As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm temporarily archiving this to keep it from continually showing up in search lists. Just contact us when you have the cache repaired, and assuming it still meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.
Was going to attempt this again but with all the DNFs didn't even other. Needs removing.
There has been no finds on this cache for several months and no action seems to have been taken to replace it. I would prefer to see it up and running again. However if not possible then at least other cachers can have access to this location.
Please check its there. Would suggest putting it under the flax and double checking the coordinates
No luck here either... Searched for a while, and it took me a while to notice the GZ was not on the side of a river, but rather the side of a path that was flooded! Haha. But still no luck...
It didn’t take too long to locate this cache, in a not very robust container which is starting to fail. We removed the sodden pulpy remains of the original logsheet, and inserted a new one. We also put the whole cache in a plastic bag, which hopefully will keep it dry. TFTC
I found it after my second attempt searching. The first time I didn't have a very good look as I thought the odds weren't stacked in my favour when I read te clue "under a rock" the place I was lead to had hundreds of rocks plus a family having a picnic and watchin me so I didn't have a proper look. This time I had another search I could luckily see the container (only just) before I lifted the rock. Needs a serious clean ou or something. Absolutely drenched!!! Not being able to write in it sort of took away the fun of it.
This cache is in quite a bad state. In the container there is brown water and the plastic bags are wet on the outside and inside. The paper/log is so wet I didn't even bother taking it out of the container because it would probably have ripped, so I didn't get to write in it. This cache is in a good place just need a brand new container and log.
Picked up a lot of hint objects before uncovering the sodden GZ. Put auxiliary log in new bag but desperately needs a more water tight container.
HAd almost given up and there i was. Cache needs attention - really wet - so wet the pen wouldn't work so we couldn't sign he log.
Thanks to one of the logs, we also left no stone unturned. The log book was so water logged we couldnt sign so we took away the snap lock bag that was wet and replaced with a dry bag and also put in a couple of pieces of paper we had in car so people could log their visit. Hope this helps for a while.
DNF
Had a good look.
Judging by amount of debris and water this probably wouldn't have been able to sign.

Quick fnd. No muggles about. The cache is totally waterlogged. I did not try opening the bags they were too soggy. TFTH.
mmmm surprised to see last log, looked all round and it looks as if others have as well. No luck here today.
No luck to start with then read the old logs was a bit worried still the last cache of the day had to give it another try not leaving a rock un turned iy paided off for another smiley. Cache needs repair as box is full of water anf log is a soggy mess took s photo for logging prove
Lots of the hint objects scattered around that it may pay to check that the actual cache is still where it should be. Felt very exposed looking for it today.
Dropped off wee dudes in the early evening for a sleepover at their grandparents. Mrs G suggested a nighttime caching adventure to Rangiora...who was I to complain?! #16 (of 21) on our adventure. When we hit GZ I was a bit worried that it was a needle in a haystack (made more difficult in the dark!), pleased when the cache came to hand quickly. Very wet inside, tried to dry it a bit. One of the bags has holes in it. Could do with a new bag or two. Nice wee reserve. Interestingly; it is a water catchment area for the new subdivision (as with all of these similar type areas near new subdivisions - note the grass is below ground level & there are large drains) - heavy & prolonged rain will draw all of the ground/storm water to this spot.....
found it yayy. thought it was rubbish at first then opened it up and it was a geocache.
This was an awesome day for my first hunt! Found the cache in less than a minute. Under the first rock I lifted! Was "drawn to it", so to speak! TFTC!
easy find. cache needs to be dried out and cleaned evry so often. we found a dead slug nestling up to the logpaper.
Also moved a quarry load of rocks but eventually found-had to wait for a couple of young muggles to dissapear first.
Found it just as we were about to give up. Container needs updated as logbook was soggy.

Out in Rangiora today visiting a friend. Had about 40minutes spare so went looking for a few caches that i hadn't previously got to. I'd looked for this one before but couldn't find it - easy find today though, d'oh!
had a look with nathan.hunt72 but we couldnt find i just think we were looking in the wrong place
Had a quick look with Coopdaddy99 without any luck. After researching it further on google maps and gps we saw that we walked right past it cos we weren't looking hard enough. Will go back and look closer tomorrow
Looked everywhere and left no stone unturned. DNF. Confused as this shouldn't have been that difficult. Hmmmmm.
Fianlly caught with this one while on a pleasant evening stroll with Mrs MtToad.
Didnt have a writing stick with me so no entry

I see that the last cacher didn't find it either. I'm sure that i left no stone unturned too.

THE FIRST PERSON TO NOT FIND IT AND LOG VISIT A BIT SAD BUT I WAS UNDER TIME RESTRAINTS BEFORE TRAMPOLINING

Quick find - donated a new log book & plastic bag. I think it would be under water occasionally. Needs a stronger box. TFTC
Found it eventually, log wet, along with Horzez, Frekles, KMBird and muggle Dad, thx
Found the cache exposed and full of water. I emptied the container and then hid it better, but the log is soaked.
The cache and log was absolutely soaking wet. We poured water out of the cache. The log was impossible to sign. We left a new sheet of paper that we logged our find onto.
Container has collapsed and was half full of water, very hard to sign the log! Thanks for the hide
Number 3 on our trip to NZ from the UK. Container looks a bit squashed but easy to find.

First time couldn't find - No GPS. New Garmin 62s made it much more pleasing...
This was overlooked, but not to be deterred, the GPS took me straight there for a find of a squashed cache under a rock. anniecrosses and littltuigirl had been here also - wondered if we'd meet them at a cache soon? SL. TFTC.
found with eddie3576 and yadaMe

With the lack of success at Northbrook reserve (GC1YP63) I wanted a successful find before heading for home.
This was the one with the least detour, and easily found. Thanks.

Found it.
Log was a bit damp and container is a bit crushed.
Only worked out your clue after finding the cache. Encrypted twice kind of, that's tricky.

Followed a bus in the gates, so quick trip to the cache site before they walk along, It was a bird watching group. TFTC
Felt pretty exposed in the middle of the day but no-one seemed to give a hoot!

So many rocks to choose from! I guess there has to be something that makes that rock different.

Just about run out of log paper. Not Bog paper. Felt very exposed with cars driving by and houses overlooking the area. Hope no one saw us.
Yep, felt exposed even by night light.
Grabbed after a bit of a turn.
Thanks for the Cache,

Thanks for the Cache,
This must be an intriguing feature in the daytime, even at night it looked interesting. I was alarmed how many rocks we had to lift though, and the obvious signs where others had been searching. TFTC.
Found, but concerned that over time cachers will disturb this whole landscaped area while searching and give geocaching a bad name. Any chance of a re-think and a move, because this is a pretty area to visit? Thanks irnbrubeno.
I think this area might look a bit worse for wear after a while. There might be a better hiding spot a little further away from the rocks.
Just IMO. Thanks for the cache.
