Logs
Well this took a while and was a new experience. There were a lot of dog walkers around this arvo and apart from seeing this would not be an easy hunt, GZ is very exposed and my GPS had me out on the grass. While I was waiting around GZ leaning against a tree waiting for a break in traffic a council worker approached me asking what I was doing. Turns out he is the Park Manager and he said he has caught a "Flasher" hanging around GZ 3 times recently and was concerned. I briefly explained I was playing a game and my pants were staying on and he moved off. Weird. I passed the time solving "My Name Is...." until I eventually I got enough time to myself to hunt around. Took a while but finally spied something odd and was impressed despite seeing something similar before. Good fun, and Ive warned the Park Manager if he sees people hanging around here with a device in their hands they are probably not trying to show people their privates... usually.
As I was driving to the cache, I stopped behind an unassuming car in traffic... On close inspection, I noticed a tb on the back... Turned out to be theswerve. Quick phone call, and arranged to meet later in St Annes to tick off the new caches. Anyway, got to the cache location no problems, I knew the area well! Having found a certain cache in farmleigh previously, this stood to me this time around, and the elusive cache finally revealed itself to me. As I was scribbling my name in the logbook, I heard leaves being crushed under foot, I quickly hid everything in an effort to look inconspicuous... Turned out to be none other than Mr. Jumpin Jim... Replaced the cache, and made my way..
I was here a couple of months ago to look for the cache but alas a football team was warming up right by the cache location so I didn't get a chance to look. Today the park was much quieter - I only had to dodge the occasional dog walker, but alas I had no luck despite a good hunt around. I was trying to be extra vigilant for an unexpected container, but I just could not find anything! I'll come back another time! TFTC!
Yet another visit proved fruitless. Following advice from the swerve I had a good idea of the nature of the object I was seeking, and fully expected to find it this time.
I knew I was looking for something "unexpected", but I didn't know what not to expect. I concentrated my search on a hazel tree with a fairly complex and tangled system of trunks and branches. But gave up after around 15 minutes without success.
Mr Merann was sent in to find this one, I stood on the other side telling him look here, look there as I wasn't taking any chances of goodness knows what was going to fall on me after reading previous logs. It wasn't easily found as it still took a good few minutes to spot. Nice park and thankfully not too many muggles about. SL.
