vietnamese job creation scheme!

I found all the stages without too much of a problem apart from Stage 6 which I wandered about for a bit with the GPS bouncing around. I got a number but then for stage 7 I was quite a way out- maybe I put the coordinates in wrongly. Anyway, I found it and was then off to the cache itself. I had to use the hint and then quite bit of steath to retrieve and replace he cache. te logbook is completely full but I managed to write over an old faded log.

Thanks for fantastic walk around this beautiful lake. I didn't see the famous turtle but I got a great view of the orange sun setting over the lake. A definite favourite point and another great advert for multi caches.

The posted coordinates take you to the first stage which is located at the north end of the lake.
