Finally got around to doing this one. Hiked through knee high snow to get there. I knew we should have done it in the summer. Location is in the very NE corner of Winnipeg, MB.

31-Dec-05
Unlike winnepegk5 I am very glad that I waited until winter to do this. I actually ended up using lcationless cache checker http://www.yvanovich.com/terraserver/checker.php?wp=GCB918&wpname=Duck%20and%20Cover to find where to go and then used mapquest to get there. This hunt took me to some woods kinda near Hollins Park in Roanoke County VA USA. Only took 1 child -Audrey- since I was not sure of how easy it would be to get to ground zero. We made it before year end. 1BuzyMom and Audrey

I think this type of LC were my favorite to do. I saved 2 of them for last, this one being 2nd to last. This spot is alongside a road in the middle of farmland in Indiana. I managed to get both sets of coords to be (almost perfect) palindromes (except for that pesky first zero for west). TFTC.

31-Dec-05
Not the closest one to my home, that one was about 500 ft off the road on private property. The next closest is this one, about 20 ft off a moderately busy city street in a wetlands area, on the south side of Battle Creek. It's about 1 mile from the mall. pics to follow shortly.

30-Dec-05
We were unaware of this cache until we visited "Spirit of Christmas" cache last night in Provo, Utah...another cacher turned us on to this cache. So we are loggin our find.

28-Dec-05
Located just north of the M10 motorway, near St. Albans, Hertfordshire, England. I first tried this last summer, but the field was full of Oilseed Rape, which makes me sneeze. Then I forgot about it until I remembered that there are only a few days left to find Locationless caches.

28-Dec-05
28' away, but there was a fence between me and this double palindrome. The GPS said it was straight in front of me so I was standing on the West coordinates. Oh so close! Smile

27-Dec-05
Just off Route 125
North Andover, MA

I was on my way to Haverhill for a basketball tournament but had to do this cache as I have had these coords for some time and the locationless caches are going away soon.
It took me a few minutes to get the GPS to settle on the coords but they finally did.
Thanks for the cache.

27-Dec-05
This was a fun one to track down (thanks to Google Earth) and visit. It's in Provo, UT. It turned out to be just feet from a cache that I visited today ("Spirit of Christmas", GCRQ49)... and the views with the setting sun were spectacular. Glad I was able to do this one before it was archived.

Both the latitude and longitude of this location are palindromes. Photo taken on Dec 26 2005.

24-Dec-05
N Midland and Highmount Avenues
Upper Nyack, NY

Not sure if anyone still works in this building, but it was certainly empty on this Christmas Eve Saturday.

Thanks to EraSeek for the cache!!

24-Dec-05
A fresh coat of pristine snow blanketed the landscape as I ventured toward the cache coordinates. I crossed the Iditarod trail, up a small hill. Then, I heard something or did I? I turned to look and saw nothing and continued toward the goal. Finally reaching the spot I placed the GPS on the ground only to have the numbers change before I could take the picture. Moving around spinning, finding the correct numbers again only to have it happen again. Finally success, I snapped the picture. Started the hike out of the woods wondering if someone would follow my tracks in the snow and wonder, what the heck is this persons problem zig-zag through the woods to nowhere only to spin circles in the woods and come out the way he went in. On the way back I found that a coyote was watching me and his tracks were right in mine.
Thanks for the cache- Oleruns, Anchorage, Alaska

23-Dec-05
Found close to Bellefeuille & McDougal streets, between a manufacturing shop and rail track in Trois-Rivières, Qc.

Trouvée entre une usine manufacturière et une voie ferrée, près des rues Bellefeuille & McDougal, à Trois-Rivières

21-Dec-05
I found this set of palindromes in the street near a park and a church. There is a cache in the park that I found a few months ago. Too bad I didn't realize this locationless caches was so close.

20-Dec-05
Thanks to my partner JimHoney for helping me out with this one! It was a cold snowy day here when we snapped this photo.
TFTC!

These coords are located just west of FR 13 in the Citrus Tract of the Withlacoochee State Forest. Bruno and I hike this area often, and I've got a cache hide not too far up the road. The photos show our long-leaf pines in their native sand hill environment.

19-Dec-05
Thought we'd try this as our 1st 'Reverse Cache'. Turns out that a cubbyhouse (play house for kids, usually in a backyard) nearby was the closest palindrome to us!

17-Dec-05
After reading BillsBayou's analysis, I used Excel to calculate palindromic coordinates in eastern Nebraska and western Iowa. Then transferred the waypoints to Streets and Trips. From which I found this spot out on the Nebraska prairie. I was attracted by the repetition of digits. The spot is between Omaha and Lincoln at N41º 04.169 W096º 14.014. The altitude was a fortuitous and surprising side effect.

16-Dec-05
Found in Liempde, the Netherlands, very near to an other cache Wink
Near a area where its good to walk true and also a great place for looking at birds, not only in the nearby Zoo Wink

16-Dec-05
N 53 26.235 W 03 02.030
Cold windy day on the beach. This one is the closest to my house. But can only be reaced when the tide has gone out far enough !!! Only worked by using 2 digit west degrees though !!

Also found
N 53 25.235 W 03 02.030
in a back street on the way home - not a nice area, so it was good to be able to get it sat in the car !!

16-Dec-05
I really wanted to get this one before it expired! I ran a bunch of possibilities on google local and found a few to try (decided against one in the middle of I-81 north). Ended up with a flat tire chasing one Tuesday (pulled off the side of a country road and ran over a low bush). A few others were on private property, so I didn't approach. Then yesterday I was checking more on Google and found this one, which I figured to be in a parking lot and it was! 15-digit palindrome N38 02.097 W079 02.083 is at a used car lot on the northeast corner of the intersection of VA 608 and US 340 in Stuarts Draft, Virginia. For the GPS shot, I was standing between the cars in the area photo. It's a dingy, icy day but the mountains in the distance were beautiful, probably from the sun reflecting off all of the ice-covered trees. The photo doesn't do them justice! The Blue Ridge Parkway runs at the top of the range in the photo. Great locationless cache idea - thanks!

15-Dec-05
This was my first attempt at a reverse cache. Calculated the closest palindrome coordinates from home, and it ended up in an inaccessible spot. Second time lucky, calculated the closest from work. (Google Earth saved a lot of running around!). Fortune had the second attempt right in the middle of Mitchell Park Reserve (in suburban Adelaide, South Australia), a community recreational park for Aussie Rules Football (a frenetic game of two teams of 18 players that kick, pass and catch the football in aerial leaps, and kick for goals at either ends of the ground) and Cricket (a fascinating game involving two teams of eleven players standing around on a large field, that lasts for five days and generally ends in a draw!). As it turns out this park is about 5 km from the Adelaide historic beach-side suburb of Glenelg, a palindrome in itself! Unfortunately the closest palindrome coordinates to Glenelg was somewhere out in the ocean. It would have been a clever twist!
Cheers, FeatherWaite (Australia)

15-Dec-05
Found this in Sha Tin, Hong Kong (about 300m from the IKEA). Found a set of stairs between people's houses, kept getting warmer, warmer...then had to hop a fence to get into a construction site without the workers noticing me (they didn't). Silly really, but fun! Interesting to note that the time of day and accuracy only contain numbers that are found in the palindrome. Don't worry--that was not planned, although it did remind me of the cache "timing is everything" (GC5379). Thanks!

13-Dec-05
I have tried this several times without success. Today I thought I would try a different format to get the palindrome. I used the decimal degrees format (see photo for proof). My first try put me deep into private property. I thought I would have the same problem at my second location as well but stopped about fifteen feet short of someones back door in an apartment complex.

The Palindrome

4408044 °N
12311321 °W

Thanks for a great cache idea.

13-Dec-05
Here's my Palindrome Point, a short distance from home.

09-Dec-05
This cache was much easier then we expected. It was close to a local school just by a nice country park in Romford, England. Thanks.

09-Dec-05
We found this palindrome location in Siegburg, Germany on the parking lot of the "Amtsgericht" (law-court). Thanks.

08-Dec-05
This palindrome is in northwestern Hillsborough County Florida near the community of Keystone, right in the middle of Crescent Road. Google Earth was right on the money and made this much easier than it would have been otherwise. Thanks for the fun! ©¿©¬

07-Dec-05
Ok, here is my physical cache location. Started looking last night after logging the virtual portion of this cache and found a spot about a half a mile from home. It is on someone's property but I was only 28 feet from the spot so the exact spot is in the picture. Also got a picture from Google Earth so you can see the exact location. Thanks for the caches.

06-Dec-05
Never realized at the time that this photo could be a locationless virtual cache just thought it was neat that my 84 Subaru had made it to 150,000 miles. Still remember right where it happened but shortly after this picture was taken my son totaled the car so no more Palindromes for it. Thanks for the cache.

04-Dec-05
The place was OK, but how to make picture of GPS was quite difficult, there wasn't enought light outside so the camera made fash too, so the picture qualify isn't very good.

04-Dec-05
Finally decided to try and decypher some coords for this one. It took me many months to finally just write the numbers down to do this one. Imagine my surprize when found out the location was less than .16 miles from my house. It is located in a cemetary in Ames Iowa. It is in the section called "Graceland". There is a headstone at this spot. Very near a spot the locals use for sledding. I was able to park approximately 60 feet from the "cache". I should get bonus points for this one- As I was leaving the cemetary I happened to look at my odometer and found another palindrome.....

03-Dec-05
These palindrome coordinates are in Indianapolis, Indiana on Westfield Blvd. south of 86th St. They are in the front grass of what appears to be a vacant office building near the lease sign. Across the street is the local Junior High School.

01-Dec-05
A nice walk in the forrest in Långängen in Lidingö - an islang east of Stockholm (Sweden).

Thx for the initiative!

01-Dec-05
Found what I believe is the closest coordinate palindrome to our home. Created the waymark as requested, and will upload a photo. Site is at the intersection of I-196 and Coloma Road, exit #4 off of I-196. Coordinates are on the property of Nadeau Real Estate. Would make a nice cache location with property owners permission. Though it was neat that the tree was right on the spot, within the accuracy of my GPS at the time! With a few strings of lights, it would fit the season too! Had fun with this one, and may seek out some others nearby. TFTC

26-Nov-05
Found this palindrome about 5kms from home, in a residential area (Loerie Park) in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga Province, South Africa. Wet and rainy, which is wonderful because we are (hopefully) coming out of a terrible drought.

26-Nov-05
My first locationless! This palindrome is in a subdivision southwest of Greenfield, Indiana. It's called Whitcomb Meadows for the poet James Whitcomb Riley who was born and raised in Greenfield.

25-Nov-05
Freezing cold in Posey County Indiana the morning of November 24, 2005, Thanksgiving. The family are still asleep, so I snuck out and logged a few locationless sites. Visited the following and took pix. Thanks for the finds. Mike

Location: Hansestadt Lübeck, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany.

These coordinates are located on the sidewalk in front of a private residence in the Stresemannstraße in Lübeck.

Thanks for the cache!

22-Nov-05
This palindrome to us to the bushes along the driveway into the parking lot of one of our favorite eating establishments - Francisco's Mexican Restaurant. Located in Oroville, California.

20-Nov-05
This was as close as we could get since it was on private property. Oddly, I had taken the pic from the "almost" palindrome spot of W36 33.363 N076 33.367, which is in the pic. The yellow dot is where the actual palindrome should be. We happened to be driving around when I noticed how close we were to having one so we found the location!

19-Nov-05
Not far away from where we live, we found this set of palindrome coordinates.
Best regards form Sitzerland, Mumins

19-Nov-05
It is the second visit in this place.
Because here in a rice field.

Not much to see at this palindrome very close to Paintville Lake in Johnson County, KY USA. Located about 300' from the highway in wooded thicket. Saw a couple of deer here while retrieving a nearby cache. TFTC!!

16-Nov-05
South of Kingsport, TN. Where I had lunch, so unfortunately mundane. I was originally considering a pix next to a large hydrogen tank at the local chemical factory, but restrictions on cameras (with current terroism concerns). Was also considering picture at nearby bluff, but would have to be Wyle E. Coyote since it was roughly 20-40' off the edge. Other locations considered were private property -- or a public golf course.

15-Nov-05
I had to use the hdd.ddddd format to find this location within 200' of our back door. If you look closely you can see the house thru the trees. The 2nd photo is of an old rock quarry that is within 2' of our property line.
N35 21.212 W093 20.034 converted to that format is
N35.35353 W093.33390
The picture of the GPSr shows the palindrome.
Thanks

14-Nov-05
First we were confounded by an electric fence, then a very dodgy-looking area. Eventually we found one close to home, right next to the road! Great fun had, thanks for this bizarre one. Near Cape Town, South Africa - spot Table Mountain in the background of one of the pictures.

14-Nov-05
These coordinates are at Boucherville, Quebec's province, Canada. It has back of shopping center , near the highway Transcanadienne.

In french:
Ces coordonnées sont situées a Boucherville, province de Quebec, Canada.
C'est a l'arrière d'un centre d'achat , près de l'autoroute Transcanadienne.

12-Nov-05
West of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Taking a photo of the GPSr was harder than finding the spot, because the coordinates kept flipping and there were annoying reflections on the screen. The spot is in a large wooded area criss-crossed with cutlines and hiking trails, but the picture is pretty boring because the spot isn't near a trail. Trembling aspen, roses (prickles), raspberries (prickles), and gooseberries (prickles). TFTH, we enjoyed the challenge.

12-Nov-05
We have been looking high and low for a 4 or more palidrome. Thank you political time. This sign is located in the middle of Mill road in Levitown Pa. I hope OTTO won.

09-Nov-05
I checked out a few palindromes in my area and this one was surprisingly less than 100 metres from a cache I hid not too long ago.

08-Nov-05
This palindrome is a genuine drive in cache, only 5km. from our home.

07-Nov-05
This palindromic set of coordinates was only a couple kilometres from my house. So had to visit and click a few photos.

A pair of palindromes! This was a most interesting cache, since we had no idea where it would lead us to. As we were entering coords for Dutch Treat Cache (GCQQ04) in Hampton, New Brunswick, we noticed that the coords were close to a set of palindromes, so we entered that into the GPS as well.
It turns out that the actual place is in the water (Ossekeag Creek) which is part of the Kennebecasis River. We got as close as we could (about 80 meters). The first try took us about 580 meters away, so we did some back tracking, went after Dutch Treat Cache, and found we were much closer. Thanks for this fun cache.

05-Nov-05
This is in the middle of a hawthorn bush just a few yards away from the busy A66 Darlington Bypass in North-East England.

05-Nov-05
This palindrome spot is near the village of Joehlingen, Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany.
The pictures are taken during early sunday morning.

02-Nov-05
Hardest thing about this cache is getting the picture! TFTC!

It was very close to Quintuplets.

02-Nov-05
Found this place!Cool

02-Nov-05
These coordinates are in the back yard of private residents on Kinglet way in Keizer, Oregon. The yard butts up against the Keizer little league baseball complex.

01-Nov-05
Well trying to do this one in Pennsylvania, I ended up in a wetland area. This area was part of the Poliskiewiez Trout Hatchery located in the woods behind Minsi Lake. I never new about the trout hatchery except for going to caches that are located on the Lake Trail, one cache is 400' away in a dry area. An Eagle Scout made a sign as part of his project that explains the hatchery. Thanks for the cache.

29-Oct-05
This is just down the road from us in the heart of the Cotswold countryside, UK. These particular coordinates take you to a field on the Western outskirts of the town of Cheltenham.

28-Oct-05
I was placing a cache in a nearby area when I remembered this cache. The landscape is of farmland not far from where I grew up. In the field there were ponies and goats. Only 30 metres away was the cache "a pair of quintuplets which was very convenient. (will upload pics tomorrow as I have to charge my camera)
Great cache idea. Thanks! Big Grin

28-Oct-05
I found this spot in my hometown, Euclid, OH. This is just a few blocks from my house.

27-Oct-05
Ces coordonnées sont situées le long du boulevard Lebourgneuf, à Québec (Canada).
These coordinates are located near Lebourgneuf Blvd. in Quebec City (Canada).

27-Oct-05
15 digit palindrome this evening. Cold and dark, but nice city lights out tonight. Had to hurry as the batteries were running low!

26-Oct-05
Finally! After a couple of false starts (rule-related and camera-related), I can finally claim this locationless cache as found. Being a staff member at The University of Texas at Austin, there was a potential spot for me to visit while still 'on campus' to bag this cache. I have included detailed photos of the surrounding area in addition to the treasured shot of the GPSr reporting the palindrome coordinates.

The above coordinates took me just South of 22nd St, and just East of Guadalupe St. Around me are various buildings. The most notable is the Harry Ransom Center just to the South of ground zero. The HRC houses many treasures of literature and history, including but not limited to a complete copy of the Gutenberg Bible and the first photograph.

26-Oct-05
In Clayton, California

I decided I better get this one done while the gettin's good! I tried a couple weeks ago to hit these coordinates but my GPSr went wacky under the trees.

Today I approached from the top down and landed right on it. Turns out it is just above the Black Diamond Trail between Clayton and Antioch, CA. It is not too far from the Twenty Thousand Dollar Cache (GCQY4E).

Tried to check with Locationless Proximity Analyzer, but the program was acting up on me.

25-Oct-05
Found in Zurich, Switzerland:
N47° 24.274
W008°33.800
In the middle of 1950 appartment blocks

25-Oct-05
This is a unfinished Palace from the last days of the monarchy in Portugal. Realy the coordenates lies in the roof of the north side, 15meters from a place I took the coords. The pictures are from the planned side entrance but now is the main entrance.

Ajuda, Lisbon, Portugal

24-Oct-05
Found the coordinates on a cemetery in Copenhagen (Assistent Kirkegården). A lot of famous (Danish) people are buried here. Including Hans Christian Andersen (1805-1875) (writer of fairytales), Søren Kirkegaard (1813-1855) (a philosopher) and Hans Christian Ørsted (1777-1851) (a physicist, who discovered electromagnetism and found the element aluminium).

21-Oct-05
Found it. The exact location of this coord palindrome is on the sidewalk in front of some houses on Garth Road in Huntsville, Alabama. Across the street is part of the Jones Farm (this whole area is, of course, known as Jones Valley). Forty years ago, the farm was very extensive and covered most of the valley. As time went on, more and more parcels were sold to developers. The second and third shots (taken from the farm side of the road) show yet another new development in the beginning stages. Thanks for the cache.

20-Oct-05
N 40° 59.504 W 073° 44.730 IS the location I used .. It is less then a mile from the Saxon Woods (cahche) Park (2 caches hidden in the park).

The actual location is in a gas station garage .. My guess is right where a car was on the lift was. GPS said I was 72' away w/ accuracy of 29'. Being A) private property & B) "customer's not allowed in the work area"... not even being a customer, I just snapped a pi or two from the outside.

Flash made reflection on the GPS so I will go back & try to get a pic w/ the reading as close to actual & add it to this log.

Anyone who wants to have a lil fun & proof, take my palindrome coordinates & enter in Google local or Google maps. It will show you street corner near my "ground zero" & this log had a pic of the street signs on the corner

Nearby our house, usually there are cows walking around, but today they weren't there. Very close to Delft, the Netherlands.

20-Oct-05
This crafty cache took the crew to a dead end road outside of Silverton, OR.

19-Oct-05
This location was fairly close to home. Bear Meadow Brook is near by. I've seen many deer and beaver in this area.

Thanks for the challenge.

18-Oct-05
I found these coordinates next to a road near Heidelberg, Germany. To the south and west is the hedge of a horse farm, but to the north and east you can see a few buildings of the local industrial park.

18-Oct-05
Finally found one that was interesting. I'd been meaning to get the nearest one to my home, but it was behind a strip mall-not much of a view. When around looking for another one today, and got this one at Sharp Springs Park in Smyrna, TN.

18-Oct-05
Had a lot of fun with this one. In the part of Los Angeles County, CA, that I live in, it's hard to find coords that are accessible. These coords are at the SE corner of Blue Ash Rd and Sandy Hook St in a neighborhood in West Covina, CA, right at a large oak tree in someones yard. Got as close as I could without trespassing.
Thx- RANTAN

N38 56.583 W104 44.401. This location is off Austin Bluffs Pkwy in Colorado Springs, CO.

14-Oct-05
This is a palindrome neer 10 km from our home.

I found this too N56 07.090 E009 07.065 witch is a palindrome across the whole koordinate.

12-Oct-05
Found this one on the backroads in Snohomish County, Washington. To get the right coordinates I found myself in the midst of some hungry blackberry bushes. How fun! Thanks for the hide, Eraseek.

12-Oct-05
This is the closet palindrome to our house. We enjoyed hunging it down. Thanks for the cache.

Who woulda thunk there would be a palindrome in my neighborhood? Thanks for pointing it out Snail84! Reg

Italy - Riverside of Arno between Florence and Signa (a town near Florence). The spot is exacly where is my byke in the photo. Greetings from Italy.

08-Oct-05
Too bad palindrome coordinates aren't necessarily scenic spots. This one is wasteland NW of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, which is basically suited for some cattle grazing.

08-Oct-05
(Find #158) Not a very scenic area, but nice any way. It is interesting to note that there is a travel bug prison less than 1/10 mile away from here (Waypoint GCQ2FW). Photo to follow as soon as we get it developed.

06-Oct-05
This is in the middle of our lightrail system in east Portland. It is about 2 blocks from my sisters house.

06-Oct-05
I found this palindromic set of coordinates several months ago, but didn't post it, because it's just SUCH a boring spot, but I haven't been able to find a better one that would work, so I've decided to go and post. After all, not every location is beautiful, right?

These coordinates took me right to the middle of the street in front of 6860 Cedar Lane, in Dublin, California. This is an older neighborhood - very mundane and just a little bit run-down, but probably nice enough. It's just that I was hoping for a waterfall or great mountain view or something.

04-Oct-05
Just a mile or so down the road from me on Upper Bear Creek in Evergreen, CO. I've been looking at this cache for quite a while, and decided I better get it while I still could!

03-Oct-05
Another great locationless - very cool. This type of cache that requires you to use your brain is exactly the reason why I believe groundspeak is shortsighted in terminating locationless caches.

This location is on the edge of Red Rocks Park, outside of Morrison, Colorado. The sun was coming up nicely over this park this morning.

03-Oct-05
This has to be a first for the palindrome cache, and maybe the first for all virtual caches ever. What makes this palindrome so special is that it is also the location of another virtual cache. What are the odds of two virtual caches having the same location. See cache GC4543 "any drive in movies left". This picture is taken about 300 feet west of the cache with the camera pointed east right at the palindrome. One for the record books.

01-Oct-05
Where the old Erie Canal meets the new Interstate 390, there is a palindromic sweet spot. I even hid a geocache there for locals to find.

01-Oct-05
This palindrome cache was located in the parking lot of Broome Community College, Binghamton New York. Too bad Team Aegis didn't look over the listing of locationless caches -- this is right where she works !!!

27-Sep-05
Found this in Hamburg/Germany.
On the gpsr is only the last digit of the north-coordinate not correct. The coordinates are under a bridge so it is difficult to get good coordiantes.

A double Whammy this one. There is a traditional cache at this location and when I saw it listed I just had to get there and log the two finds in one go.

A Fun cache to find. This one is located in the middle of the corn field behind my house, near Morrison, Ilinois. More interesting is the fact that it is located in the middle of what was the Mississippi River prior to the last glacial period.

This is very near the corner of 4th and Fir streets in Independence, Oregon. It's not the most scenic of spots, but it seems to be a quiet neighborhood.

BEBINGTON, WIRRAL, NW ENGLAND

I looked for an easy palindromic set of co-ordinates on Wirral, in open countryside, but had difficulty. One was in the middle of a golf Course, another in West Kirby Marine Lake, and a third about 100m into the River Mersey. Then I spotted this one in Bebinton that appeared to be on a main road. In fact it turned out to be next to a metal fence on the side of Village Road in Bebington.
