On a trip to Albury I insisted on a stop here to find a multi cache to add to my tally. The whole experience was simply wonderful! Looking for GZ I must have done something wrong with my calculations, but after a read the hint I searched a bit further afield and found what I was looking for! I enjoyed the view! Favourite point awarded!
Find # 26 800This cache:The number was easy to find. Calculation i left to eterg, since she 500% better than me in math, calculation and whatever. After a bit calculation, she came up with some coordinates, wich seemed ok,we took off to the new GZ, and after a quick search, she even found the cache!MAIN LOG WEDNESDAY MARCH 6TH 2024If there anything spesific to write about the cache, it will come above here..AUSTRALIA TOUR - DAY 8eterg and me - stensbye - are visiting all the way from Norway, first of all to attend the Mega-event in Adelaide on Leap day!Wich we did!We also attended several other events, and found some old caches, some virtuals, webcams, earthcaches, Labs, and whatever that came in our way, if we had the time.We met a lot of warm, welcoming people, who came to us to speak, giving us alot of tips, and help! This Mega-event in Adelaide, and the surrounding events, more Geocachers has come to speak to me/uson these few events, than all other events together! Almost 300 so far!Not counting excisting geocaching-friends that is!So cudos to all participants and co/eo! Well done!!That is now history, and today was time to make new history!Theres a lot of old caches here in Australia, so i picked those who filled the holes in etergs hidden month/Jasmer-calendar,wich i think and hope shes happy about!Today we left Melbourne, and got two Wagga Wagga, but first we visited Melbournes/Victorias first cache, before we went towards the Webcam "Spirit of the Skier", but in between we had a stop in Mansfield for a LAB, Virtual, and LAB bonus, and a multi just outside. Then we drove to Wagga Wagga, where i had booked two rooms. And here we are! Tomorrow were heading for Canberra, and finally Sydney.Maybe we have time for a CITO just outside Canberra. Not sure yet.So much to do, so little time.If youre cache is receiving this log, that means we visited it, found it,signed it - unless if it was a Virtual or Earthcache of course - as TA = Team Avensis, wich was eterg and me, and replaced it!Thank you all for all the caches!Greetings from Norway!TA = Team Avensis = eterg and stensbye################################################################# https://coord.info/GC9P5N1 10. Everyone has the right to love and take care of the cat. #################################################################
Travelling with stensbye. After some days in Adelaide and Melbourne we are on the way to Canberra and we had a cachestop here. We signed as TA. Thank you for this cache.
Headed out for a country drive with ilook4geo and collected a variety of caches along the way. This one was an easy find, after working out the new numbers. Gave the log a quick sign and were off again. Thanks for this cache hide go to vp4.
Came along with goingplaces2 to explore some new places. This was a quick find in the obvious place and duties were soon done before all was replaced as found. TFTC.
The castle! What fun. You can now stay in the holiday house as well. It was not all so serene on our arrival as the rain was pouring down. Lucky for me, I was photographer and Tiz13 was cache signer. Thanks for the fun and the cache vp4
How's the serenity?. not great it's raining... but waypoint 1 was more exciting than l expected it to be having turned up, not realising what this cache was about. Out with Snips and Co heading to a higher destination. This was our pitstop to grab a multi for the day. I do believe a squeal escaped as I realised where we were...such an iconic film...so many l liners I still use..lol...after my excitement ebbed we gathered our information and headed off to GZ where I made the mad dash in the rain to find and sign this cache.
We are visiting the area from South Gippsland for a few days of caching and exploring. What a fun landmark to visit! So many great quotes from that movie (Dale dug a hole ). Thanks for bringing us here and TFTC
We picked this cache to be our goal for this LGA and had a lot of fun visitinging Bonnie Doon. Cache container had a little water in it but dried it out and its all good to go FP added. Tftc

Lovely to see this old cache still alive and well . I can't believe that I have been coming to Eildon since the 60's, all be it not so often these days, and I didn't realise that the actual house from the movie is still there with all the props. Thank you vp4 for keeping this cache in play.
It was that time of year again, although a different monarchs birthday to celebrate. Who would have thunk it that we would celebrate a Kings birthday this year, instead of our dearest Queen's.
Spending the long weekend with our muggle friends in Jamieson . Saturday was spent hitting a small ball around a soggy manicured expance of lawn at Mansfield, and Sunday was caching day .
This year we brought the Hilux, and I was itchin' to turn silver to tan.
We achieved that by picking the road to Licola. The road was average to the Mt Sunday and Silvermine Spur tracks. It all turned to the proverbial past that intersection, but we pushed on after one of the party left their vehicle at the parking point at the aforementioned intersection, and hopped in the other vehicle in the group.
It was an awesome drive in the mud, but there were a couple of members that were none too happy with the conditions, so we got up to Mystery Stone Hut and then turned back to Jamieson . There were a few incidents on a few of the tracks around the area this weekend. When we got back to "the intersection" to pick up the other car, there was a group of guys with an assortment of 4wd's pulled up, some with slight damage to their vehicles due to one of their party coming adrift and ending up in a tree. They ended up breaking 2 winches as well as a multitude of snatch straps [xx(].
There were 2 caches up Mt Sunday track that I wanted, dalerious got ftf on them before we met, so I was looking forward to going to get them myself, but this was not the weekend to do it; too much rain meant things could end badly, and we would also be just another statistic. Just not worth it.
So our group of 2 cachers and once a year honorary group of cachers (muggles) went on to find other doable caches instead. This made the timid passengers happy, so it was win, win all the way.
We didn't sign many logs this weekend, but we sure as hell had a good time, seeing some awesome sights and spending some quality time with good people .

It is indeed a serene environment and I took great pleasure in locating this iconic house. So they did but the jousting sticks from the trading post!
The lake was full and the sun was shining. Straight to the pool room!

The Serenity was just amazing much fun being over this way at Bonnie Doon and Mansfield thank you so much for the placement
Found with PapaGrouch. We stopped in Bonnie Doon and found this cache. We were intending to do some others but were too tired so will have to return another time and do some more. This was an interesting one, starting at a very famous place. I will have to watch the movie again as I don't remember it all. Left a TB to continue its journey. TFTC
This cache was a total surprise as I wasn't expecting to see the house. Everywhere I looked, I noticed something new. I haven't seen the movie in ages, but for me, the stand out was the red jousting sticks in the window and the dog kennel. After doing the sums required, we made for the cache, which was located in a nice and secluded spot nearby. Thanks for placing this and looking after it.
Well wasn’t this fun. I hadn’t really done any research on this prior, just had it on the list as we would be in the area. Pulled up and had a good chuckle over the exactness to the movie. We gathered the required information and set off on our way up the mountain to the webcam. Sorted the calculations out in the car knowing we would have to came back past again and could collect the final (or so we hoped).
We the mountain business taken care of we headed back towards the Mega site of Whittlesea - we remembered to stop and collect the final prize.
Thanks for the cache and the nod to an in comic Australian movie.

Heading homeward to our "Castle" after a week spent in the high country. Yes the serenity created by the flooding Goulburn was delightful for us. Definitely not so for local landowners or farmers. It had special significance for PP who as a youngster, delivered newspapers to the Strathmore house.
Thanks to vp4 for adding this cache to the gameboard, so long ago, 13 years on the gameboard - Well Done!

We are in the area and caching for a couple of days. The flooding is real and the rain patchy, but we stayed safe and sensible and had a great day.
This cache: That was a cool find. I like that this multi has highlighted such an iconic house in film. Great movie and nice multi. Tftc!!!

The Serenity is pretty good as we enjoy a long weekend caching around Lake Eildon. What a bonza icon , loved visiting the house made famous from such an Aussie movie.

Replaced damaged container (as per photo) until CO has the opportunity to check same. On the hunting trail again with SeasonedBird. I’ll leave the more interesting & detailed log to Mrs Geo (aka: SeasonedBird, Salty Chook, the Old Boiler, Old Chook, Dirty Bird or Angry Bird) because she writes so much more eloquently than I and usually has much more time to do so while I’m driving. It’s a great day for caching. TFTC vp4

This was the start of a long day and a very important day for me. Trying to beat my previous type finds in a day total.
Absolutely loved this cache i would be a Castle tragic and a favourite point here.
This is going to be a very well organised, stressful and fun day. We had set ourselves a challenge to pick up as many different types of caches in a day, grab some higher altitude caches and then to add to it, grab some different size caches all in a day.
With our game faces on Domsky’s and I headed to the start of today’s list. We were super excited and had a good plan. First was an event and then head out to grab the MT. Buller caches and then work our way back to town.
It was a super fun day and a relatively easy and fun time, we even got to see some “Serenity”.
In the case of the events, we signed the logbooks and in the case of a cache, we signed and replaced as found. Thank you to all the CO’s for our journey today, it was memorable.

Day one of the Wangaratta oddessey with AlphaDeltaIndigo and Ying~Yang. Melbourne to Mt Buller, started in the heat, ended in the cold, but still somehow muggy all along the way. We mostly focussed on trands today, with a few multi's here and there.

Found on a family history trip to Victoria
It has now got to the stage where we have over 750 draft logs waiting to be completed. These range back over at least a couple of years.
We are not a fan of generic logs but with everything that has been on our plates recently we reluctantly have to admit this may be the only way we can get this back log cleared. If your cache is in our backlog it usually means it is one that we wanted to spend more time creating a much more bespoke log than this. But we are not managing to achieve that goal. So in the interests of getting the backlog cleared we have decided to resort to this long form of TFTC as a way of getting a large number of them cleared.
We apologise for the lack of commentary specific to your cache or event. We are somewhat targeted in what we go after. There are unfounded caches within a few kilometres of our home which we published before we started 8 years ago. We have just never got around to o looking for them. We like unusual cache types, puzzles in particular, older caches, and tend to target a much more wider group of caches when we travel. We like remote caches and caches that bring us to an interesting place. It is likely that this cache found its way into our find list because it fits one of these criteria.
As cache owners we appreciate the effort that goes into hiding and maintains caches so thank you for that.

It was time to head home after an awesome few days in the North East region of Victoria. Making the slow journey home and maybe a spot of caching in the East.
I’ve watched this classic Australian movie many times and visited the house a couple of years ago. I believe it’s now an Airbnb.
With the numbers in hand I set off to gather the cache. A few bikers were riding along the trail but when the coast was clear I made the find. The lid on this one is cracked.
Thanks vp4 for the cache.

A weekend camping trip with RoamingHowie, exploring and caching our way around this area.
What a great movie! Thanks for showing us this Australian icon.
Despite the broken lid and torn bag, the logbook is nice and dry in its snug location.

On a previous trip home from Tumut we pulled up and completed our good mate Rebel Acts new Lab cache in Bonnie Doon, but usually we are on a tight timeline so haven't diverted too far from the main road.
This time was different. We pulled up on the opposite side of the road and took in the serenity. We really loved the film! Came out with all the classic one-liners and then did the calculations.
We promptly then took off the wrong way and then had to ravel a few kilometres before we could find a place to turn around with the caravan in tow. Gave us more great views of the lake though, so all was good.
Back to GZ where we found a good place to park and soon had the good-sized cache in hand.
Thanks for the reminiscing and fun!
Ahhhh the serenity

This was the second of a couple of multis where I've had the final coordinates for some time but no smiley in the ledger.
Being still ahead of the others, I took off to GZ where I soon had the stash in hand at 14:30.
TNLNSL, although our BYO pen geocoin had a visit to mark the occasion. Thanks vp4.
**PS:** The lid is badly broken and probably needs replacing.

Really appreciated seeing the house. Nice hide, but yeah, the container is brittle and a bit broken.
Staying in Bonnie Doon for the night and as the lake is currently a no go zone due to an algae bloom, we made the most of picking up some local caches. We also wanted to see where the Kerrigan's house was located and as luck would have it there was a multi incorporating this iconic Aussie locale. The cache container has seen better days but we did our best to keep it out of the weather. TFTC the adventure and the fun. A fave point has been awarded.
Solved this one at the pub last night before dinner. Retrieved it at the beginning of our cycle to Mansfield this morning.
Container lid brittle and falling to pieces, needs replacing.
The wind ruined the serenity today.

On a multi mission and who couldn’t resist doing this one! The house was visited, information collected, serenity absorbed, cache found and logbook signed. It looks like this cache and tourists out and about have been enjoying some serenity on this sunny winters day. TFTC
On the way home from a long weekend trip to Mansfield and with the traffic at almost walking pace we decided to turn off the bridge here to go and check this piece of Aussie film history out. The kids didn't exactly get the interest in the house but my wife and I enjoyed picking out all the elements of the film. After some quick calculations we headed off to gz and made the quick find. The lid is cracked and may not be completely waterproof anymore. Thanks for the cache vp4 and for highlighting this.
We travelled from Geelong to Mansfield Friday in preparation for a 5.50am start today. We left our hotel and headed to Mt Bullar for 2 specific caches before we moved on to Bonnie Doon. From there we travelled to Bendigo and to St Arnauds for the mega and we had to arrive by 4.30pm and have found very specific caches. Luckily for us this was a successful mission and thank you for being a part of a great day!!
We were on our way to bonnie doon and had a quick hit out the front with the kerigans
Geocaching has taken me to some really interesting places that don't show up in tourist guides and this is one of them. It was fun to see the holiday house made famous by Daryl Kerrigan ... so thanks for bringing us off the main road to check it out vp4.
Great little multi that takes you to a cool location. Final container lid is cracked and broken, but contents of cache are still dry, for now. TFTC
Found with Ravi, the container needs a little bit of tlc. Great cache great area
On our way home from after doing the silo art near Benalla. Love how they've kept the house like it was in the movie. After collecting the required information and doing the maths, we headed over to GZ to make the find. Awarding a fav point. TFTC vp4
Quick find after watching the game at the rec reserve. Clues were gathered and then we were on our way to find the cache. At GZ, the cache was found quickly, unfortunately the lid was broken. Took TB. Nice hide TFTC
Stopped on the way home from Mulwala, wanted to see the holiday house from this great Australian movie. Forgot to punch in the decimal points when adding the co-ordinates, finally fixed that and we were off to find the cache. TFTC
After rolling out the swag near Mansfield last night, I slowly made my way towards Melbourne, visiting some interesting spots and finding a few selected caches along the way. Today was my sixth day on the road after leaving Adelaide to travel to Tasmania via country Victoria.
It was another great day and I enjoyed a couple of short walks and rewarding cache finds along the way, including some interesting challenge caches. Much of the afternoon was spent visiting different LGAs around the outskirts of Melbourne.
I couldn’t resist doing this one! The house was visited, information collected, serenity absorbed, cache found and logbook signed. It looks like this cache has been enjoying some serenity of its own over summer, with the last name in logbook dated over 5 months ago.
While the contents are still in good order, the container has become brittle and the lid is broken. It needs replacing before the winter.
Thanks vp4 for a fun cache.

We are up here for a reunion of Muggle Husbands old water skiing chums. It is a bleak cold day so I decided on some caching. Hate skiing, love caching and love this movie.

Today I was heading for the hills to attend the Bluff Discovery event tomorrow so I the way I found a few caches along the way, this was one of them.
Normally I go straight passed the turn off to head down to this cache but today I had a bit of time to be able to make the detour to this one.
I arrived at the start and took note of the number and parked up the road a little further to work on my numbers, while I was doing that someone else arrived, not for the cache but to get a few photos.
I soon had the final cache location and rather headed to that spot, once I arrived I looked around a bit and then the cache was found but the container really needs to be replaced as the lid is not complete anymore, I signed the log, replaced the cache with its cover, hopefully that keeps the rain out and then continued on my journey.
**Thanks to vp4 for placing this cache.**

So many time we come past this road but we always seem to be in a rush to get here or go there. Recently though, we have heard that there may be no more serenity here so thought we should do the cache in case it does get relocated, we are so glad we did. The house is just as it is in the movie.
We got the numbers at the WP and sat in the car and worked out where to go next. GZ was another great spot and we quickly got the cache before exploring and reading the signs. We then walked down the track to the bottom of the bridge to look at the water and get a few photos.

Lots of maths formulas led us to this out of the way spot which still oozes serenity.
Travelling from Queensland to SA with lots of stopovers, we couldnt miss this icon.Vp4 this is a special location you have chosen as the start of the search for this cache.

This one has been in the solved pile for far too long but haven’t been in this part of the world for ages. Heading to the Mt Buller weekend event with time to stop and enjoy the serenity here. The lake was mirror still this morning just to emphasise how serene this place can be TFTC vp4

I am visiting Melbourne from Perth with the Family for Xmas. Many plans have been made about which caches to find. Hopefully those plans can be put into action.
I was given a leave pass for the geoson and I to take the geohirecar for a run in the country. The goals were Melbourne’s 1st and the webcam on Mt Buller then maybe some touristy stuff - the rest of the day was open.
This was a must do cache for a fan of The Castle. An easy multi in a great location. A fave from me.
vp4 - I was out and about today and found your cache Hows the serenity? at 09:59:14 on 22 Dec 2017. This find brings my cache count to 2483.
Thank you for placing this cache and contributing to this great game. The log was signed and cache replaced. How’s the serenity.

hevwalker & I stopped briefly to watch an echidna in the undergrowth and made our way to Wp1.
We were dubious about approaching the property,
but the property manager arrived & assured as no one was here.
An initial miscalculation and we found the correct road & area.
Nice, quick multi enjoyed the serenity vp4

Clare007 & I stayed around the area for an extra day after the Alexandra Mega event...we came to visit "The Castle" this afternoon...
The caretaker came past while we were there...a friendly fellow who said go ahead & take photo's...noticed it is a holiday rental...hmmmm!!!
Another beautiful spot in this region...went down to the banks of the lake...
Calculations were made and once we worked out how to get to GZ a quick find was made...

Our second day caching as the GOTHs, Geocachers of the Hills, made up by the following teams, Bushfire, Aussie M & M, mogni, Team Astro, brisal5 and 6hinemoa2. Our aim was to try to clear out caches in various spots, traditionals, Multis, a wherigo and puzzles that had been solved along the windy way. Some interesting spots were found, got close to the river, and some amazing views. Thanks for the hides and the puzzles.
I found this cache today with my Schatzy while visiting the area for the Alexandra Mega. We had a great weekend and enjoyed the area especially the quality of the caches. This was one of our favourites, Shatzy went crazy with the camera.

Multi #3 in my quest to find ten or more kinds in one day - love the serenity, the power lines are awesome too tftc
MEGA ROAD TRIP - Alexandra Mega 2017 that is. : Day 4: GOTHS go here, there almost everywhere. [8)]
GENERIC LOGS: With Literally Hundreds of caches found during our stay anything specific to this cache will be found near the start HERE: [8] [8] [8] Nothing here means it was found quickly, the cache had no issues and we moved on!
We had all come together for the Alexandra event at a lovely farmstay just outside the township. Mrs. Aussie M&M, Astro and I from Adelaide, mogni from Mt. Gambier, Bushfire from Geelong and 6hinemoa2 from Bachus Marsh. We would be filling up log books just putting our names in them so we searched for an anagram from our caching name initials. The best we could find was BATHMATs. [B)] Good grief. So we settled on GOTHS = Geocachers Of The HillS as we all lived on a hill of one type or another. [:o)] We didn't just 'turn up' and cache. Many months of planning and puzzle solving went on before we made our way over and so we had some target caches and series to have a go at. Today was the Fish GeoArt series - and anything else that was nearby in our travels. Once again the planning by the mega committee and to local cachers made our stay fantastic. [^][^]

On a 6 day tour of Victoria with Barnzy12. Taking the red eye over from Perth we managed to visit some great places. The main reason for the travel was the Mega event in Alexandra and the opportunity to find 12 cache types in a day.
We originally travelled to Phillip bay, then up through the country side to Alexandra. Spent a few nights staying high in the snowfields and then moved over to Mt Disappointment. We then ended up back where we started returning the hire car at the airport to fly home.
Some quality caches were found all over the state, great to get a real range of cache sizes with some very large caches compared to what’s available in WA and the range of D/T options so close to each other was a bonus.
Thanks to all the Cache owners for you placements and creativity put into hiding and have awarded a few fav points based on this or the location it bought us too.
