No luck for me today but I'm sure it's there. I just can't find it. Tree has had a prune back also
Searched for ages..no luck..then I note it hasn't been found for over a year and has multiple watchers ummm...I wonder
I was nearby and keen to find another cache for today so a quick look on the map told me this one was close. Nice little park and a quick find for me today. Thanks Kiwi_Explorer.
I have a 3 month sabbatical mostly traveling around the planet. My goal is to find and log 1000 caches. New Zealand is my 4th station traveling from south Christchurch to north Auckland, my first visit here, its far away. This is my sabbatical-cache #646.
After I spent the morning in Richmond, I had to drop someone off close to here, stopped and had a look around, tried different angles and places but it took a while. Colour blends in perfectly. Was hard to put back
A tough find but I spotted it across the tree, so to speak, then had to work out a way to get it without getting wet from the water-logged leaves. In the end the biggest challenge was putting it back. But all good here, TFTC KE.
Not much on today, so with my eye on the weather forecast (favourable til nightfall) and a new souvenir challenge released, I decided to front foot it and head over the hill to boost some numbers.
Quite a few solved mysteries in the bank - today I was able to tick off some of those.
But basically the day was dictated by the challenge, and I roamed around with no real plan - just urban park and grabs and short walks, of which I still have a lot to find.
20 for the day, good fun. Left for home when it started to become a chore. A few DNFs as normal, but great to be over the hill again. Thanks all COs.

Nice easy find with my 8 month old son on a walk while my pregnant partner rests in nelson hospital
Pretty quick find this afternoon with eltee291 and crman1. Certainly could have taken a lot longer, given the host, but we spotted it after a couple minutes. Drove over from Blenheim today and spent a couple hours in Nelson. Was nice except for the couple of downpours! Signed the log and replaced as found. Thanks for the cache, Kiwi_Explorer!
Found today with hingis20 and crman1. Got lucky on this one as I just happened to look the right way. It was supposed to be a relatively nice day out that way but the inconsistent weather followed us and in Nelson we encountered some downpours. Didn’t stop us from caching though. TFTC
Hingis20, eltee291 and I are on our way to Nelson to see the sites and cache a bit. Tftc
Took a wee while to find this one but got there in the end with Tregearp finally coming up with the goods.
All in good order. Signed log and replaced as found.
Thanks Kiwi_Explorer for the cache.

Dependent on time of year and light these can be challenging hides, today all pretty good, Thanks K_E for a nice little hide, all in good order.
I had an opportunity to go to the South Island and take a week off work and do some caching while Mrs Yeetrees had to go to the ANZEG Conference 2018 which was being held in Nelson.
Day 4. Nelson. This was the second day of 4 that Mrs Yeetrees had to attend classes and lectures at the ANZEG Conference 2018, while she was doing this it was my aim to go around the CBD and nearby and see if I could pick up a few of the harder caches around the area. This included a few different types of caches rather than just hitting traditional drive by caches.
After finding GC2Y1XW - High Tea (Nelson), this was the next cache that I had on my list that I wanted to find today. But I had to drop lunch off to Mrs Yeetrees and the get some lunch for myself. After having something to eat I decided to go and see if I could find this cache, having being here already once I decided that I needed to come back and see if I could find it.
Arriving at GZ, I managed to find a carpark not too far from GZ , and made my way to GZ and then thought to myself where would I hide this cache, after thinking about it a bit more I soon decided to check out a spot, and soon spotted something.
Managed to retrieve the cache, signed and then replaced the cache back as found. Thanks Kiwi_Explorer for placing this cache here and for bringing me to this spot, TFTC TNLNSL (13602). Glad to get this cache off my list of DNF.

Three times I was at the GZ. I opened my eyes, but somehow I seem to have been blind. Nevertheless says the Junior Senior CapRekar from Germany.

Found with Blondini51. What a beautiful little park - nice smells. A short search led to the cache. Thanks.
Out and about now the rain has stopped and grabbing a few caches while car getting some stuff done. Spotted this one eventually. Thanks for the cache.
In Nelson doing a bit of shopping for the caravan - and had to grab a couple of caches before heading home.
This is a spot I would never have come if it wasn't for the hunt - very quiet so I am pleased. Needed to look from the right angle before spotting.

Ouch! Tricky little blighter. Spotted just as ATM nearly head butted it. TFTC and greetings from the UK
We did not know this area existed - we get to learn so much about our town through geocaching. Luckily this was a near instant find - I was feeling a bit chuffed with myself. Thanks Kiwi_Explorer for the cache
With the help from paddle chick we searched for ages when pc finally spotted it.Tftc Kiwi_Explorer
Quite a tricky cache this one...you can't log it until you have spotted it. And after a wee while we spotted the cache, obviously in the last place we looked because we didn't keep looking after we had found it...but it was a tad more difficult than we hoped....but aren't they all? Thanks Kiwi Explorer, we appreciate your efforts immensely.
Almost gave up but then it appeared right in front of us as we were leaving, so pleased. TFTC.
A bit of a long weekend in Nelson, down from Auckland and somehow this ended up being our first cache. An early flight so it was only around 9am, dew still on the ground, as well as dog poo!! Nearly gave up as the shoes were soaking, but one last look and the dastardly cache was found, well hidden, thanks
After at least 6 visits to this site, one back in 2014 I was determined to find this and today it paid off. It had to be today as my visit to Nelson ends tomorrow and who know when I will be here again from Canada. With my dear friend living nearby it was easy to trot up each day but now I am happy. TFTH it was a challenge but fun.
I finally found this one after several failed attempts! But armed with my new GPS, and Catlady2, I am now happy to be able to positively log it as a success. Yay!!!
FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!! am i soooooooo happy to tick this one off the list. this is gotta be our 5th visit to this cache. Log is very damp and you cant write on it. TFTC (actually maybe not)
Found it on our 2nd visit. Led astray on our first attempt by the GPS pointing us in the opposite direction. The log is disintegrating so needs replacing. Thanks for the cache
After receiving an email and seeing the two DNFs I went and checked on this cache at lunch time today. Gosh that tree is bigger than I remember was my first thought. Now where did I leave that cache? Soon spotted it. I have a lot to answer for for introducing this style of hide to Nelson but if I hadn't done it first I'm sure others would have. Drop us an email if you need any further hints. Good luck.
Finally! Am I ever glad to be able to get this one ticked off as I was starting to think that my only viable way of ever finding this was to set light to the blessed GZ and see what remained!
But, you can't say you've ever truly geocached until you've found a hide like this.
<irony> I really enjoy this sort of hide </irony>
Cheers for the hide and I am pleased to get this monkey off my back.

GPS kept wanting me to go on the garden had a decent look but no luck only one or two more days in nelson will look again if I have a chance grr
A weekend trip to Nelson to attend the event then cache our way back to Blenheim via Brightwater, Wakefield and 88 Valley Road was hatched earlier in the week and with Pi Day kindly offering up not one, but two shiny souvenirs, it was agreed that we would head over the hill, again!
Saturday morning to the Event, sleep in the car Saturday night (for me, the Seagnoid would take his bivvy tent and sleeping bag) then a long and slow trip back to bag as many caches as possible. Somehow though, this was lost in communication and the Seagnoid kindly volunteered himself to be Joe le taxi on Saturday night so the whole thing was brought forward 24 hours. My G P S has packed a sad and won't work anymore so I was on borrowed equipment and hastily loaded a G S A K list of potential finds, and some solved puzzles, and off we set at about 5:30 from sunny Blenheim. Grabbed caches before it got too dark to keep going, and managed 6 by torch light which helps towards one of my missing M G S C attributes, yay, just the Events to go now.
Having fed our faces at the quality location that is B K, hmmmmmm, it was onto cache finding and this cache was the one we chose. Not sure if I've been here before and failed but the park looked a bit familiar. Circled a few of the trees and we were quite a while before I had that aha moment and the cache was eyed up.

[green] Suddenly I find this weekend is free, So capperz and I set off to the Pi Day event in Nelson. And to grab a few puzzles. Gotta get them souvenirs! And, since we are out there anyway, grab a few dozen caches along the way.
In Nelson now, Friday not-yet-night so sort of just driving around semi-randomly finding caches to fill in the time. Somehow we got here. I wrote the word "various" in my notebook, but now, as I write this log, I have no idea what that means! Ah yes, a study of the map - Interesting park, but the GPS would not settle down and led us on a merry chase. In the end we found it where we first looked!

I had just driven up from Christchurch in a relocation rental car and wanted to find a few caches before I dropped it off in Nelson. As I was nearing the hospital I remembered this little "#%&X". I had hunted for this a couple of times before and noted a DNF on 2010-01-20. I met the CO in Christchurch a couple of weeks later and he told me where to look. Confident that it would be a quick find I went to GZ and ended poking around for far longer than I expected before the little "#%&X" came into my line of sight. What a relief! A bonus was finding a tennis ball so I felt happier when I left the park this time.

This was the second disappointing search, even with help from my eagle eyed partner in crime. Far too much time spent here, even though the setting is nice.
In Nelson for the weekend and picking up caches that support our GIO Licence requirements and as well as some puzzle solves.
This one took a while but our usual tree cache finder was on her game and saw this soon after we found the right GZ.

For the sake of sanity we set off with sonia26642 for a crazy geocaching trip, aiming to cache until we drop. The main destination was Nelson and the ‘surrounding’ area, but then we ended up covering a few miles in three northernmost regions, plus a few in Canterbury. We were signing/stamping the log as 'Team Polak' or ‘TP’ for the two of us on this trip to save logbook space. We found a lot of different caches, city ones, road side, park side, up a hill and on an island, and we enjoyed every single one of them. It was good to be a professional thingfinder for a few days!
We had great fun and are grateful to all CO’s who placed caches for us to find, and help restore our sanity before returning to our other non-geocaching lives!!

This was one of the most epic weeks ever, and definitely my most epic caching week ever.
Me and mum headed up on a holiday north to Nelson and very wider surrounds. In total during the trip, we found almost 500 caches! (470 odd I think, but final results are yet to be in! ) We covered about 3000 odd km I think too. Crazy! And had our absolute best caching day ever too at 160 found. Spend 9 days travelling, caching, and having the best time ever!!
So sorry about not so epic logs, as otherwise this would probably take me the rest of my life to log, especially with two big events to organise coming up! Eeek!!
Almost every single log we signed as 'Team Polak' to avoid needing to write out both usernames taking up space on logsheet - as well as precious caching time!! Haha.

Looked and looked but couldn't find. We were using a Samsung Note rather than a GPS and maybe the accuracy was degraded.
Will have to try again next time we visit New Zealand. Sorry about the America's Cup.

[teal]Last day of our 5 day Easter caching roadtrip. Today we were heading home to Greymouth from Nelson. [/teal]
Took longer than I would have liked here but we were stubborn and didnt want to leave without finding it.
Cache is more like waist height, looks like it couldve been moved though. 2nd of the morning. Thanks for the cache

A lovely neighbourhood park. Cache took a bit of searching for - turned out to be at hobbit head height! TFTC
Found it. Was just Me this morning Tintin had to work. Took a wee while but got there in the end.
Approaching from the right angle certainly helps to locate this one. Found on a beautiful evening TFTC Cheers!
A small night run with Holymu in a small area. This one the last of five. A clever hide in yet another park I wasn't aware of. TFTC
A short caching run with Hazedarus tonight gained us a smiley with this cache. It's many years since I often visited this park when living in the area. Thank you for the excuse to come back here and also for the very clever hide. TFTC.
At last and on a sunny day. We had difficulty finding this on rainy wet days and its pleasing to have found it with the sun shining today.
Interesting to approach this park from a different angle. Last time we cached here it was from the other side. Got rather scratched at GZ, but a small injury compared to others received before when caching.
Must admit this isn't the first time I've tried to find this little beauty. Finally cracked it!!! I have been SO close previously and now wondering how I missed it!!! Great little hide. Phew...
out for a late afternoon walk with JoshThePirate, our second view and first grab got this little one out thanks for this one Mr. E [

After spending an undisclosed amount of time looking in the wrong spot yesterday I finally decided it might be a good idea to check my GPS and sure enough, there it was. Sometimes pre-conceived ideas can be our biggest hindrance. Good hide. TFTC
And evening find so the light was poor. Was in my face and didn't know it until I was able to focus.
#3531. Some unfinished business from Nov 2010. This type of hide seems popular in these parts, but we struggle with them. Was pleased to finally spot. TFTC.
We DNFed this last visit, I think it may have been missing at the time. Certainly appreciated the hint as we forgot how prickly the hide was.
Again, StreetWalker saved the day and found it reasonably quickly.

It took 3 visits with my 12 year old grandson but he finally found it. A great bonding experience2 homeless muggles nearby on each occasion were a bit of a distraction. I think they thought we were crazy. A very clever hide. Thanks for the hint and the challenge.
