Found something that I thought for sure was it but no luck. will try again sometime very soon!
Wow fantastic. Went to the clue coordinates and stumbled across it with some dogged perserverence, without really needing the hint tbh. 30 mins all up once we'd realised that it was important to read the whole story!

Find #11310
Headed out today with beckNmonts, Manfred Wolfgang would normally come along too but he has a busy social life. our Main objective was to find some Multis, attend the GeoTour launch as well as a few puzzles, the odd trad and if we were lucky a letterbox.
Made a speedy getaway from the hot box that was the event to find some more local caches.
Thanks to bristlehound for the cache.
Big things are continuing to happen! *Are you joining the fun again in 2021?*

Heading up to ballarat for the “Big Launch”, I thought we had better make use of the day to find some other caches in the area after to the event. This was a very well crafted hide. Thanks for placing the cache opted-out user.
Now that lockdown is over for us dirty Melbournian’s I got out the iPad last night, opened up the geocaching app and over a couple of beers decided where the Sunday drive was going to take me to get back into caching.
I picked the Western Hwy and hit the back roads after Ballan to head towards Gordon and start from there.
Finally made it to the other side of the Hwy and now to start finding a few on this side.
Ballarat and surrounds has a great variety of reservoirs and parks have been set up with some great walking tracks.
Now to try and find a few on the Yarrowee River trail which looks a great spot.
There where quiet a few people about on foot and on pedal power enjoying the sun and wind along this trail
After find the first along the trail it was time to attempt a multi.
Stopped at the rock, jotted down some numbers and came up with a set of coords.
Now that was the easy part compared to locating the cache at GZ.
I search in that many spots and could not locate it and the GPS kept bringing me back to one certain spot.
I looked here about 3 times and on the final attempt I spotted the sneaky cache after about 20 mins of searching.
A fav goes out to you for the great construction of this cache.
Thanks bristlehound TFTC.

Another fun weekend assault on Victorian caches with Trigger_Fish where many caches were found, many miles were covered in the geomobile and some miles were walked.
After barking up many trees on the wrong side of the track we found a well hidden cache.
Thanks for the cache bristlehound.

Wow! And wow!… What an absolutely brilliant hide in a gorgeous area.
I have come up from Melbourne to Ballarat today to geocache some of these lovely trails. It’s a beautiful sunny day and I’m on my bike.
I met a muggle on the way who was interested in what I was doing at the post in coordinates. I gave him a quick rundown on what geocaching was, and told him that the post on Coordinates gave me clues to the final, where I would hopefully find the container. He was going home to look it up so hopefully I’ve converted another one.
Now back to this hide. After successfully gathering the coordinates from waypoint 1 I made my way to the final after solving the cryptic crossword clue. There were several specimens at GZ, and as the CEO says, the GPS is a bit sketchy. So it took me from one to the other. It’s finally settled down and I searched and searched to no avail for awhile, and suddenly I put my hand on the housing. The camo is absolutely brilliant!
Thanks for this lovely multi in a very beautiful spot.
A favourite point for sure . Tftc Bristlehound

Making the most of the Boxing Day public holiday we headed up to Ballarat via Stieglitz and Moorabool Falls to seek out some unfound caches that have been taunting us for a long while now on our map!
Tackling the Yarrowee Trail on this warm afternoon we included this oldie that we have been very slack in not attempting before.
Information collected, which turned out to be the easy part, then a good 20 minutes spent searching out the devious hide. The 1.5 terrain threw us off initially but once we were on the correct side, the sneaky micro was revealed.
Thanks bristlehound for the multi and the clever placement.

Our last day in Ballarat so we have headed out a little out of town to find a few caches. A lovely area to place a cache and we enjoyed our journey to GZ. Now it took us a little while to find the cache but hubby had his mojo on and found the cache. No muggles were sighted while at GZ. SL TFTC
Unfortunately logging a DNF. I guess all the clues were too cryptic for me and family.
This one almost had us logging a dnf but a few extra minutes of looking had the cache in hand. A very clever hide. TFTC

While atsmug rode right past the first wp, I started gathering the required info. Once he returned to assist, we soon had the coords for gz. We made our way there and took some time before I revealed the very sneaky hide. Clever!
A fav point here.

Casually rode past the sign before getting an Oi! To turn around and gather information, then off to the clever hide that OHC skilfully uncovered!

very clever hide I would have been stumped if not for a couple of the previous posts. I had worked out the coords going in the wrong direction and almost didn’t back track. How glad am I that I did.
Cache in great condition I replaced the plastic bag which had torn along the seem but all good to go.
Thanks for the effort that went into this one it’s a joy to find.

We continued our walk enjoying the ever changing scenery. We had noticed the Rickey's Quarry on the information board at the start of this section of the track. Accurate coordinates made finding the required information straight forward. Calculations completed and we were on our way again.
As we approached the search area the penny dropped and the cryptic clue fell into place. Here we encountered a stream of muggle dog walkers. Up until now we had only met one bike rider. Perhaps locals arriving home from work were taking their dogs out before settling for the evening. It did mean it took us a while to search. At one muggle break Mrs Y'stassie rested her hand on the nearby object and something shifted. She found she had the cache in her hand and did well to catch it as yet another muggle walked by. A favorite point has been added.
Thanks for this cache bristlehound. We enjoyed finding the well built hide and also the challenge of the cryptic clue.

A lovely stroll in the fading daylight.
A few fowl on the dam and the frogs were in fine voice too.
I wish I had come more prepared though.
Some mozzie repellant and a torch would have come in handy.

Having just arrived home yesterday evening after an 8 day trip away[|)], today it was time to head to Ballarat as Cybergran V had wanted to a ride to attend wozzle68's 50th birthday celebration.
Harry managed to find a tree branch while reversing and gave himself an injury: the rear window on the canopy shattered [xx(] at the 2nd cache find for the weekend and yet by the time this was discovered at Castlemaine, many kilometres later, nothing had fallen out of the gaping hole! Whew!! [^]
Cardboard and duct tape saved the day/weekend!
After attending the birthday celebration tea leafotwind, Rex and I headed out doing some caches until late in the night then after a good rest thanks to an extra room at leafotwind's accommodation (which was hugely appreciated [:X]), the next day we attended the breakfast event and then (after Cybergran V rejoined us) we headed out to claim some challenge caches accompanied for a short time by both Mrs and Mr Riddell
With the last cache of the 29 cache finds found at 6pm on the 5th, it was time for the drive back to Shepparton, having attended 2 events and only having 1 DNF and 1 Write note on a challenge cache that I do not yet meet.
As I am about 8 months behind in logging, I'm resorting to template logs to catch up.
My heartfelt thanks to the COs who have placed some tricky, funny, exercise required, scary, interesting and devious caches in some amazing spots! [^]
Rex and I have had some amazing adventures and enjoyed some incredible moments thanks to this fantastic hobby

After having attended the festivities in hour of Wozzle68 I still needed four caches to reach my day's target of 25. Fortunately locus cache accompanied me for the last four and a good thing too as she had the finals for GZ. It took a moment but as locus is a long time dog owner she knew exactly what was meant by the hint.
Very entertaining GZ.
Very entertaining GZ.
On me bike ride today,
I stopped by the rock
Figured out a set off coordinates for GZ,
and kept riding in the wrong direction [:o]
Don't worry folks !!
I was coming back this way later
And didn't that cause a lot of hair pulling !!
Around and around the trees I wandered !!
Where the hell is the cache hidden I wondered ??
The rotten cache would not show,
So around and around the trees I go
Then at last a glaring stare,
noticed something that wasn't there
It sure was now as I stared at it,
I'd found the cache and signed the chit

Found today along with Virbull and with the grateful assistance of Claybol. I made a quick attempt at this one during a lunchbreak earlier in the week but wasn't confident with my coords and after about 5 mins of searching i called it off. So a msg to Claybol to confirm my coords and a get-together today finally gave me a proper chance to find this cache which had intrigued me for a long time. I sort of understood the cryptic clue but without Claybol's little hints as we were looking i think i would still be there searching for it.
What a fantastic hide, so simple but so well built and blending in with the surrounds. Congrats and a favorite from me for sure. Tftm

Find #1448 for me. Found with jtnsilo and GeoAditya on a regular trip to Ballarat from Bendigo. After arriving at GZ we couldn't find this one immediately so I went to the cache description for some more details. Right, a micro! Well it might be small but given what we could see at GZ I had an idea about how this could be hidden I was right. Wow, what a great camo and definitely worth a favorite point! Also my 10yo (GeoAditya) was very honest. Even though he was with us he forgot to sign the log (or more accurately I forgot to hand it to him) and he didn't want to log a find here without signing. Maybe we'll come back next time we're in the area so he can sign the sheet and claim this one... Thanks for the cache bristlehound!
Took a bit of extra looking time but Clayton let out a chuckle and we were very impressed with the camo. .fav point from me.
I thought today would be a perfect day to come back to this one with some extra sets of eyes. After previously looking for this twice before, I just happened to be standing on the perfect angle. Ah ha! Found you. Awesome camo. Cigc. Tftc
Woohoo! This is my 1400th find!!
We walked through the trees laughing about how there's no such thing as a Gruffalo (or is there?). It's such a pretty walk through here, the alpacas came up to say g'day so we waved and continued on our way. There were no trolls under the bridge asking who was trip trapping across their bridge, thank goodness!! With all our devices pointing in different directions it was causing some issues, lol. Jenno3 was over 1 way, kenbryl and muggle Annie were another way, Sean.75 was a different way and I simply needed to pee!! I was ready to head back to the toilets when Sean.75 said the magic words! Yay!! It's great to be able to use this cache as part of the multi challenge. A fp from me for the fantastic camo. Tftc

Out and about with Sean.75 kenare and kenbryl to try and knock over some multis for multi month. This one seems to be on Sean and kenares hit list as tricky... and it was. Very very tricky indeed!!!! Clever cache and to make it sweeter kenares 1400 find. Congrats kenare and tftc
We had the coords worked out for this cache ages ago but couldn't find it. Today we all came back to have another look. Sean.75 was the one who found it, our arrows were pointing every other way! Great camo!! I thought it was weird that no other caches were showing up on my map, but I realised that I had it set that only multis would come up! Lol!! Kenare said we'd be back for them another day. Tftc
Great cache. Took a while to find but once found realised it was quite simply and easy to find
One of our favourite types of caches to do. Wasn't long and we found ourselves at GZ with a quick find. TFTC
Grabbing a swag of outstanding Ballarat caches. This is the last one along this leg of the yarrowee. A great hide and an enjoyable walk. TFTC TNLN

On the way home from working the last couple of days in Maryborough.
Picked up a couple of caches on the trail and continued on for this multi. Glad I did, its a nice spot and a very nice hide.

Exceptional hide we loved the hide. Could have taken hours to find this one. A dog would have to sniff higher than ground level
After needing to return to check the coordinates, we were off to find the cache. Found the hints a little two cryptic for me, lucky the gps was very accurate with both mine and Yogsters placing us in the same spot. Yogster soon had the log in hand, glad to finally put a smiley on this one. TFTC
TFTC. Omg, what an adventure this one was. Picked up what I thought were the correct clues and answers some time ago while walking the trail doing another ripper series to return today to find myself an easy 700 metres plus away from the GZ. Not being deterred thinking I had the right info, Jaggedwings and I were soon immersed in a hunt that not only took us to the wrong area but under barbed wires and between gates where I don't think the general public is allowed access to. After spending five minutes searching at GZ we quickly realised I'd made an error so we beat a hasty retreat back to the car. Returning to WP1, we re-read the questions again and came up with a glaring error in my deductions and soon found a new more viable GZ. After a fair amount of scratching around our new target I eventually PAFd a previous finder and got a solid nudge as to where this well camo'd cache was hiding. FP here for the extremely well camo'd cache.
Again a slight push from another cacher led to me making the find, some time after my first attempt. Brilliant camo.

On what started as a cold wet day, Bogonghazy and I took the geodogs caching. As we arrived at the national park the weather looked ominous. During the drizzle I located this one with some assistance from BH, who had found it years ago. Fantastic cache! So simple yet so effective. Many thanks for this cute little one in such a beautiful park.
A bit of fun with the kids. We worked out all the cryptics, but still took a little searching.
After having a rare Tuesday off work today I headed out this way with the 5 year old geokid for a FTF. Being successful we continued on for a walk of the Yarrowee trail to grab the remaining unfound caches. This one has been on my to do for ages and I had a bit of an idea of what to search for at GZ. Arriving at GZ GPS was crazy as predicted. I focused on a few places. No luck. Questioned my maths but was confident I was in the right area. Kept looking at the one spot and bingo I saw something which gave the game away. What a fabulous hide. A definite fav from me. Just brilliant. Many many thanks - I can see why there are lots of DNFs here! Cheers
Hmm. Are these coords, double check, yep. Do want to go there, well, no, but I'm here. Bonus clue makes sense, could not understand the hint. Hmm again. Well, I had a look, I have some scratches as souvenirs but alas no cache. Ah well.
Cherad and I had the coords quickly and found GZ without a problem, the cache however, had the geokids and us stumped. It wasn't until we relented and reluctantly PAF, did we have it in hand. A fav point for creativity and effort, this one certainly deserves it.
While enjoying a lovely day out along the trail we decided to try this one, Out with Mi5sie, we managed to work out the next set of soords and got to GZ, but there we were stuck, (for a while) Mi5sie decided to PAF and as she did my geodson had already got it in hand (glad to solve this one without a hint lol) Thanks for the cache and adventure
Found as Nicnax with PapaGrouch. Took us a while to spot this one and mazzymay was having a good laugh at us. TFTC
I'd had a quick look for this a few weeks ago after working out the coords, but didn't spend long looking. This time I had time to have a good look. Fortunately, I managed to spot it soon after arrival. The GPS actually led me straight to the general area. I'll give this a fav for the great camo and work put in. TFTC bristlehound.
Day 2 camped at Creswick with Alansee and Team Crackers, we headed out to grab some caches.
We found a mixture of bike trails, walks and drive by's, which made a fun day.
Most caches were found after a short search, some a little trickier.
This was a great multi, with a clever hide at the end. Worth a favourite point from us.
Many thanks for placing this cache, bristlehound, for us and others to find.

A beautiful Spring Day called out for some cache finding.
We headed out to Gong Gong to do the Yarrowee Trail.
Living at the far end of this trail it was nice to walk this part today.
The hides here were all very unique and fun.
This find has been 6 years coming! Great to find the clever hide and cross it off the list.
Thanks Bristlehound.

Second try lucky for me today. I last attempted this hide on the 18th May 2013. Got to the GZ but was bested by the amazing camo and the fact I managed to twist my ankle while hunting. I hobbled back to my car in disgust swearing I would come back some day...

What a great little hide and a great camo to boot. I can see why I was bested way back in 2013.
Thanks for the hide here Bristlehound. +1 Fav Points for the Effort and for the fact it took me 934 days to find this cache.
Out walking in this beautiful area and that was the perfect opportunity the scratch this one off the un found list. thanks for the nice multi.
My 3rd cache and first did not find. The compass led me into a restricted area. Not sure of the cache is in there or not? Outside the fence and still 100m away from GZ..
Also I'm not that much of a cryptic thinker, so the hint had me completely stumped. Maybe when I'm a bit more experienced I'll come back and try again.

With the recent cold weather we have both come down with a cold. Then to wake to rain we were in no rush to head out caching today.
It was well after lunch when some sun shone through the clouds we decided to be brave and head out.
We managed to find your cache whilst in the area. We thoroughly enjoyed the walk and we were lucky that the sun stayed out and rain stayed away. A very pretty location and an amazing cache. We were just plain lucky with our find today. Definite fave for the location and the cache.
Thanks bristlehound for feeding our GeoAddiction!

Found during a day off, this one has been appearing on my unfound list since I started caching and I decided that today was the day to hopefully make a find
After visiting the posted coords and obtaining the numbers I needed I made my way to GZ and after a lot of searching I managed to make a find in this very well hidden cache
Thanks for placing in an area of the Yarrowee Creek Trail I hadn't ever visited

We really enjoyed everything about this cache, both the area and the cache hide. We lived for a while in Ballarat some 26 or so years ago and wish this track was here back then. Took us a little while to find the cache but then soon put our hand on the very nicely constructed hide. The only thing that we were dissappointed with was that there were not more caches a bit further on as we would like to keep on walking up there.
TFTC and have another fav point

This was a great location and I enjoyed the wander along the track. After double checking my calculations I was soon at a likely looking spot that seemed to fit the bill. Thinking it may take some time to unravel the mystery of the cryptic hint, I was pleased when I soon found the hide. This is a very well constructed container and the best example of it that I have come across.
Thanks to bristlehound for setting up this excellent cache.

What an adventure after school today with geofriends. Very good cache. Well done thanks.
With Geo friends , we walked to the Ist waypoint and worked out the necessary information. We continued on to GZ , only to find that our GPS was not settling , therefore had me well off the scent. Eventually Geo friend found the very tricky clever hide. What a relief! This one really deserves a favourite, thanks bristlehound.
Thanks for the cache. Cool multi. Glanville Girls made the find. We were all looking everywhere. Good camo.
Caching this afternoon with The Lookabouts, Glanville Girls, Beckster22, Rehfisch Clan, Motndarg and Tomstache, we parked about 500m from the point we needed to gather information. Once we had the info, we headed to GZ to start looking. We knew this would be a challenge and that is why we brought plenty of eyes. We spread out. We thought we knew what the hint meant but we could not find the cache. Then, Glanville Girls yelled that they found it. What a fantastic camo. The clue then made sense in a different way. Thanks for the hide and the multi bristlehound, a favourite from us.
What a fantastic hide, a nice bit of camo. We made the walk to the first waypoint and got the necessary info, then a quick walk to GZ. We knew from the outset that this was going to be a tricky hide. Our caching group had 4 different GPSrs all indicating a different GZ. The trees really do play havoc with the signals here. After a short search we found this one. We all gathered round to marvel at your handiwork. This one definitely deserves a favourite. Thanks bristlehound. Caching todoay with McLookers, Beckster22, Tomstache, Motndarg, Rehfisch Clan and Lookabouts.
Out with our GeoGroup....GREAT cache - thanks bristlehound! Fantastic and inspiring....
Out with geofriends, we made our way to the first waypoint, for the information needed for the final. It took a little while as the gps kept jumping. Glanville girl was the one to make the find. What a great camo. Thanks bristlehoud.
Doggone it! Too many clues got me overthinking this one. Looking for faraway trees when it was right there! GZ was spot on and not 3 or 12 m off. But didn't trust so went off the route barking up the wrong trees. What's with sub woofers and dogs piddling on posts, that had me confused. And what's the go with schizo GPSs that change your set coordinates to randoms??? This was a strange experience! But in the end all smileys because I did stop and think about how a cache could work in this location, and there it was! Worth a fav for all the wayward moments and especially for the ripper cache. TFTC bristlehound.
Stumped! Rooting around at the calculated GZ and no show for me. I gather it is a tricky hide so I will read the logs again and come back with the geofamily to search and seek. TFTH bristlehound.
Cannot believe our previous attempt (3rd) was 4 years ago. We pass by every few months and either are in a hurry or forgot to bring our GPSr.
So 5 minutes browsing while waiting for the GPSr to settle and within 5 minutes we finally had it. Same location that we had searched twice before but this time we were armed with a tad more experience at locating devilishly cunning caches.
Thanks so much Bristlehound for a quest that has kept us engaged for so long.

The ageing Bushfire and ozbob had a big day caching in and around Ballarat today with our aim to find and get a smiley on most of the mystery , multi, earth and a few traditionals along the way.
After many hours of research, head scratching, emails to the CO’s and help from others the list was compiled and placed into GSAK phew!! With the new co-ords sorted it is so much easier to work out a route so as not having to backtrack.
We have had a roundabout trip to arrive here for our 9th cache find today. It is indeed a lovely part of the creek even though it is so dry at the moment and the grass must be a fire hazard but it has its own beauty.
On arrival at GZ we scratched around for a while until the very well hidden cache was found, signed and returned with a bit of difficulty.
Thanks bristlehound for bringing us out to this area and for placing the cache.

On the road with Bushfire today. A lovely walk after the co-ords were had to a very good hide that had us searching for quite a while. A favourite for me. Thanks to bristlehound for this excellent cache.
Even with the rain setting in I went to have a go at this one. The multi was easily worked out and the final GZ was within 3m and the cache hide was brilliant. It was a great track to walk on and well worth the visit. TFTC.
frown Didn't find it today, but now that I am home and have worked out the clue correctly, I know I was in the right area, will return to continue my search.
Alas not my day today. Will come back with another set of eyes in the near future.
Today I set off along the river trail collecting caches on the way.
I approached wpt1 from the west today and this was the last cache along this trail for me today. I really enjoyed the walk and this was a great cache to finish on, well thought out and implemented, thanks for the fun.

Attempted this one at night on the return trip from Gong Gong. Worked out the co-ords, went to the GZ but couldnt find the cache. Will return in day light hours.
In the 28 degree searing heat I set off to do this Multi that's been on my hit-list for a very long time. No muggles on the track at all today, they probably all had more sense and were home in the cool of their houses. Necessary numbers were gathered at WP1 and I then set off for GZ. I've seen these hides before, but probably not done with the precision and effort of this one. Camo is first class, and I'm sending a fave your way. Many Thanks to bristlehound for the walk, for bringing me to this delightful trail and for the very clever cache.
