Found while visiting from Canberra on a 4wd tour of outback icons. A quick find. Cache is in good shape. TFTC
Found this one back in August with DivCommm, sorry, forgot to log it. Interesting site, unable to imagine this place in that era.
Stopping for a break after being at Packsaddle Gymkhana and Bikehana over Easter. TFTC and for bringing us here.
Currently on a roadtrip with buddies (McLookers, micaparamedic and TheDame) to Mildura, MacCabe's Corner, Broken Hill, Tibooburra, Cameron Corner, Orroroo and back to Adelaide.
It didn't take us too long to put our hands on this one. Certainly an interesting area to explore.
Thanks gold1313 for the cache.

It’s so interesting to come to places like this, it’s hard to imagine the hardships people went through to live out here.
It’s all so green after the rain, I’ve been to so many places like this and it was only dust.

Found with Kellmik and Karlth2021 on our 15 day, 7000+ km trip around the outback taking in iconic locations such as the Gawler Ranges, Googs Track, Kingoonya, Woomera, Oodnadatta Track, Marree, Birdsville Track, Mungerannie, Birdsville, Bedourie, Boulia, Diamantina NP, Winton, Longreach, Windorah, Haddon Corner, The Dig Tree, Innamincka, Old Strezlecki Track, Milparinka, Silverton and Broken Hill.
In all is was an absolutely fantastic trip with lots of wonderful things to see.
This cache was one of over 120 that we found during our outback drive.
Camped close to here for the night. Recent rains had meant there was heaps of growth around the edges of the creek. Easily found once I'd found the right tree.

After a nights stop at Cobham rest area we made our way north to Tibooburra, without planning to make any stops. At the turnoff to Milparinka I remember camping at the cairn just outside the town many years ago and my desire to venture deeper was made easier when I found out 2 historic caches lay down beyond those dusty roads. It was a great decision, learnt a lot about sturts expedition, and James Poole who died of a common disease back then, scurvy. Very historic. Brilliant detour off the silver hwy. Tftc
TFTC! Picked up exploring Milparinka on the way back home. Another spot we may not have otherwise ventured to
Found after Sturts Cairn. What an interesting piece of history, and great to be able to visit the caches in this area which look to mostly be on private stations. Found this one with all three geokids, then explored the memorials. Thanks for bringing us here. On to Tibooburra for the night..!
19.09.18 tftc found while taking my parents for a drive from my daughters station Pineview
Wrong name corrected but the other spelling error left for eternity. A remote spot to lie quietly. TFTC
A lonely spot - no wonder he died if his boss made him build the cairn on the nearby hill.
Found during an epic trip to 3 of SA state's corners - Haddon, Cameron and MacCabe. There was dust, eagles, a flat, video and lots of photography, mud and mostly more dust. An event in Innamincka broke up the dust and quenched the thirst.
Thanks to gold1313 and **clear skies** from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet! [:o)]

We are nomads. Having left Perth WA in February 2014 we now live in our caravan and go wherever the will or caches take us.
On this trip we are travelling from Birdsville to Broken Hill with our caravan on tow.
The track was very rocky and bumpy after having had so much Big Red Bash traffic.
Oh how tough it would have been in 1860!
Mr Felix made the climb here and even managed to make a phone call from the cairn. Back to the geocruiser, then down to Milparinka to pick up the caravan before continuing on. Lunch time so we enjoyed the bestest hamburger at the pub before venturing further south.

Out and about on trip with camper trailer, destination unknown.
Heading towards Tibooburra for tonight and making good time I figured I'd stop by here for a look around. After the obligatory photos, I got down to business of searching for the geocache which was quickly located.
Both cache and log in good condition.
Thanks gold1313 for the excuse for a detour

After the world championship pool game at the Tibooburra pub, we were on our way down to Broken Hill for a big night in the shed with friends, but not before wheeling in here for a bit of a look.
We all descended on masse on GZ and a search was thrown everywhere until the cache was finally found and we signed our lives away.
A large fallen branch had us worried for a while but the cache host is all OK.

We found this cache had been well cemented into place by the local insects but a bit of muscle power managed to get it out. The cache and contents were all in good condition. The log was soon signed and all was returned to its hiding place again. It is interesting to find places related to the first explorers and where they had been camped and routes they followed etc. Thank you to gold1313 for bringing us to this place and for using caching to draw attention to places of historical interest.
came up to milperka to visit a muggle friend living here, the condition of visit was camerons corner and these 2 geocaches he was going to take me too. walked around and found cache, dropped a tb, maybe that will get more people out here, these caches seem a little unloved. cache condition good, log dry.
We decided to leave our bus at Tibooburra and drive
the car down to Milparinka to find the local hides.

in lovely treed area.
Found the cache ok then paid our respects to the local
residents.

Doing a two week road trip of the outback from Canberra through to Cameron's Corner, Broken Hill and the Northern parts of Victoria with Genghicat.
After yesterday's dismal effort (single cache), we decided to up the ante a little and managed three whole caches (although with one of them we did manage to cache in three states lol). This one was an especially tough cache given the area had been covered with an inch of rain the previous night and the drive was a little slippery. But it was an amazing trip and one full of memories.
This was a nice quick cache, although it did end up taking 40 minutes out of our way and this, combined with a stop in Packsaddle, did mean we were really late getting into Broken Hill and we had to drive slowly in the dark to dodge all of the roos, cattle, sheep, bunnies and other assorted wildlife.
Interesting to see the history of this place and again, it's another place that we wouldn't have visited had it not been for a well placed cache..

Found this one on our second attempt at getting to GZ, the first time was 11 months ago, and we found the GeoPajero sliding in to flooded waters quicker than the floods came up and went..... at one stage we thought we might be camping on the track for days,... it took 45minutes to reverse the Pajero back 800metres to firm ground....Pheew...!!
This time was a bit different,(it was drier) we were on our way to Cameron Corner & thought we would grab this cache on the way again, ( as we did last year.....LOL).
Loved the history with this cache was truly amazing what one learns caching.
Found the cache quickly signed the log and left a geocoin

I took the oppurtunity to start discussing Australian explorers with my son as they are learning about Amelia Earhart and the opening up of the American west at school. Whatever happened to Australian History as a subject??
Anyway we worked out that we had passed Lostmonster & Co on our way into this cache when we caught up to them at Tibooburra.

Had been here 14 years ago to which the landscape was very dry and barren, where as today it was a total change as there is lots of vegetation and wildlife around. A nice easy find. Thanks for bringing us back to this historical spot. Just a quick note for future travellers the Milparinka Pub is now closed , the owner is looking for someone to run it.
Well we were on the way to this one when mother nature opened up the dark clouds above, and the track became un-driveable, we were sliding all over the place even in 4wd low range, and the track was covered in water just abit further down, so we thought it best not to go any further and get ourselfs bogged.
We will be back to do this Cache, have a look at Pooles grave and have a Cold Beer and a Steak Sanga at Milparinka Pub.

FTF Very much an honour to get FTF on this one as our surname is Poole and my middle name is James though bearing no relation to the gentleman here. We arrived to find quite a crowd gathered around the graves so we were quick to grab the cache and sign the log while they were busy. It turned out to be the entire heirachy of the NSW NPWS. We spent the next half hour enjoying a chat with the Head ranger of Sturt NP, A character of a lady and very passionate about HER park.
